A.N. — There are two Bobs in this site's character list. One, infuriatingly, is Bob Hitchens, yet another character only on that damn Black family tapestry. Bob Ogden seems to be a recent addition. I can only see him while editing the story settings; he's not there when I search on the characters otherwise. This Bob, though, is left out still. So, pretend I've tagged the right guy, please.
226. Bob
Sporting a full beard was hazardous when one worked in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Bob viewed it as an outward show of skill at his job. Carrying a fire-breathing chicken in an elevator had him rethinking his hubris.
Bob looked down at the cardboard box he'd stuck the beast in, then at his fellow passengers. Arthur Weasley (a Department head), and Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived. Bob gulped. Suddenly his "skills" seemed suspect.
When the door dinged and opened, Bob tried not to look like he was beating a hasty retreat. Crisis averted!
