The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover
Episode 17: Hong Kong? Ah Phooey!
Note: This episode is based on an episode of The Amazing Race Australia. S1 E3
Don: Last time, on The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover! Upon obtaining special artifacts known as Shen Gong Wu, we arrived in the Xiaolin Showdown Universe. While there, they participated in a Xiaolin Showdown tournament, and Omi learned not all girls punch like girls. However, things took a turn for the worst, when the villains from the Xiaolin Showdown Universe, Chase Young, Wuya, & Jack Spicer, arrived unexpectedly and approached the Talon Mercenaries and Insane Destructors with a proposition to take out the competition using the Sapphire Dragon Shen Gong Wu, turning practically everyone into sapphire soldiers. Luckily, Theresa had a vision that revealed the villains' plans, allowing her, Jay, Fillmore, & Ingrid to concoct a plan of their own in order to stop the villains and save the day. In which case, the Talon Mercenaries and Insane Destructors were arrested and eliminated, while the Xiaolin Showdown villains were imprisoned in the Ying-Yang World. (takes a deep breath in) The longer these openings get, the harder it is to say them all in one breath. (exhales) Anyway, our next destination in just on the horizon. What'll happen tonight? And how will we top last episode? In order to find out, you'll just have to watch this episode of, The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover
Cue Theme Song
Don: Last week, our teams competed in a Xiaolin Showdown tournament, but now, they'll have to leave the Xiaolin Showdown Universe. And because I was given a stern talking-too involving me "borrowing" the Shen Gong Wu, we'll be leaving in the Dimension Cars. (he then motions for the teams to come over to him) Now, because the last episode ended in a fairly unusual fashion, I've decided to keep the same placements from Tokyo, with the exceptions of the Safety Patrollers and Daters, who'll be in the top 2. Now all you have to do, is figure out which one of you will be first and which one will be second.
Fillmore: I say Jay & Theresa should be first.
Theresa: What, why us?
Ingrid: It was your vision that helped us figure out the villains' plan. Had it not been for you, we would've spent eternity as sapphire soldiers, decimating every world in a five-light-year vicinity.
Jay: She's right, Theresa. It was because of you that we saved the day. (to Ingrid) Thank you.
Ingrid: Of course. You'd do the same for us.
Jay: Yes, we would.
Don: Well, with that out of the way, let's get started. Proceed. (leaves)
Jay & Theresa step up to the Don Box, pressed the button on top, and received their next tip.
Theresa: Enter one of the dimension cars and proceed into the portal that'll take you towards your next destination. (to Jay) Let's go. (they proceed to enter one of the Dimension Cars)
Once they do, more teams step up to the Don Box, pressed the button on top, and enter the Dimension Cars. Once the Dimension Cars are all filled up, they enter the portal and proceed towards their next destination.
Don: Car #1 contains the Daters, Safety Patrollers, Ninjas, and Warriors; Car #2 contains the Complete Opposites, Mother & Daughter, Married Parents, and Monster Fighters; Car #3 contains the Best Friends, Weirdos, Slackers, and Brother & Sister; and Car #4 contains the Time Travelers and Brothers.
Scene switches to Car #1 where we see Theresa looking out the window, forlorn.
Jay: (noticing this) What's up, Theresa?
Theresa: I just… I kind of wish we could've found a way to help Widowmaker.
Fillmore: Hey, it'll be alright. In prison, Widowmaker may be able to achieve the psychiatric help she needs, in order for her to be on the right side of the law again.
Theresa: I guess you're right.
Ingrid: Don't worry. I know Captain Armando Smith. He's a fair man. He'll do right by her and the others, but mostly by her.
Theresa: Yeah. Yeah, you're right. He'll help her. Prison may be just what she needs.
Atlanta: Um, I couldn't help but overhear you mentioning Widowmaker and the others being sent to prison. Slight problem with that… um, you may wanna take a look at this. (shows them Stewie's journal)
Theresa: Isn't that Stewie's journal?
