Baby Be Mine

I do kind of like Eric and Jada together, but I can't help thinking the real potential lies with Rafe and Jada. I got this idea for them after watching the fall preview for Days big move to Peacock streaming (spoilers, baby!). I hope you enjoy it. Please leave feedback and/or favorite if you want more of this story. I need motivation to continue it. Thank you!

Over:

It was over. She knew it the instant she walked in on Eric and Nicole pressed up against a wall in the Basic Black photography studio. Nicole's long, lean legs were wrapped around Eric's bare waist, while their hands and lips explored the contours of each other's bodies.

Jada was sucker punched, and she was hurt, but wasn't sure she had a right to be, because if she were honest with herself, she would have to admit she had seen clear signs all along that the exes still pined for each other. Witnessing so many of their furtive looks and whispered conversations; plus, noticing how overly involved they were in every facet of each other's lives, should have given her pause. Hell, Eric had admitted not long before that it was still difficult for him to see Nicole with Rafe.

Jada had just chosen to ignore all the warning signs and leap headfirst into bed and a relationship with Eric, never expecting to fall so hard and so fast for the ex-priest. She felt like a fool.

Well, this fool had learned her lesson bigtime. She was not about to hang around and demand an explanation or make some big dramatic scene. That was not Jada Hunter's way. She always held her head up high, even now, when the walls felt like they were closing in on her. Even now, when she could hardly breathe, and her stomach was roiling.

It was almost funny, she mused. She could stare down the double barrel of a loaded shotgun and not blink, but this mess was what made her want to toss her cookies.

In her haste to escape the claustrophobic room, she overturned a metal trash bin. She knew she'd been caught in the act when she heard Eric call out to her in a breathless gasp - "Jada?"
