A.N. — This former Hogwarts headmaster should be on December 28th, but this was the closest spot available. The rest of the month, and indeed the story, are backloaded with some pretty big names that hopefully will get my reviewers active again.

356. Phineas Nigellus Black

His portrait had been removed from Grimmauld Place by a mudblood; Phineas Nigellus Black was furious. Deep down, though, the former Hogwarts headmaster admired the cunningness of the move. He'd of course tell Snape on them, but his (non-existent) legs had been cut out from under him when his frame was shoved into the girl's beaded bag.

Phineas was a Slytherin and a Black, so he was both proud and proficient in information dealing. Over the trio's journey, he hinted at the goings-on at Hogwarts. It wound up with them acquiring a sword, and Phineas' inflated sense of self-worth justified.