Fillmore: Where'd you get that?
Atlanta: Odie gave it to us.
Archie: We found about Reaper & Widowmaker's plan. We told Odie, and he showed us Stewie's journal.
Atlanta: He claimed the plan was unfinished, but when he took a second look, he found this. (she shows them the journal, which now reads the entirety of Stewie's plan)
Step #1: Create a false argument between myself & Brian so that we may be eliminated first, thus allowing us to fly under the radar and monitor the teams from afar.
Step #2: Once the Talon Mercenaries and Insane Destructors are eliminated and sent to prison, which'll be obvious due to them being villains, I will break them out while they're in the prison transport unit.
Archie: Who calls those things prison transport units?
Atlanta: Him apparently. Continuing on…
Step #3: Using my dimension remote, we will travel to the Xiaolin Showdown Universe, break into the vault, and steal the Ying Yo-Yo & the Yang Yo-Yo.
Step #4: We'll draw attention to ourselves by creating a minor explosion, thus provoking the monks to our location.
Step #5: Enter the Ying-Yang World in order to find Chase Young, Wuya, & Jack Spicer and help them escape, making sure the monks follow us.
Step #6: Trapped the monks in the Sphere of Yun and use the Ying Yo-Yo or the Yang Yo-Yo to send them through a portal into the real world before opening another portal that'll draw them back into the Ying-Yang World, ensuring that they've become evil.
Step #7: Return to the real world and collect the remaining Shen Gong Wu in the vault and eliminate any witnesses, if possible.
Step #8: Wait until the finale to make our move and use the Wu to defeat our enemies and take the money.
Step #9: Betray my "allies" (minus Brian) and take them out with a homemade bomb.
Step #10: Once I've won the million dollars and defeated the competition, I shall enjoy… (Fillmore quickly shuts the book)
Fillmore: We've already read that far, we don't wanna read it again.
Atlanta: Good call.
Ingrid: I can't believe it. We have his entire plan laid out in front of us. We know his every move. If we go back now, we can…
Jay: We can't go back. Not yet.
Atlanta: Why not? If we go back now, we can take them by surprise and stop them.
Jay: If they saw us coming, they could grab whatever Wu was in their possession and use it against us.
Fillmore: Jay's right. We'd be sitting ducks.
Atlanta: (groans) Fine. We'll wait. But we have to be updated on current events.
Theresa: Alright. Welcome to the alliance. (holds out her hand, which Atlanta shakes)
Archie: You know, now that I think about it, the monks are probably watching this right now. I'm sure when they see this, they'll know of the villains' plan.
Ingrid: You're right. I guess that problem solves itself.
A SpongeBob title card pops up with the word, "Meanwhile…", written on the front. The French then proceeds to the read phrase written on the card.
French Narrator: Meanwhile…
We cut to the Xiaolin Showdown Universe where we see Raimundo fidgeting with the television antenna, due to the fact that the television signal seems to have gone out the window.
Kimiko: A little to the left.
Clay: No, go right.
Omi: That's too far. Go back.
Kimiko: This is taking forever. I hope we don't miss any important information.
Raimundo: Nah, don't worry. I just saw them leave. With any luck, we'll get this fixed by the time they get to their next destination.
Clay: Well that's good. Often times, their car rides are underwhelming.
Omi: Indeed. It's more boring than watching artwork dry upon brick.
Raimundo: That wasn't even close. (he then gives the antenna in the correct position to get the signal working) Got it.
Kimiko: Cool.
Clay: Hoo-Wee.
Omi: Yes! (they then see the Dimension Cars arrive in China) Yes! I knew they'd go to China next. In your head, Raimundo.
Raimundo: (correcting him) "In your face." (Omi puts his hand in Raimundo's face)
Omi: Talk to my fingers. (wiggles his fingers. Raimundo's face falls due to Omi's botched slang)
Kimiko: Guys, shh, it's starting. (they turn towards the TV, and we zoom in, leading to a transition)
We see the teams exiting their vehicles and observing their surroundings.
