New Beginnings
It's amazing how quickly life changes. One minute you're in your hometown, hanging out with your friends; next thing you know, you're all packed up and moving with your mothers and most of your siblings to start new lives. It all started when Stan and his friends' moms divorced their dads. Kyle's mom, Shiela Broflovski divorced her husband, Gerald, when she discovered that he was the internet troll known as 'Skankhunt42'. She believed that he would be a bad influence on Kyle and Ike. After the divorce, Shiela got half of Gerald's money. Kenny's mom, Carol McCormick, divorced her husband, Stuart, because she was finally fed up with Stuart not being able to hold a job. She didn't get a lot of money out of the divorce, but she got custody of Kenny and Karen, while Stuart got custody of their eldest son, Kevin. Sharon Marsh divorced her husband, Randy, for so many reasons. But the straw that broke the camel's back was when Randy tried doing a Tegridy Farms easter egg hunt for the children of South Park, and filled the easter eggs with marijuana joints instead of candy. (if you're wondering why he did something so stupid...he was very high.) Randy was arrested for giving drugs to minors and was sentenced to twenty years in prison. While they were in court, Sharon filed for divorce and got half of Randy's money, which included the whole buttload of cash he got from his deal with China. She also got custody of Stan and Shelly. After Randy went to prison, Sharon sold Tegridy Farms for a lot more money. After all the divorcing was done, the moms, including Cartman's mom, Liane got together and discussed their plans for the future. They talked for a little while before they decided they should move somewhere else and get away from South Park. We mean, it's not exactly a safe and wholesome place to raise their kids. There's bars, strip clubs, constant attacks on the town by all sorts of weird things (like aliens, killer turkeys, zombies, a giant mechanized Barbara Striesand, etc.) They looked at travel brochures for a couple of days before they found a place that looked nice; a place across the ocean called the Paldea region. Once they agreed on going there, they packed all their things and booked the earliest flight there. Sharon used a lot of the money she got in the divorce to help Liane and Carol move there. Liane wanted to move to the Paldea region with the others because she didn't want Cartman to be apart from his friends. Two days later, they all moved to the suburbs of a city in the Paldea region called Mesagoza. Sharon used some of the money to buy Liane and Carol houses for them to live in, which Liane and Cartman were happy to have, since they didn't have to live in a giant hot dog-shaped restaurant anymore. The moms also all got jobs to support their respective families as well. All in all, things were looking good for them. The boys however were bored out of their minds. They didn't really take to moving to the Paldea region too well. They didn't really know anyone in the Paldea region or know what they could do there for fun. They pretty much spent their times hanging out with one another at their new homes. Their mothers noticed this going on for a whole week before they decided to do something about it. One day while the boys were sitting on the porch of Stan's new home, their mothers walked up in front of them.
"Boys. We would like to have a talk with you." said Sharon. The boys just looked up at their moms. "We think it's time you boys got out and do something besides hanging out at home all day and night."
"Sharon is right, boys. You can't spend your time sulking. You should be out having fun and exploring the city." said Shiela.
"But, Mom. We don't know what to do around here." said Kyle.
"Which is why you boys should be out exploring. Who knows? You might find something that would interest you." said Sharon.
"Yes, Eric. You and your friends should really give the Paldea region a chance." said Liane.
"That goes for you too, Kenny." said Carol.
"But, Mom..." Stan started to say.
"GO!" said their moms in unison. The boys groaned, got up, and walked into the city. The boys' moms all watched their boys walked into the city.
"I hope the boys find something to do." said Shiela.
"I know moving here is a big change for the boys. But they have to try and adapt to their new surroundings." said Carol.
"This new life will be great for the boys. I mean, the people here use clean energy so there's no pollution, I haven't seen a single strip club or bar so it's a wholesome place for them, and the surrounding area and city itself are beautiful." said Sharon.
"You're right. This change will be good for them." said Liane. In the city, the boys were wandering around, checking out the sights. They saw a few restaurants, some clothing stores; but nothing that caught their interest. After a while, the boys sat down on a bench to rest their feet.
