Miss Queen B: Hello Dear Readers! I hope everyone is doing well. It's good to be back after a small break to collect myself from Covid. I'm happy to say it wasn't as bad as the last time, but it left me so weak and drain the recovery took a lot longer than I thought. I am writing again, I got like three projects I'm working on here and there, but decided to post this Rewrite for the time being.
Note One: Oh boy,...when I first mention I was going to rewrite this story, it was already getting a lot of heated buzz throughout the comments that part of me thought it would be better to leave Well Enough alone. But knowing me, I'll regret it in the long run so here we are. What to expect in this story: All the chapters are extended with extra details and new scenes, there are parts that were rewritten and the story is now rated M so nothing is censor. All in all, I hope everyone likes it and worth the wait. The first chapter takes place after "Playing with Fire" so if you need to refresh you mind, please read the first story before getting started with this chapter.
Note Two: This story was inspired by: Tyler Perry's Temptation: One of my guilty pleasures movie, the song "Because of you" by Ne-Yo and Stephen King. When Stephen King wrote the novel "The Stand" in the 70's, he ended up releasing an Uncut Version of it in the 90's with 400 pages of new material. I figure, if he can do it, so can I!
Note Three: Rated M for: Adult Language, Adult situations, blood, violence, foreplay, sex, infidelity. A love-triangle story.
Note Four: Warning: While I welcome all Readers' opinions, debates, and reviews to this story, please be civil to others, I want people to enjoy my stories I worked so hard on without fearing they will be attack for speaking their minds. I'll take all the backlash if necessary. Hateful comments will be deleted.
Note Five: So this chapter: Gojira's thoughts and feelings over Mosura's odd behavior. Enjoy

(Flashback)
The Stars were out tonight.
Something he thought he would never see again after the False King was freed from their icy prison. The humans should be lucky they only had to suffer the False King's storm for a few days and not for decades like he did when he was younger. Still, like him, the human ended up paying a high price for unleashing The Three Headed Demon upon their home. Not only did the False King nearly destroy the entire planet, they ended up waking up all the surviving Kaijus as well. Who knows how much damage they've done across the planet under the False King's spell. Something he needed to check and restore no matter how much he dreads it. He could be selfish, just forget everything and go down to the deepest darkest part of the ocean and sleep for the next million years, but sadly, he lives here too and if he doesn't want to wake up to another disaster, he has no choice, but to keep the peace.
A small breeze hit his face causing him to hiss from the sting of his wounds all over his body. Even standing still on this uncharted island was making his muscles hurt. The False King did a number on him, even after his Queen's ashes healed him, he was still feeling the aches and pains. Mostly in his back and legs. Being dropped from the sky wasn't exactly fun and no doubt will be feeling it for the next couple of days, but it didn't compare to the monstrous headache that was pulsing behind his eyes. While the False King was biting him to suck out all his radiation, one of them bit him hard in his head. Sending a disgusting, weird spark into his mind before letting him go to bite him somewhere else. He was well aware of their little "Mind Control" powers, they did have similar gifts like Mosura, but he didn't let that bother him. They were dead, he made sure there was nothing left of them to regenerate, so there was no way he could be affected by them. They were just a pile of ash.
A shooting star flew across the sky and for a small moment, he thought it was his Queen. Already back from the dead and ready to be with him. Sadly, it was just his imagination running wild. Mosura has only been dead for a day, it was way too soon for her to be coming back fully grown. He snorted and lowered his head down to stare at the waves hitting his feet while letting the feeling of self-loathing take over. He waited so long for her to return to him only to lose her in less than a day. He wasn't there to see her hatch or cocoon and when they were finally reunited, they ended up arguing over the False King predicament. Like always, he wanted her to stay out of the fight. It was his fight and his alone, only for her stubbornness to take over and protest. Knowing fully well it takes the two of them to take down the False King like the last time and will be there for him no matter what. Their little reunion was so quick, he didn't even have time to "Connect" with her and now she's gone.
And he was once again alone.
Forced to play the waiting game for her return like the last couple of decades. It would be another day or two before he would be able to sense her egg out. She would send out a pulse-like signal for him to find her location to make sure she's safe before having to wait a month to years for her to hatch.
Things like that made him want to tear off the False King's head again or stomp on that Traitorous Fire Demon Bird for weakening her during their fight. The nerve of that male, not only did he sided with the same Monster that killed their Companion so long ago, he nearly killed his Queen if it wasn't for her sneaky little Stinger. He was going to kill him right then and there in front of the other kaijus, if wasn't for the Sloth kaiju and the Stupid Squid Scylla distracting him in order for Rodan to escape. They told him to think about the Queen. She would never take a life just because someone made a mistake. If he wasn't so exhausted and wounded, he would've fought back, but in order to prevent himself from saying or doing something stupid, he just left.
Now, here he was, on this little island, far away from everything and everyone, ready to enjoy one of his three most favorite things. Sleep. If his Queen was here, no doubt would tell him he deserved it before singing one of her soft songs to relax him. He sighed from the bittersweet thought before lying down on the ground and curling himself into a tight ball. Letting himself unravel with guilt and anger and dark thoughts thanks to his second favorite thing. The Darkness of the night. Hiding him from the world so they would leave him alone in peace.
With that, he closed his eyes. Might as well try to rest while waiting for his other favorite thing: His Queen
00000000
He visited her only once to make sure her Egg was safe and in a secluded area and that was upon her request. The humans beat him to the egg and already had an Outpost set up around her. They were nice enough to keep her nest dark and quiet so she can grow without any stress or concerns. It was dark, so the humans got a rude awakening by his heavy footsteps and came out of their little homes to see him standing close to the egg. He didn't stay long, due to him sensing the tension as if the Humans thought he was there to harm the egg or them. If he wanted to, he could take her egg with him and away from watchful eyes, but knowing Mosura, it was out of the question. He wasn't exactly gentle no matter how hard he tried and didn't want to risk cracking the shell knowing there's no other egg to fall back on. So, with that, he leaned down to nuzzle her egg with his snout before leaving her in the safety of the humans.
He thought it would be years before seeing his Queen again, shockingly, she came back to him only months after her death. She didn't even warn him she hatched from her egg, she came back fully bloomed in her final form. He happened to be looking up at the night sky while lying down near the shoreline when he spotted those large beautiful wings of hers, glowing brightly with their matching blue hue. He had to blink twice to make sure he wasn't seeing things, but it was no mistake, it was really her. Though she did change her appearance a bit, which was normal for every rebirth, this time she went back to a full-body of white fluffy fur, her wings had a blended color of orange, red, yellow, blue and black patterns with his eyes sporting on the tips. How she managed to create the same color gold like his irises, he'll never know, that was just one of Mosura's many talents.
For a second, she just floated there in the sky, staring down at him as if this was the first time seeing him. It reminded him of the day when they first met. It was pretty much them staring at each other to see who was brave enough to make the first move or say the first word. The expression on her face though was a little troubling. They weren't connected so he couldn't feel what she was thinking. She looked sad. Perhaps disbelief? Either way, it was thrown to the side when she flew down towards him.
He got up just in time for her mouth to touch his warm snout. Their first skin on skin contact in millions of years. (Unless he counted her crawling on him to protect him from the False King, which he didn't.) Cupping his cheeks with her claws, she whispered, My King…
His face remained firm, he wasn't the type that expressed his emotions wildly like her, and took his time mesmerizing her features, scent and texture. The way her wings gently flap in the air, providing him with a nice breeze. After placing a small kiss on his mouth, she pulled away to look at him. He tried his best not to roll his eyes as he stood perfectly still and watched her scan his body from the tip of his tail, to the endless rows of plates on his back, to his hard chest and finally, all the way up to his annoying looking face to make sure he was in one piece. The last fight with the False King left him broken and weak and she wanted to make sure he was alright. Nothing too bad, a few cuts and bruises and deep bite marks that left craters in his skin, but other than that, he was fine. He even made a sly remark to lighten the mood, Like what you see?
