Well dear viewers and Sonic fans, it's been a long wait since I last posted. So here's a new chapter of which is sure to catch much attention. So pay close attention, cause there will be more exciting stuff to come. Of course have to be patient, as these things will take some time. Until then, enjoy the chapter below…

Chapter 03: Nine Tails Of Trouble

NEAR A RUIN SITE

The scene opens to what appears to be the remains of what was a constructed temple. But it seem like some large portion of it was removed by an unknown force. However, what was the main focus was some hidden tunnel entrance leading deep underground. At this moment, Egg Beater was walking on the scene, observing the entrance. Then an alert flash across his visor with 'Enemy Detected Nearby' in white bold words.

"So Kaboom failed, why am I not surprise at this point?" Egg Beater ridiculed about how the one Zen-Monster who should have won, failed him too.

"Give it up Egghead! Whatever you're after, you can forget it!" Sonic was seen dashing to a stop, accompanied by Silver levitating himself and Sticks down to join the blue hedgehog.

"Oh, really?" Egg Beater remarked as he turns to face the crowd with one hand behind his back. "And just because you defeated the Robot Zen-Monsters I had at my disposal, you think I'm cornered?" He remarks about not feeling that he's lost even if it meant his whole army was beaten.

"Don't play koi, and seriously…if you think it's a fishy game, then I rather not play. I haven't had much a shot at winning Go Fish!" Sticks remarked off before randomly getting off track about her trouble with understanding a card game.

"We know you're after something in the ruins here! It must be important that you destroyed your base of operation." Silver firmly stated on knowing what this guy was mainly focused to acquire no matter the cost.

"My money's on one thing that could get the doc so interested." Sonic exclaim from knowing the Eggman character all too well. "A Chaos Emerald." He smirks to reveal the truth on what Egg Beater is most likely after: one of the seven emeralds of great power that they been fighting over from time to time.

"Well it seems you got the idea rodent, so I'll tell you what you want to know." Egg Beater exclaim with a calm approach before going into details. "There is indeed a Chaos Emerald in this place, and soon…it will be mine! And you best stay out of the way or else!" The evil robot boast while threatening those not to cross him on his big plan.

"Or else what? Sick another robot at us?" Sonic gave a sly smirk while remarking how they can handle any bot the doc throws at them.

"Hohohohoooo…I got something even BETTER!" Egg Beater laughs off evilly to have a surprise on hand.

That's when Egg Beater brought forth his hidden hand behind the back, and revealed that it held a living creature that struggled to get free. It was a young, anthropomorphic fox cub with a unique genetic mutation giving him two tails instead of one. He has mostly amber fur with white fur around his muzzle with cheek tufts, front torso with fluffy fur on top of the chest, and the tips of the tails. Also has sky blue color eyes, large triangular ears with white canals on top of the head, a small black nose, and three locks of hair on the forehead. This guy was known as Miles 'Tails' Prower, but everyone calls him Tails. He is the best friend and sidekick to Sonic, capable of using his twin-tails to fly by rotating them like helicopter rotors and he's a mechanic genius and aerial pilot.

"TAILS!" Sonic and Silver shouted together while in shock.

"Ugh…Sonic?" Tails struggled to get free while calling out Sonic's name.

"That's right! When I came here, this two-tail fox discovered a large energy reading matching a Chaos Emerald." Egg Beater remarked what events happen upon his arrival and who he meant. "While you might have been fast to catch the old Eggman off with your tricks, I have a 600 I.Q. I have anticipated every step you try." The guy was ranting and boasting on having cover every base without any mistake.

"Really, like what?" Sticks raise an eyebrow to ponder what the enemy could be talking about.

"My scans will alert me of any fast speed by Sonic and a sudden energy of Silver's telekinetic powers. As for you…" Egg Beater remarked on having known his enemies strengths to be cautious. "Heh, your not even a threat. So there's nothing you three can do about it!" He taunts Sticks and knows that nothing can stand in his way.

"True, we can't…but maybe someone else we know can." Sonic's calm and confident grin returns after having mention this.

"WINNING KNUCKLE!" Then a loud voice was heard having announce an attack. "POW!" Without warning, Mach the Cyborg Wolf charged by his rocket engines to deliver a powerful fist punch to the enemy's face.

"GRRAAaughh!" Egg Beater was shot across the ground while having unwilling release Tails.

"Ugh!?" Tails hit the ground front body first and ached from the rough landing.

"You okay bud?" Sonic zipped over to kneel and check if Tails was good.

"Yeah, a little sore, but I been through worse." Tails lightly smiled from looking happy to see the blue hedgehog again and for the quick save.

"Grrrr…." Egg Beater slowly got back on his feet, then stared at who attacked him. "YOU! How Dare You Attack Your Creator!" Egg Beater snapped in rage, feeling like after what he did, Mach would strike him.

"You turn me into this, but Sonic and the rest freed me!" Mach protest from knowing precisely who the guy was that he force the wolf to fight his friends. "If it means I can dish some payback, then I'm more then a match against you!" He got into a boxing battle pose, ready to go into round two.

The tide seem to have turn with Egg Beater having lost his hostage advantage and being outnumbered. However while this went on, no one saw something looking down at the group. That's when the mysterious user held an object…then directs white bolts of lightning to the heroes.

"Hugh!?" Tails suddenly noticed what was coming down without warning. "SONIC! WATCH OUT!" Tails pushed Sonic out of the way, but had no time to react. "BZzzz…./AAAAaaahhhhh!?" Tails screamed as white electric jolts course through him.

"TAILS!?" Sonic yelled out from horror upon seeing the fox caught in some electric pillar prison.

That's when all eyes saw something hovering in the air before a flash of lightning in the skies reveal the figure. The mysterious black cloaked figure who's uniform consists of a single black leather hooded coat. It's plainly adorned with a silver zipper and seemingly pointless silver beaded pull strings for the hood that form a semi-circle in the middle. What was interesting was that the body figure was resembling a human-like female. And while the sleeves cover the hands and the feet were not seen. Lastly, this female figure wields what looks like a scythe. The handle is long, pastel green, and curved. There are two small, gold rings near the top of the handle. There's a small, black section at the base of the handle, and an equally small, gold section just above that. The main blade is curved, rose pink, and has black under edges. There is another vaguely oval-shaped blade attached to the top of the handle. This smaller blade is also rose pink with black edges. The two blades are connected by a cross shape that is white with gold and dark rose pink edges. The overall design gives it the appearance of a plucked flower.

