Greetings everyone, here's the next chapter to a new story/game here on fanfiction. Looks like an extra early Christmas Present came early for Sonic fans to enjoy. Chapter 01: Rebuild The Resistance

RESISTANCE OUTPOST

The scene opens around what was once a busy city, but now it looks deserted. There were signs of a struggle, a battle had taken place here not too long ago. Arriving on the scene were Sonic who stopped his speedy run to look around. And then we see Sticks land on a fallen lamppost in a wild girl position with her boomerang held out.

"Hey, I know where we are. This is where the Resistance was setup sometime ago?" Sonic recalls the area as if the memory was only yesterday. "Looks like there was a battle here? Makes me think about when we all fought the Eggman Empire at the last battle?" The blue hedgehog felt a bit concern when looking over all the things that point out something major went down.

"Yeah, well while you were out, those that fought a group of Zen-Monsters had a harder time then facing those Phantom phonies." Sticks firmly issue about what they are facing makes that battle seem like small potatoes. "You remember where the place is? Or was? You know, just in case it was destroyed. Not saying yes, but can't get your hopes up too much." The badger girl looks to see if Sonic can guide them to the Resistance's base.

"Well sure, it's this way. Let's just hope there's something still standing." Sonic stated on where they needed to go.

"Good, then don't delay. We gotta see what we can work with if we wanna survive. I once had to work with nothing but a banana, two sticks, an old chewing gum to make a banana slingshot to blind an enemy." Sticks stated from focusing on the important step without batting an eye while talking something crazy.

Sonic pretty much still had trouble trying to understand Sticks, one minute she seems serious and the next, well…she's a unique character for sure. After walking a bit through the empty town, was a place that appeared to like a normal building, but Sonic lead Sticks to a secret elevator and punch in a secret code. The elevator took them down to a secret bunker, and there were a bunch of different species of bears, birds, cats, dogs, rabbits, wolves, and hedgehogs. Many were carrying some gadget-like weapon called Wispon, each model coming in distinct design that combined the design and color scheme derived from a specific Wisp breed's anatomy with portable tools, like handguns, hammers, drills, and similar mechanical devices. Right now many were covered in bandages and others that appeared like doctors help their patients. But when someone saw who came through the elevator, a spark was trigger…

"Hugh! It's Sonic!?" A male dog pointed in surprise.

"Sonic! Is it him?" A female bird was also surprise who came.

"He's back!" A male bear replied with utter amazement.

Everyone was starting to feel like what seem like darkness have begun to take it's hold, a light came to shine hope. Even Sonic and Sticks were not prepared to see the Resistance in such bad shape.

"Oh man, everyone okay?" Sonic felt concern, he knew the Resistance must have had a tough fight: but this seem hard to handle.

"Judging by the state they are in, I say no." Sticks remark that everyone didn't look their best, what can one expect when fighting a difficult battle.

"Well okay, so much for an easy and less downing momentum?" Sonic shrug off the shoulders after seeing the situation. "So is anyone around that's leading you?" The blue hedgehog asked, hoping that maybe one of his pals are around here.

"That would be me." A male voice was heard, someone who sounds like a calm and delicate being.

The crowd began to look and move away, allowing Sonic and Sticks to see who was walking out to approach them. The figure was an anthropomorphic wolf with blue fur, white fur around the belly and mouth, and yellow color eyes. Wears dark grey gloves and sneakers with red stripe lines, and had a red bandana tied around the forehead. There was a wrist-mounted grappling hook attach to the right hand. This guy was carrying a yellow model Wispon that was style to appear like lightning: The Lightning Wispon.

"Mach? Mach The Wolf!?" Sonic address the one who appeared.

"Hello Sonic." The blue wolf smiled when making a presence.

"You know him?" Sticks asked Sonic from wondering who this other blue fella was.

"Know him? Heh! This guy was the one who took part in rescuing me from Eggman's Prison in outer space." Sonic smiled from wanting to introduce a new friend to another new friend he made. "Mach The Wolf, meet Sticks The Badger." The hedgehog waved his hand back and forth when letting the other know one another.

"A friend of Sonic, is always a good sign." Mach humbly greets with a little noble hand to chest and bow motion.

"Yeah-yeah…Can we forget the small talk and get straight to business. Course I'm not a salesman if that's what your thinking, cause I'm not selling or buying anything." Sticks cuts to the chase, though she drifted off a bit. "Start talking, what went down around here?" She asked the big question, which concerns the scenery around everyone's condition.

