349. Pius Thicknesse
Head of Law Enforcement was all Pius Thicknesse aspired to. It was plenty enough work to be getting on with, what with the Dark Lord's forces making a mockery of the justice system up and down the Isles.
Amelia Bones had just recently been murdered, and Fudge ousted. So, really, Pius was already endangering his life by holding the lofty post he currently had. Pius couldn't be dissuaded: he didn't want the head honcho's seat.
Yaxley subjugated Thicknesse's ironclad will with Imperio. Pius hadn't wanted more power, but as Minister he had total command and yet none at all simultaneously.