The Queen gave him a look before sighing in relief. Before he could say or do something, he was taken aback by the sudden waterworks. Great, she had to ruin the moment by crying knowing it would leave him rather uncomfortable. He hated her little crying fits, not that it hurts him, it was just annoying she would cry over him since he was fine. He wasn't dead, hell, she was the one who died, shot by the False King's beam and reduced to a powdery ash right in front of him no less. She should be happy to be back and they were together again.
Mosura, will you stop crying? You know I don't like it when you cry. He grumbled while looking away in embarrassment.
Is that all you have to say to me after everything? She asked, while covering her face with her claws. My goodness, Goji…I thought…I thought…
He was bad when it came to whispering comforting words to her since he had too much pride to say nice things. Not that he was cold, it just makes him look soft and "Weak" in his enemies' eyes. He was a male of action, not words hence why he hardly talks to others. For crying out loud, Mosura. He whispered while taking a few steps forward to close the space between them.
Come here…
She didn't flinch when he grabbed her with his claws, letting her wings fall with the tips touching the waves beneath her. Showing the trust she had in him not to let her fall. He then buried his face into her chest and felt her four arms wrapping themselves around his head for a tight hug. She kissed the top of his head before rubbing her cheeks against his wet scales. Oh kaiju, he missed her, they never had a chance to reconnect the last time since they both went straight into battle after the humans helped him recover. He was too busy enjoying her soft fur and her sweet scent to notice her gentle caress. It was her scent that triggered something in his head. Just like countless times before, a new body means she wasn't marked and just like before his male instincts took over.
You're impatient…She whispered while they settled down on the cold, wet dirt. Her eyes glowing bright with that azure-blue color as she watched the plates on his back begin to light up.
He snorted, blowing her antennas back before lying her down on her back so he could hover over her. Letting his tail curl around them for a more intimate brace. You're not crying anymore, so I must be doing something right. He said.
His Queen let out a small yelp when a cold wave crashed into her, soaking her head and back and sending chills down her body. You had to place me down next to the water, huh?
You always tell me it helps with the pain. The coldness numbs your skin. He said, before nuzzling her with his snout.
She let out a small purr while nuzzling him back with all the love and affection she can gather. She kept all four of her claws close to her chest, letting him have complete access and control of their Courtship, while using her long legs to glide across his tender gills. Sending little sparks of pleasure down his spine. He huffed before letting his claws rake up her sides till they reach her shoulders so he can firmly hold her down. Keeping her still so he can lick her cheeks and the left side of her neck. Slowly letting his tongue glide over her newly fresh skin. Not even caring about her fur tickling the inside of his mouth. He let out a small groan before giving her lustful grin. Showing off all his small yet pointy teeth.
She could actually see her glowing blue eyes in his polished, sharp teeth. She swallowed, My King, don't distract me…
I'm not. He said, before nuzzling her face once again. I miss you, my Queen. Gripping her shoulders tighter. Nearly piercing her flesh with his nails.
The nails made her gasp, forcing her body to tighten. Oh kaiju, she loved his claws and the way he would hold her dearly in his arms. This would feel so much better if they were Connected. Giving him that gift to feel her emotions no doubt swirling in her head. I miss you too…She whispered, before looking at him directly in the eyes. What happened after I died?
He jerked, Don't….not now…He whispered, before licking his teeth. Letting them feel over the sharp points of each tooth.
She tilted her head to the right, exposing the left side of her neck as much as possible….Don't shut me out…She whispered back.
He liked her neck again, gently. I'm not…now relax…He said.
His Queen took a deep breath, Will you tell me after my Mark?
He plunged his teeth into her cold, tender skin, getting a small hiss from his Queen and her feet kicking him hard in the neck. The taste of her blood filled his mouth as he dug his teeth deeper into her flesh. Making sure his Mark stayed permanently even after the wound healed. Afterwards, he pulled back to blow a splash of blue particles into the bite wound to seal it before licking gently to soothe it.
Mosura took a deep breath, already feeling the sting of the raw wound. He neck is going to be sore and stiff for a while.
Hours later, they were still lying down on the shoreline ground side by side, facing each other. Well, she was on the sandy ground, half of his body was in the water due to his large size. It was dark where only the glow came from his plates and her wings. There was enough light to see their faces as they talked. The Queen's eyes were shut and her breathing was slow and peaceful. Her fur was damped and slightly coated with blood thanks to his pleasurable grooming, but he could tell she enjoyed it by her satisfied face and shimmer dust coming off her wings.
So you were on fire? His exhausted Queen asked. She let out a small hum before speaking again. What was that like?
She didn't open her eyes or move so much. She was too relaxed and in a little bit of pain. The King shifted his head a bit, feeling the coolness of the sand on his face. It didn't burn me as bad as it did to the False King. I vaporized two of their heads before stomping the other one to death. He grinned while licking his teeth. He could still taste her blood in his mouth. The light coming off her wings was bright enough to see blood smudges on her neck and shoulder symbolizing his claim on her. With his mark and scent all over her, no one would be dumb enough to come near her and try anything. Back then, it was his way to make sure she was safe from predators, who saw her as a meal or possible mate.
Why do you always have to finish a fight so gruesomely? She asked in a low whisper. Even when she tried to lecture him, she couldn't stop smiling. He's not the type that shows affection a lot, but when he does she makes sure to get as much as she can.
You know I'm not soft and it shows others, who dare challenge me, not too. He said, trying to sound fearful. Why do you think those Fools didn't waste time kneeling to me.?
So how are the Others doing? Are they adjusting well?
He snorted before looking away. I guess
She stared at him with narrowed eyes. You did…check on them…right?
Of course. He growled, slightly offended, but she knew him and his anti-social ways. Most of them went back to sleep. The only one I'm really disturbed about is the Parasite…
Mosura's eyes widened. There's another one?
He nodded slightly. Yeah…we didn't exactly had a pleasant conversation. She basically cursed me for killing off the rest of her Kind and making her the last one. The stupid Thing told me she hopes something really bad happens to me. Childish. You would think at her age and level she would be a little more mature, but what do you expect from a filthy Thing?
Please don't find this offensive and I can't believe this is coming out of my mouth, but I'm surprised you didn't kill her.
She's nothing without a Male. Hopefully she'll do the smart thing and sleep for another million years. He said,...or jump into a lake of lava. Something where he didn't have to go near her or touch her. He didn't know why, but there was something about the Parasite that made him cringe. Oh and your stupid friend here too. He said, making it about as exciting as hacking up spit.
She nearly jumped up, only to hiss from her neck wound. Scylla is awake and you are just now telling me?!
He shrugged, There's no point getting all worked up about it. She buried herself underground to sleep off some weird feeling in her head. Probably a bad side-effect from the False King's powers.
Mosura frowned, Oh...She went back to sleep...You would think she would wait for me.
She knew you went back to your egg, she thought it was a good chance to sleep while you did.
That put a small smile on her face. I guess that makes sense. Still, I'll have to find some time to visit her.
You're not going to wake her up are you? He asked, worried.
Mosura shook her head, No, of course not, but that doesn't mean I can't visit. Just to make sure no one is disturbing her and keep her turf clean. She said, lying back down again and closed her eyes. Also, thank you for checking up on her. It means a lot to me. He then heard a soft giggle and watched her tired eyes slowly open. They were bright like her wings with satisfaction and love in them. You're softer side is showing...I kind of like it.
I'm NOT getting soft.
Yes, you are, You just don't like to show it. She said, smiling.
I only show it to you.
I wouldn't call what you did soft. She said, moving a little bit to keep herself awake. She made a small hissing sound.