Herry: Whoa. I wonder where we are. (begins coughing) And why is it so hard to breathe?
Ingrid: (sees a sign) Those are Chinese characters. We're in China.
[Place Description]
Don: China. Specifically Hong Kong. Home to towering skyscrapers, mystical buddhas, and a disturbingly large amount of fortune cookies, which'll be the focus of the next challenge. Teams must take a taxi to the Aberdeen Marina Club, and then take a ferry to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, where the next Don Box is located.
[End Description]
Scene shows the teams whistling for taxis, which pick them up and take them to the Aberdeen Marina Club… that sounded wrong. No matter. Scene switches to the Aberdeen Marina Club where we see the teams arrive. They then see a board with different departure times on it.
Atlanta: Hurry!
Fillmore: Come on!
Everyone grabs a departure time just as the first ferry arrives.
Don: The first ferry, scheduled to depart at 8:00pm, contains the Warriors, Mother & Daughter, Ninjas, and Married Parents; the second ferry, scheduled to depart at 8:30pm, contains the Safety Patrollers, Monster Fighters, Daters, Complete Opposites, and Best Friends; and the third ferry, scheduled to depart at 9:00pm, contains the Slackers, Weirdos, Brother & Sister, Time Travelers, and Brothers.
We see the top four teams enter the ferry, which proceeds towards the Jumbo Floating Restaurant.
Hanzo: Be seeing you shortly. (waves at them from the dock, prompting them to wave back)
Dick Daring: So K, what's our plan for eliminating the ones responsible for eliminating Dudley & Kitty? You know, the alliance?
Agent K: Oh that, I've abandoned that plot.
Dick Daring: What, why? You would only do that if… you were wrong?
Agent K: Fillmore, Ingrid, Jay, & Theresa put their lives on the line for us. They could've walked away. They could've left us for dead. But they saved us. They're heroes, not villains. Plus, now that I think about, I believe Dakota was just being clumsy as opposed to being villainous.
Dick Daring: Okay, that's fine.
Agent K: Plus, I can't let myself be distracted. We have to focus on the challenges.
Dick Daring: Right. I can't wait to chow down on those fortune cookies.
Atlanta: You like those.
Dick Daring: I'll admit the first couple dozen tasted pretty funky, but the slide down nice and easy. (Atlanta shudders upon hearing this)
Scene shows the ferry pulling up to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant. The top 4 teams exit the ferry and proceed towards the top floor. When they arrive, they notice several tables, with what appears to be over a thousand fortune cookies on said tables.
Pharah: It's an All-In. Fortune Cookie Fever?
Don: For this All-In challenge, teams must bite through over a thousand fortune cookies, looking for a fortune that contains an inscription, which'll lead them to their next tip.
Atlanta: Let's do this. (each team heads towards a table and begins chowing down on the fortune cookies) Blech. These taste like Styrofoam.
Hanzo: Either we bite through these, or we lose. Your choice. But I do agree. I hate fortune cookies. (bites into one and reads the fortune) "Your sensitivity is an asset."
Genji: What sensitivity?
Hanzo: I think they're referring to you.
Genji: Yeah, that's make sense.
Atlanta: Hey, shouldn't you be complaining to him. He can't do the challenge because of his visor.
Hanzo: (turns to Genji) She has a point.
Genji: It's just one of those things, I guess.
Hanzo: Guess so. (continues with the challenge)
Agent K: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Your personality is great. Use it proudly, don't debate"
Dick Daring: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Admire those you find charming." Hey, I do that already.
Archie: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Love is around the corner."
Hanzo: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Don't give up. You're on the right track." Such words of wisdom.
