A.N. — I always find it amusing in fanon when fics have Snape, rather than this guy, as the creator of the Wolfsbane Potion. I mean, Snape hates werewolves, so why would he help them? I give this guy a reason for doing so.
170. Damocles Belby
As someone who was looked down upon simply for who he was, Damocles Belby held a lot of sympathies for werewolves. They were cursed to change form once a month; Damocles would dearly like to change his own.
Slughorn had invited Belby to the Slug Club thanks to his potioneering skills, Damocles knew. But, it was also likely it was a fellow fat man throwing a picked-on kid a bone. Damocles hid from bullying in the dungeon labs, working on new brews. He was driven by a desire to stop the discrimination — against him and others. Thus, Wolfsbane was born.