"After Lord Zenn's announcement, I hurried over to this Resistance's base to help in anyway that I can." Mach explain things while looking a bit down when coming to the next part. "But only a few gathered here after I launch a distress beacon." The place had almost no one around, so he tried to recruit anyone to come.

"Yeah, the Resistance was disbanded shortly after we kicked Eggman's butt. Knuckles told me there were many civilians that wanted to join and fight back the freedom of the planet." Sonic held his chin from recalling what the Resistance's goal was, when they brought down the Eggman Empire then there was no use keeping the organization in tack.

"Yes, but I have not received word from the main members that lead us." Mach revealed a shock that brought concern to Sonic's attention. "We fear that they must have meant with those Zen-Monsters, we been holding out here hoping they try to contact until…" The guy drifted off, almost unable to say anymore right now.

"Let me guess. Some Zen-Monsters were snooping around the city, you tried to take them out and it didn't go so well. Am I right or am I wrong?" Sticks issue firmly to stare at what the obvious answer was across Mach's expression.

"Hugh, those things are not normal. What's even worse…was what happened to some of our troops." Mach signed in defeat while having mention what else occurred.

"What happened?" Sonic asked, knowing he won't like where this was going.

"They were turn…into Zen-Monsters. And began to attack us." Mach looked away from feeling terrible of what befell their comrades.

Sonic felt really concern when hearing this since it means that while he's been out of action, Lord Zenn has really been at it. Turning anyone and anything into Zen-Monsters, increasing an army of monsters to take over the whole world. "BOOM-BOOM!" Suddenly before the discussion can go any further, explosions rocked the area in a vibration motion which caused the Resistance to be unrestful.

"They're back!?" A female rabbit exclaim with worry.

"They found us!?" A female cat was scared of what's coming.

"We're doom!?" A male hedgehog shouted in terror.

"Hey, don't worry! We got a way to fight them now!" Sonic smiles with confidence in his voice.

"You do?" Mach looked as if believing there was another way.

"Come join us and you'll see for yourself." Sticks points ahead that if one doesn't believe, they gotta witness it first hand.

Quickly everyone return to the exit! After leaving the building, saw something. There was an army of humanoid machines, marching and acting like raging monkeys on a march.

"The Cogs!?" Mach address the enemy that was approaching them. "We've dealt with them before, but only in small numbers. Everyone is too weak and injured to make it through this." The blue wolf was uncertain if they can get by if things were looking hopeless.

"Uh, I seen these bad boys before. And they are just as twisted as whatever made them." Sonic rolled his eyes from watching these enemies he's meant show up now. "Well, time for a little demolition derby! SPIN DASH!" Sonic was cracking his knuckles, getting himself eagerly ready with this one move.

Then Sonic curl into a ball and spins off like a buzz saw. Then the spinning hedgehog glowed into a powerful blue aura, and collided against the incoming army. "BASH!/BAM-BAM, BOOM!" The single strike from the hedgehog completely destroyed and cause many to short-out and self-destruct. When it was over, Sonic zipped back to rejoin those that waited for him.

"In-Incredible!? How did you do that?" Mach was utterly astonished that Sonic managed to defeat the Zen-Monsters just now with ease.

"With a little help from this." Sonic showed his little blue gem that was glimmering.

"Amazing? Our Wispon Weapons managed to slow down the Cogs into a temporary paralyzed state. But it almost seem like they repaired themselves through some dark magic?" Mach was amazed, they stopped the Cogs before with their Wispons, but they just got back up after a while.

"No problem! With us here, problem solved." Sonic grins to boast how things will change thanks to him and Sticks' effort. "Sticks, think you can pass them out?" The hedgehog asked if the girl can give the members of the Resistance the needs to fend off more Zen-Monsters.

"What do I look like, a traveling merchant offering free stuff? Just to promote a product and become the Man?" Sticks raise an eyebrow to accuse Sonic's method of what she's meant to do: the hedgehog was about to ponder if that's a yes or no when... "But yes, I can pass them around. But there's something you outta know." The badger girl issue to say while having something on the mind.

"What's that?" Sonic raise an eyebrow, unsure what Sticks had to say.

"The Gaia Gems I told you can make those capable into Gaia Warriors. For the most, if these folks use them it'll shield them from turning into Zen-Monsters." Sticks reveals a big deal that if folks have these gems, they can be protected and fight Lord Zenn's monsters. "And seeing they use the Wisp as a source of power through the Wispon, they can at least fight off against the Trooper Class at best. But you might need more numbers against those higher, cause they won't be any easier." The badger girl went ahead to explain a few things of what can help the Resistance.