Ana: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Beautiful things await you." Ooo, I like that one. I'm keeping that in my wallet, next to your photograph, Fareeha. (Pharah smiles)
Scene switches to the ferry terminal where we see the middle five teams enter the second ferry. The second ferry leaves and proceeds towards the Jumbo Floating Restaurant.
Odie: You know, at night, Hong Kong looks beautiful, doesn't it?
Ingrid: Yeah, it does. The bright lights really bring out the night sky, and bring the city to life.
Odie: Well, all that's nice, but compared to you, Hong Kong's got nothin'.
Ingrid: Mister Romantic overhear. (they kiss)
Star: Aw, how sweet.
Fillmore: Yeah, that's pretty nice.
Theresa: (to Jay) Why don't we do stuff like that?
Jay: Uh… well, um… it's because… you see I… (Theresa stops him by kissing him on the lips) Well, I think that answered your question. (Theresa chuckles)
Nikki: Um, sorry to break up the mushy stuff, but we're here. (the ferry pulls up to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant)
We see the teams run up the stairs to the top floor where they see all the teams are still trying to complete the challenge.
Jen: Well that's fortunate. Looks like we're still in the running.
Herry: Let's go. (they begin chowing down on fortune cookies, trying to find the fortune they need to collect their next tip)
Marco: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "You're headin' in the right direction. Trust your instincts."
Ingrid: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Your life will be prosperous and full of love." (she smiles at Odie)
Odie: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Don't give up. Good fortune is on the horizon."
Jen: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "You will be a winner." I like that one.
We get a montage of teams biting into fortune cookies, reading the fortunes, and throwing them away, trying to find the correct fortune. Scene switches outside where we see the third ferry has just pulled up. The bottom five teams exit the ferry, head upstairs, collect a tip, and begin the challenge. We then continue our montage with everyone still trying to find the correct fortune.
Jonesy: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "You're talented with your hands." (smiles confidently upon reading this) Tell me something I don't know.
Bobby: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Soon, someone will make you very proud." Ooo, I hope they're talking about Lori.
Jude: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Hank says, 'Relax'."
Jonesy: Seriously? They have that fortune here too.
Jude: Apparently. Well it is a catchy saying. (bites into another fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Always honor your bets."
Jonesy: Okay, seriously?! I'm starting to think that some of these fortunes are pointed.
Jude: (shrugs. Bites into another fortune and reads the fortune) "The answers you seek are right in front of you."
Jen: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "You will receive the best position." Let's hope so.
Dakota: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Your keen sense of humor will make many good friends." See? I told my humor was affective.
Cavendish: Just keep looking for the fortune.
Ana: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Keep in good faith, and you will find the fortune."
Pharah: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Your fortune has delivered luck. You may now collect your next tip." Wait, this is it. Let's go. (they proceed towards the waiter and give him the fortune. He then lifts up the lid on his silver platter, revealing a tray of tips) Thank you. (takes one and gives it to Ana)
Ana: (reading the tip) It's an Either Or. Lion Dance or Kung Fu Stance.
Don: In this Either Or, teams must make their way to Kowloon Walled City Park, and choose between two common customs found in China. The choice: Lion Dance or Kung Fu Stance. In Lion Dance, teams must dress up and perform a traditional lion dance routine. Once they've successfully managed to perform the dance, the Lion Dance Master will give them their next tip. In Kung Fu Stance, teams must perform a series of precise kung fu moves, to the satisfaction of the Kung Fu Master. They then must break six clay tiles… (proceeds to break six clay tiles as a demonstration) in order to receive their next tip.
Pharah: Hey look. There's a Zip-It Tip opportunity.
Don: For those who don't know, a Zip-It Tip can allow one team to skip all tasks and go directly towards the Chill Zone. In order to collect the Zip-It Tip, teams must make their way to the Tin Hau Temple, where they will have to perform a ritual Buddhist monks and nuns perform for spiritual growth: completely shaving their heads. (a monk appears next to him, razor in hand, preparing the shave Don, prompting him to quickly get away) Hey get back. You aren't going to shave off these locks. (turning back towards the camera, once he's a safe distance away) Once they're completely bald, they'll receive the Zip-It Tip, allowing them to proceed towards the Chill Zone.
