Ash and Goh were in the local Park, flipping through their notes for the past hour trying to find some explanation on what the mystery pokemon was. They weren't having any luck, the most they could do was narrow down their options to a few dozen pokemon with some basic similarities.

"Well, it does sound kind of like a mightyena, they tend to be hostile.", said Goh, scratching his head. "And the mane and tufts of hair do match the description."

"Well, yeah, but that's where the similarities end. Beatrice described the dog pokemon as having 'thick bony plates across its body.' And a mightyena doesn't have anything like that, so It sounds more like a Lairon."

Goh shook his head. "I doubt it. Lairons aren't native to this region, and they usually avoid people. Also, the pokedex said that they don't like sweet things, and the creature in question ate half a cake, so we can safely rule that one out."

"Well, what about… a Glaceon?"

"Ash, we both know that's out of the question. They aren't native to this region, and they live in arctic and tundra biomes, and they aren't hostile to people."

Ash sighed and buried his head in his

hands. "Ugh. We're getting nowhere, Goh. Nothing in the pokedex fits the description that Beatrice gave us. This has to be a new pokemon!"

"Ash, we need to be sure before we go on a manhunt for this pokemon. What if it turns out to be a pokemon that has already been found and studied? We'd be wasting more time than we would be making sure this is a real discovery and not just a series of coincidences."

While Goh and Ash debated back and forth on their hypotheses, Raboot, Riolu and Pikachu were sunbathing on the ground next to their trainers, enjoying the nice weather. Unlike the other two, Raboot was listening to the entire conversation, contemplating on what he should do. Would Goh take her seriously if she said she had seen the pokemon in question? Could she even find it again? The woods were a big place and filled with places to hide, much like the city.

Raboot felt like she had done something wrong, and she didn't like hiding important things from Goh. But then she had to consider the consequences of when they found this mysterious pokemon. What if she got hurt? What if Goh got hurt? What if Goh...

Raboot sat up and began to pace behind the bench, where Ash and Goh wouldn't see her stressing. Riolu noticed and followed her, curious. She turned around and spotted him observing her frazzled state.

What is wrong, Raboot? Riolu's voice was serene and nearly featureless, like rain. She sighed and grabbed his shoulders, surprising the naturally disciplined pokemon. I need you to keep a secret for me, Riolu, can you do that?

Riolu nodded, and Raboot let go of his shoulders and sat down, beckoning Riolu to do the same. He did, and she began to fiddle with a pebble as she spoke.

I saw the creature they were talking about yesterday, in the woods when we were finding the silcoons. It was hidden in a bush near the edge of the forest.

Riolu's stoic expression remained unchanged, as if he wasn't surprised. That's it? I thought you murdered someone or something along those lines.

I… just think about that for a second. They're looking for that pokemon, and I don't want to hinder them, but I also don't want Ash and Goh to get hurt. Let's face it, they're about as capable of protecting themselves as a pair of newborn kittens. I don't want to put them in danger.

Riolu sighed. And here I thought you were smarter than that. Of course humans can get hurt, they're soft and squishy, unlike us. But that's why we're here: to keep them safe.

So was that Infernape! And look how that turned out.

Riolu wasn't convinced. We'll be fine, we have an advantage in numbers, and I don't know about you, but if someone doesn't stop that pokemon, more people will get hurt.

So now it's our responsibility to catch this pokemon? The local police are looking everywhere!

No, they're not. So far they've done the bare minimum, and you said the lady Ash and Goh talked to said the police didn't believe her mate. As far as I'm concerned, they're a bunch of paperweights.

Raboot sighed and massaged her temples. So what? We just go charging into battle? Take on this seemingly invincible pokemon?

It isn't invincible, Raboot: It's tough and a smidge luckier than most. There's a difference between the two. All we have to do is let Ash and Goh deal with the tracking and the finding, and we handle the rest, which is the fighting.

Fine. But I have a bad feeling about this.

