323. Doris Crockford

A.N. — This was a great request from a while back, and here was where I slotted it in. August 1, her only canon appearance, was understandably taken by a more important character. I also must announce that I've filled in the last open dates in my outline; no more requests.

323. Doris Crockford

Doris Crockford was a dilemma.

Her reaction to meeting him was everything Harry had dreaded about re-entering the magical world. But her fawning over him also served as an ego boost. It was a pleasant change from the Dursleys, who wanted nothing to do with him. Doris liked Harry, sight unseen.

So did the rest of the Leaky Cauldron's patrons, from the looks of it.

For every person that shook Harry's hand, it seemed Doris took another turn. It at first bemused, then worried Harry. Surely Doris was an outlier; not everybody would be so... enthusiastic about seeing him, right?
