A.N. — Today is the first day in a good long while that I haven't had planned out. Nor does August provide for many of these kind of days. So I went scrolling through ff.n's character list again, and this is the result. This student's only appearance is on Christmas, a crowded canon day.
216. Derek
Derek had wanted the full Hogwarts experience first year, so he told his parents he was staying at the castle over Christmas break. Oh, how he was regretting that decision.
Turns out, only six students had stayed. There was Gryffindor's Golden Trio, a fellow first year (different House), and a surly Slytherin. And all of them were sat 'round a single table at an exceedingly intimate, and awkward, Christmas feast.
Derek was already star-struck by Harry Potter and co. eating with him, but Dumbledore speaking to him with that twinkling gaze nearly had him passing out from blushing so hard.