Ana: Should we do it?
Pharah: No. I'm not sacrificing my hair.
Ana: Me neither. Let's do Kung Fu Stance. (they proceed to leave) Good job, Fareeha.
Pharah: Thanks, mom.
We then cut back to the rest of the teams, who're still trying to complete the challenge.
Stan: (bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune) "Good luck will rain upon you." Well that's corny.
Ford bites into a fortune cookie and reads the fortune. When he does, he realizes it's the one they're looking for.
Ford: I got it. Let's go.
Stan: Yeah, baby. (Ford gives the waiter the fortune, and the waiter gives him a tip)
Ford: Let's see here. Lion Dance or Kung Fu Stance?
Stan: No offense, but these old joints can't really do martial arts moves like they used to.
Ford: Good point. Let's do Lion Dance. (they proceed to leave the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, much to some of the teams' annoyance)
Atlanta: We're they here on the last terminal? (she breaks open a fortune, which she discovers is the correct fortune) Yes! I got it!
Archie: Alright, Atlanta! (she gives the waiter the fortune, and he gives her her next tip)
Atlanta: Let's do Kung Fu Stance.
Archie: Good idea. (they proceed to leave) Come on, we gotta hurry!
Atlanta: That's what we do best.
Once they leave, we see the Safety Patrollers, Ninjas, Daters, and Married Parents managing to find the correct fortune and collect their tips before making their way out of the restaurant and towards the park. Meanwhile, the rest of the teams are still trying to find the correct fortune.
Rolf: Rolf has never been so confused. They say these are cookies, yet they look nothing like the sort. Plus, they make Rolf's nostrils fester with the rage of olives, and Rolf's mouth to become dry, like papa's chaffed skin. (some of the teams react in disgust upon hearing this)
Marco: Why does he always have to reveal such disgusting facts about his family.
Star: To be honest, I can't really understand a world he's saying. (bites into a fortune cookie) Man these are so good. (she then reads the fortune. She then realizes it's the one they're looking for) I found it!
Marco: Yes! Let's go. (they trade their fortune for their tip and proceed to leave)
Star: This could be our lucky day.
Marco: Let's hope so.
After they've left, the Time Travelers, Complete Opposites, Brother & Sister, Best Friends, Slackers, & Weirdos manage to find the correct fortune and proceed to leave, hoping to catch up with the other teams. None of them choose to collect the Zip-It Tip.
[Confessional: Jonesy & Jude]
Jonesy: No way in a million years am I getting my head shaved. The ladies love this look.
Jude: Yeah, dude. Plus, having my head shaved… been there, done that.
Jonesy: Weren't you also green during that time?
Jude: Don't remind me.
[End Confessional]
Scene switches to the Kowloon Walled City Park where we see Ana & Pharah arrive and make their way towards the Kung Fu Stance side of the Either Or. When they arrive, they see a group of students practicing a series of moves with perfect precision and timing. They begin trying to copy the moves of the students, however they're unable to keep up with their move set.
Pharah: This is taking too long, mom.
Ana: Think we should switch?
Pharah: We may have to.
Ana: Alright. Let's do it. (they decide to change sides of Either Or)
As soon as they arrive at Lion Dance, Ford & Stan arrive and begin observing the demonstration alongside Ana & Pharah.
Stan: This should be easier than learning kung fu moves. (they then watched the demonstration and saw how many moves they needed to remember)
Ford: You were saying?
Soon, more teams began showing up and heading towards their respective challenges. The Time Travelers, Complete Opposites, Brother & Sister, Slackers, and Weirdos head towards Lion Dance; while the Warriors, Safety Patrollers, Ninjas, Daters, Married Parents, Monster Fighters, and Best Friends head towards Kung Fu Stance. Upon reaching Kung Fu Stance, some of the teams realize how complex it truly is.