He felt a little guilty from her statement. I wasn't too rough, was I?
Nothing I couldn't handle. That's just how you are. You can be very aggressive when you show passion. Possessive might be a better way to describe you. I can tell you were really into it by the way your eyes glow afterwards. Like two golden lights.
The King felt his face getting warm from her description. Aggressive and possessive would make up more than half of his personality and some would find that too much to handle. He should know, most of his Kind would stay away from him because of that. It was alright for him though, he was pretty much a loner and didn't like to socialize. What's the point, many only saw him as a Freak of Nature. Like how he was able to outlive most of them, never showed any signs of aging and was getting bigger, stronger and evolving into something entirely different.
He stayed quiet and reached out to her with his claws. They hovered over her small frame for a second and as gently as he could started to trace the outline of her body with his sharp nails. You're mine so I have every right to be possessive. He could feel her twitch underneath his fingertips and she let out a small purr. She tensed up when his nails touch the teeth holes he gave her before trailing up to her head. He twirled one of her antennas with his finger before going down again.
You're too fragile. He said, watching his nails trace down one of her long legs. The touch made them curl up tight against her body. She let out a tiny laugh. He trailed his claws behind her back and pulled her close to him till he was buried once again in her chest. One of her giant wings draped over his body for warmth. He let out a low rumble which made her body vibrate.
He felt her forehead press up against his and she let out a small sigh. A warm sensation begin to seep deep into his head followed by a rather uncomfortable pinch. After a few seconds, he felt a wavelength connecting him to her. Wave after wave of her emotions and thoughts begin to hit him hard, making him cringe a bit and his head to throb. It was easy for her since he didn't express himself much and she had a stronger sixth sense where he didn't. He groans, You need to stop being so emotional. You're making my head hurt.
Odd? His Queen said, ignoring him.
What? He asked.
Something feels off like there's a weak yellow spark interfering with our connection. Have you been feeling weird or anything while I was gone?
I'm fine, it's probably nothing. He said, dragging her down to his eye level and licking her mouth.
Are you sure? The last thing we need is something harming you while you're still recovering. She said, which he responded by licking her cheek.
I fell from the sky and turned into a giant ball of fire, of course, my head is going to feel weird. He said, trying to make her laugh.
I'm being serious. It's weak, but still noticeable. She said, frowning.
You worry too much. The King said. He was trying to be playful which was another rare thing he did.
I can't help, but care. She said and he heard her sniffling again.
Not again. Why did she have to cry again when he's trying to play? What's with the crying, my Queen?
She started to sob and pressed her face against his large snout. You don't understand. The last time I saw you, you were on the ground barely moving with a broken back and I went back into my egg not knowing if you were dead or not.
Why would you doubt my abilities? He asked.
I tried not to, but it's just that small little doubt that lingers, like I would come back and you were no longer here. How could I handle things without you?
His head started to hurt thanks to her emotions and stress at a high level. Damn, she didn't give him time to tone her feelings down mentally. He groans. His little Queen can be too overwhelming sometimes. They've been together since the world was at its infancy and clearly they were not going anywhere anytime soon.
You know as well as I know, it's going to take a lot to get rid of me. He said, trying his hardest to comfort her. He was a male of little words and not one of his strong points.
She sniffled and took a deep breath. Just promise me nothing will tear us apart.
He snorted, Don't say such silly things, Mosura. A line he would use to shut her up.
She huffed and brought her wing up to cover their heads so they could be in complete darkness. He let out a low rumble, she knew him very well. The only light now was her glowing blue eyes which were closing slowly as well. I love you. She whispered…My Love, My Alpha, My King…
He rolled his eyes and just licked her mouth again before shutting his eyes. He heard her sigh, It's just you and me here, why can't you say it. He didn't respond, hoping she would believe he just fell asleep. He didn't get it. Why did it mean so much to her to hear him express himself like that? You would think his claws and "talented" tongue would be enough to give her the hint how he feels about her. She was courted to be his Queen for crying out loud, so why say it?
(You are such a headache) He thought.
(I heard that)
Crap, he forgot he needed to put up a wall to seal his thoughts for her. (Go to sleep)
(I love you)
(...Good night)
(Forever)
He started to hear her sing one of her soothing tunes and he drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face.
A week later the nightmares began….
0000000000
Why Him?
The question repeated over and over again in his damaged mind as he took a loud, hard step towards his Queen and the male she was protecting from him. The sight was…disturbing. He was one fatal cut from killing the fucking Fire Demon Bird it wouldn't be funny. Yet before he could do anything, Mosura got in the way. Literally throwing herself on top of the brutally injured Rodan and holding his head close to her chest. It wouldn't be the first time she did this, but the way she was holding him, protecting him, using her fragile body to shield him...he couldn't help, but see some affection. He was appalled. He growled.
MOVE, Mosura!
What he didn't expect was her to defy him. NO, you will not hurt him anymore!
The Bird at this point was terrified and stunned from his Queen's actions. All he could do was stay perfectly still in the dirt. He had no way to escape thanks to him breaking one of his wings and leaving a large wound in his chest. The Bird couldn't stop shaking and kept his eyes shut tight. He took another step while letting his spikes glow bright. I said, MOVE!
His eyes widened when Mosura held the Bird tighter and pleaded, He's my friend.
FRIEND!? Weren't they trying to kill each other not too long ago and now their friends?! How long was he gone for this bullshit to happen? He didn't buy it for a second, especially the way she was holding the Bird tenderly. He's a traitor!
The argument just got worse from there on to the point they were pretty much talking over each other. At least in his mind due to his head still tender and crippled. And I forgave him for that now it's time to-
-He's still loyal to the False King! They ordered him to go after-
-Rodan didn't do anything to harm-
-He attacked you! Another kaiju saw you and him fight-
-We were sparring, it was my idea-
-he put his nasty claws on you! He screamed, shutting her up completely and causing the Bird to look away in guilt. You…you reek of him! He was hoping she would deny it. Tell him something plausible for Rodan's stench being on her. He managed to get a confession out of Rodan, but deep down, he was hoping the Bird only said those things just to piss him off. Was she really here the entire time he was gone? Did the Bird really put the moves on her and if so, how far did she let it go? Did she really sleep wrapped in those fiery wings?
Instead, she bowed her head in shame, It wasn't like that. She said, finally letting go of the bird.
Something in his head twitched horribly from that simple sentence. No…With wide eyes, he took a step back in disbelief. What are you saying?! Were you allowing him to touch you!
She blushed before whispering a stammering "No" which had him screaming out her name, ordering her to explain herself. More yelling occurs with him yelling at her to move, his final warning before he was force to sink low and shove her out of the way. The Bird crossed a dangerous line and there was no way he was going to let him live and try again. He could actually see the fright and horror written all over her face. She'd seen him kill before out of self-defense or to eat, but never because someone pissed him off. She even went as far as making him promise, he would never kill out of anger or spite. But why him? Why him of all kaijus? Why did she stay with…HIM?! It wouldn't be the first time he left for weeks at a time and like always she would wait for him…not flaunt around with another male! His rage-filled mind suddenly snapped out of it when she loudly called him a Monster before telling him she would never forgive him if he killed Rodan right in front of her.
Rodan was now covering his face with his claws, no doubt trying so hard not to move or piss all over himself knowing the only thing keeping him from a watery grave was his Queen and her pleading words and boy, did she plead with him. They were both tired and angry at each other and the only thing she wanted was to go home.
Please, She begged, kneeling to him for mercy. Please, leave him alone, so we can go home and let you heal. Please…Please…
Why him?
It wouldn't stop repeating in his head when he glared down at the wounded bird before turning the other cheek to walk away. Once the anger subsided (a little, but enough for him to think straight), he didn't want the rest of their fight to be in front of the bird and decided to wait for her off the island.
Why him?