"What…Another Zen-Monster!?" Silver raise an eyebrow, shock that there was another foe lying in wait.

"HUGH! NO…IT'S WORSE THEN THAT!?" Sticks yelp upon recognizing who this enemy was, and she seem as white as a ghost. "She's…A ZEN-EN Witch!?" The badger girl shouted from announcing the name of this mystery foe.

"A what?" Silver raise an eyebrow, completely lost.

"A Zen-En Witch, I thought it was impossible for one to exist. But apparently I was wrong!?" Sticks was completely out of the loop, she never thought such things would show up now of all times.

"Oh yes, quite so." Egg Beater spoke as many looked to hear him out. "You see, the sign of spotting a witch like her, means that Lord Zenn has given one a special place to serve him. In fact, compared to any of us Zen-Monsters, their power is closer to rival Lord Zenn in the arts of dark magic. They serve as his inner unit for the emperor of evil." Egg Beater explain that one who has been chosen by Lord Zenn, can become a rising new foe that works with a great and powerful new ruler.

"They're stronger then the Zen-Monsters!?" Mach exclaim in shock, that means that all the other Zen-Monsters that would give them trouble are below a Zen-En Witch.

"Oh yes, and it looks like she's aiding to control the wild dark magic in the sky." Egg Beater issue forth from studing what the witch was currently up to. "Which means she can channel Lord Zenn's power in a more focus attempt to help give birth to any Zen-Monster. Even make one even stronger the more lightning one collects into a single strike. Including your little pal…" The robot foe explain the situation to which would leave many shock to believe such a thing.

Slowly Tails was showing signs of where white and dark energy was overlapping him, and then the entire body lit up. The little fox was growing, in fact his shape was changing with every jolt, even the shape was altering to become something else. What seem like a small fox grew into a human-like creature, the muzzle grew forth, and the wagging tails split into four, then eight, and then…a bright flash. Once the bright flash ended, a large smoke cloud covered the area that cut off Sonic's group and their enemy's side. And as everything became clear, all witness what had stood in the place of Tails. A Mega-Class Zen-Monster, it was a red-orange colored kitsune type fox. There was black fur around its red eyes that stretch up to its ears, and nine long swiping tails. Has an upper-body structure of a human, complete with opposable thumbs on its clawed hands. Over all, this giant creature was likely 80 to 90 feet tall and its pupil alone is bigger than a tall human when brought close by.

*NINE-TAILED FOX*

-KURAMA-

"Grrrr…." The nine-tailed fox growls when gazing down at the little creatures before it's sight.

"T-T-Tails!?" Sonic was utterly speechless to see what happen to his bud.

"What's…happen to him?" Silver was almost utterly in fear, never seeing such a horrible transformation until now.

"He is no longer who you use to know." The mysterious Zen-En Witch spoke with a light voice when addressing Tails' transformation. "Now, he is The Nine-Tailed Fox: Kurama." The witch announced what Tails has become after becoming a Zen-Monster.

"GRAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Kurama released a powerful roar so loud, it shook the entire valley and made many cover their ears from it's painful wail.

"Well that's my que to get going! Enjoy surviving this, Hohohhoooo…" Egg Beater issue forth before flying into the hidden ruin entrance.

"Stop!" Mach stopped himself between looking at the escaping villain and his friends in trouble. "What should I do? Should I stay and help fight?" He ponders to think which was the correct choice to make in this split decision

"No! You gotta go stop Eggy from getting what he wants! And hurry! We'll hold this fox back!" Sticks instructs the guy to focus on preventing whatever other trouble Egg beater was planning.

Mach was unsure about this, but he knew that they can't focus on both Egg beater and a Zen-Monstrous Tails at the same time unless they split up. So Mach follows after Egg Beater into the hidden ruin entrance while Sonic, Silver and Sticks prepare to face off against Tails. Course there were a lot of thoughts racing through those that know the two-tailed fox, this seems very wrong.

"Sonic, I know this isn't gonna be easy? Are you sure we can handle this?" Silver

"We got to Silver, the last thing we need is Tails attacking any populated areas. Even if we bring him back, my little pal might have some guilt." Sonic

"Hey! Can we talk after dodging them claws! Teeth?! And them Tails!" Sticks

"GARRRUUOOOOHHHH!" Suddenly without warning, Kurama roared but at the same time…channeling a large amount of dark energy into a sphere in the mouth. "POW!" Then he fires it forth, Silver immediately levitated Sonic and Sticks out of the way of the large sphere. "KABOOOOOOOOOM!" But when it hit a nearby mountain, caused a huge explosion that released so much wind pressure like a terrible storm brew around.

"No way….when could a Mega Class Zen-Monster do that!?" Silver raise an eyebrow in pure shock, that much destruction is on another level.

"Sticks, any ideas?" Sonic looked to the one that usually has intel on how bad Zen-Monsters can be.

"What am I, a book on Encypthdios or something? No wait, can my brain handle that much?" Sticks ponders to think about the matter which left her uncertain. "It's possible that he's been super charge, or that the more innocent he was, the more deeper evil that can rise, or maybe…"

"Sticks!" Sonic cut in to stop the badger girl from getting off track. "How about a means to stop him?"

"Alright-alright, we got only two choices to try. Defeat this Nine-Tailed Fox or use a Gaia Gemstone to purify the evil." Sticks held up her arms to state the only course of action they have left to take.

"Think it'll work like with Mach?" Silver asked Sticks if the same method they used might work out.

"I wouldn't go so far to say yes, Mach was complicated with those cyborg components. Tails is different in a more untampered state, but unless we try something…this guy will level enough cities to become a fox's hunting turf." Sticks was very uncertain about how to go as far as to say the chances are 50 at best.

"Then let's not waste time!" Sonic issue forth as he looked to the giant nine-tailed fox beast. "Hang tight Tails, we'll get you back!" Sonic made a promise to save his little buddy from this state.

"GRAAAAAARRRRRAAAHHHHHH!" Karuma roared so loudly it could be heard all over, as the three heroes prepare to battle this dangerous Nine-Tailed Fox Monster.

