The Chosen Path: Harry.

The black lake shimmered in the sunshine, the gentle hum of wizards and witches talking to each other surrounded the castle grounds. Harry Potter stood outside of the crowd next to Hermione and Ron, his raven hair blowing lightly in the breeze. The funeral was over. The greatest Wizard of this age had just been laid to rest. The wizarding world had suffered a great loss, but for Harry this meant the last of his protectors was dead.

As he walked through the crowd, Hermione and Ron at his side, conversations stopped as heads turned to watch him, their eyes full of fear and wonder. Harry knew what they were thinking, It was up to him now. It was all up to him. They believed that he was going to save them.

Harry James Potter, Saviour, Chosen one, Boy who lived. He was expected to face the darkest and most powerful wizard. He was their only hope. Harry stared straight ahead walking past them.

If only Harry had any hope left. If he couldn't save Dumbledore, how would he be able to save the Wizarding world from Voldemort? What could he do to Voldemort that no other wizard had done before?

He wasn't ready. Not by a long shot.

Harry walked past the crowds, Hermione and Ron beside him, there was no turning back for them now, they had to move forward, to prepare, to fight, to win. As long as he had them, he knew he stood a chance against Voldemort. They were his strength, he knew he could rely on them for anything and he loved them all the more for bearing this burden with him.

The gentle breeze whirled around him as he closed his eyes and breathed in the fresh air.

Harry turned and faced his two best friends and offered them a smile, which they warmly returned. As they reached Hogsmead they looked to each other giving a brief nod before apparating away.

Reaching Godric's Hollow Harry though of the life that lay before him.

Harry wasn't ready, he knew that he wasn't ready.

But he will be.

And when he is Voldemort better be ready for war…

A war that he was going to win.