[Confessional: Jen & Nikki]
Nikki: There were like 35 different moves you had to learn, which included your hands, body, even your feet.
Jen: Yeah, it was pretty tricky.
[End Confessional]
Things aren't fairing any better for the other teams because of how precise and in-rhythm the dance is.
Cavendish: (scribbling stuff down in his notepad) Dakota, are you getting this down?
Dakota: Actually, I kind of lost track are the first few moves, can we start over? (Cavendish facepalms)
Jonesy: This isn't dancing! Real dancing involves upbeat music and epic moves. This is for chicks.
Jude: Think we should switch?
Jonesy: Definitely. (they decide to switch Either Or challenges and head towards Kung Fu Stance) With any luck, everyone will still be at the other part of the Either Or if that challenge is any indication of how difficult these challenges are.
Don: As another team switches sides on the Either Or, a select few teams are understanding the move set and getting it down.
We cut to Kung Fu Stance where we see the Ninjas, Warriors, Theresa, Agent K, & Marco seem to understand the moves associated with the challenge. It may help that they've trained in martial arts since they were young. When they think they're ready, the Ninjas present themselves in front of the Kung Fu Master and perform the routine. Upon completing it, he nods, signaling that they've completed the first part of the challenge.
Hanzo: Yes! (makes his way over towards the clay tiles) We each must break six clay tiles.
Genji: Please. We did this when we were boys. This should be easy. (they both break the six tiles in a single blow, without fear, hesitation, or pain. The Kung Fu Master, impressed, gives them their next tip) Arigatō. (reading the tip) Travel to Macau.
Don: Teams must now travel by ferry to Macau. Once there, they must make their way to the Venetian Hotel & Casino, (enters a dressing room while carrying a suit) change into formal wear, (comes out wearing said suit) and play Baccara, one of the most popular card games in Asia. Each win will earn Mahjong lettered tile. After ten wins, the next location will be spelled out, and teams will receive their next tip. (we focus in on the Mahjong tiles, which read, "A Ma Village")
Genji: Let's go.
Hanzo: If we keep our lead, we may be able to get first.
Genji: Indeed. (they enter a taxi and head towards the ferry terminal)
Once they leave, the Warriors step up and do the routine, but end up messing up a few steps, prompting them to have to start over.
Atlanta: Dang it. We were so close.
Archie: Hey, don't worry. We'll get it. You just have to be patient.
Atlanta: Right, let's try it again.
However, before they do the routine, the Kung Fu Master stops them, and motions towards the other teams who're waiting in line.
Atlanta: Oh, right. All yours.
The Daters step up and try their hand at it, but Jay ends up messing up, prompting a no from the Kung Fu Master. The same thing ends up happening to the Married Parents and Monster Fighters because of Star & Dick Daring, forcing them to start over.
Scene switches to the Lion Dance challenge where we see the Weirdos trying their hand at the challenge, which they somehow manage to complete, much to everyone's shock.
Jonny 2x4: Woo-Hoo! Nice work, Rolf.
Rolf: It was nothing. While not as bold as the Dance of the Hairless Otter, it still has to ferocity, which Rolf can accomplish. (takes the tip from the Lion Dance Master) Thank you. (they leave)
Ronnie Anne: (sarcastic) Great. The Weirdos beat us.
Cavendish: Well, let's try our hand at it and see how we do. Let's go, Dakota.
Dakota: Right.
The Time Travelers attempt to do the Lion Dance, but not long after they begin, they end up losing their footing and fall on their faces.
Dakota: Yeah, that outta do it.
The Brothers, Mother & Daughter, and the other teams try their hand at the challenge, but all of them mess up for one reason or another.
Herry: This is so embarrassing.
Odie: I'm just glad Ingrid's not here to see this.