"Those higher? What do you mean?" Mach asked from not liking the sounds of this.

"Yeah, there are different types of Zen-Monsters you gotta be watchful of. Each is a Class separating them in the rankings." Sticks points out important facts to keep in mind about the Zen-Monsters.

"Three types, so which ones we gotta know about?" Sonic cross his arms to ponder patiently about what sort of threats to keep an eye out for.

"Give me a second, I'm thinking here." Sticks asked as she cleared those here to give her space. "Alright, you got the Trooper Class: They're just the soldiers that make up the numbers, but they are not easy for normal weapons. That's why those with Gaia Gems can stand a better chance." The badger girl revealed that those that are lookalike monsters are just the soldiers. "Next you got your Unique Class: They're like a step up of being stronger then Troopers. Heck, just one Unique can be plenty of trouble against a group of Gaia Warriors." Sticks went off to explain about a monster higher then the troops that can give somebody a hard time.

"I think I meant one or two of those already. I'm afraid to ask, but what's bigger then facing down a Unique Zen-Monster?" Sonic scratch his head from recent meetings of such foes before asking the big question.

"Well the answer to that, is you really gotta watch out for are those called a Mega Class: They're said to empower Zen-Monsters to break pass their limits. It's like you're up against a 1000 Troopers or a 100 Unique baddies, they're in a bigger league. They're much more bigger and more powerful. And if a stronger enemy turns into a Mega Class, then they're harder to beat. Even an army of Gaia Warriors might not cut it." Sticks explain a shocking truth that a worse class type of the Zen-Monsters are a greater threat to be worried about.

"Seriously?" Sonic raise an eyebrow, a bit surprise by how hard it is to take down something from a Mega Class category.

"Yep! But don't worry, there might be another way to fight the Unique and Mega Zen-Monsters. It's…" Sticks was preparing to give a helpful clue here…

"Fow…/BAM!" Suddenly without warning, missiles were fire and caused a lot of destruction around the area.

"Question: What's Bigger Then a Brontosaurus?" Silo's voice spoke forth a question while nearby.

"Wait! Don't tell me? Um, is it a skyscraper? No, that's too easy? Maybe a mountain? Nah, too simple?" Sticks was trying to figure out the answer to the question.

"Oh no, I think I know that voice? And when it ask questions, you won't like the answers." Sonic felt like he knew what was near and it wouldn't be good.

"What's happening to the sky now?" Mach noticed something weird happening above.

Then without warning, lightning strikes near an area further away from the group. But in it's place, they saw Silo but now his body was transformed by the dark magic of the lightning. Turning the machine into a tall 80 feet tall giant.

"Answer: The New And SUPERIOR Silo! YOU LOSE!" Silo proclaimed from standing before all in it's giant powered up self. "Hahahaahh…/STOMP!" The Giant Silo stomps across the area, causing a shock way force and vibration to slightly catch anyone nearby off their feet.

"That's New!?" Sonic raise an eyebrow after seeing someone grow gigantic.

"This is bad! That guy just went from a Unique and became a Mega Zen-Monster out of nowhere!?" Sticks issue what they have witness is equally bad news.

"This is bad…We gotta get away from here or he'll flatten the Resistance base with all the injured folks." Mach felt firmly concern that if they don't lead Silo away from the base, everyone inside will get crushed.

"I Am Invincible!" Silo proclaimed forth when spotting Sonic, Sticks and Mach down below running to get a far distance. "YOU LOSE!/Pow…" Then the enemy launched off two missiles from the wrist. "BAM-BAM!" The destructive power destroyed the buildings that managed to shield Sonic's group just barely.

"Okay, we dealt with Death Egg Robots that were the size of apartment buildings? How bad can it be to take this giant foe down?" Mach tried to firmly think of what they can do against such an enemy.

"Yeah, I agree. He maybe Big and Strong, but I bet he's not fast enough." Sonic grins to know that bigger isn't always better, they can be pretty slow.

"Hey! That's just clearly a nutty plan if I ever heard one." Sticks protest from having heard this, and she's the nutty expert. "I seen those mass-produced Death Egg Robots, they're nothing compared to Mega-Class Zen-Monsters. We need a way to take it down before he spots us." The badger girl knew that this was gonna take some major teamwork if they wanna win.

"Question: How Much Trouble Are You In?" Silo's voice was heard nearby from those that were hiding. "GRrugh!" That's when Silo picked up a building to reveal those that were in hiding.