She didn't follow him at first. Instead, use the very little time she had left of this Visit to talk to the Bird. He could hear them talking, though it sounded clogged compared to the monstrous headache and the ringing in his Hearing, and muttered to himself. She better not be using her Healing powers on him…
Why Him?
When she confronted him. He sneered in disgust. The stench on her was unbearable. Never in their lives did she ever reeked of another male's scent. They knew her and they knew who she belonged to. They would never go near her if they value their lives and those who dared would end up missing pieces of them. They started fighting again. Him bewildered that all this time she was here on this Island with the Bird of all kaijus. Of course, she shot back about him abandoning her and leaving her an emotional mess. She started to cry, she couldn't help it, when she's mad, she cries and she was mad at him just as much as he was mad at her. She couldn't believe after being gone for so long he wanted to fight with her knowing he needed to rest and heal. They've seen the damage the False King can cause on a kaiju with their "Mind Powers" and after enduring it as long as he had…there's no telling if some of that was permanent. She was right, but the petty side of him couldn't let it go. The Bird admitted right in his face, he was in love with her…Did she know? Did she feel the same way?
Why Him?
She didn't want to fight anymore. She told him she loved him, hurt that he would think she would do such a thing. Leave him for another after everything they've been through. She just wanted to go home and in the end, he was exhausted. She was exhausted. So they went home.
When they were swimming away from the Island, he saw her looking back. She didn't embrace him tight or stare at the sunset coming up. She was looking back as if trying to get one last glance at the red, fire demon. He didn't have to be Connected to her to sense the sadness spewing off of her. He didn't show it, but he was very unsettled by it.
Why Him?
Part II
Happiness
~Cross my heart, hope to die
To my lover, I'd never lie.
He said "Be True," I swear I'll try
In the end, it's him and I
He's out his head, I'm out my mind
We got that love, the crazy kind
I am His, and he is mine
In the end, it's him and I, him and I.~
~Him and I by G-Eazy and Halsey
His Queen was not happy.
Normally, when she's not happy it's because he did something wrong or forgot something very important. Which would end with her lecturing him and him giving her an empty promise to do better. When it comes to taking a Life…well, that was a whole different story. They've seen death throughout their lives with him so used to it, it hardly fazed him. Mosura, on the other hand, was against it no matter what. There were so many times he would witnessed her crying every time they would pass a dead kaiju or slaughter hatchlings. That's life, he would tell her, it's not hearts and colors. There were times they wouldn't speak to each other for days over Life and Death topic due to her wanting to show mercy when it comes to him having to kill. He lost count how many times he would be fighting another opponent to keep them from harming her only to have her block him from making the final blow. Begging him to show mercy since the arrogant kaiju was already down and broken. The same kaiju that nearly killed her for Sport or food. They would fight, but it would always end the same way. He would show mercy, look the other way then refuse to speak for her for days at a time. He loved her, but she can be so naive sometimes. Can't she see, he was trying to get rid of the problem so it won't come back again. So it won't try to harm her like the last time?
He mentally kicked himself because he just had a feeling. A really bad feeling. He should've killed the bird when he had a chance. He knew Rodan. That type of "Problem" never goes away.
The journal home was quiet and tense in his opinion. She wasn't talking, not one word and for some reason she would constantly look back as if she was looking for something ...or someone? They made it home around the evening, after spending the whole day in silence with the sun cooking them and he was very bothered by it. Normally, it wouldn't take this long to get to his small island home, but his head wasn't functioning right. It was hurting so much, it was making his vision blurry and no doubt he took a few wrong turns because of it. Once he felt the soft ground below him, he began to crawl on all fours till they were at the shoreline of their home. The Queen flew down from his head as he collapsed on dry land, nearly knocking his Queen down from the earthquake-like rumble. He was too tired to even make it to the cave for rest so he might as well sleep outside for the night. She limped over to him, her back leg was still covered in blood from where he bit her during his hallucinations, and pressed her forehead against his and chirped.
How's your head?
Honestly, he felt sluggish and it was hard to concentrate on even the simplest task. Swimming home took a lot more brain power than before and left him feeling way more exhausted than usual.
Weird. Was all he could say of. He felt fragile. While his Queen's powers were able to bring him back to reality, it felt like she was still fighting the False King's spell in his head. All he could feel were sparks and bubbles popping and painful tugs. The encounter with the bird didn't help the situation. He ran his claws down his face to help him wake up before glaring at his Queen. Speaking of the bird, he was still a little peeved with his Queen over her little stunt back there at the fire demon's island.
She gave him a sad look like it was hurting her to see him this way. It will take a while, but you will heal from this with my help. The King didn't smile. One: he was too tired and two: having her close to him he could smell that stench of the fire demon. It was all over her, how can she not smell it or if she did, how can she not be bothered by it. He felt her tiny tongue trailing around his mouth followed by a purr. I missed you. She whispered.
Not that much by the way she reeked of another male he thought. Luckily for him, their connection was still broken or no doubt, she would've slapped him for making such a low blow remark. Are you sure about that?
She pulled her head back to stare at him in the eyes. Why would you question that, my King?
He scoffed, did she really want him to say it, You smell like smoke and shame. You smell like Him.
Her antennas drooped and he was surprised she didn't yell or give him a smartass remark. He was hoping for a smartass remark, anything was better than the guilt forming on her face. She then frowned and he could see the shame in her eyes. You can fix that, you know? She said, trying to flirt with him. Trying to sike him out by letting him have some "pleasure" time. Her way to win an argument that wasn't going in her favor.
Oh, he could and as much as he wanted to get rid of it the pleasurable way, a lot of caressing, licking, and bites, part of him couldn't stop picturing himself dunking her in the ocean with his tail. He let out a snort, spraying her with bright blue particles. So we're just not going to talk about it?
That threw her back a bit. You? Talk? That's rare and about what?
Do I have to say it ...you were on his island…
She blushed bright red and turned away from him. Letting her wings form some sort of barrier between them. Shielding him from seeing something he might not like. There's nothing to talk about. I thought we were done with this back there. She whispered.
He lifted his neck up and even when he's lying down flat on the ground he still towers her. You were with him this whole time…
I just wanted someone to talk to…
You were supposed to go home and wait for me. You always go home and wait for me…
And wait in dead silence, after weeks of ignoring me before leaving me without a clue where you were going.
Don't change the subject, Mosura! He snapped before grabbing her wings to part them so he could see her. Even if it was just her bare back. She refused to look at him.
He told me things…. He remembered the piece of crap telling him right in the face, he loves the Queen. And not just as a Queen, but more of a male loving a female …..and you said he tried to do something to you…
Yes, and I told you it was a Bad Judgment call. He took my kindness for affection-
Just how far did it go till He realize that!?
The fact she didn't answer him right away send chills and terror down his spine. Will she fucking fight this. Tell him it was all a misunderstanding. That she shoved the Bird and his advances away and that's the end of it. Yet, the scent. The smell of smoke and ash was lingering, like it was embedded deep into her solid white fur. Should he even mention the part where Rodan said she slept in his embrace? She slightly turns her head and he can see her biting down on her claw, a small tell-tale sign she was nervous about something. The guilt was noticeable and he was pissed. She sighed, My King…
He gripped the dirt to keep himself from forcing her to turn around to face him. He struck her once during a very bad hallucination, leaving her with deep claws marks on her body and blood dripping off his nail, and he never wants to go down that path again. Even if she's being secretive. He couldn't believe the next question out of his mouth. Did he touch you…
That made her flinch…hard. She quickly shook her head. It was a bad judgment call…
When it comes to Rodan, there was no such thing as "Bad Judgment Calls" when it comes to females. Even back then before the "Big Sleep," Rodan was known for his Charm and wooing the females in order to Nest them for a night or two. Did you touch him…
Again, nothing happened, why are you doubting me? She asked, her eyes glowing bright in frustration.
