A.N. — Why not follow one pair with another? In canon, these two are joined at the hip and pretty indistinguishable from each other. Well, one dies in book 7, so there's that... But, as always, I try my best to make each person their own. For an alliterative name, here's a drabble with a focus on it.

248. Gregory Goyle

Gregory Goyle made minimal exertion his mantra.

Good grades took effort, so Goyle's marks quickly plummeted.

Socializing in Slytherin was steeped in subterfuge, so Greg rarely opened his mouth.

He'd been born into magic, and so thought he already knew all he needed to get by.

All of his teachers had his true nature seemingly sorted: Goyle was a layabout and a lackey, and whatever promise he'd shown was quickly subsumed by sloth.

Greg ambled through life, content to fade into the background. But he swore, if necessary, he could spring into action. He just hadn't found the motivation yet.