Out of nowhere, a loud alarm blared a few streets west of them, near the shopping plaza. Ash and Goh shot out of their seats and Riolu was on his feet in a blur, paws close to his chest in a defensive posture. Raboot hopped to her feet and looked up to see Ash and Goh packing their things. "C'mon, all of you. Let's go check it out!"

"Ash, do you really think-"

"Yeah, Goh. Yeah I do."

Riolu shook his head and took off after his master, with Pikachu close behind. Raboot caught up to them before hopping onto Goh's shoulders and hanging onto his neck. Goh gave her a quick pet before he strapped on his backpack and raced after Ash, who was sprinting like a track runner.

After curving through a few streets of three story condominiums and small shops, they entered the shopping plaza, and noticed a broken window near the far left corner with red security alarms blaring. An old man with a pidgeotto on his shoulder came out of the store to survey the damage before pulling out his phone to call the police and survey the damage. Pedestrians quickly dispersed, obviously wanting nothing to do with the midday robbery of a jewelry store. Across the street, an old man had collapsed onto the ground, his snack cart tipped over with pastries spilled across the sidewalk. A small pool of blood had formed around his head. Ash rushed over and checked his pulse.

"He's dead,'' said Ash, a little shaken. "He hit his head a little too hard."

He and Goh were quiet for a moment before a police officer with a growlithe approached them. "What happened here?"

Ash stuttered for a second before Goh Took the lead. "We found him like this, sir. We came to check out the noise and just saw him on the ground. He's dead."

The officer checked the man's pulse and confirmed what Goh had told him. "We'll have to take you two to the station to write a report and answer a few questions. Neither of you are in trouble."

Ash and Goh nodded, and Goh gestured to the pokemon to follow them, but before they could leave, the officer's radio began to blare.

"All units between Rosemary and Darnell, a hostile pokemon has engaged with officers, I repeat, a hostile pokemon has engaged with officers. Multiple wounded, requesting assistance."

In an alley a few buildings over, a miniature blizzard erupted in an alley, sending shards of ice flying into the air. The howls of Growlithes and Houndooms echoed through the concrete burrows as more explosions rocked the nearby streets, causing older businesses to wobble and a few pedestrians to lose their balance.

The young officer kept his balance and pointed to the kids. "You two stay here, I have to respond to this. Come on out, Growlithe."

The officer tossed out a pokeball and a Growlithe popped out, eager to battle. "Let's go, Growlithe. You two kids stay safe." And with that, the officer took off with his partner.

"We should totally-", Ash started, but Goh hushed him before he could finish his statement.

"No, Ash. No we aren't."

"Aww, C'mon, this could be our chance! Did you see that blizzard? The ice shards? That has to be the mysterious pokemon. Why else would there be a fight?"

"Ash, I agreed to research the pokemon, I even agreed to hunt for it with you, but I'm not going to barge into the middle of a combat zone because you feel like it."

Ash huffed, scowled, crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the asphalt irritatedly. But just as quickly as his scowl grew, it vanished, and was replaced with a devious grin. Ash picked up Riolu and Pikachu and took off for the combat zone in question. "Have fun waiting around, pansy!"

"Wait- Ash you just can't- oh for the love of- come on Raboot, we're going after the idiot." Raboot hopped onto Goh's shoulders and he took off after his partner fuming.

By the time Goh had reached up with Ash, he was peering into the alleyway. Goh huddled behind him, looking for anything interesting. There were several Houndooms, two or three Growlithes, a Arcanine and a Mightyena, all wearing official law enforcement gear. A silhouette was obscured by the rest of the pokemon, but it had to be the perpetrator in question. In a split second, a massive blast of ice fragments whipped past the circle of police pokemon, sending weaker ones falling back like tumbleweeds and forcing the rest to adopt defensive postures. Goh pulled Ash back from the alley just in time, right when a shard of ice the size of a pencil jammed itself into the brick wall where Ash had just been resting his head. Goh tightened one of his gloves and yanked it out, causing the wall to lose a few bricks. His eyes gleamed as he analyzed the ice, finding it to be quite the specimen.