"I can't believe this. Why did we have to move here? Why does my mom have to overreact all the time?" asked Kyle.
"I know, Kyle. I didn't want to move here, either. There's nothing to really do around here." said Stan.
"But I guess it isn't all that bad. I like that I don't have to listen to both my parents fighting each other all the time. And my mom has a better job, and our new house is pretty cool. I need to thank your mom for buying it for us, Stan." said Kenny.
"I know, Kenny. And I guess I can't really blame my mom for wanting to move here. I'd want to be as far away from my dad as possible, too." said Stan.
"And at least I don't have to live in a giant hot dog anymore." said Cartman.
"Yeah, Cartman. You were so stoked about that, that after you moved into your new house, you turned on every faucet to make sure that water came out of them instead of condiments." said Kyle.
"Hey! You try having to use showers at the community pool there when you need to shower because you don't have running water." said Cartman.
"That's enough, you guys. Like it or not, we're stuck here, so we have no choice but to get used to it." said Stan.
"Yeah." said Kenny.
"You're right. Let's just keep looking around. Hopefully we'll find something cool, at least." said Kyle. They all got up and walked around for a little bit until they reached a park. As they looked around it, they saw something that looked like a small arena that had two boys, each standing on an end of it. One boy had short, brown hair, and was wearing a red t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes. The other boy had short black hair, and wore an open, button up, dark blue dress shirt over a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
"What are those two kids doing?" asked Stan. They watched as each kid pulled out a red and white ball off their belts, and pushed the button that was on them, making them larger.
"What are those balls?" asked Kenny.
"Seviper, I choose you." said the brown-haired boy as he threw his ball. The ball popped open and a mass of light came out and turned into a large, black snakelike creature with red eyes, large red fangs, and hexagon-shaped markings that run down from its head to its blade-like tail. This surprised Stan and his friends.
"What the heck is that?!" asked Stan.
"Let's go, Tynamo." said the black-haired boy, throwing the ball he had. The ball pops open and a mass of light came out and turned into a white, eel-like creature with black eyes and a red, star-shaped mouth.
"Whoa, cool." said Kyle.
"All right, Tynamo. Use Tackle." said the black-haired boy. The white, eel creature, which has been identified as a Tynamo flies towards the black snake and rams into it.
"Seviper!" exclaimed the black snake.
"Seviper, use Screech." said the brown-haired boy. The snake, now identified as Seviper releases a high-pitched shriek which makes Tynamo tremble. "Screech lowers your Tynamo's defense."
"But not his offense. Tynamo, use Charge Beam." said the black-haired boy. Electricity surrounds Tynamo and he unleashes a yellow beam of electricity and it hits Seviper.
"Seviper!" yells Seviper. Tynamo begins to pulse with energy.
"Looks like Charge Beam just increased my Tynamo's special attack power." said the black-haired boy.
"Oh yeah? Try this on for size. Seviper, use Poison Tail." said the brown-haired boy. Seviper's tail glows purple and it lunges at Tynamo and swings its tail down on Tynamo, striking it.
"Tynamo!" yells Tynamo as it's sent flying and skids across the ground.
"Tynamo. Charge Beam again." said the black-haired boy. Tynamo releases another beam of electricity and hits Seviper, causing more damage than before due to Tynamo's power being increased. Seviper flies back and skids across the ground. Seviper lays on the ground, his eyes now swirly. "Yes! You win, Tynamo!" The Tynamo suddenly begins glowing white. "Oh wow! Tynamo, you're evolving!" Tynamo continues glowing and begins to grow. The glowing soon stops, revealing Tynamo now longer, with a blue-blackish color with a beige underbelly, a round, toothy mouth with red lips and red fin at the end of its tail. "All right. You evolved into Eelektrik!" Stan and his friends stared with mouths wide open.
"That...was so...COOL!" said Cartman.