INSIDE THE RUINS

The battle could be heard as loud explosions and shakes caused many dust and dirt to fall from the stone ceiling inside the old temple ruins. We focus to find what looks like an old altar spot for a ceremony theme. And Egg Beater approach from the hallway of bright floors to a much older room where the altar laid out.

"To think the fools wanted to reconstruct these old Gaia Temples after Light Gaia summoned them to construct it's gigantic body to take down Dark Gaia? It's a wonder knowing the difference of age old stone and newly constructed." Egg Beater remarked from looking at the little effort some folks did after the Gaia event pass. "No matter, I see the prize ahead." That's when the bot found an altar and approach it.

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" A voice was heard across the hallway.

Then jetting through to land just inches away from the enemy, was Mach. Now the Cyborg Wolf got into a battle pose, ready to engage.

"Really!? You're here to spoil the greatest achievement and that's what you come up with? Then again, your no Sonic!" Egg Beater remarked from having seen one hero act, you've seen just about them all.

"I may not be, but I'm more then enough to take you down and prevent anymore of what you've done today!" Mach issue to get himself ready to fight and stop this bot.

"Really? I thought you be too busy helping your friends stop that Monster Fox from wiping them and any city off the face of the world!?" Egg Beater ridicule Mach for leaving the others to fight a monster that could wipe out a whole city wide population.

"They confirm that they can handle the task, and I will not let you take the emerald that's here!" Mach protest as he was raring to ignite and launch his own version of the dogs of war.

"Bold words little fido. But the emerald is not the only thing I'm after." Egg Beater exclaim to reveal a shocking twist of objectives.

"What?" Mach raise an eyebrow, finding this a bit puzzling and concerning.

"Hidden in this temple, Light Gaia left something to help the Gaia Champions." Egg Beater issue to mention what's here that's intended to be found by the warriors of Light Gaia. "Once it's gone, then it won't matter how many Gaia Warriors the Resistance has. It won't amount to anything." The bot remarks on how a simple removal of the equation will result in the downfall and rise of Lord Zenn's rule.

"If there is indeed a weapon that can help, then I shall bring it to my friends." Mach proclaim that he will not leave without obtaining such a valuable item.

"Oho, so you mean to challenge me?" Egg Beater laughs as if finding such a challenge amusing.

"You made me become your ultimate weapon, now it's time you got a taste of it!" Mach issue from gripping his fist, ready to punch this metal egg's lights out.

"As much as I like to try that, I have other matters to attend to…For starters." Egg Beater issue to say as his visor flash briefly for a moment before…

"Bzzz…/AAahhhh!?" Without warning, Mach was yelping from a sudden jolt of sparks causing him to collapse on the ground.

"Did you really think I wouldn't install a failsafe in my own creations? Including your cyborg components." Egg Beater remarked how foolish this cyborg wolf didn't pay such close attention. "I just needed time to hack your cybernetics to trigger this paralyzing state. So you can't even twitch your nose without getting a swift jolt kick." The guy boasted on his technique to truly catch one off guard.

"Grrrr…" Mach glares to growl at the mad doctor that has again, have him in a helpless state.

"Stay put, I need to find what I want, and then deal with you. Who knows…" Egg Beater exclaim as he turns away from Mach briefly. "I might just try to reprogram you all over again. Hohohohoho…" He lets off an evil laugh before studying the altar.

MEANWHILE

THE BATTLE RAGES ON

The scene changes to the loud explosive action as parts of the mountain and hill zones were destroyed. The reason was because Kurama was charging to attacking the speedy Sonic and Silver levitating himself and Sticks away from the ruins. They wanted to get the Zen-Monster away so they could come up with a plan to take the big problem down while giving Mach a chance without causing the temple to collapse with the Cyborg Wolf inside.

"Sonic, I'm going to try to hammer down a few large objects." Silver issue what his next plan of attack pattern will be.

"Alright, but try not to go too far, we wanna try to get through, not knock Tails out." Sonic request they try to not beat the stuffing out of poor Tails, it's not his fault from being turn into a monster.

"You don't have to worry about that, Zen-Monsters are tough. Usually it take a lot of effort to defeat them and return them back to whatever they were, plant, animal, even human." Sticks stated on knowing that if any innocent soul was turn into a monster, defeating them will reverse the process.

"She may have a point Sonic, we have to fight without holding back or else Tails might never return back to us." Silver encourages Sonic to trust in Sticks' judgement and for Tails' own sake.

"Yeah, I just hope it's the right choice." Sonic stated on wanting to know he's doing the right thing even against his best bud.

"GRAARRRRHAAAARRRRRRRRRHHHH!" Kurama lets off another super loud roar as it began to attack, clawing, biting, and thrashing all over. Everything this savage beast destroyed was too much to say and the heroes had to survive this fast motion of relentless attack patterns.

"Woah! Was this two-tailed fox always this tough, or just tough from the start?" Sticks yelps from almost becoming the fox's next crushed prey on the spot.

"I say it's likely because of being transformed." Silver stated that there's no way the Tails they knew was this dangerously powerful, the dark magic had a hand in such a development.

"Hey Sticks, think maybe giving one of those Gaia Gemstones might just weaken him?" Sonic asked the badger girl on what they can use to help give them a handicap in this situation.

"Don't know, never tried anything like that before. Especially against something this big?" Sticks was very unsure about performing such a task on a scale this large. "But if you can hold him for a few minutes, I might just get something." She issue from wanting to see if there can be any results in such a plan.

No sooner was Sonic and Silver performing any kinds of distractions by speed and distant attack methods. This gave Sticks some time to begin trying her own hand on the scene. But without warning, Kurama turned around to swung it's nine tails forth. And they began to land on the ground with such powerful devastating impacts that were leveling a whole field.

"WOAH!?" Sonic managed to zip through them falling giant tails and evade them. "Watch out for those Tails!" Sonic called out to warn everyone of what was coming all over.

"Which ones!?" Sticks shouted as she tried to dodge one and just barely didn't get hit by the second.

"ALL OF THEM!" Silver yelled out as he used his psychic powers to levitate and use any debris as a barrier to absorb those tail attack impacts.

