DISCLAIMER: I do not own Harry Potter
As time passed, John felt himself get more excited, until, finally, the day came, John and Ken arrived at King's Cross Station. John had his luggage ready, topped with the cat carrier with his new snowy white kitten, who he had decided to name 'Hecate'. While approaching Platform 9 3/4, they were approached by a familiar family of muggles.
"Ah, Ken, we've been looking for you."
"Mason, nice to see you again, what can I do for you?" asked Ken
"We're really confused, Isaac's ticket says platform 9 and three quarters, but that makes no sense."
"No problem, follow me and John."
Ken led everyone to Platforms 9 and 10 and pointed to the barrier.
"Right there."
"A barrier?" asked Patricia
"Yes, the concealed doorway to Platform 9 3/4, just run."
"That makes no sense." said Mason
Ken rolled his eyes and ran towards the barrier, phasing right into it. John smiled while the Gulls looked in shock and confusion. Ken stepped back out.
"Unfortunately, muggles cannot pass the barrier, so I would give your byes now." said Ken
The Gulls wished their son luck and told him to enjoy his term, while John ran through the barrier and was on Platform 9 3/4. He saw the large red steam engine.
"How are you feeling?" asked Ken
"Amazing."
Ken patted his nephew on the back as Isaac entered the Platform.
"Wow!" said Isaac, in awe.
"C'mon Isaac, you can sit with me."
Isaac and John headed to the Hogwarts Express. Isaac stepped on with his luggage, while Ken placed a hand on John's shoulder.
"John, take this." said Ken, handing John a small box.
"What is it?"
"This box was the only thing that survived the fire when you were a baby, I've tried for years to unlock it with no success. I feel like you might be able to open it."
"Thanks, I'll try my best."
Ken smiled and hugged his nephew. John got onto the train and he and Isaac tried to find somewhere to sit. They found a compartment where the only occupant was a first year girl with blonde hair tied into pigtails, she also wore white frame glasses.
"Excuse us, do you mind if we sit with you? Everywhere else seems to be full."
"Sure." said the girl
The boys took their seats. Isaac took out his 'Wizards in the Muggle World' book.
"What book is that?" asked the girl
"It's a book about different witches and wizards that became well known in the muggle world."
"Like who?"
"Um, let's see, Nostradamus, William Shakespeare, Alexander the Great, Jack the Ripper, Florence Nightingale, Edgar Allen Poe and more."
"That sounds interesting, mind if I borrow it sometime?" asked the girl
"Sure thing."
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, my name's Octavia, Octavia Ibis."
"Isaac Gulls."
"And I'm John Hawthorne."
"Lovely to meet you both."
John looked out the door when he heard the sound of the sweets trolley.
"Anything from the trolley, dears?" asked the trolley witch
"1 Pumpkin Pasty, please." said Octavia, handing the witch some money.
The trolley witch took the money and handed Octavia a pasty.
"And for you two?"
"Uh, no thanks." said Isaac
"I'll take a packet of jelly slugs and 2 chocolate frogs." said John
John handed over the money and was given his sweets.
"Hm, you're the second person with that exact order today." said the trolley witch before continuing down the train.
"Chocolate frogs?" asked Isaac
"Yeah, frog shaped pieces of chocolate, filled with a chocolate ganache and crunchy bites. They also come with collectible wizard trading cards." said John as he ate his first chocolate frog.
"Who'd you get?" asked Octavia
John checked the card.
"Wow, not bad, Hermione Granger, Survivor of the Battle Of Hogwarts and current Minister for Magic." said John
"Pretty good, who's the other one?" asked Octavia
John looked at the other card.
"Aw rats, Salazar Slytherin, I've already got all the Hogwarts founders, except Godric Gryffindor." said John
"Maybe next time." said Isaac, trying to join the conversation.