"I stand corrected! He spotted us!" Sticks exclaim from looking a bit surprise.

"Alright buddy, I'll play along. How much trouble are we in?" Sonic slyly replied what this foe was asking them.

"Answer: Prepare To Find Out!" Silo suddenly waved out his arms, as a metallic chain cable was shot from the stomach joint area.

"Sonic! Watch out!" Mach shouted with worry now.

Without warning, Mach quickly jumped in to save Sonic, but in doing so….got caught by the chain and pulled upwards. Sonic and Sticks were shocked, now they have a friend that was captured.

"You Lose!" Silo remarked those that failed to counterattack.

"Silo, bring me the one you captured." A voice was heard on an intercom device directly in Silo's head: so that no one else could hear such a conversation.

"Affirmative!" Silo replied after having received such an order. "Hahaahhh…" Without warning, Silo took off while taking the captive Mach in the air and flying over the mountains range.

"Mach!" Sonic called out, witnessing another friend he knows get taken away.

"Oh boy? Something tells me that trouble has gone way off!?" Sticks felt really concern after what happened.

"Come on! We gotta go after them!" Sonic narrows his eyes, ready to chase the baddy until they rescue Mach.

"Seriously? You seen what a giant Zen-Monster was capable of! That's a Mega Class! You think fighting Unique Classes were hard, this one's CRAZY Hard! We need to get backup, and I mean LOTS of it!" Sticks issue that they can't go into danger without a plan, or some backup against such a powerful foe.

"You go! I'm going to save a friend!" Sonic didn't have time to wait, he has to act now.

Sonic zips off before Sticks could say anything, leaving her completely in the dust. And when it was clear, Sonic left a dust trail heading north to the mountains.

"Boy the things I do for others. And folks say I'm the Nut job of the outfit?" Sticks slapped her forehead after seeing Sonic leave her behind. "How am I gonna rally the troops to help us stop a giant walking space toy robot and catch up to a guy going Super Sonic Speed?" The badger girl was really uncertain how she was gonna pull this off.

"Maybe I can offer some help?" Another voice was heard, a male one at that.

"Wait, your…?" When Sticks turn around to see who it was, she got a big surprise.

AROUND THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS

The scene opens around the mountains, where Sonic had stopped after reaching an open field. The blue hedgehog looked around, it shouldn't be that hard spotting a giant killer robot, he's face them lots of times.

"Hahahahh…" That's when Silo stomps on the ground from being air board and let off an evil laugh.

"Hey! Where's Mach!?" Sonic glares at seeing his friend was not with Silo.

"He's gone bye-bye! And he's no longer around." Silo address the matter of what's happen to Sonic's friend.

"We'll see about that!" Sonic narrow his eyes, as he grips the Gaia Gem tightly in the fist which released a bright light. "SONIC BOOM!" The blue hedgehog announced this without warning.

"POW!" That's when Sonic performed a temporary boost of speed and curled into a ball heading for the enemy.

"Hugh?" Silo yelps from this unexpected action before… "BOOM!/URRRAGH!?" Silo received a powerful tackle move right in the face "Grrraurgh!?" Silo fell and rolled across the ground, slightly injured.

"You better start talking, cause there's more where that came from!" Sonic skid across the other side of the field, determination guiding him to get answers.

"This Game Is Getting FUN! HaHarrrrrh!" Silo laughs off with amusement, as he's ready for round two.

"BOOST MODE!/FOW…" Without warning, Sonic entered hyper-speed mode, surpassing his regular running speed.

"BAM-BAM!/ARrugh!? Arrrugh!?" Silo yelped from each major impact with explosive force that was unexpected. "BOOM!/Urrrgh!?" That last one almost knock him off balance, Silo began analyzing the situation. "Urrgh-Arrrgh!? Power Level Rising - Impossible!?" Silo's instruments were not wrong, the scans show Sonic's aura rose to untold measures.

"FIREBALL SPIN DASH!" Then Sonic performed a Mid-Air Dash move, but the body turned into a fiery projectile.

"KABOOM!/ARRRRUGH!?" Silo yelps loudly as he stumbled backwards from a major explosive hit that dealt extra damage. "Target Has Exceeded Calculation! Danger Of Destroying Unit Recognize!?" Silo was witnessing Sonic's potential to be an actual threat. "Countermeasures Engage: Preparing To Wipe Out Entire Area Of All Life Force!" The enemy was ready to destroy everything all over.