Sticks was rushing through what seem like an endless dropping of giant fox tails, you have to be crazy to go through such a dangerous place. But Sticks was pretty much doing it anyway. But it was starting to become too much that the girl yelped from the shock force knock her in the air…only for Sonic to zip in to catch her.

"I got'cha Sticks!" Sonic exclaim from carrying the badger girl while rushing through the flying debris. "Man, if my bro., could do this Tail Tackle thing, that would be something to see?" The guy was pretty surprise by this attack that a single tail swing could do.

"Yeah, except he need to be GIGANTIC!?" Sticks issue off loudly that the only difference was Tails was a giant out of control monster. "Now I just gotta get this right, but I need another distraction." She stated that to perform their crazy plan, she needs the giant monster fox to not notice her.

"One distraction, coming right up! So hold on tight!" Sonic issue to say before Sticks held on tight. "SPIN DASH!" Sonic announce the next move he was about to dish out

That's when Sonic turn into a blurring spinning blue sphere, and shot his energize self upwards. And when Kurama paid the blue blur attention, it was delivered a powerful upper jaw buster shot…. That move was distracting enough that Sticks leap off Sonic just in time top place a Gaia Gemstone right in the left ear space.

"GRAAAARRRUUUARRRRRRHHHH!?" Kurama let loose a super loud screeching scream, as a bright light emitted from the gemstone was causing sever pain to the Zen-Monster.

"Is it working?" Silver raise an eyebrow after witnessing this event.

"Well it's weakening him, but this evil magic's tougher then we thought?" Sticks scratch her noggin from understanding what's happening here. "We gotta hit him HARD and FAST!" She pound her right fist into her left palm after making a statement.

"Fast is my game!" Sonic made a sly smile in knowing how the game is played. "Ready for a team up Silver?" Sonic looked to the guy, awaiting his answer.

"I am, but are you sure?" Silver asked because he'll have to not hold back, even against a transformed Tails.

"To save Tails, we gotta try!" Sonic issue from knowing it's to help free his bud from this situation.

While Sonic spins as Silver channels his powers to supercharge the blue hedgehog, time was needed for this new move. Kurama was seen in pain, it opened it's eyes with blind angry fury at the little targets that gave him such problems. Slowly opening it's mouth, dark magical energy was gathering to form a large dark sphere that brought back unpleasant memories.

"It's preparing that crazy Ball Thing from before!?" Sticks yelps from knowing what's coming, one hit and they might be goners.

"Just a little more now…" Silver issue from focusing all of his psychic powers into this next combo move.

"And hit it!" Sonic gave the signal for them to begin.

"PSYCHIC SONIC BOOM!" Sonic and Silver announced forth a new attack maneuver out of the blue.

"KABOOM!" Silver shot Sonic as a super-size large blue sphere that destroyed the dark sphere while going right through Kurama. "GRAAAAUUURRRAHH….ARRRRRRRHHHH!?" As the mighty monster nine-tailed fox roared, sparks were flying all over before it collapsed… "BOOM-KABLAM!" And then a might big explosion came afterwards that shook the entire temple region….

Soon as the smoke cleared, everyone had quickly rushed through to clouds on the ground. When the smoke cleared, there was something seen that resemble Kurama but smaller. And slowly the dark particles that the monster fox emitted disappeared. And with that, Kurama was slowly reverting back into someone everyone knew…as Tails one more.

"Tails!" Sonic called out while gently lifting a normal Tails up from the ground. "Hey bud, how you feeling?" He asked, making sure that Tails was back to himself again.

"Ugh, like I had the worse nightmare?" Tails groans from opening his eyes and having a really bad headache. "The world kept spinning around and around, and…Hugh, what's this?" That's when the two-tailed fox grabbed what was on him that was uncomfy between one of his ears, a Gaia Gemstone except now….it turn into a Gaia Crystal and was lit as a bright orange color.

"Holy French Toast!? A Gaia Crystal!" Sticks yelped upon seeing what Tails has on him, the gemstone she placed had transformed. "That means your not just a Warrior, but a chosen Champion!" The badger girl was surprised, never expecting someone who was recently turn into a Zen-Monster could also be one of the seven chosen ones they were searching for.

"Hugh, um…can someone explain to me what's going on? Or what happen?" Tails was completely in the dark, uncertain about what's going on.

"It's a long story, but I'll slow it down so you can keep up." Sonic shook his head that what they got is a crazy story to believe.

"POW!" Just then, a bright light escaped from the ground further away from the group.

"That came from the temple!?" Silver stated on where the location originated from. "Something must have happened?" They sent Mach in, but maybe something bad happen instead.

IN THE RUINS

"Yes! Oh YES!" Egg Beater cheered as he was seen holding what looked like a Light Blue Chaos Emerald in hand which emitted energy. "The Chaos Emerald's Energy Has Been Activated! And now, unlock what lies here." He ordered as he forced something around the walls to emit a glow and open a strange hidden compartment complex feature in a slow motion.

"What…are you…truly after?" Mach weakly asked what the guy's aim was even after obtaining an emerald.

"I told you, there was something made to aid the Gaia Champions' Seven Chosen Ones." Egg Beater stated on having to repeat his claims earlier. "Once it's gone, then even if by some slim chance you assemble your champions, they won't mean squat!" He boasted on what awaits the heroes because they won't have a snowball chance of winning.

"You know, for every villain who's said that, it never…works out." Mach struggled to say this while secretly channeling blue energy.

"True, but I'm no mere Villain. And Lord Zenn is beyond normal it's self! Now, reveal to me…the WEAPON!" Egg Beater proclaim while preparing to have the unknown weapon brought before him.

The energy turning the compartment gears continued until the final click was made. And that's when something appeared that took the alter stand from a wall to reveal something place on it. It looked like a hexagon plate and on top of it, resembles an armor warrior model.

"That's it!? This measly object will stand in our way?" Egg Beater berated the tiny object that hardly seem menacing at all. "Well, easy come, easy go!" He shrug off the shoulders and prepares to smash the item…

"HOWLING CANNON!" Mach announced his attack before a blue energy beam was fired from the mouth at the enemy's backside.

"BOOM!/GAAAH!?" Egg Beater yelped as he was knocked against the alter, destroying it but knock the item closer to a slightly standing Mach.