"What were those things?" asked Kyle.
"I don't know. Let's find out." said Stan and they walk over to the two boys. At the arena, the two boys held out the red and white balls and pointed them at the creatures. Red beams of light came out of them and struck the two creatures, turning them into red light and sucking them into the balls. The boys hear someone approaching them and they look to see Stan and his friends walking over to where they are.
"Hi." said the brown-haired boy.
"Hey, kid." said Stan.
"Who are you guys. We haven't seen you around before." said the black-haired boy.
"My friends and I just moved here about a week ago. My name is Stan Marsh, these are my friends; Kyle Broflovski, Kenny McCormick, and Eric Cartman." said Stan.
"Nice to meet you. My name's Xavier." said the brown-haired boy.
"And my name is Alphonse." said the black-haired boy.
"What were those creatures you two had?" asked Kenny.
"You mean our Pokemon?" replied Xavier.
"Pokemon? What are those?" asked Stan. Xavier and Alphonse both looked confused.
"You don't know what Pokemon are?" asked Alphonse.
"No. We don't have those Pokemon things where we came from." said Kyle.
"Weird. I always imagined that Pokemon were everywhere in the world. I guess I was wrong." said Alphonse.
"I guess so. But why were you two having them fight each other?" asked Kenny.
"That's what Pokemon trainers usually do." said Xavier.
"Pokemon trainers?" replied Stan.
"Pokemon trainers are people who capture Pokemon for many reasons. Some keep them as companions, some use them to help with jobs that require their unique talents, some train them to battle other trainer's Pokemon." said Alphonse.
"Why battle?" asked Kyle.
"You see; there's an annual competition called the Paldea Pokemon League Tournament. It's a contest where trainers from all over Paldea battle each other to determine who the best trainer in Paldea is." said Xavier.
"In order to compete, trainers have to travel all over Paldea to the gyms scattered throughout the region and defeat the gym leaders in order to earn the badges required to qualify for the tournament." said Alphonse.
"Do your parents mind taking you all over the region to these gyms?" asked Kenny.
"Actually, trainers can travel the region on their own without adult supervision." said Xavier, surprising Stan and his friends.
"Wait. You can travel without adults?" replied Kyle.
"Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Travelling all over the place, meeting new people, seeing new places, and encountering all kinds of Pokemon." said Xavier. Alphonse walks over to Xavier and holds out his hand.
"Aren't you forgetting something? I won, didn't I?" asked Alphonse. Hanging his head down and sighing, Xavier reaches into his back pocket, pulls out his wallet, pulls some money out of it, and hands it to Alphonse.
"Hey. Why are you giving Alphonse money, Xavier?" asked Stan.
"That's something that happens after a Pokemon battle between two trainers. The losing trainer has to give the winning trainer half their money." said Xavier.
"Wait! You mean you get to command these Pokemon things in battle, travel a whole region without adults, and win money from trainers whose asses you kick in battles?" asked Cartman.
"That's...one way of putting it, yes." said Alphonse.
"Dude! How can we become trainers?" asked Kyle. Alphonse pulls out a brochure from his backpack.
"What's that?" asked Stan.
"It's a brochure for the Naranja Pokemon Academy here in Mesagoza. It's an academy that teaches kids all about Pokemon and Pokemon related things. To become a trainer, you need to attend the academy and graduate." said Xavier.
"I don't want to go to school." complained Cartman.
"Cartman. We'd probably be only learning about Pokemon stuff. I don't think we have to learn any history, math, or any of the crap we learned at our old school." said Kenny.
"I don't think Mr. Garrison taught us that stuff at our old school, either." said Kyle.
"You guys would only have to learn about Pokemon related stuff only. Not what you would learn at a regular school." said Alphonse.
"Oh. That's okay, then." said Cartman.
"Dudes. Let's go home and talk to our moms about going to the academy." said Stan.
"Yeah, let's go." said Kenny. The boys ran home, about to take their first step to a whole new world, a world of Pokemon.