It wasn't normal ice, that was sure. It wasn't clear, or even bluish, but rather a silvery-grey color, resembling mercury if mercury was solid and dense. It was melting in his hand slowly from the summer heat, but far slower than regular ice, leaving little particles of metal behind.

"Ash, this isn't normal ice, this is something completely different."

Ash took it from him, but yelped and dropped it, causing it to clang on the ground, but not shatter. He cradled his hand as blood pooled quickly. "How is that so sharp? There aren't even any edges!"

Goh picked it back up again before examining Ash's hand. It was already turning purple and swollen. "Ash, I don't think that pokemon is just an ice type."

Ash, flabbergasted by how quickly his hand had become infected, started grimacing as the pain flared up. "What, do you think it's also a poison type?"

"No, that ice, it wasn't just ice, it was like a… metal ice. And there's only one metal that's liquid at room temperature; mercury."

Ash's eyes widened. "Wait, you think I have mercury poisoning? That's insane, no pokemon carries mercury in its body, it's too toxic!"

"Well, maybe we just found one that does. We have to get that pokemon to Cerise, not only is it a new pokemon, but it could save people's lives! We could find a way to end mercury poisoning, and think about what else it could do!"

"What happened to you being a pansy?"

"This is more important than just catching a new pokemon now. We have to catch it so Professor Cerise can study it and figure out how to help people. Call Cerise, tell him what happened. Honestly, we should have done that in the first place."

They both flinched when a massive slam shook the building. He looked back to see the pokemon manhandling the Arcanine with a tape, and crushing it into the wall as it howled before knocking it put with a slam of it's paw. A small burst of energy erupted as the Arcanine was rendered bloody and unconscious. But before it could take advantage of it's position, more of the Growlithes piled on top of it. Goh wiped his brow and pulled out his pokedex to scan the pile, using it's X-ray feature to target the new pokemon. The screen remained blank as the Pokedex couldn't recognize the pokemon.

Ash grumbled, but kept cradling his hand while Goh set Raboot down. "Alright, Raboot. You have a double type advantage, and it can't last that much longer." Right When he said that, another hail of ice burst from the alley, sending two growlithes tumbling down the street, bloodied. Only one got back up while the other twitched and shuddered from the pain and mercury poisoning. The one still standing limped towards the alley, firing a flamethrower from it's mouth.

Raboot didn't look too confident.

Goh rubbed Raboot's head. "I believe in you, Raboot, we've dealt with worse. Just go in there and use a double kick to render it unconscious. You can do this."

Raboot nodded and charged into the alley as Goh observed, attempting to learn more about the pokemon. But before he could, Raboot successfully slammed her foot into the creature's snout before using it as a springboard to launch herself upward onto the rooftops. The creature searched angrily for her to no avail, before Rabootlanded on it again, this time jamming it's skull into the concrete with a vicious kick.

"Goh, capture it!" Ash shouted from behind him weakly. Goh took a deep breath and palmed an Ultra Ball, a gift from Cerise.

You'll know when to use it.

And he tossed it. It sailed through the air and landed on the nearly unconscious pokemon's head, capturing it. The ball shook wildly as it struggled, nearly forcing the ball open, but after several nerve wracking seconds, it finally settled and sealed.

"Yeah, way to go, Goh. I knew you could do it!" Ash came rushing into the alley and nearly tacked Goh with a hug. He then picked up Raboot and twirled him around. "And you too Raboot, you were so cool." Raboot gave out a small harrumph, but Goh could see the faintest smile under its scarf. When Ash set her down, Riolu and Pikachu hugged Raboot, celebrating by hopping up and down.

Goh retrieved the ball with a satisfied sigh, safely putting it in his bag. He quickly checked Ash's hand, seeing it had become grey and purple, and Ash winced at Goh's inspection. "We need to get you to the pokemon center and get your hand checked out before it gets worse."