You wouldn't smell so strongly of him…Why is his scent on you!
She scoffed, Why can't we focus on the fact he helped me save you!
He did NOT save me! He hollered, making his head pulse so hard he felt like his eyes were going to pop out of his sockets. He ended his sentence with his fist slamming the dirt. I don't recall him having "Mind Powers."
No! She said, standing up so he could see her bloody leg. But if it wasn't for his help getting you to calm down, I would've suffered more than a bite wound on my leg! You were out of control…when I saw you…the look in your eyes…I swear my King…I didn't see any life in them. Did you forget what happened to those Kaijus when they were under the False King's spell? They would suffer, go completely insane till their heart gave out or become brain dead. You were going to kill me just like you were going to kill Rodan…yet…yet…after all that, you would accuse me…
You were holding him close. You begged me to spare his life. I know for a fact you would never hold your other companions like that!
She finally whipped her head around to face him. And I love you so much for sparing his life. She said with a small smile. Looking at him with a pleading expression. I don't want to talk about it anymore. I just want to be with you. She said, firmly.
He knows there's more to the story. She wouldn't be acting like this or facing away from him yet again. You can't stay on an island with another male, Rodan no less, and say nothing happened. She will tell him eventually, but for now, she doesn't want to fight anymore and this was the first time in months he could see and think with a clear mind, so he decided to drop it. Still sitting with her back facing him, he wrapped his giant hand around her waist and dragged her to him till she was pressed firmly against his hard upper chest. Her silky wings gently glided in his face till they laid down on each side of him. He rubbed his giant head up and down slowly against her fur, holding his breath so he couldn't smell her. and let out a soft rumble.
She let out a small trill and nuzzled him back. He gripped her hard, digging his nails deep into her fur, but not enough to pierce her flesh. He licked her neck, feeling the small, shallow teeth holes of his mark on the tip of his tongue. Making sure the mark wasn't tamper in any way. That stupid Ash-spewing bastard had no right to go near her and he should be lucky his Queen came along or he would have finished the job and killed him. Who knows, maybe he will die eventually from blood loss, but he wasn't that lucky.
She let out a small moan, You should really get some rest.
Soon, I need to clean your leg wound. He said, feeling trapped in a daze. He's not going to stop until every speck of Rodan's stench was off of her.
She sighs, I'm glad you're here with me.
He was too, but again he's not going to say that out loud.
000000000
His Queen was not happy.
And again, it wasn't something he did wrong or said, she was just sad for some reason. Distance and very quiet. Her colors were dull and she hardly flies around anymore (In her defense she didn't want to be too far away from him in case something happens. Ugh) Even their connection felt cold, not to mention suspicious. Normally, he can sense and read everything in her mind, but lately, there's a spot in there she was blocking from him completely. Which usually means there was something she didn't know how to address to him knowing he might blow a fuse.
Their first month home, she seemed fine. Happy to have him back safe and sound and under her watchful eye, but it didn't come with their own set of problems. When he meant by watchful eye, he meant his Queen wouldn't let him out of her sight. She didn't have to tell him why, he could sense it and read it in her head. She was afraid he was going to leave again. Push her away and leave with that constant fear he won't come back. The first night together, she didn't sleep which was find since he didn't want to sleep either no matter how exhausting he was. Months of gruesome, painful, self-inflicted nightmares can do that to a kaiju though he would never say it out loud. Stating he just wasn't tired. They didn't talk that night, too winded from all the yelling they did and just settled for comfortable silence between them and their blue glowing eyes.
It was like that the next day, with them just sitting in silence. They didn't even move from their resting spot. All he could feel was her calm demeanor and his wounds finally healing after reopening them over and over again over the months. By the time the second night rolled in, his Queen's eyes were struggling to stay awake.
You need to sleep. He whispered.
She softly smiled at him before yawning, You need it more than I do, my King.
I'm not tired. He lied, while curling his arms and legs against him. The underground cave he made over the months was cool, damp, and secluded. Away from prying eyes and where only the sounds of the oceans' waves can be heard.
Sadly, Mosura could see through him like clear water. My King, I don't want to go through those sleepless nights again. If you're afraid-
-Watch it- He warned, hating the word Afraid when it comes to describing him.
-If you're concerned about the False King, I can try another healing session just to be on the safe side. She said, correcting herself.
He shook his head, feeling weak. I can still feel them lingering.
They were…"Attached" to you for a long time…it's going to take awhile for me to completely get rid of them. Luckily, from what I'm feeling, there's no permanent damage. She said, while her eyes slowly closed only for her to snap them open again. Will you let me help you this time…
He grumbled, Don't talk to me like that, Mosura, I am thinking clearly now.
Sorry. She said, before scooting close to him till their snouts gently touch. Hold still…She whispered before placing the tip of her claw on his forehead.
He closed his eyes, hissing from feeling her "Gift" seep deep into his head. Calming his headache and dulling out those disturbing sparks that were trying to take over like before. Replacing them with a calm and warm relief. He felt his body getting heavy and him losing his battle to stay awake and guarded.
Get some rest, my Love….He heard Mosura whisper.
So he did.
He slept for nearly a month and during that slumber, she stayed by his side, using her powers to slowly heal his head. He still had nightmares, but they weren't as bad as before. They weren't as intense to the point he was harming himself and as the days went on they faded more and more. Finally after what seemed like forever, the nightmares finally stopped, the False King's voices no longer plague his thoughts every minute of the day, but his Queen was not taking any chances. She said she could still feel them in there, like a little speck, waiting to regenerate, so she never left, not even to get fresh air or to eat. Kaijus like them can go long periods of time without food, but that doesn't mean he was happy about it. Why let her dwindle her health for his sake?
During the second month, he only woke up twice only to notice her still by his side, sleeping off and on as well. He could sense her stress and the life leaving her due to overusing her "Healing" powers. The more she uses it, the quicker she will have to return to her egg. It made him question if she had a chance to make another before coming back to him.
The two times he was awake, they would talk about the False King. She knew they were alive and he wanted to know why she didn't give out this information sooner. She told him he needed to heal, there's no point finding them since they have no clue where to start. Plus, even if a piece of the False King was still alive, it would take years for them to recover, so why worry if they haven't showed up yet? It wouldn't do him any good since he was still recovering. It was so puzzling, he was sure he burnt the every single piece of the Demon to ash so how in the world did they survive? He wanted to get up and look for the three headed bastard, but his head still felt sluggish and fell back to sleep instead.
By the third month, he finally walked out of their cave feeling like his old self. He still felt a little drained, but he felt normal mentally. Even his Queen was relieved to tell him she can't feel any more of the False King's spell in him. Just their connection. Though he noticed something odd about his beautiful moth. While she was happy about his recovery, she looked a bit off. Tired and lost in thought for some reason. Even her appearance was showing an odd color. It wasn't like he was ignoring the changes, he's just been asleep for the past few months.
Even when he excused himself to go for a swim, she didn't ask if she could join him. She didn't even look frightened about him leaving like before. She just gave him a weak smile before looking away to hide her sadness. Maybe she was tired? He'll address it with him after a much needed swim. A good way to stretch out his muscles and get some water into his system. Plus, it will give him time to figure out what to do about Mosura. He swam all day, feeling free and light and all his trouble washing away. Every muscle in his body throbbed from the sudden exercise, but he continued on knowing he'll be sore the next day. He even did a small Patrol to make sure the rest of the Kaijus were staying out of trouble. Luckily for him, most of them were still sleeping. The only one that was showing some actual movement was the last Muto Parasite, but she was smart enough to stay in one place. Taking refuge in the same place he killed her brother and sister since it was the closest thing she had to call a home. Whatever. He didn't really care, she was no threat to him since there was no male around. He grudgingly went by the Squid Kaiju, Scylla's resting spot to see if she was awake or not. Mosura was so happy to hear Scylla was one of the surviving kaijus after the "Big Sleep" even though it was bittersweet when told she went back into hibernation in order to sleep off the False King's spell. Again, he really didn't care for the Squid, he tolerated her at best since she was Mosura's "Best Friend in the Whole Wide World"...Mosura's words not his. He and Scylla never got along, always butting heads over what was best for Mosura and calling each other horrible names, but would never force Mosura to choose since she knew Scylla longer than him. Still…despite the Squid and her Bitchy attitude, he can count on her when needed. She loved Mosura and would do anything to make sure the Queen was safe.