"Hugh?" Sonic was on the ground after his attack but heard what Silo said. "I don't like the sounds of that?" If Silo is gonna wipe out life forms, then that means he'll target the Resistance or anyone else.

"Life Forces Detected! Engaging Missiles!" Silo announced as he ready his arsenal.

Silo launched his missiles in the air, as they were about to scatter all over. But then a strange light-green aura surrounded the missiles, and guided them upwards to the sky. "BOOM!" And they collided and destroyed each other in a big blast covering the sky.

"What!?" Silo yelped from what happened that was not apart of the plan.

"Woah!? How did…" Sonic was puzzled, that was not what he expected.

"Sonic!" Then Sonic turns to see Sticks landing nearby on the scene.

"Sticks!? Don't tell me that was you…?" Sonic raise an eyebrow, uncertain if the badger girl had something to do with stopping Silo's attempt to wipe out life forms around them.

"Nope! But I did happen to come across someone who offered to help." Sticks smiles confidently with a thumbs up while looking up.

That's when something was hovering in the air emitting a glowing light green aura. It was a male anthropomorphic hedgehog with very light gray fur, with white fur on his chest surrounding the neck with gold eyes and tan skin. Two large spines at the back of the head, while at the front of the forehead there's five distinct spines flared up and back, the two outermost ones almost completely obscuring the ears. He wears white gloves with cyan circles with lines sticking out of the bottom leading to the golden bracelets accented in cyan. The tops of the boots are of a similar fashion with a red gem set in gold. The rest of the boots are navy blue, white, and cyan. This character was Silver The Hedgehog, a hero from 200 years into the future and a user of psychic abilities.

"WAaarrrrhh-WAaaarrrrhhhh!?" Silo yelps from being lifted off the ground as his body glowed when Silver held his hands to levitate the giant. "CRASH!/Arrrugh!?" Then Silo was dropped down hard on the ground afterwards.

"Silver, boy are you a sight for soar eyes!" Sonic smiled with joy, seeing this guy was a major boast to his day.

"It's good to see you Sonic. I'm here to offer assistance. However much I can offer." Silver smiled while offering to help out, catching an enemy off guard like this would improve any situation.

"Well your certainly rocking his world." Sonic scratch his nose to remark how Silo must have felt: a giant being played around by not one, but two tiny hedgehogs.

"Both of you need to listen! You each have a Gaia Gem!" Sticks interrupts to explain something to both hedgehogs that heard this. "If you wanna win, and I mean REALLY Win and END this fight! You gotta COMBINE your abilities and hit the Mega Zen-Monster with everything you GOT!" Sticks was very serious, because she knew that if they had any hope, it's now with these two.

"What!? But I just started using mine you gave me and said it could hurt these Zen-Monsters?" Silver exclaim puzzled, showing the Gaia Gem he had which turn into a silver color gemstone.

"Well no time like the present to learn on the road." Sonic shrug off that when the going gets rough, they gotta go with the flow.

"Uurragh!?" Silo slowly got up after recovering from what Silver did tossing him like a ragdoll. "Playtime Is Over, Hedgehogs!" Silo prepares to charge in and about to open another missile round

"Time to send this scrapheap back to the junkyard. Ready Silver!" Sonic smirks as he grips his Gaia Gem to release a strong blue light.

"I'm ready…" Silver nods before focusing his energy through the Gaia Gem a bright silver light.

"PSYCHIC SPIN SMASH!" Silver and Sonic announced forth a new name out of nowhere of combine moves. At that moment, Silver's psychic powers levitated Sonic as one spins into a ball and the other was controlling a swirling motion around one's self. It was like Silver had a spinning fastball around the body, before unleashing a powerful new move straight at the giant enemy which became a blue sphere of energy.

"BASH!/GRUUAAAARRH!?" Silo yelped when the attack had punctured through his body. "OOrrrrhhh…YOU…LOOOOSE!?" Silo lets loose some moaning cries as sparks emitted out of him while topping down on the ground. "KABOOM!" Then a mighty explosion erupted, signaling the destruction and defeat of the giant mechanical Zen-Monster.

With the battle over, Silver levitated Sonic who was still covered by the psychic aura, as both landed on the ground. Afterwards, Sticks came running over to see the heroic hedgehog duo.

"Yes! I knew it! You are the Chosen Ones!" Sticks cheered with excitement after what she witness.

"Chosen Ones!?" Silver raise an eyebrow, uncertain what this was about.

"She means a Gaia Warrior. You know, the ones that can use those gems she gave out." Sonic points out what he sorta figured the badger girl's issue of what they could do.

