A.N. — I followed Harry with his pet. Of course I'm going to give Hermione the same treatment. Ron's "pet" will be in November, though he's a focus here. But for now, proof that cats rule the world. And some humor, which has been MIA lately.

263. Crookshanks

Crookshanks could've told you that Scabbers was a rat, and not the tasty snack type, either. It wasn't his fault his human didn't listen properly to his suspicions. The big black dog understood, kinda-sorta. He was a human under his skin (the smell gave him away), so Crookshanks was mildly impressed he deciphered his mewls, yowls, and body language anything close to accurately. Yet still the rat-human remained in his human's habitat. Crookshanks was only one feline; even he needed help sometimes. If the humans had just defered to his (obviously superior) opinion, this would be taken care of already!