Before they could leave, officers swarmed the Alley, stun guns activated. "Freeze, don't move." Said the leader, Officer Jenny. She spotted her Arcanine slumped on the wall, heavily injured and barely breathing, then

She saw the carnage around her, the multiple pokemon disabled from the vicious battle. Then she spotted Ash and Goh. "Rothschild, call for several buses. You two, are you two kids okay?"

"Yes ma'am, I'm fine, but my friend here was struck by one of the shards and he was poisoned."

"Poisoned? It was a poison type?"

"I don't think so, ma'am, but the ice shards were made up of water mixed with a little mercury and some other chemicals I can't identify. He really needs treatment."

Officer Jenny nodded. "Abraham, give the two a ride to the Pokemon center while we clean up here." She then looked back at Ash and Goh. "I'll get a report from you two later, for now you two should get some rest, notify your parents and/or guardians about what happened. And try to stay out of trouble, this town has had enough of it lately."

Nurse Joy gave them a deadpan look.

"So let me get this straight; you two decided to go and explore a vicious fight between a surprisingly resilient ice and possibly steel type pokemon, watched said pokemon fight half of the police force at once, near kill several of its pokemon members, and essentially cause mass panic. So, in the process of watching this, you-" she pointed at Ash accusingly as his wound was cleaned out and healed by a chansey, "-decided to pick up a sharp piece of ice that pierced brick and examine it without gloves, and you gave yourself methylmercury poisoning. And, you" Nurse Joy turned her finger away from Ash and onto Goh, "Decided it would be a wonderful idea to capture it. Luckily, you had at least one brain cell, and you used an ultra ball before it could pepper you with holes like a block of swiss cheese. Did I miss anything?"

Goh coughed into his fist and Ash decided that Chansey's egg was suddenly very interesting. Nurse Joy sighed with her head in her hand and then regained her composure, plastering on a faintest silhouette of a smile. "So, you want me to heal your mystery pokemon, which will be nearly impossible to do since I have no medical records, no allergy chart, and we can't forget that I have no clue what species of pokemon this is."

Ash and Goh didn't respond, afraid to set Nurse Joy off on her last nerve. Nurse Joy sighed again, but unlike before, this was a sigh of acceptance, the sigh that meant merciful lord please help me.

"Alright!" Nurse Joy returned with her cheerful attitude and clapped her hands together, which only terrified Ash and Goh even more. "Luckily for you two, against all odds, I've actually dealt with worse. Much worse. I'll notify you when I make some progress." She held out her hand expectantly, and Goh reluctantly handed her the pokeball. She placed it on the cart, along with multiple pokeballs containing various police pokemon, and rolled it down the hall to the depths of the medical center as Chansey saluted her absent-mindedly.

"We really should call professor Cerise,'' said Ash, his face still pale. Goh nodded in agreement and pulled out his phone, dialing Cerise. Within three rings, he picked up.

"Oh, boys, how are my two favorite research assistants?"

Goh scratched the back of his head. "Hey, professor, its nice to see you again. Um… were fine and all, but Ash does have mercury poisoning-"

"What?"

"Yeah, I know, thats a big deal, but its kinda a funny story, you see-"

"No, I'm not just going to skip over that. Ash, are you okay?"

Ash nodded. "I'm fine, professor, just a bit sick. Nurse Joy told me that they could flush the mercury out of my system with a few pills and some prune juice.", Ash croaked. "But we have bigger news, professor; we caught a brand new pokemon!"

"That's great boys, but seriously, I think your health takes precedence over catching a pokemon. Completing your pokedex is nice, but your health comes first."

"No, professor, you misunderstood him", said Goh, tapping Ash's arm to signal that Goh would finish the call. "We didn't just catch another pokemon. We caught a NEW pokemon, one never seen before. My pokedex doesn't even recognize it."

Professor Cerise beamed. "Well, that's… that's wonderful. Is that how Ash got mercury poisoning?"

Goh nodded. "Yeah, we believe it's a mix between an Ice type and a Steel type. It breathes massive storms of ice as a defense mechanism, and it's very durable. On top of that, the shards of ice it spews contain trace amounts of mercury, which is how Ash was poisoned."