"No! I'm talking about 'THE' Chosen Ones!" Sticks issue about her actual claim on what she meant.

"Hugh?" Both blue and silver hedgehogs were completely lost by that statement.

"Wait, Sticks. Back up a bit, you lost us. What did you mean by that?" Sonic was completely in the dark, he thought he understood things but apparently not exactly.

"Dugh, isn't it obvious?" Sticks rolled her eyes as if nobody here was following her earlier words. "In the past, when Lord Zenn first attempted to use Dark Gaia's powers, he nearly succeeded. Kinda like what Eggman almost did but it was more magic then science tech." The girl explains how the real enemy used dark magical powers connected to Dark Gaia to take over the world. "But, he was stopped from when Light Gaia found many brave beings wishing to become warriors to fight. But among them were those that held a special meaning, an 'inner' power. They became Gaia's Seven Champion Heroes Of Light." Sticks went off to explain the great tale of seven heroes that stood out from the rest. "But I think Gaia's Seven Heroes is a much better and shorter vers to go with. Or just Seven Heroes for shorter necessary means." The badger girl exclaim to shrug off after stating how to make the title group be easier to remember.

"Gaia's Seven Heroes?" Silver ponders about this knowledge that was presented to him. "How do you know we're them?" The silver hedgehog wanted to know why Sticks believes he and Sonic are apart of the seven.

"Take a look at your gems. Anything different? If not, then maybe you need a pair of glasses?" Sticks points out what both hedgehogs should be looking at right now. "Wait, maybe it's my eyes that are wrong? Wait a minute!? Do I need glasses? Oh boy, they might fall when I'm fighting, and I don't hit evil doesn't have a problem hitting somebody with glasses?" The badger girl was suddenly lost in her own random and lost thoughts.

While Sticks went on, Sonic and Silver did take a closer look at the Gaia Gems they had. It seems that the gems grown bigger in size to resemble crystals, and a tiny magical sphere was at the center.

"The gems seem bigger? From something tiny too, well this?" Sonic was utterly surprise, he never even noticed the change until after the battle was over.

"There's a stronger aura of energy in the center." Silver was amazed and felt a strong force within the center of the crystal.

"Yes! They became Gaia Crystals. Think of them as being ten times stronger then the gems themselves. That's proof that you are one of the chosen seven." Sticks pointed out her evidence of what was the proof was in the pudding, sorta topic. "You are something special, and from what you just unleashed took out a Mega Class Zen-Monster. Need I say more, cause I could go on, but by then it'll be annoying." Sticks exclaim while making another random and crazy issue that went off topic.

"Sweet! Looks like we may have a better chance at stopping Lord Zenn from turning everyone on the planet into horrifying movie monsters." Sonic smiles with renew hope that maybe this was the key to finally having a better chance at stopping a new threat.

"Sticks, you said only seven champions were chosen from the rest. Does that mean there are five others out there?" Silver was curious about there being seven capable of stopping Lord Zenn and his monsters.

"Yes indeed, and finding them is the most important step!" Sticks firmly nods with arms cross that what Silver said was correct. "But finding out which person is one of the Seven Heroes is not easy. They could be anyone or have even turn into a Zen-Monster! Which will be tough to assemble them if they're trying to fight us?" The badger girl was scratching her head from trying to figure out how they handle such a situation.

"Well we can look for them along the way while stopping these Zen-Monsters all over the planet." Sonic firmly nods his head on what they can do along the way in their search. "Let's start by rescuing Mach!" The blue hedgehog issue that the first thing to do, is rescue another friend in trouble.

"You mean the Rookie who helped us with the Resistance?" Silver ponders who Sonic was talking about.

"Yeah the very same, problem is we don't know where that Silo guy took him. Any thoughts?" Sonic needed help, he could end up running in circles if he didn't have a destination to find where Mach got taken to.

"When I brought Sticks here and some of the other Resistance members, I did see something strange hovering above us. But I put it aside when seeing you had your hands full." Silver held his chin to think about this for a minute of what he recalled when coming to Sonic's aid. "It could be a clue." If what he saw was evident of where a flying robot Zen-Monster took Mach to, it's worth checking out.

"Great, then let's go forth!" Sonic nods the head, eagerly ready to go.

"What about them?" Silver looked back as the group saw the Resistance members arriving.

"Well if they wanna join us, who's stopping them. Anyone else need a ride?" Sonic smiled to offer anyone to help them along the way.

