The Kyuubis Influence
('normal thought' "normal speech" 'demonic/echoing thought' "demonic/echoing speech")
'I don't understand.'
'Why'
'Why always me'
'I didn't do anything to these people'
'Why do they all hate me'
Those were the thoughts of a five year old Naruto. Thoughts that no mere child should have to think.
Naruto was sitting on the dingy bed of his apartment looking out his dirty window. Naruto lived in a very small one bedroom apartment that had the smell of rotten food and overall dirtiness. He barely had anything other than cup ramens to eat with the occasional spoiled milk and stale cereal.
Despite such depressing conditions, Naruto always seemed to be in a good mood. Naruto was a quiet and distant child due to the beatings he had received from the hateful villagers all his life. He never attempted to make any friends and he was more of a thinker than a talker. Naruto had one dream and one dream only.
"Become the strongest shinobi ever and make everyone respect me and bow to my power" Naruto said to himself with an almost frightening amount of resolve in his eyes and voice alike. "That is what i'm going to have to do.", continued Naruto. "I will join the academy, get super strong like old-man hokage", he announced. "yeah.." Naruto finished talking to himself and then heard a knock on the door.
'I wonder who it is..' Naruto thought as he headed towards the door, as Naruto approached the door he got a terrible gut-wrenching feeling. 'W-what the?!' Naruto tried to fight the feeling but it then started to burn. 'It….it burns..' he thought in pain as he held his stomach. 'Why does it burn?!' those were Narutos' last thoughts as he collapsed on the floor and fell unconscious.
Only a few seconds later Naruto started to feel like he was falling through the sky. He tried to open his eyes only to realize they were open it was just pitch black.
He felt as if he was falling for a few minutes until he was suddenly standing in water. He felt no impact of hitting the would-be floor, he was simply falling one moment, and one the ground the next. "Where am I?" Naruto said out loud, half dreading an answer, fearing an angry villager to be lurking waiting to beat him. "Naruto" a dark demonic voice called out to the loveable blond.
Naruto attempted to see or at least make out where the voice had come from but he was suddenly jolted awake once more. Taking a second to get his bearings and realize that he was back in the real world, Naruto took a look outside. "It's still day.." Naruto said as he glanced over from the window to the clock he had on his dingy wall. Only a few seconds had passed. "That can't be right.. I was out for at least ten minutes!" Naruto whispered to himself scratching his head trying to remember what he was doing in the first place.
'The door!' Naruto half screamed in his mind as he ran towards the door but stopped himself once he put his hand on the doorknob 'Wait until midnight' he thought. Or did he? 'Was that my thought?' Naruto questioned himself not knowing if that was just a very intrusive thought, or someone else's thought. Regardless of who's it was, he decided to listen and not answer the door.
He waited a few moments at the door with his ear up to it and heard voices outside. "Maybe this isn't the demons home, Senji." said one male voice. "No, i'm sure it is! My brother in the anbu has a friend who guards the demon and he said he watches him go to this house. This is it's house!", responded the other male voice.
"Well, maybe the demon brat isn't home." said the first voice, "lucky bastard. I would have loved to kill that demon once and for all." finished the first voice. Naruto heard both the men walk away from the door and he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. 'What do they mean anbu guarding me? And why does everyone refer to me as a demon?'
He thought to himself letting out a few silent tears. Naruto ended up crying himself to sleep right on his door only wishing that someone would see him as a human.