As he stared at the Squid's resting spot, buried underground to sleep with her shell and the top part of her legs sticking out of the ground, he couldn't, but grumble to himself. The Squid picked the worst time to sleep. If she was awake, no doubt Mosura would've stayed with her during his absent instead of the fucking Fire Demon.
Speaking of the Fire Demon….
He was compelled to go by the volcano to see if Rodan was still alive or not, but he had to stop himself for the Queen's sake. She told him to leave the fire demon alone, why stir up dirt when Rodan was keeping his distance. Fuck, what made HIM so special anyway? He can understand her putting up a fight when it came to defending her best friend because of their history, but she hardly knew Rodan and his poisonous ways. While they did their best not to bring up Rodan, it'd still fester in his mind. He couldn't help it, there was so much he didn't know about the time she spent over there…with Him. He might be a little more understanding if she told him what went down over there, but still gets nothing out of her. It was kept secret deep in her mind.
After swimming around a few islands here and there and getting stares and screams from those puny humans, he ended up spotting a piece of land that had one of the Queen's favorite treats on it .Those trees with fruit bits she likes to nibble on with milky white sap inside. Perhaps a treat will get her out of the depressing funk she was in plus, he couldn't remember the last time he brought her some sort of gift. He might as well get one since she did some much for him over the months. Ignoring the looks on the humans, he made his way on land and plucked one of the trees out of the ground. Making a gross-like moan from tasting the bark and sticky sap before heading back into the ocean. It was a little challenging swimming back home with his mouth up high so he wouldn't ruin the tree, but he made it no less. When he got home, he spotted her sunbathing in the warm sand, lost in her own little world and looking a little melancholy. Her mind was buzzing and cold. Something was bugging her and he was at a loss. She didn't even move when he towered her and blocked out the sun with his shadow. It wasn't till he placed the tree down next to her when she finally opened her eyes to acknowledge him and stared down at the gift.
My King? She questioned him. Which was another odd behavior in his opinion. She would never question gifts, she would squeal in pure happiness and embarrass him with affection while bringing out her brightest colors.
I figure you deserve something for helping me. He said, though her dull, sad reaction wasn't what he expected and it seems like it made her sadder.
There was no smile, no bright blue eyes or even a squeal of joy. Her staring at the gift went on and on and on as if it triggered a memory in her mind. She suddenly lowered her head and looked away so she can keep him from seeing her this way.
What's wrong? He asked. He thought fruit trees were her favorite. Maybe he got the wrong type of fruit, but even so, she wouldn't act like this. I thought you like these trees? Why was her eyes watering up?
Holding back the tears, she shook her head, No, no, I really like them, I'm actually surprised you remember my favorite food after so long. She said, giggling nervously at him.
He raised a brow, not sure to take what she said as an insult or a compliment. But…
She quickly got up, getting a little defensive. Nothing, it's nothing. It's a nice gift really, but...I'm tired. With that she flew up into the air and headed back to their underground cave, leaving him rather confused. She even left her treat behind.
It took another month of seeing his Queen moping around before he finally had enough and wanted answers. She hardly smiles anymore or goes out to see the world. Hell, normally she's the one always nipping at his tail to get his ass up to go out with her. She hasn't sang one of her happy little tunes in weeks and would just stay by the shoreline all day whining. Something was up and he needed to know. Finally, when she was resting in the cave, he sat down next to her and waited for her to say something.
She looked up at him and forced a small smile on her face. Is something the matter, my King. Is it your head again?
He stared at her, trying to read her face while figuring out how to piece together what he wanted to say. His way of solving things was to strike fear and annihilation, but her way was talking things out and understanding which he's not comfortable with. He let out a small snort, What is going on with your head?
Her tiny antennas perk up from his question. What do you mean?
You're not happy.
She tilted her head a bit. Why would you say that? I am happy.
Who are you trying to fool here? He asked, calmly
I'm not ...fooling anyone. She said, looking away from him.
Using his tail, he scooped her up from the floor and brought her up to his eye level. She held on tight while letting her wings dangle and they stared at each other for a bit. She frowned as if she got caught doing something wrong.
Now he was frowning. So this is what it's like to be on the shit side of things. He lost count how many times she would beg him to open up to her when he was going through one of his dark episodes without even thinking how she was feeling. Now, the roles are switched. Where she doesn't want to talk and it was hurting and annoying the crap out of him. He wiggled his tail to get some joyful reaction out of her, but failed miserably.
What's wrong? He asked. You haven't been yourself for a long time.
She twiddled her claws and her antennas began to flicker wildly. She looked like she was trying so hard not to tear up and couldn't even look at him. If I tell you, will you promise not to overreact?
He rolled his eyes. Seriously? When you tell someone not to overreact that usually means they will, but whatever, he'll play along. Sure, now what is it?
Finally, after taking a deep breath as if bracing herself for the impact of what she was about to say, she spoke. I need to see him….
His tail fell, dropping her and it to the ground with a loud thud, but she stayed calm, expecting that kind of reaction. Him? What "Him?" Rodan? Is that the HIM you are talking about!
Please, don't be mad. She said, quietly. You promise…
Yes, he promised, but he didn't promise this Shit! Is that why you've been so unhappy ...over HIM!
Damn, she knew how to make him feel so small and unwanted. The humans could drop a bomb on him right this second and would still feel better than hearing that come out of her mouth. The four months they've been back together, she's been thinking about that crappy bird the whole time?
You wouldn't understand ...His Queen said, quietly.
No. He said, plain and simple.
I left him there weak and injured. She stated.
So what?
I can't escape this guilt of not knowing if he's alright.
Yes, you can, you just choose not to. Why do you care so much?! You hardly know him!
Why do you care so little?
You know why! Do I have to remind you of all the shit-
-Language-
-All the crap he put me and Anguirus through when we were younger. He's the one who blamed us for Ang's death and did you forget he tried to bite your head off during the battle with the False King because I don't!
She scoffed, Ok, so he made a lot of mistakes back then, who hasn't, but he's different now. To me that is. He actually opened up to me and showed me there's more to him.
Don't sell me that "There's more to him" speech crap, Mosura! Anguirus did the same thing because he was too blinded to see what a fucking Ass the Bird was.
Will you please call him by his name, my King. He has a name.
No! No to the name and No to you going over there! He shouted, going as far as pointing a claw at her firmly.
She sighed, rubbing her face with her claw to compose herself. Why is it so hard for you to show some love and compassion? Can't you please let me do this one little thing?
Offended, he growled, I spared his life for you! That's what YOU wanted. Don't you ever accuse me of not showing compassion!
She huffed, I just want to make sure he's better. That wound in his chest nearly hit his heart.
Yeah, I know, I was the one who stabbed him there! He boasted, not even caring if it pissed her off.
Why would you be so proud of that?
He shouldn't have confessed certain things to me. He growled. More to himself for remembering what the flaming idiot said. Rodan told him his Queen spent the night wrapped in his fiery wings and whether it was true or not deserved a giant hold in his chest.
Like what?
Rodan's little statement, 'I don't recall her pulling away when I licked her mouth' echoed in his head. He wanted to know from her own words if she actually let that happen. Did she really let him go that far on her knowing she was taken? It doesn't matter because you're not going.