"Heh, that did a number on you." Mach grins as he secretly grabbed the item in question to hid it.

"HOW!? Your system shouldn't attack me?" Egg Beater protest, he had the Cyberg Wolf under his grasp.

"Yeah, well…" Mach then opened his hand to reveal a familiar gemstone he carried. "This gemstone might say I'm no champion, but it can still help me out. Including the strength to beat your control." The Gaia Gemstone cancel the evil dark program that affected him and regain control.

"Grrrr…" Egg Beater growls in annoyance by another irritation.

"Now, to finish this." Mach proclaim as he readies himself to dish out some brawling.

"Yes…let's finish this…But First…" Then Egg Beater did something that was shocking, he placed the light-blue Chaos Emerald into his open chest compartment which closed afterwards.

"What are you doing!?" Mach raise an eyebrow, not understanding this rash action.

"I've installed the Chaos Emeralds into my machines to become more powerful! So who better then myself!" Egg Beater issue on what he's doing that will grant him greater power just as he's done with his machines preciously: except this time, he's not controlling a bot…he IS the Bot.

"But you don't know what the effects might do to you!?" Mach protest, this action was too unpredictable even for the former Doctor Eggman.

"Ohhh…I do…" Egg Beater exclaim as without warning, his body emitted large surges of dark magical energy. "I can feel it….YESSSSSS…" As he spoke, his voice grew darker and his body was growing.

"Hugh?" Mach gasped in shock, as he lightly stepped back with concern worry.

"THE POWER!?" Egg Beater roared off as he was seen about to push the roof off as he continued growing.

"I gotta get out of here!?" Mach issue as he ignited his jets and flew off down the hallway for the exit.

"THE ABSOLUTE…POWER!" Egg Beater announced as his body was undergoing a dark mutated change while becoming completely absorb by untold mix powers of Chaos Emerald and Lord Zenn's dark magic.

BACK OUTSIDE

Everyone soon witnesses a large explosion that erupted from the ground where the underground ruin temple lay. Everyone of Sonic's group approach to stop and witness what has happened. And soon something began to emerge from the underground temple that was very much 80 to 90 feet tall. A darken silver and black theme space-theme mecha robot with spike toes, knee-pads, shoulder pads, and a big disk with spikes on the backside. On the chest was a dome with a red center sphere. The helmet was style like an evil robot invader with wing ear-plates facing crescent style, and a V style red visor for the eyes plus a white mouth guard. Truly it was like witnessing an evil machine like no other….

*GRAND DEATH BOT*

-DARK EGG EMPEROR-

"Um, guys…is that….one of Eggman's Robots?" Tails asked looking a bit worried and afraid of such a machine that was unlike previous Eggman Bots.

"Kinda yes, and kinda no bud. I think it's something much worse?" Sonic shrug off to lightly say what they got, is a completely new threat.

"It's Egg Beater, but what's happen to him?" Silver ponders from not understanding, Ebb Beater was Eggman turn into a Zen-Monster so what is this.

"If I had to put my money on it, which I might have to ask someone for a loan, I say it's a power-up effect." Sticks stated on having to understand just what sort of problem the enemy has become now. "Using a Chaos Emerald must have turn the guy into a Mega Elite Zen-Monsters. And if you thought taking down a Nine-Tailed Fox was bad, this might be the next big thing." The badger girl explain from sensing a great deal from this more advance and powered up enemy unlike previous foes.

"Wait, nine-tailed fox? You don't mean…" Tails was shocked, did Sticks mean that he was…

"Yeah, sorry Tails…we had to fight to get you back to your senses." Sonic apologize to his bud knowing that such a thing is hard to swallow.

"And to be honest, I think we rather have you as an ally then as a monster size enemy." Silver stated their opinion on what they prefer the Tails now compared to earlier.

"Alright boys, save the talking for later. We better start cracking that new egg shell." Sticks started to give a speech like a coach before a big game. "It maybe tough, but with three champions, ehh…I say our chances are almost 50/50." Sticks was doing good until she wiggle her left hand on their chances thus far.

While Sticks' words of encouragement needed working, it was at least enough for the heroes to stand before the towering robot giant.

"Well-well-well, if it isn't the Chosen Heroes!? Allow me to re-introduce myself. A have evolved from Egg Beater, and I'm now…Egg Emperor!" The new bot spoke with a retro mix deep voice, sounding all powerful, boastful, and a bit arrogant.

"You know, I get the feeling you like to use that name a lot for some of your robots? And they end up being totaled in the end." Sonic gave a confident grin to rub salt in a wound about past bots that had emperor in their name.

"True, but this time will be different!" Egg Emperor exclaim that unlike the past version models, the form he has is superior. "I AM YOUR WORSE NIGHTMARE!" He proclaimed in getting himself ready to annihilate all threats.

"Yeah, if I didn't want burn eggs for breakfast." Sonic rolled his eyes on thinking the only thing he's scared of, is burn eggs which he'll make when Eggman here is toast.

"Careful you guys, he's making his move!" Sticks alerts the group from seeing a suspicious action.

"Hmm-Hmm-Hmm…Ahahahahh…" Egg Emperor laughs off evilly while slowly stomping closer to the heroes.

"Sonic, I wanna help out, but I've seen what a Zen-Monster is capable of. Do we have a shot?" Tails was worried if they even stand a chance, normal Zen-Monsters were bad enough, now they got a Mega Powered-Up baddy to fight without warning.

"As long as you have that crystal, you'll be safe from turning evil again, plus give you a chance to fight back." Sticks pointed out what Tails holds will give him a chance to fight back.

"He's coming, I'll get our defenses ready!" Silver issue as he levitates up and performs his Psychic Meteor attack.

"Huurrh!" Suddenly, Egg Emperor defended against the first strike. "HUURH!/POW!" He delivered a first blow strike against Silver's defensive rock barrier to pieces. "GRUUAGH!/POW!" Then the enemy delivered a left hook as Silver brace with a protective force field. "HUR-HUR, HURRRH!" Egg Emperor began to deliver one punch to the next, landing big blows that weaken one's resistance. "GRRARRUUH!/POW!" Then with a mean right punch, pushed Silver backwards.

