Disclaimer: I own nothing. D;
Note: This fan fiction is Heidericest. I came up with the word on my own, but have no claim to it, especially considering I wasn't the first to think of the term. This would be Alfons Heiderich and Alter!Edward, considering Alter!Ed as Alfons' brother.
Not everything in this will be written in first person (unless you want me to?), just this beginning bit, probably, which serves as a prologue.
There may be some implied other pairings later on in this, namely Elricest and EdHei.
Also: I'm going to try and get some historical stuff in this one, as may be noted by reading this little bit I have already.

We were born early on in the 20th century. When I say we I mean my little brother and I, of course. I think he, we both were, really, born on a Monday. I'm not sure how I remember…once I met a gorgeous blonde woman-she called herself Madeline, I think-at a University, striving to be an actress. I nearly cried when I found out that she shared the exact same birthday as him. And, me being as inconsiderate as I was, I tried to make myself forget about him, like I often did. Needless to say it didn't work. That's probably why I remembered the days…
But we were born during a bustling time in Europe: There were a lot of war-like things going on (Heck, early on in the year I was born in was when they developed an 'international' distress signal, CQD, though 'my country' chose to use 'SOS'. · · · - - - · · · is much easier, anyway. That became the true international signal the year my baby brother was born.
So I guess you can see partly how we were born during times of war-the Russo-Japanese War, a couple of assassinations here and there, a whole bunch of cities burning down, maybe a bomb or two…
But maybe the times weren't all bad-it was a time of change, that's all. I mean radios were going to be used for entertainment and music, Albert Einstein did some of his best work, and they even invented the ice-cream cone! Heaven forbid we live without that.
But so it was no real surprise that our parents were a bit paranoid (damn it, I can never forgive them, not now!), and really every one should have seen what was coming…
…I guess my brother and I were just too young and naïve for that…