"We wanna help, but we fear we only get in the way." A female rabbit sadly shook her head about joining.

"We'll provide some clean up on the ground until you get back." A male wolf stated on what they can properly do while the others are away.

"Don't worry, we'll be back. And hopefully the Resistance can provide support in reclaiming areas that have been taken over." Silver nods to those wishing to stay, knowing the heroes will need lots of help all over the planet.

"We may need the others to help out. Knuckles and Amy really help organizing them, we'll have to find them along the way." Sonic ponders about getting more of their friends to help reorganize the Resistance if they wanna put up a good fight. "How about you Sticks? Wanna join us to invade an enemy's sky base?" Sonic turns to invite the badger girl to tag along.

"Well I'm concern about this being a trap? Then again, maybe this Mach guy is one of the Seven Heroes?" Sticks was contemplating on which was the right thing to do. "Ahhhh, which do I choose? HOW DO I CHOOSE? It's so Frustrating?" The badger girl held her head, unable to decide which was right.

"So, you coming or staying?" Sonic raise an eyebrow, uncertain if Sticks would pick a simple yes or no reply.

"Ehhh, fine. Beats overthinking anyway." Sticks shrug off the shoulders, deciding to just go along then overthink things.

"Alright Silver, take us up please." Sonic smiles to thumbs up their friend to get them up in the air.

"Everyone hold on!" Silver issue for those to be ready for what comes next.

Soon Silver levitates himself, Sonic and Sticks up into the air. The Resistance members give their farewells and wishing the trio good luck on their mission. The scene fads out around this moment…

MEANWHILE

IN A DARK LAB

"So, Silo was destroyed?" A voice was heard as a monitor displayed Silo's destruction. "I should have guess it, those are the ones responsible." The monitor revealed Sonic and Silver hovering in the air after having won the battle. "Well, they are about to get a rude surprise when they get here." The monitor was shut off, as the dark figure moves away…

Some lights began to turn on, revealing what looks like some experiment laboratory chair. And we spot Mach strapped to the white chair, as he slowly was regaining himself.

"Ahh, your awake?" The voice replied upon seeing Mach finally woke up.

"Wait…I recognize that voice…" Mach exclaim from knowing who was speaking to him.

Coming into the light was something that was 30 feet tall robot. It had red, black, and chrome with an orange metal mustache and spikes all over its body's joint areas. There were rocket launchers on back with had jets underneath. Plus black visor for where the eyes would be located. The design seems similar to what Eggman himself looks like and the clothing pattern but had grey metal boots, hands, and head.

"Hugh!? Doctor Eggman!?" Mach yelped upon seeing Sonic's arch-enemy.

"Yes And No…" The one address as Eggman replied but in a puzzling case.

"What?" Mach raise an eyebrow, not following.

"Indeed, I WAS Eggman, but I'm so much more now." The robot creature issue while walking around the restrain rookie. "I'm now EGG BEATER, the Greatest Zen-Monster of Robotic Might and Genius with an I.Q. over 600!" The guy reintroduced himself as the new and more evil version of Doctor Eggman.

"Isn't that just doubling your own IQ?" Mach raise an eyebrow, puzzled about the slight difference.

"Joke all you like, because very soon we're going to have guest stopping by." Egg Beater issue about what's coming for them to meet.

"Guest?" Mach raise an eyebrow after hearing that one.

"A blue and silver hedgehog. Recognize them?" Egg Beater had a nearby monitor reveal Sonic's group heading towards their location.

"Sonic! Sticks!? And Silver too!?" Mach recognize each character, including the new face. "Hugh, looks Sliver came to help, but looks like Sticks is holding the legs like she never flew?" The guy saw Sticks reacting to hold Sonic and Silver's legs like a wild child not use to such oddball flying.

"Well she maybe dangling her faith on riding those hedgehogs, but soon they'll all fall." Egg Beater remarked on what's about to happen to the heroes. "And you'll be the instrument of their destruction." He pointed to Mach of what he'll do when the heroes arrive.

"Wait, am I gonna be turn into like…You!? A Zen-Monster?" Mach was concern about what was about to happen to him.

"That's a given, but I'm a bit intrigued by something curious?" Egg Beater exclaim of a hidden agenda that cross his mind. "What would happen if Magic and Science were mixed together?" He stated about uniting two different fields into one.

"No need. I've seen your previous attempts, they never work out. Ask Chaos or Dark Gaia if you need further proof." Mach protest from recalling the failed events when Eggman used his science and technology to control magic.