"Urgh.…NOW SONIC!" Silver cringe from having endured enough before signaling his friend on standby.

"FIREBALL SPIN!" Sonic then was spinning fast enough to turn his body into a fireball and shot straight for the enemy while channeling enough magical force to enlarge the attack.

"GUAArrgh!?" Egg Emperor managed to CATCH Sonic's large spin attack… "HUURRARRH!" Then he swung to toss the blue hedgehog across the site.

"GUuuuohh!?" Sonic was sent skidding across the area without stopping…

"Sonic!?" Tails cried out as he fly to just catch the blue hedgehog from bouncing across anymore of the ground.

"Surrender While You Still Can, HEDGEHOG!" Egg Emperor remarked to give his old foe a chance before he finishes Sonic off.

"Ugh….Yeah, where have I heard that liner before?" Sonic slightly groans to recover a bit and make a joke on the spot.

"You gotta combine your strengths here. Hurry before our gooses are cooked!" Sticks issue to explain what was needed if they wanna stand a better chance to face this foe.

"PSYCHIC SONIC BOOM!" Sonic and Silver quickly reperform the same move that took down one strong foe and shot a powerful blue sphere.

"BOOM!/GRAAAuuuhhh!?" That attack cause an explosive impact when Egg Emperor tried to block it. "Uuurrragh!?" And then something dropped down, a piece of the robot's right hand limb.

"It worked! It breach his defenses." Tails smiled thqat maybe now, this can turn the tide for them.

"A few more and we should be able to take him down." Silver felt like they gotten some hope on winning this now.

"Gruhhahaharrhhh…." However, Egg Emperor lets off a mad laughter without caring for the battle damage. Then without warning, wires and cables came out of the lost hand compartment, and they began to wiggle around. Wasn't long before all them wires were forming into a digitally solid form of the broken hand.

"What the!?" Silver yelps from this unnatural action that was beyond normal means.

"No way!? It grew back? Wait, can robots even do that…I'm so confused?" Sticks held her head feeling uncertain if what they saw was even right or possible for a machine to do.

"Apparently yes…" Tails slightly nods to agree with worry, advance robotics might have such capabilities but infuse with dark magic can make this impossible scene a reality.

"GOOD AS NEW!" Egg Emperor issue to say before turning to Silver who put up a psychic barrier but…. "HUURRGH!/KABOOM!" The sudden claw attack clashed that caused an explosive force around Silver's area.

"AAhhhh…" Silver was knocked down hard onto the ground and skid a bit across.

"Sonic, there's got to be some weak point." Tails turn to a slightly bruise Sonic about what they need to win this.

"Yeah, we just gotta find out what it is?" Sonic slightly nods in agreement, if they expose the weakness then they can turn the battle around.

"KABOOM!/Arrrugh!" Then something charged forth to ram tackle Egg Emperor from the left side without warning as some white-blue blur. "GRRruagh!/POW!" But then Egg Emperor delivered a claw slash that knock the fighter down: it was Mach.

"Mach! You're alright." Silver exclaim surprise to see the guy they thought was hurt show up now.

"Yeah, though this guy nearly buried me under rubble." Mach stated on how things were looking almost grim for him. "But since I'm here, I can help!" He issue to offer aid in finally bringing down Doctor Eggman now as some crazy machine Zen-Monster.

"You insects don't know when your beaten! Yet you keep crawling from beneath my heel. Then in that case, I'm THROUGH playing NICE!" Egg Emperor sounded very irritated and was not about to stand for this. "URAARRRrrrhhhh!" Without warning, Egg Emperor was channeling a large amount of energy and it began to take solid form: into some evil saber blade.

"Oh great, as if fighting against him barehanded wasn't hard enough." Sticks protest upon what she saw this guy was doing and what he brought out. "Now he's got a weapon! Gotta be extra careful now!" She warn the others, knowing it went from bare fist to a sharp blade.

"URRARRRGH!/CLASH!" Egg Emperor swung the saber blade, Silver formed a Psychic Barrier to protect the group that absorb the blow… "HURRARRGH!/CLASH!" But the next attack managed to knock the protective sphere across to the point it broke apart. "Foolish Heroes! Don't You Realize I'M INVIIIIINCIBLE!?" The bot proclaim that nothing the good guys do will make a dent in him.

"Ugh, this guy's really making me mad!" Mach groans from feeling frustrated hearing the enmy boast while kicking them around.

"You said the same line so many times, but you went down every time Egg-Head!" Sonic remark to degrade the boastful ego of the doctor.

"Uh-oh! I see something bad happening in them clouds above!?" Sticks yelps from noticing weird weather occurring during this battle.

"I GOT THIS!" Silver refocused his psychic powers into another barrier before the worse occurred…

Without warning, red bolts of lightning fell down as they were channeled through Egg Emperor's center chest-point and into his saber blade. "POHHHH!/BOOM-BOOM!" A powerful emerald beam of energy was shot from the weapon that caused huge explosions around Silver's barrier. "Crack-Crack…BREAK!" The barrier shattered apart which left the group exposed.

"HUUARrrgh! URRragh! HAARRRUGH!" Egg Emperor swung his sword as Sonic, Silver and Mach quickly scatter to evade them but…Without warning, metallic tentacles stretched out from the enemy's shoulders and then restrain Sonic and Silver in each part. "MUHAHAHAH-AHAHAHAAAAHH!" Egg Emperor let off an evil cackle, as he enjoyed being in control of those that could not escape.

"Oh no!? He's got them both!? They can't break free!?" Tails yelps after witnessing Sonic and Silver are in trouble.

"Aren't you the smart one? You got powers too with that Gaia Crystal! You gotta use it!" Sticks issue to remind Tails that he can do more then stand around watching.

"But if they can't do it, what chance can I do it?" Tails ponders to question the logic of such a thing.

"Sonic tells me that your smart and that if there was something that speed and strength can't handle, then you fill in the gap what he lacks." Sticks issue on what he heard Sonic say about Tails' talent.

"I fill in…the gap? Something within….a center?" Tails took those words in, and began to think something clearly after observing the battle so far.

At this moment, green energy bolts travel down the metallic tentacles, zapping the captives that struggle against this. Mach flew in to try to break his friends free, but they were restrain tightly.

