Recruitment to the Order of the Phoenix, already at a paltry level, plummeted when what remained of Benjy Fenwick was discovered.
An overpowered blasting curse was suspected in his death, though given the bits his body was left in, Walden Macnair's involvement couldn't be ruled out. Benjy had survived several skirmishes before his untimely demise, but no eyewitnesses remained to offer testimony as to what made this battle prove fatal. If one thing could be said for the Death Eaters, it was that they were thorough in disposing of those who opposed them. Benjy's mutilated corpse bore testament to that.