Don't be like this. She asked, flying up to his eye level with a pleading face.
Why is he so important to you? He asked. This is pure nonsense. They never got along for millions of years, how can so much change in the two months they were hanging out on that little island? Why won't she tell him what happened over there?
She turned blood red and he couldn't tell if she was blushing or mad at him. It was probably both. You know you can't stop me from going. I can fly out of here right now if I wanted to, but I respect you too much not to go without your approval.
And I said no! He stomped his foot.
Oh, he could tell she did not like his answer by the way her white fur puffed up while her wings turned red. You can't forbid me like some baby larva. She hissed.
Then stop acting like one. He snarled back. His plates started to pulse. The blue and red glows lit up the cave and made their shadows dance.
She sighed in a way to calm herself down. I don't want to fight or hurt your ego, but I'm going to see him, so it will put my mind at ease and you know what, if I want to continue seeing him here and there, I will and you can't stop me.
Don't test me, Mosura… He said, baring his teeth.
I will because you will lose. She said, calmly. He felt like he was slapped in the face by her calm voice. How is Rodan different from all the companions I had over the years? Yes, you would complain, but you were never like this. You would never try to kill them?
He wanted to tell her, he should tell her, but saying it out loud felt like he was damaging his own pride. What could he say: he didn't want her to go near the Bird because he knew Rodan harbor feelings for her? It wouldn't be the first time males would try to romance her only for her to giggle it off like nothing. To her it didn't matter because she only had eyes for him which is why she sports them on her beautiful wings, but this…this feels different. Like an actual deadly threat if he let it live and thrive. If he said all that no doubt she would laugh in his face for sounding "Silly" before getting offended that he didn't trust her. Did he really want to hear all that nonsense because she refused to take No for an answer. He snorted and dull the blue lights coming off his plates down, Will this get you out of your crappy mood.
Her wings dull down as well. I just want to see my friend, my King. Please.
He rolled his eyes from his Queen's stupidity. He had a bad feeling this is going to open up to even more problems if she went back over there. Fine, so be it.
For the first time in months, she smiled. Really?
Now his Queen was happy. Him, on the other hand, was not. Now he's going to piss her off again, On one condition….

I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream.

I've got to see you again…~
~See you again by Norah Jones
His Queen was not happy ...again.
And with a smug look on his face, he was proud to say it was his fault.
They left their island home not too long ago and he was taking his sweet time swimming to the fire demon's island with her pouting on his back. She could fly there faster if she wanted to, but that would just add more trouble to this already bad idea. He told her she could go as long as he accompanied her on the way over there. At first, she thought he was finally going to patch things up with Rodan after everything that happened, but he shook his head and told her not to hold her breath. Did she honestly believe he was going to let them be alone? He's just going to make sure Rodan knows not to try anything.
You're being ridiculous. She pouted.
They've been mates for millions of years and she just now figured that out? He thought, being an Asshole. He couldn't help it, he was in a bad mood.
He could feel her tiny claws and feet walking towards his neck plates so she could get a better view of his eyes. You trust me, right. She asked.
It was hard for him to talk without getting water in his mouth so he sent it to her mind. (Are you giving me a reason not to?)
( No, but I don't need a babysitter) She thought back.
(I'm not leaving you alone with that fire bird and that's finale)
( I can take care of myself.)
(You said he tried something, so I'm going to make sure he keeps his claws to himself.)
He can actually feel her giving him a dirty look. ( You make it sound like if he tried anything I would consent)
(...Would she?) He thought to himself, but forgot she was listening and she kicked him in the head.
He came to a halt right in the middle of the large, empty ocean, nearly knocking her off his back and lifted his head to face her, who was already glaring at him for being insensitive. She then took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Putting on a tiny smile, she leaned down to nuzzle him. Your jealousy is flattering my King, but-
He pulled away from her, nearly knocking her off his back again, and sneered. This has nothing to do with being "jealous." He pestered, And you're the one to talk, do you remember all the crazy shit you would put me through because some stupid female showed interest?
That's different…She said, blushing…I don't stomp my feet and tear body pieces off of other kaijus. She finished, getting a glare from him.
No, you just sit around and pout while giving me the silent treatment which is worse than what I do. At least my way is quick and straight to the point.
Why do you have to make everything so difficult? She asked, before spreading her wings out.
His eyes widened, What are you doing?
Flying the rest of the way. If you're going to act this way, there's no point in coming with me. She said, jumping up into the air to fly.
Oh no, you don't. He barked, grabbing her by the leg and bringing her down. She let out a small yelp before hitting the water with a loud splash. He couldn't help, but chuckle knowing she hated ocean water since it tends to leave sand and small plankton stuck in her fur before turning himself around so he can float on his back. Already his mind was heating up and pinching his nerves from his Queen's irritation.
A second later, she popped her head out of the water to gasp before coughing. She screeched, What in the world, Gojira!
Oh now she was pissed. That was the only time she would use his real name and normally, it would bother him, but not this time. Giving her a deadpan look, he calmly splashes her face with water before peddling his legs and tail to swim circles around her. What? It's hot out here. I figured you needed to cool down. He lied, playfully.
You only did this because you know I can't fly with wet wings! She hissed while trying to swim over to him.
He peddled away from her, swimming in the direction of their home. Nonsense, I would never do that.. I'm not that petty.
Where are you going?! You can't just leave me out here? She shouted.
You told me you were leaving me behind, so I might as well go home. He said, trying very hard not to smirk.
And you expect me to swim. You know I can't swim.
Since you're so eager to see the fucking Bird, you'll figure it out. He said, waving good-bye at her.
I can't believe you're acting this way, my King! She shouted, before sinking back underwater. Her wings weren't exactly light when wet and she was light to begin with. He waited for her to resurface, preparing his tail to dive in and scoop her out as a last resort since he wasn't that cruel. He suddenly felt her claws wrapping around his tail, forcing to lift his tail up into the air and rescue her from the water.
Drenched and shaking from the cold, he thought she was going to scream at him, but instead she blew her antennas out of her face and sigh. That was petty…even for you.
Careful, I can easily drop you again.
Goji! She warned, her face turning bright red.
He rolled his eyes before bringing his tail and her towards his stomach. She let go of his tail and landed softly on his pudgy belly. Thanks a lot, my King. It's going to take me days to pick all the dirt out of my fur. Not to mention, my fur is going to clump.
Well, next time don't test my patience. What part of "You're not going there alone" did you not understand?
She responded by spraying his face with water thanks to her shaking it off from her fur. She then did the same thing with her wings, but it would still take some time for them to completely dry and it didn't help when they were in the middle of the ocean.
After grooming her face a bit, she stared at him with her big blue eyes. You test my patience a lot as well, my King.
He shrugged, Can't argue with that. He said, before giving her a firm face. Can we just go home and forget about this visit?
Giving her wing another shake, she frowned and that caught him off guard again. She was actually sad again and most alarmedly, hurt. My King, why don't you trust me?
What?
You heard me. Why don't you trust me? Is this some male ego thing because you and Rodan had bad history or-
-I do trust you. He said, rather quickly than he intended, I don't trust him.
I know you don't, you don't trust anyone if you think about it, but since you trust me shouldn't that be enough.
He snorts, before putting a big, calm smile on his face. The smile spooked her since he wasn't the smiling type unless he was going to do something horrible or wicket. Then he calmly whispered, Either I stay and keep an eye on you or I castrate him before letting you be alone with him. Your Choice.
Her eyes grew wide because she knew he would do it. She sighed, Please, don't cause any trouble and whatever happens, you will not interfere.
