Rodolphus was friends with all his fellow purebloods in Slytherin, but only Bellatrix Black commanded his attention.
She too was part of Tom Riddle's burgeoning group of like-minded individuals plotting change. Rodolphus found himself drawn to her vivacious nature, but Bellatrix paid him no mind; her fanaticism was for Riddle alone. They both had been ensnared by the sibilant words Riddle spoke, and took his Mark once Hogwarts ended.