"True, but this is different." Egg Beater remarked from having a different plan in motion. "I'm talking about a fusion of magic that effects and changes the body, followed by some mechanical additional components. Lord Zenn's random bolts certainly do the trick, however if he was free they be more concentrated. But I like to be a bit more of a visionary on what results I can get out." If this bot had a mouth, it be cracking an evil grin about now.

"Ugh!? Wha are you gonna…" Mach yelps slightly, fearing that he's about to be experimented on.

"Just relax, and very soon your friends will get a big surprise…" Egg Beater exclaim as he was activating some devices. "I'll certainly be surprise in what I can create here." The evil robot stated as strange tools above the ceiling came down near Mach: cables displaying dark purple magic mist and the other a techno-goop energy substance.

"No-No…" Mach tried to fight himself free, but it was no use. "AHhhhhh…." He screams as the camera zooms away as strange cables attach to the wolf.

The scene goes dark as Egg Beater watches the poor creature struggle, as his cries soon turn into a monstrous roar. When the heroes arrive, they will soon face something that might prove too much for them to handle. What has become of Mach The Wolf, that remains to be seen…

NOTES: Mach The Wolf is an OC based on an image of what would be made of the Avatar from Sonic Forces game as the Custom Character brought into a new light. Picture his appearance is matching that of Gaomon from Digimon series and from the Data Squad anime show.

Egg Beater is base on Sonic Archie's comic version.

*Plus another theme of what the villain was gonna do in an experiment has a similar reference that happened in the Sonic Archie Comic series. The answer will be revealed next time.

Noted Fact: The Seven Heroes are going to be revealed in the progress. So if your curious who it's going to be (outside of Sonic and Silver), each one will appear at different times during the story progress event until all seven are revealed.

***SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: As I'm making this special story taking place after Sonic Forces, it got me thinking about the Avatar. There are so many different types of what everybody created and name, it's pretty much like an Original Character, AKA OC existing in the Sonic universe. So during the progress of this special made game version fanfic story, if anyone would like to have their own Avatars be added then first must follow through some steps.

*RESISTENCE MEMBER:

Name: (Name for your own OC Avatar)

Appearance: (Anthropomorphic Animal that exist in the Sonic series)

Personality: (The character's personality explain. Also extra handy to explain, can be like another character from some series/game/film)

Powers/Abilities: (Mention what sort of skills they bring to the table. From once ordinary citizens to those that had different jobs to contribute to the Resistance by becoming soldiers. Maybe even if they wield Wispons if they were soldiers on the frontline or working behind the scene. They may even have some talents that are just hobbies that make them different from others)

Weapons/Equipment: (This one talks about what items one has. Now pretty much the Wispons are the focus handheld weapons from Sonic Forces and there were different equipment from casual wear, uniform, or custom armor gear. So equipment can be some extra stuff worn on in appearance along with items not seen or mention. And lastly, weapons might be some extra stuff outside Wispons, like the weapons from Shadow The Hedgehog game.)

Bio: (Review history of what they were before the war with the Eggman Empire. Go over maybe some things of different mission objectives, success and/or failures, what obstacles had to be faced, etc. And what happened after the war was over, what did they do next.)

After The War: (What they are doing until Lord Zenn's announcement of conquering the planet and turning every creature into Zen-Monsters.)

*ZEN-MONSTER TRANSFORMATION: For some fun ideas, especially for any fans of Power Rangers series. Would one like to see the heroes face off transformed Zen-Monster versions of one's own Avatar OCS. It can be upon the meeting or after witnessing them being transformed. After a battle, get reverted to normal. Picture it's like the actions seen from Malevolence in Tales of Zestiria/Berseria that infects someone and then after being defeated, are purified and return to who they once were. And there we go, now OC Avatars many fans of Sonic Forces have played can witness their action in this fanfic. Envision and imagine to the hearts content, even picturing some that have turn into monsters. It's so crazy and so exciting, who wouldn't want to see it. Boy, just when getting a new ally, something unexpected happens. In the next chapter, Sonic's group arrive at a flying fortress packed with endless machine type Zen-Monsters. While fighting them off, Sonic finds himself in a tough spot. Because now he's not just fighting enemies, but now he'll have to fight…against a friend. Mach has been turn into something that looks like a flying mutated cyborg version of the wolf's self. The dark magic and science tech has made a deadly fighter. Even if the gang can safely rescue the Rookie, what happens when facing another enemy that's slightly stronger then what Sonic and Silver can handle? And who may show up when the chips are down? Better stay tune to find out.
