Maureen started pacing the loft. Where was everybody? She had found a note that said to come here, and here she was, but she was alone. She plopped down on the couch, and then noticed a scribbled note on the back of the door. Go to the Life. She did not enjoy this. Sighing she headed out the door. I swear they will pay for this! she thought to herself.

When she reached the Life, she received yet another note. "What the fuck is going on!" Go to the 11th Street Lot. She sighed again, "Thanks," she said to the manager before storming to the 11th Street Lot. As she walked, she drew her jacket tighter around herself. It started snowing as she walked. Fuck, I'm going to kill them!

When she got the lot, Maureen found, what else but, another note. "Fuck them! This is seriously fucked up!" Maureen unfolded the note, Return Home. "What the fuck is going on!" A homeless person looked at her as if she was crazy for her outburst. Maureen ignored it. She made her way home, muttering cuss words along the way.

She unlocked the door to the apartment she shared with Joanne. "SURPRISE!" shouted everyone. Maureen glared at them.

"You guys made me run all over the fucking city, just so you could surprise me for my birthday!" Maureen screamed.

"Told you it was a bad idea," Joanne said. "I'm sorry Honey Bear; honestly it was Mimi and Angel's idea."

"And did you try to stop them!" Maureen pulled away from the embrace Joanne was giving her. After five minutes of bitterness, Maureen broke into a fit of giggles. She slid down the wall, collapsing with laughter.

"Maureen? Honey? Are you okay?" Joanne looked at Maureen with confusion.

"Fine," Maureen said, gasping for air. After she had caught her breath, she explained. "I appreciate the sentiment guys, but did I really have to go all around the city?"

"It was the only way to be sure we could get the decorations up and everything ready," Angel explained to Maureen.

"Okay, so now that you're not so pissed, can we celebrate?" Mimi asked, a wide smile etched across her face.

"Yes, lets!" Maureen said, giving in to another fit of laughter.

Okay, so that's not really what I had envisioned at all. I'll let you all be the judge of the story though. Please don't ask for it to be continued though, this IS a one shot. My Love! Diva
