A.N. — After writing about a morally upright woman in charge of law enforcement, it seems fair to follow up with a law-breaker with no compunctions about indulging in vulgarities. Tomorrow, there will be a connected character to this one.
196. Travers
His family was part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, but Travers acted sacrilegious instead.
Openly supporting Voldemort from his position of power didn't protect Travers from Azkaban when he murdered Marlene McKinnon. But it did get him broken out - twice! - during Voldemort's second reign. During his incarceration, Travers thought only of how he could better serve the Dark. Once freed, he proudly went to battle: against Potter, against Lovegood, even against muggle rights. He'd sully his name without guilt if it advanced the cause.
Travers' reputation might've tarnished, but he was inconsequential in the big picture. Winning this war trumped all.