What the hell does that mean? Either way, he won this argument. He gave her a smug look before dipping his head back into the water to swim onward. The rest of their trip was left in dead silence. It was the mid afternoon when they made it to the bird's island and sure enough, the King spotted the idiot resting in his volcano. He made sure he stayed at least a mile or two away from the small piece of land so he wouldn't "cause trouble" as the Queen said.
There! He's fine. Waste of time, now let's go home. He grumbled and looked up to see the Queen's eager face and she started to groom her fur with her claws.
What in the world are you doing? He asked.
What? I need to look presentable. I look like a mess thanks to you dumping me in the water. She said, extending her wings out and flapping them a couple of times to stretch them out.
He growled, making bubbles in the water with his snout. There's no reason for you to look nice in front of him.
I'm known for beauty, it has nothing to do with Rodan, I just want to look nice.
His eyes narrowed. You got five min-
His Queen flew off to the island before he had a chance to finish and he sulks. Talk about another kick where the "Sun don't shine" in his opinion. The Idiot must've been in a deeper slumber than he thought because his Queen flew right next to him and waited for him to notice. After a few minutes, she let out a small giggle before saying:
Lost in thought, Rodan? Which caused Rodan to snap his eyes open before falling backwards behind his volcano. He heard a low tumble noise followed by a loud thud and couldn't help, but laugh.
(What an Idiot!)
(Oh hush, my Love) the Queen answered back before flying above the volcano to see if Rodan was Ok.
(Well, he is)
The Idiot flew back up to the rim of his volcano and looked at her as if she just came back from the dead. Flapping his wings he started to sputter out words to her in a panic. What are you doing here? Do you want me to die?
Was that a trick question? He thought before swimming a little closer to hear their conversation better.
He didn't like the nervousness his Queen was feeling. The same kind of feeling silly adolescents would feel when they see their crush up close. He could even hear it in her voice when she spoke.
I was hoping for a happy hello, but it's fine, I don't blame you since I've been gone for so long.
Smoke was coming out of Rodan's wings, something the bird would do when he's under pressure or nervous. He hasn't changed much since their last encounter except for the large scar he had in the middle of his chest. How managed to survive that brutal attack he'll never know. Maybe Rodan was sent here on this planet as punishment for his crimes, who knows.
I don't mean to insult you, my Queen, but this is quite a surprise.
What caught his eye while the two "friends" exchanged words was the body language of his Queen. She was looking at him, like really looking at him. The same way she would do to him after a battle to check for bruises or wounds. She flew to Rodan's side and sat down next to him on the volcano and with a big smile on her face, she grabbed his wing, the one he broke way back then and observed it. I see your wing is better and you look healthier too for once. She said, with a smile
Fuck it all, the wing was fully healed with no scar left behind. Rodan pulled his wing away from her with a nervous face as they continued to talk to one another. Feeling the happiness in his Queen soar higher every second. She was acting like she hadn't seen the Bird in millions of years. The light from the lava in the volcano made her glow with pureness.
Suddenly, his Queen pointed over to his direction causing Rodan to make eye contact with him after so many months. Rodan started to panic again Oh kaiju, you two are here to kill me, right? The dumb bird said, which wouldn't be a bad idea in his opinion.
His Queen waved him off and turned her attention back to the fire demon. Rodan, I'm hurt from you thinking that. And don't mind him, he's just keeping an eye on me.
Rodan started to twiddle his claws a bit, trying his hardest to keep himself from shaking so much. What are you doing here?
Her smile fell a little and looked down bashfully. Was she blushing? He thought, hoping it was just the way the lava was beaming on her. Well, I was missing my friend and just wanted to see how he was doing…and maybe have another sparring session?
(Sparring session! You didn't tell me anything about a sparring session.) He screamed through their connection.
She jerked from the sudden noise and rubbed her head. (You said you will not cause any trouble)
(We are here so you can do your little Well Check and that's it! We didn't agree to some stupid sparring session!)
She ignored him and turned her attention back to the Fire Demon with a big smile on her face. She loves to piss him off knowing he promised he wouldn't intervene. He quickly dunk his head underwater to cool himself down before he did anything stupid. He could go over there and drag her back home by his teeth or tear off Rodan's reproductive part like he wanted to, but that would just pile on more problems between him and Mosura. Not to mention, Rodan might get some gratification seeing him make a total Ass of himself in front of Mosura. He took a deep breath, letting the cold water seep gently through his snout and tender gills before resurfacing.
He doesn't trust me. He heard Rodan say and he didn't. He really didn't.
But he trusts me and that's all that matters. She said and no, that doesn't matter to him.
He hates me. He doesn't want me around you. Rodan said and that made him smirk. The bird just gave him an excuse he was looking for to get out of this situation.
(There, he doesn't want us around. Now let's go home.) He shouted in his mind. His stress levels were getting high and his Queen could feel it by the way she was hiding her twitchy eye. She kept her cool, ignoring him once again and placed her claws on top of Rodan's wing for reassurance.
I want you around... She said and there was probably more to her sentence, but he was too weirded out by her words to finish listening. She wanted him around? That didn't seem right to him no matter how many times he sliced it. Why? After everything Rodan did, why would she want him around? There was a little pang of hurt and jealousy flowing through him and it was making him mad. Why Him?
I don't know Mosura… He heard Rodan say, forgetting who he was talking to.
(You better stop ignoring me) If you want this to work, My Queen, he will address you properly! He shouted, making the firebird cringe.
(Was that really necessary?) She asked, looking back at him.
He sank deeper into the water, sulking like he always does when he doesn't get his way. He hated this. They both smiled at each other before Rodan flew up into the air with his wings burning bright with lava and ash. His Queen signaled him that they were heading out for their sparring session and she flew over to him with a little smile on her face.
He was about to say something when she kissed him softly on the forehead. Thank you for letting me see my friend. She whispered. (It means a lot to me)
He rolled his eyes. (You better not let me regret this decision)
He followed them in the water as the two flew around in the sky, trying to find a spot for them to have their playful fight. Sparring Match? What a bunch of bullshit. He lost count how many times he would try to teach Mosura how to defend herself or spar and she would flat out refuse. She wasn't the violent type as she puts it and will only fight for those she loves. Did Rodan's charming words convince her to try it out? He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Mosura giggling ahead of him.
They were exchanging playful words and heckling at each other as if they were the best of friends. Looking at them, you would have never guessed a year ago they were battling each other to the death during the False King's invasion. Once in a while, he would see the Idiot looking back at him with this strange look, probably wondering if this was a set up for a surprise attack or wondering what he thought about him seeing Mosura again. Who knows. His Queen was shining like the bright sun now as if everything in her little world was perfect once again and that disturbed him. Rodan wasn't supposed to be in her world, that place belongs to him and those puny humans she loves so much and is why he only tolerates the humans because of that. He didn't like this. Could he really be ok sharing Mosura, the main part of his world, with someone like Rodan? He never thought he would be put in this position and it made him sick,...but his Queen was happy and that's all that matters ...right?
….maybe afterwards, we can get something to eat. I know a small island that has those sweet trees you like so much. Rodan suggested. Watching that smile spread across his beak.
Mosura squealed in delight. The one you brought me when my wing was broken? Oh, those were so delicious….
He stopped and let himself float there for a moment.
(Just promise me nothing will tear us apart.) He remembered his Queen telling him that night when she returned. Her blue eyes wet with tears from the horrible thought of them being separated. He was so confident it would never happen, so of course it was easy for him to promise her such a thing. But now…
He had a bad feeling she was going to break her own promise….
MQB: First chapter down and I have to say probably the easiest one out of the whole story. Sorry if it was a bit slow, this is a slow burn romance, a nice way to slowly build up the "Shock and Awe" moments. lol.
Next Chapter: A hard adjustment, an awkward lunch date, and Rodan using his charm to get Mosura to sneak out to spend some time with him. Just the two them, what can go wrong?
Until next time, Stay wonderful and well, Dear Readers. Love ya!