Professor Cerise set his phone on a stand in front of his desk and opened up a notepad on his computer, typing down all the information Goh was giving him. "Interesting, This pokemon is certainly unique and I'd love to study it. Can you two return as soon as possible?"

"We'll try, professor, but the train isn't leaving until tomorrow due to an accident with the conductor. We won't be back until late in the afternoon."

Cerise nodded, scratching his chin. "Well, if you two are up to it, maybe you can do me a favor. One of our biggest tasks at Cerise laboratory is the study of pokemon behavior, not just biological processes. While you two are on you way home, could you find out and document as much as you can of this pokemon? It would be a great help to me if you two documented the basics, like temperament and a few preferences, as well as anything else you might find interesting. Speaking of interesting, where is it now?"

"The Pokémon is being healed by Nurse Joy right."

Cerise clapped. "Excellent! If you can, retrieve any medical files, those will be incredibly useful. We'll be able to quickly determine its biological features that way."

"Of course professor, we will document every detail." Before Goh could hang up, the door opened, revealing a very annoyed Officer Jenny. By her side was a bandaged up Arcanine with a neck brace and neck cone, who was equally as unhappy. She was tapping her foot on the floor impatiently.

"I have been told that you two failed to inform me that you had captured the suspect in question, is that true?"

Both Goh and Ash paled even further as Officer Jenny approached them, leaning on her knee to meet Goh at eye level. He backed up slightly, but Arcanine appeared behind him, growling. Officer Jenny signaled for him to stop and he did, but she still have a very serious expression. "Please answer my question, I have a lot of paperwork to do and I still need a report from you two."

"I… we… well, yes, we did catch it but-"

Officer Jenny shushed Goh with her gloved finger before he could continue. "Why didn't you inform me?"

"We… we…" Goh couldn't think of something to say, and Ash looked just as terrified. So he decided to tell the truth. "I was afraid you would take it."

Jenny's eyes softened. "I understand, but you two can't just barge into police combat zones to catch a pokemon. There's a whole woodland for you two to explore. I don't want kids getting hurt during a battle."

Professor Cerise, having heard the entire conversation over the phone, cleared his throat. "I have a feeling I wasn't told everything either, Officer Jenny."

Officer Jenny raised her eyebrows. "And who might you be?"

Goh handed her his phone, and the disappointed face of Professor Cerise appeared. "I'm Professor Cerise of Cerise Laboratory in Kanto. You are the officer in charge I presume?"

"You would be correct, Professor. Is there a reason why these two were having a conversation with you? They're just kids."

Professor Cerise nodded. "These two young men are part of Cerise Laboratory's youth program. They function as off-site research assistants while they travel across the nearby regions ton learn about pokemon and assist me in field research."

"Well things just became clearer, and yet at the same time they became that much messier.", Officer Jenny rubbed her temples before sighing. "Your two research assistants entered a restricted combat zone and caught a pokemon that was the prime suspect of multiple crimes the night before, said crimes being armed robbery and assault. While my officers were engaged, and summarily defeated, your two assistants somehow managed to defeat and capture the pokemon in question, and not only did they fail to notify me that they had caught said pokemon, but also failed to obey the orders of another officer prior to the incident who had ordered them to stay put while he investigated an in-progress 242."

"And 242 being an assault?"

"Yes, professor."

Professor Cerise's shoulders slumped and he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You are correct, Officer Jenny, the situation has absolutely become incredibly complicated. You see, that pokemon is of an unknown species and of great value to Cerise laboratory. And, while my assistants here did disobey and deceive you, they did catch that pokemon, meaning that they are responsible for any and all of their pokemon's actions moving forward…"

"You're implying that because these two caught the pokemon, it's prior actions are legally waived. Professor, while I respect your knowledge on the law, multiple pokemon are seriously injured and an old man is dead, the latter is suspected of being caused by the pokemon in question. I cannot just drop manslaughter charges amongst many others just because you want to research a new pokemon."

