A.N. — August 2nd is when the dementors came to Little Whinging, and today's subject had the unenviable task of delivering an official missive with massive consequences because of it. Of course, in book 7, Hermione made sure she got her just desserts.
214. Mafalda Hopkirk
Mafalda blinked, stunned, at the latest magically-transcribed order that'd arrived at her desk awaiting a signature and sending.
Harry Potter's name stared back at her.
Oh shit, was her first thought. Mafalda Hopkirk would forever be known as the witch responsible for expelling the Boy Who Lived from Hogwarts. Once word got out (and it always did at the Ministry of Magic), she'd be fucked even worse than Gilderoy Lockhart's memories.
Mafalda had brushed off Potter's first underage magic infraction when she'd sent the notice; most kids had one of those on file. This, though, was damning — for them both.