"HURRRAAGHH…GRAAARRRGH!/BAM!" Then without warning, Egg Emperor swung his metallic tentacles up and then bash Mach onto the ground. "HUURRAGH! GAARRRUGH!/BAM!" The enemy was toying around, bashing Mach into the ground because he refused to let go of the chance to free Sonic and Silver.

"Urrgh…" Mach was forced to let go as the hedgehogs struggle to still free themselves.

"Wait, I got it!" Tails exclaim from having brainstorm an idea. "Mach! There's a way we can stop him! But you have to wait for our signal!" He yelled this message out to the cyborg wolf.

"That's great, but…what is it?" Mach slowly picked himself up yet was confused by what the two-tailed fox was planning.

"Something crazy and unexpected. Hold on Sticks!" Tails issue before he spun his tails into a copter and grabs the badger girl.

"Woah!?" Sticks yelps from this action, as they soon took to the sky.

"IT'S OVER! HUURRARRGHHH!" Egg Emperor was preparing to swing his saber blade to deal the final blow to his captured prey…

"CHARGE!" Sticks was heard shouting which earn attention.

"HUGH!?" Egg Emperor turns away from his prize to see Tails holding Sticks as they charge to him through the air. "PEST! BE GONE!" He issued as his visor was glimmering green energy flow. "Pow-Pow-Pow…/BOOM!" Then Egg Emperor fired off plasma sphere fireballs that blew up the area, but Tails continued flying without stopping.

"COMBO: FLASH BANG BOOMERANG!" Tails and Sticks announced as the fox spins while Sticks swung her boomerang super fast: which had flash grenades attached.

"BOOM!/GRRUAAARRRGH!?" Egg Emperor was completely caught off by surprise, the blast impacted his vision and caused sluggishness: During which he released both hedgehogs from the metallic tentacles and accidentally toss his weapon in the air.

"HuuurgH!" Then at that time, Mach was seen flying to catch the saber blade as he used his strength to wield it.

"NOW! AIM FOR THE RED CHEST CENTER!" Tails shouts for Mach to take the chance and hit the weak point of Egg Emperor.

"Heh…Thanks you two! Now I see what you done!" Mach made a small smile across the cheek, as he understood what the signal was to prepare him for this moment. "TAKE THIS…..SPIRAL BLOW!"

"Hmmm!?" Egg Emperor yelped as Mach charged in like a spinning tornado hauling the super-large weapon. "STAB!/GRRUUOOOOHHHH!?/BOOM-BAM!?" That single action penetrated the armor and caused explosions.

"Yes! That's his weak point!" Tails cheered that the plan worked, they managed to weaken the enemy to such a state.

"WATCH IT!" Sticks shouted to alarm Tails of trouble.

"GUURAGH! GARRRH!" Without warning, Egg Emperor used it's free hands to grab hold of Tails and Sticks, restraining them…

"LET…THEM…GO! NRRR! HOWLING CANNON!" Mach growls before channeling a blue energy blast through the open mouth.

"BOOM! BOOM!/GUURGH…NURRRRHHH!?" Despite the damages being done, Egg Emperor refused to release Tails and Sticks even from Mach's attacks destroying the inner portions of the enemy. "HUURRGH! IF I GO DOWN, I'M TAKING YOU WITH ME!"

Without warning, Egg Emperor was seen shooting off into the air with it's captives and Mach holding onto the weapon pierced into the bot. But then suddenly, something appears on the visor of the bot's eyes which displayed a number setting: 02:00:00. And it began to count down like a running digital clock.

"Hey, what's with this weird clock counting backwards?" Sticks tilted her head, confused by this sudden

"Uh-oh! It's a BOMB! He's gonna Self-Destruct!?" Tails gasped upon realizing that Egg Emperor wants to destroy them with him.

"WHAT! I'M Too Young To Get BLOWN-UP!?" Sticks randomly panics and made a crazy statement.

"Grrr…leave it to a villain to destroy himself to destroy his enemies." Mach growls in fury at such a desperate attempt. "I don't know if I alone can free you?" Mach knew that he was about spent, he might not free both Tails and Sticks at the same time.

"Who said you were alone?" Silver's voice was heard as he was seen levitating himself and Sonic to chase after their friends.

"Don't worry gang, your rescue team is here!" Sonic smirks to give confidence that the heroes have arrived to save the day.

"Bold Words! But Forget It! Your Not Strong Enough Now To Penetrate And Free Your Friends From My IRON GRASP!" Egg Emperor protest that no matter what, he will destroy everyone including himself.

"Hmmm…this is?" Mach suddenly noticed a bright blue light coming from him as he pulls something out.

Without warning, the relic item that Mach still held emitted a bright blue light which affected him, Sonic, and Silver. Without warning, they each announced one thing in union…

"COMBO: HEROES OVERDRIVE!" As the trio announced, as they suddenly delivered a rapid barrage of exceedingly powerful semi-Homing Attacks…

"BOOM-BOOM, BOOM!/NOOOOOOO!" Egg Emperor roared in agonizing pain as each attack breach his defenses. "BASH!/I…" As he spoke, Tails was the first freed from a destroyed fist. "BASH!/HATE…" As the enemy spoke, Sticks was freed from the next fist destroyed. "BASH!/THAT…" Then the trio delivered a powerful triple hit right through the chest plate. "HEDGEHOOOOOOOG!?/KABOOOOOOM!" As Egg Emperor unleashed his final cry, he was seen covered in a huge explosion that covered the entire sky view.

As the explosion slowly faded away, the camera focus on something that landed on the ground by a rough landing. Turns out that Silver managed to levitate everyone out of the way of the blast radius.

"Pant…pant…that really took it out of me?" Silver pants from feeling himself completely spent now. "Is, is it over now?" Silver ponders if they have won the battel against such an opponent.

"Knowing after what we just did, I be surprised for a round 3?" Sonic grins with confidence to say they defeated Egg Emperor. "Hmm, this is?" Then Sonic saw something glimmer on the ground, picks up a familiar light-blue Chaos Emerald.

"The Chaos Emerald that Egg Beater installed in himself." Mach recognized the object; apparently it must have been caught with them when escaping the explosion. "Tails told me to hit the center, and that was likely where he kept it." He knew that what powered the Egg Emperor was both the dark magic of Lord Zenn with a boast from the emerald, they were lucky to get it back.

