A.N. — Tomorrow in canon is Harry's first quidditch tryouts he's in charge of. But there's another event also happening then, so today is when I tackle another Lion. He's not as connected to yesterday's drabble as he'd like to be.

256. Jimmy Peakes

It wasn't often Harry Potter played second fiddle to anybody. Yet that's just what Jimmy Peakes thought of his new quidditch captain.

He'd never made the team under Oliver Wood's tenure, a fact Jimmy was still sore about. Wood's devotion to quidditch was legendary; Jimmy felt he'd been robbed of that potential tutelage. Don't get him wrong, Harry was a spectacular seeker, but his coaching style didn't suit Jimmy's tastes.

Or maybe the animosity ran both ways. Harry received a head welt during tryouts from a bludger Jimmy struck, and might well be giving Jimmy the short shrift in retaliation.