The professor scoffed. "Officer, with all due respect, not only am I one of the leading minds on pokemon research, but I also possess a law degree. And while it has been a long time since I have taken the BAR exam, I believe that the laws on Pokemon ownership haven't changed. Now, you can make a big deal out of this, and we can go to court, or you can go on with your day and allow me to handle the minimal legal repercussions. I'll pay any fine or ordinance I am deputed to pay, although I doubt there will be any. Now, please stop harassing my assistants; once they finalize their police reports and the pokemon is healed, I will book two tickets for them to leave first thing in the morning, and I will handle their disciplinary actions then. We are done here, Officer."

Officer Jenny scowled, but stood up and left, signaling her Arcanine to follow. Before she closed the door, she peeked her head back through. "When you are finished with Professor Cerise, you two still need to fill out your police reports." And with that, she owed the door, leaving the two of them alone with a very unhappy Professor Cerise.

"Now that the first part of this grueling discovery is dealt with, I am very disappointed in you two. Not only did you break the law, but you endangered your lives. You could have easily been harmed, actually, scratch that you were harmed under my supervision. I cannot let this slide, not even once. I will be calling both of your parents tomorrow. You will both go home for a week while I deal with the fallout of this decision, and when you return, this internship will change: radically. File those police reports and go to sleep, you two have the first train leaving for Kanto tomorrow morning."

And with that, the professor hung up.

After a few moments of silence, Ash started crying, a quiet sob of despair and regret. "I'm sorry, Goh. I messed up, I really messed up. I dragged you into this stupid mess, when we should've just left it alone and stayed home training."

Goh, unlike Ash, was as stoic as ever. "It's both of our faults, Ash. It might have been your idea but I was the one who chose to catch the pokemon. We just have to own up to our mistakes and apologize. I'm sure if we act mature and we never do something stupid like that again, Cerise will see that we learned our lesson. Just promise me that you'll be mature with me."

Ash wiped the tears out of his eye with his good hand and nodded. "I don't knownwhy you haven't ditched me yet, I'm a hot mess."

Goh chuckled. "I am too, Ash." Goh took his hand, "but we're partners, and partners stick together."

Ash got up with the help of Goh, and together they left the room, avoiding running into the busy staff of the pokemon center. By the time they got to the front, Goh spotted a familiar woman with a familiar train conductor sitting on either side of a very cheerful Infernape.

Goh's face lit up, just a little bit, as he approached the kind woman that had helped them identify the mysterious pokemon. "Beatrice, you're here! How is Infernape?"

The young woman sat up with a bright smile and hugged both Ash and Goh. "Its good to see you both are safe. We had heard you had been injured by the pokemon that had harmed poor Infernape." Infernape puffed up hisnchest to look tough, but the scars and stitches didn't help. When he saw that nobody took him seriously, he deflated like a balloon.

"Yeaj, Ash had cut his hand on one of the Ice shards, and it turns out they were a bit toxic, but he's okay." Ash nodded to conform Goh's statement.

"Well, I'm just glad that horrible pokemon didn't do any worse. Say, what ever happened to it? I heard about the conflict with the police, but the police never made a statement on whether it had been caught or not."

Goh scratched the back of his head, a sly grin on his face. "Well, the thing is, the police didn't catch it, but it didn't get away either. I ended up catching it with an Ultra Ball after it gave the police a beat down. My Raboot finished it off."

Beatrice's eyebrows rose in concern. "Well, I'm not going to judge what pokemon you capture. Just be very careful, that beast gave Infernape quite the thrashing, isn't that right, Infernape?" Infernaoe gave her a death scowl, but she simply laughed and scratched his chin, causing his gaze to soften. "Infernaoe acts tough, but on the inside he's a big softie. All I care about is that he's okay " Beatrice gave the flaming monkey a hug, and Goh swore that he'd never seen a happier Infernape. Jeremy chuckled at the antics of his fiance and his pokemon. "Thank you again, both of you. You caught that pokemon, and you comforted my Beatrice in her time of need. I know it's not much, but I spoke to the railmaster, who respects me quite a bit, and I was able to have your tickets reimbursed. Your ride will be free."