"Few, then if this thing is with us, then we're good." Sticks signs in relief upon realizing what this could only mean: their victory.

"Nice job Tails, looks like we owe you for saving our hedgehog gooses from being cooked." Sonic pats the fox on the back to praise him for his effort.

"Well it was nothing, I just told Mach what to do?" Tails scratch his back head from feeling like it was nothing too big a deal.

"Even so, I have to agree with Sonic. We never won without your help." Silver smiled to praise the young fox as well, they couldn't have won without such help.

"Urgh…." Suddenly everyone turns to see something lying on the ground nearby on it's backside. "I…Hate…That…Hedgehog….ooohhh?" Turns out it was now the regular old Doctor Eggman, having been defeated and reverted back to his original normal self.

"Heh, looks like we got an additional prize along with the emerald. One plain old Eggman." Sonic exclaim to make a joke on having gotten a complimentary prize to boot.

"Are we sure he's back to normal? What if it's a plot?" Mach ponders to think this could be a trick to lower their guard.

"Then let's try a theory." Sticks approach the unconscious Eggman, and placed a spare Gaia Gem in his hand which flash a bit. "Hmmm…the result is in." After she said this, the gemstone remain unchanged except for the red-orange color theme it took. "He's real alright, and now the Gaia Gemstone will keep him from turning into a monster." The badger girl explain what she got and that they can rest easy.

"Hmmm…I have mix feelings about this? It's Doctor Eggman after all?" Mach felt uncertain knowing that Eggman has given them problems times over in the past.

"Right now Eggman isn't our biggest concern, it's Lord Zenn and the Zen-Monsters." Sticks reminds the heroes of the real crisis that needs their attention. "And speaking of which, seems someone else is no longer around." She firmly looked around to see another threat had left them.

"You mean that Zen-En Witch?" Silver stated on knowing the mysterious witch that turn Tails into a Zen-Monster was no longer around. "We were so busy fighting, she must have slipped away? But why that instead of attacking us?" The guy was confused by such a lack of tactic when they were perfect targets to exploit.

"We'll deal with the witch hunt later, after all, we did achieve two things." Sticks brushed off the worries to focus on the important stuff. "Beating the Robot Zen-Monster Unit and finding another of the Chosen Ones. So it's THREE Down, and FOUR to Go!" Sticks proclaim that they made a big achievement on an objective.

"Okay then, so where do we go from here?" Sonic asked where they go after this place.

"Actually, I have a suggestion. How about Metropolis?" Tails suggest a place they can try to go at this time. "We can try going there, and maybe reach a place that has a Resistance base that was working on a project with G.U.N." The young two-tailed fox brought up an interesting topic.

"What kind of project?" Mach ponders after hearing this for the first time.

"What were they working on?" Silver was curious since it was never brought up last time against Eggman's forces.

"I'm not sure. If we can get to Metropolis, maybe we can know more." Tails shook his head that they may learn more after reaching that destination.

"Alright, so I guess we got our next destination, so lets go We might find other Chosen heroes along the way." Sticks exclaim from knowing where they gotta go next on their journey. "Oh, and bring tubby along. No use letting him wonder off." She pointed at the unconscious Eggman lying on the ground.

"I got him!" Mach remarked as he picked up the man with ease; his new physical strength is impressive.

"Okay, so we got our heading. Let's get ready to roll with the flow!" Sonic smiles to quickly get going so that they can get there and do what they do best: beat some bad guys of course.

"Say Mach, maybe when we get the time, I wanna study that relic you found." Tails asked something of Mach from recalling the item Mach acquired emitted a unique energy. "That extra energy it gave us, it might be what can help us." The young fox was eager to discover what else this relic can do that was so important for the enemy to destroy.

"Understood. Will we find the right equipment in Metropolis?" Mach nods while wondering if such things are at the city they are heading to.

"At a Resistance Base, maybe. Let's just hope it's not completely destroyed." Tails exclaim from wishing that they can find something to unlock the secret they obtain.

At this moment the group was heading out with Sonic taking the lead, Mach flying by jets with Eggman in toll plus Sticks riding on his back, followed by Tails using his copter tails and Silver levitating himself. But as everyone left, no one notice the Zen-En Witch watching them from the shadows behind the storm clouds above…

"Run as fast as you can…" The Zen-En Witch proclaim with a sweet, yet ironic tone. "But you won't escape a witch on the hunt…" When saying that, her eyes glowed behind the hood: and there were other pair of eyes that seen stating she was not alone.

The scene went dark from a flash of thunder and lightning in the storm clouds. Whatever threats remain, evil still lingers all over the world. The only hope now lies in the gathering of the Seven Heroes. But will Sonic's group assemble them in time? That is a mystery still in the making…

The Zen-En Witch's basic uniform is base on Organization XIII from Kingdom Hearts. Plays a key role throughout the story's development of hiding what lies underneath.

One line used during Egg Beater's transformation is a reference from Disney's Aladdin film when Jafar turn into a Genie.

The countdown scene is a reference from Galleom from Super Smash Bros. Brawl Game. During which he captured heroes and prepared to take them out with a Subspace Bomb, but failed.

The famous 'I Hate That Hedgehog' phrase used by Sonic's main villain: Dr. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik in many comics, cartoon/anime series, and movies.

*Also the scene of which the line was used is a reference from Archie Sonic Comic Vol.200. During which Sonic fought the Egg Tarantula.

New Update - The Hero Progress: (Think of it as something seen in RPGs after a battle. The number of players in a party, acquiring certain items and intel on gathering a limited number set for collection purpose. This will play important parts in certain future chapters as updates when having completed a theme area before moving onto another. So look forward to these things that'll help in keeping track of progress.)

Well that was a close calling, but there's still a lot more things to come. In the next chapter, making their way to Metropolis the heroes have to pass through a Jungle Area. But there are some evil creatures that walk within the woods, they are almost…Oni-Like!? These horrible Zen-Monster roam about causing unknown terror to citizens that live around nature. Sonic's group encounter them but that isn't the only thing they meet. Apparently they meet a familiar face belonging to a feathery thief. What has truly happen that the gang have come across both trouble…and a Rogue!? Stay tune to find out…
