A.N. — From a captain of a house quidditch team to the last World Cup player I'll be covering... finally. For a match that took place in the middle of August, quidditch players from the game have wound up sprinkled throughout the calendar.
347. Barry Ryan
Ryan was playing unconscious in goal. Every quaffle sent his way was blocked, bar one. His teammates were feeding off his energy — Ireland was trouncing Bulgaria, and Ryan was savoring every second of it.
A shrill whistle punctured Ryan's happy little bubble.
Krum clutched the golden snitch, and Ryan's head whipped toward the scoreboard. Ireland 170, Bulgaria 160. Ryan was happy the Irish won, sure, but Krum had spoiled his fun. No matter how many saves he'd made, Ryan still wasn't satisfied with his performance. Ryan was penning a multi-act masterpiece, and Krum had turned it into a one-act wonder.
