What's up Fanfic Community! It's your third-rate writer Star's Keyblade here, bringing you yet another un-planned and unintended story from the depths of my mind.
So, let me now explain how this newest edition to what I call un-planned brain children came to be. As of recently I have been watching video playthroughs of a game I use to play a long time ago, called Elsword. The game back then was a typical online computer game with a roster of interesting characters and their own classes to choose from.
For reasons I'm still not sure of myself, I ended up dropping out of the game and haven't heard much about it since then. But around 2020, there was a video on YouTube in my suggestion box. I clicked on it and was surprised to see the amount of changes the game had went through. More characters, more challenging content and deeper lore.
But the one thing that blew my mind, was that each character now has a fourth job class. Currently out of the 14 characters, only 6 have had their fourth job classes reveled. And you already know the main character whose name is the freaking game itself, Elsword got his first. and it's because of the lore and look of his class that birth this story here, which I'll explain what it is now.
So right out the gate, this is another Star vs the forces of Evil story that will be having our boy Marco as (and I hope no one else has thought of this yet) the youngest and only person in Mewni's history to wield a power greater than what Star and her family could. But, Marco will not be the wielding this power only. That's right, our boy will be pulling up with a squad beside him.
To better describe each member, I'll be going by name, rank, weapon preference, Affiliations, Occupations, Abilities, etc.
Chapter 0: Squad Members and Some Concepts
Marco Diaz
Age: 15

Rank: Knight Squad Commander

Summary: Marco is the de facto Leader of the squad as he is the first to awaken the true power of the Realm of Magic and chosen to wield one of its sacred weapons. He was also chosen to be trained by a legendary knight known throughout every dimension who only went by the name El.
Kelly Woolett
Age: 15

Sacred Weapon: Mountain Shattering Great Sword –Gaia's Hammer

Summary: Like Marco, Kelly was chosen to be trained by the Legendary Knight El when he felt the young girl's warrior spirit. She soon gained the power of Earth Magic when she obtained the great sword Gaia's Hammer. Next to Star; Kelly is Marco's closest friend and battle partner, one of a few key points that lead to her position as the squad's 1st Class Commander.

Summary: Higgs was at first insulted at the fact that someone like Marco, who had little to no experience at what it meant to train to become a knight would even attempt it in the first place. Despite her obvious distain of Marco, El still chose to train her alongside the boy and Kelly. It was in no way easy; but as Higgs watched how hard Marco was training, she began to lighten up a bit to him. When it came time for her to enter the Realm of Magic to earn her weapon, she almost lost her life had Marco not jumped in at the last moment. After she had obtained the twin swords Surtr's Calamity, Higgs spoke with Marco the following day and thanked him for saving her life and said that he was at the very least a "Second-rate" Squire (Which is a compliment, believe it or not). When Marco was made Leader of their team, he gave Higgs the rank of Knight Commander 2nd Class. While she did gloat about the position she was in now, it was only matched by how intensely she trained herself. And why wouldn't she? Someone who actually valued and acknowledged her drive and dedication gave her a position she didn't think she would receive at the age of 14. She would sooner return to her crappy life as Sir Stabby's squire than let her first (Actually) friend's faith in her be misplaced.
Jenny Wakeman

Abilities: (Note: this is the same Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot, please go check the Wiki for a list of her weapons and abilities. The new ones she'll get from her weapon I will now list.) Elemental Guard, Attribute Adaptability (Her color will change depending on which element she is utilizing), Mythical Metal Transmutation, Universal Record
Summary: Prior to meeting Marco and the others, Jenny was found by El in a dimension that looked to have been whipped out. But strangely enough, it looked almost similar to Marco's home of Earth. El was further surprised when upon seeing that the girl was clearly machine-based, he could sense the presence of a soul within her. Placing the numerous questions he had in the back of his mind for now, El dug her out of the collapsed building she was in and brought her back to where he had been camping at the time. After reactivating her (Don't ask how he managed that), He asked if she remembered what had happened, but she said she couldn't recall much. Not wishing to simple abandon her, El brought her along with him on his travels until they came to Mewni. Upon meeting the Butterfly Royal Family, Star was instantly enamored with Jenny and vice versa. When El decided to train Marco, Kelly and Higgs, Jenny was also included to take part. She got along very well with Marco and Kelly; but surprisingly enough, Higgs was very eager to be friends with Jenny. Saying that her metal body almost made her an ideal candidate for knighthood. Seeing this, El allowed Jenny to partake in a trial to obtain an item from the Realm of Magic, which surprisingly enough was a pendant that offered Jenny different magical abilities. Which would be a big help as Jenny didn't have much knowledge of actual magic. Finally, when Marco was named Leader of their squad; he made Jenny a 2nd Class Knight Lieutenant much to both her and Higgs's appreciation since that made Jenny Higgs's right hand when Marco and Kelly weren't leading at the moment.
Luck Voltia/Butterfly

