A.N. — Another pair begins here, this one on the prey/predator dynamic. Not that this lady is initially aware that she's being hunted, given her pronounced forgetfulness. This drabble earns a high T rating.

Bertha Jorkins had never been in the right place at the right time. In fact, it was quite the opposite:

⦁ Attended Hogwarts with the Marauders, but not in their cohort
⦁ Employed at the Ministry, but bounced around departments
⦁ Uncovered the Imperiused Barty Crouch Jr. and memory charmed to the point of brain damage
⦁ Had her (not-so) good name tainted by association with Ludo Bagman

Taking a vacation to Albania and fleeing her woes proved no different. Bumping into Peter Pettigrew seemed fortuitous, but the only mercy was Voldemort's killing curse once his mind rape was through.
