A.N. — Now that we're out of the Ministry of Magic (and finally back into fanfiction•net's character list), have a Muggle! His death (on today's date) was one of the most surprising in all the books to me, probably because it occurred in a first chapter. Tomorrow starts another set of themed drabbles.
228. Frank Bryce
Frank Bryce could not shake the taint of his past.
The veteran had never killed anyone after World War II, yet the populace of Little Hangleton still thought him responsible for murdering the Riddle family. Once, Frank had somewhat liked the stuck-up squire for giving him a simple job and a quiet place to escape the horrors of wartime. Now, he viewed his small cottage and the surrounding grounds much like his former military service: a burden that had to be taken up.
A solitary sentinel, Frank never stopped fighting — whether it be public perception or hooligans vandalizing the property.