Sacred Weapon: The Tome of the Lightning King – Zeus's Grimoire

Occupation: Star's adopted little brother, Second Prince to the Butterfly Family
Abilities: (Note: As you all can guess; I'm going to be using some of Luck's known spells for what he can do.) Thunder God's Boots, Thor's Gauntlets, Keraunos, Thunder Arrow, Lightning Bolt Meteor Kick
Summary: Luck was brought to the Kingdom by Star's dad River, whose family said they found the boy one day in the forest fighting a horde of monsters on his own using lightning magic. They had assumed he was a child from Moon's family, but later found out he was a boy who lost his family after a group of monsters attacked their home. He said his family was able to use both lightning magic and creation magic and were the only mewman commoners that could do so. Hence, why his family was attacked and killed. Not wanting the boy to be left alone and not knowing what to do with him in general; the Johansen Family contacted River and asked him to adopt the boy, which he did… without an explanation (which you guys will know, gave Moon a headache). When Luck was introduced to Star, Moon, and Marco, he received some varying receptions. Moon was confused and at a loss for words, while Marco was friendly and accepting. Star practically jumped from wall to wall, completely excited at having a younger sibling. After Luck's coronation and introductory as Second Prince of the Butterfly Royal Family, he and Star were shown to be similar in their over-excitement and love for fighting. When he and Star were watching Marco and other's training with El, Star saw how excited and interested he was in it. So seeing this, Star recommend to El that Luck would make for a perfect addition to the squad. El was surprised at first that Star would suggest her new sibling. But soon saw that the boy did have natural talent for both magic and combat, so he accepts Star's request and had Luck join much to the boy's delight. Luck immediately formed a fast friendship with Kelly as they both had a love for fighting, though he seemed to enjoy messing with Higgs whenever he sparred with her. Funnily enough though, this also had the added effect of motivating Higgs even more (if that was possible) in her own training. When it came time for Luck's trial to receive his weapon, the group minus El were surprised when Luck came back with a book. El explained that it was a Grimoire, a book that held powerful spells when paired with the right person; and this Grimoire happened to have lightning based spells which was perfect for Luck. Once their training was finished and their squad was formed, Marco gave Luck the rank of a Cavalier Knight. Although a majority of the time Luck was more or less under Kelly's command which he didn't mind.
Claudia Enfield

Summary: Coming from one of the few 'normal' noble families of Mewni, Claudia is without a doubt a prime example of what a noblemen's daughter is meant to be. Despite her noble upbringing, Claudia has shown she can be just as deadly in combat as she is when it comes to either her looks (and trust me this is the Claudia from Asterisk Wars, so you simps out there know what I'm talking about.) or when it comes to dealing with volatile situations. Star thinks of Claudia as a fellow rebel teen, seeing as how both of them like to do things in their own way. During one of her visits to the Butterfly Castle, Claudia caught wind of a special squad being taught by the legendary knight El which caught her interest. When Claudia asked Star about it she immediately got answer since she knew Star had a hard time trying to find anything from her. So Star asked El if it was alright for Claudia to join? At first El was a bit concerned about having someone who looked like they have never held a weapon before. That soon changed when El asked Higgs to have a mock battle with Claudia to see what she could do... which was stopped after 10 minutes with Higgs's training sword broken and Claudia's pointed at her neck. After that Claudia's visits to the castle were more frequent; her being the oldest meant that she was more or less like the team's big sis, despite Higgs saying it sounded stupid. When it came time for Claudia's trial she asked to go alone which no one spoke out against her request. Once she had returned; they saw that Claudia had two swords like Higgs, however they were larger and different colors. Also the guard on both blades were in the shape of a monster's eyes, yet Claudia refers to them as 'cute'. Upon becoming the squad's leader, Marco gave Claudia the rank of Knight Paladin.
This covers the members of Marco's squad. As you may have already guessed some of the members are characters from other shows, while the cannon characters are ones that I believe should have been given a bit more development. The only one on this team that I personally feel got some form of character grow is Kelly. When the show was in it's final season we got to see her home world, that her people's culture centers around fighting and got to see her on a more personal level with Marco over their respective love problems. Higgs was introduced to be a rival to Marco, right? But after she was introduced, we don't see her again until the LAST SEASON! I'm sorry, but that just didn't sit well with me.
Now the other thing you may have noticed is the introduction of this story's OC, The Legendary Knight El. Well… if you've already guessed, El is actually Elsword. And given his many job classes and experiences, I'd say he counts as a legend in my book.
Now finally, this story will be an AU story. Meaning that while Marco will not be Star's squire, he is sure as hell going to be her knight. And while Star will still be struggling with her duties as Princess of Mewni and many other daunting tasks, Marco and his team will be there to help where they can… oh and Tom too I guess ;). So while Star will have a slightly easier time, the enemies she and the others will face will be more challenging both on and off the battlefield.
Now this will be the FINAL, thing I'll say here. The whole Star and Moon not actually being part of the Butterfly Family? Yeah, that's not happening here. Star will be a legit Princess of the Butterfly Family… end of story. That's it. If I say anything more, It'll be spoilers. So look forward to this new brain child.
