A.N. — This is the end of the year, but tomorrow brings one last chapter. Today's all about the big bad, the last star I haven't touched. But even with the worst of the worst, I do try to humanize the character.

365. Tom Marvolo Riddle (Lord Voldemort)

Tom Marvolo Riddle was born on a freezing winter night. Lord Voldemort died on a beautiful spring day. In between, he knowingly and unknowingly killed himself piece by piece.

A bit of him died with his mother. More followed during the years at the orphanage. Hogwarts revitalized him, before killing the last of his innocence when told he couldn't stay over the summer.

Tom died while still a teenager, when committing his first murder. Each subsequent ritual killing sheared off a bit of Voldemort's soul, a thing he placed no value on other than it kept him anchored to life.
