A.N. — There's a Lion-Badger showdown in quidditch either today or tomorrow in canon, more well-known for being interrupted. I had four Hufflepuffs to pick from. I chose the female over the only guy in the character tags because there's not many of the fairer sex in this part of my calendar.
310. Heidi Macavoy
Heidi Macavoy didn't want Harry Potter to plummet off his broom when the dementors swarmed the pitch mid-match; she wasn't a Slytherin! But she was grateful for the distraction it provided.
She, too, balked as the chill from the dementors settled into her bones. The quaffle she'd held while attacking Gryffindor's goal had fallen earthward, forgotten, as Heidi stiffened in the throes of awful memories. The torrents of rain disguised the tracks of tears down her reddened cheeks.
The sickening sight of an opponent sprawled on the grass snapped Heidi out of it. She was a Hufflepuff; sportsmanship came first.
