A.N. — I don't make it a habit to quote the books despite trying to adhere to their canon. But for this birthday woman, I'm making an exception (though without Rowling's caps lock). I'm not as harsh on her as her husband, but still give her drabble some downers.
303. Molly Weasley
People remembered Molly Weasley for her cooking, her many children, or perhaps her temper. She never got credit for mastering the multitude of spells needed to accomplish those things.
As the Burrow gradually became emptier, the Weasley matriarch grew off-kilter. Her talents were left lying fallow for longer and longer stretches, leaving her feeling bereft of purpose and yearning for a full house.
When her family went to war, fear reinvigorated Molly. And when she felled Bellatrix Lestrange in battle with a cry of, "Not my daughter, you bitch!," it ensured nobody ever doubted nor forgot Molly Weasley's prowess again.