Goh gave ash a hopeful look. "Thank you so much, we really appreciate it." Ash was distracted by rubbing bandage, so Goh elbowed him im the side to get his attention. "Yeah, thank you, Mr. Jeremy and Ms. Beatrice."

Beatrice nodded, handing the affectionate Infernape to her fiancé. "Now, I heard you two are in some hot water. Go do what you need to do with Officer Jenny, I would hate to keep you waiting."

The little bit of hope Goh had mustered fluttered away when he remembered he had to deal with Officer Jenny again. With a sigh, he and ash headed to the door. But before they could leave, Nurse Joy tapped Goh's shoulder.

"He's ready."

Goh nodded and she beckoned them to follow her into the back rooms again. After a few doors, she opened one which lead to an empty medical ward room with the pokemon in question sprawled out on a cushioned gurney on it's side with a mask attached to its muzzle administering anesthetic gases. It's bony plates were charred, its muzzle was a bruised purple purple and slightly bent, and it's mane and hair were singed, but it seemed to still be in one piece.

"Despite my hesitancy to deal with a possibly violent pokemon, this turned out to be rather simple. First off, he's a male, young, close to two years of age if I were to make a guess based on his phylum, and very damage resistant, like Nokia phone resistant. Nevertheless, he had some bad injuries." Nurse Joy approached the bed, and gestured to the shell. "His shell is more like the overlapping and interlocking shell of a sandshrew rather than the carapace of a bug type pokemon, although it's much stronger, similar in makeup to the body of an Aggron. This is useful against attacks like Tackle, but very bad against fire based moves. The shell is not only an excellent conductor of temperature, but it is directly attached to it's skin, meaning that it's skin will melt on the inside before the shell is damaged. Luckily, he has a rapid having factor, so the skin is mostly healed, although he might have an uncomfortable itch he can't shake for a while."

"Beyond that, the rest of the wounds are quite trivial. He has a severe concussion, so don't expect any fine motor skills for a few days. He may need some painkillers for his broken snout, and I suggest keeping him in a dimly lit room when not in his pokeball while he recovers. As for his diet, well, from the information I gathered, he eats basically anything, and a CT scan shows he has an abnormally large stomach for his size with a rather high stomach acid concentration, suggesting he's more of a scavenger than an outright hunter, which explains his behavior towards Jeremy and Beatrice. So I suggest you feed him food you would feed an Eevee or a Glaceon, or if you prefer to just feed him regular food, he can eat anything: berries, rice, fruit, vegetables, cheese, meats, fish, bones, seeds, anything you would eat, he can eat and more."

Ash, of course, had his notepad out, writing everything he could down. She took the notepad from him and handed them a pre-prepped list of all the information, as well as medical documents. "He showed no allergic reactions to anesthesia, and he has a very healthy immune system. And yes, I have documented everything and sent it to Professor Cerise personally so you don't have to deal with a mess of paperwork. I will, however, need your signature Goh, just for legal reasons, your consent and all that administrative mumbo-jumbo." Goh signed on the dotted line and Nurse Joy took the paper and stuck it in a filing cabinet behind her. "Now, it's late, and you two need sleep. I'd keep your little friend here in his pokeball for now, he'll recover quickly in there- oh, and that reminds me, the pokeball has been programmed to contain a miniature woodland environment. Pokeballs usually provide pre-determined internal biomes based on the pokemon captured, but since we don't exactly know what the heck he is, the Pokeball didn't recognize him and reset to a default blank space format. He should be more comfortable with his pokeball than before."

Goh nodded, practically overloaded with information. "Um, thank you, Nurse Joy. I really appreciate your efforts."

Nurse Joy sighed, a small smile appearing on her lips. "You'd be the first to say that today, and I've had over a hundred patients." For the first time, Goh noticed the bags under her eyes. She returned the pokemon to his pokeball and handed it to Goh before shooing them out of the room. "Good luck you two, and stay safe."
