A.N. — I found it hard yesterday to get into a decent mindset in which to write a humor drabble. The character's name (even though I know Mostafa's Egyptian) just kept bringing up Afghanistan for me, and dragging my spirits down. So, I'm taking not entirely humorous look at a joival individual here.

230. Ludovic Bagman

There was not a more laid-back department head at the Ministry than Ludo Bagman.

It felt as if the man had never left his Quidditch playing days behind, loving to live life loose and fast, always ready to joke and gamble. And while that was acceptable for a young athlete traveling with his team, it was frowned upon in a middle-aged bureaucrat.

Ludo ignored his critics and indulged his habits. But a shady past and dodgy present could not be laughed off forever. Ludo's masterpiece — the World Cup on English soil — saw his debts come due and his smile disappear.
