A.N. — For a drabble with a big, round number, I wanted a fairly noteworthy character. Canon says she died in late summer, but I want her here to put her somewhat close to her brother... and having the honor of drabble number 200. This drabble's my view on how it could've gone after the attack but before the deadly duel.
200. Ariana Dumbledore
Obscurial was a term not yet in use. Even if it was, Ariana wouldn't have cared for the label.
As long as her family got along, she was fine with her occasional difficulties. Ariana let insults and slights slide off like an impervious charm. Her outward appearance, and what others thought of her, didn't concern Ariana. It was often thought the girl existed in her own world. Whether that was by choice or not was up for debate.
Ariana disliked being the center of so much speculation and strife. So she withdrew further, unknowingly feeding the monster gathering strength within.
