A.N. — Today I actually cover the the lopsided Ravenclaw-Hufflepuff quidditch match I previously referenced. The spotlight character was the fellow I said was included in the character tags when I chose to do Heidi Macavoy. So, apologies to Anthony Rickett and Herbert Fleet, who will remain on the bench forevermore.
330. Malcolm Preece
Being in the "leftover" house was bad enough, but Malcolm was used to that. Hufflepuff being a laughingstock at quidditch was a harsher pill to swallow.
Cedric Diggory was new to the team and its captaincy. That inexperience showed through in his Badgers' erratic play . Malcolm was a Chaser, but the name "Preece" on the back of his jersey was doing precious little of it. Ravenclaw was executing an expert game of keep-away with the quaffle, and the score was getting run up in their favor. Malcom was exhausted: physically, from pursing the opposition, and emotionally from the sound drubbing.