Don: As our teams continue to fail miserably, the Ninjas have arrived at the ferry terminal.
Scene switches to the ferry terminal where we see Hanzo & Genji arrive.
Hanzo: (to the ticket agent) We'd like to purchase two tickets to Macau. When does the next ferry leave?
Ticket Agent: (checking) In two minutes. (gives Hanzo & Genji their tickets) Last two.
Hanzo: Perfect. Let's go. (they quickly get onto the ferry, which begins leaving the terminal) The only two on the first ferry to Macau.
Genji: Now that is lucky. (they fist bump) I'd say our chances of attaining first place are fairly high.
Hanzo: Indeed.
[Confessional: Hanzo & Genji]
Hanzo: We aren't very cocky individuals. But when we have an opportunity like this one, what's the harm in letting loose a few comments. (Genji nods)
[End Confessional]
Don: As Hanzo & Genji gain pleasure from knowing they're in first, more teams begin completing the Either Or.
Scene switches back to the park where we see the Safety Patrollers, Warriors, Daters, and Married Parents manage to complete the Kung Fu routine, gaining the approval of the Kung Fu Master. They each then manage to break the clay tiles, earning each team a tip. As for the Lion Dance, Brother & Sister and Mother & Daughter manage to complete the challenge and collect a tip as well.
Odie: Come on, Herry. More teams are leaving. If we want to remain with them, we gotta get this right. Right here, right now.
Herry: On it. (they begin doing the Lion Dance routine. And with the fear of ending up in the back of the back as their motivation, they manage to complete the routine) Yes!
Odie: Alright! (takes a tip from the Lion Dance Master) Thanks. Come on, Herry. We gotta move. (they leave)
At around the same time, the Time Travelers and Brothers complete Lion Dance, while the Slackers, Best Friends, and Monster Fighters complete Kung Fu Stance. Scene switches to the ferry terminal where we the Safety Patrollers, Warriors, Daters, Married Parents, Brother & Sister, and Mother & Daughter boarding the same ferry the Weirdos are on. Just as the ferry begins pulling out of the terminal, the Complete Opposites just aboard just in time.
Ingrid: Cutting it kind of close, aren't you?
Odie: Maybe. That's just how I role. (Ingrid slyly smiles) Okay, I'll admit, I was scared, but I'm here, so that's all that matters.
Ingrid: And that's why I love you. I feel like I found one of the only honest people on Earth. (she hugs him. Little does she know, Odie looks scared as he's hugging her)
[Solo Confessional: Odie]
Odie: Oh man. I can't believe I didn't think about that. I'm keeping something huge from Ingrid: I'm the descendant of Odysseus, and my friends and I fight Greek monsters and soldiers and the God of Time, Cronus. If she ever finds out, she'll freak. But I can't tell her, or she'll think I'm crazy. Oh, this is so not good.
[End Confessional]
Scene switches to Macau where we see the 1st ferry arrive and enter a taxi, which proceeds to taxi them towards the Venetian Hotel. Once they arrive, Hanzo puts on the proper attire. (Note: Look up Hanzo's Scion Outfit). They then proceed towards the casino where they get themselves seated and begin playing Baccara.
ZNBT: For those who don't know how to play Baccara, the player and the banker each receive two cards. Each Baccara coup has three possible outcomes: "player", "banker", or "tie". The teams will also be playing the variant, baccara banque, in which they make a choice: Either they bet on their hand or the banker's. Whichever one is the highest wins. Anyway, back to the show. Sorry for the interruption.
Once Hanzo & Genji begin, they realize that the whole game is based on chance.
Hanzo: This may take a while.
Genji: Hopefully, not before the other teams arrive. (they bet on themselves and win, gaining the first Mahjong tile) Well, it's a start. (they bet on themselves and lose)
Hanzo: But the road to first place is paved with failure.
Genji: Almost a saying. (they bet on the dealer and win, gaining another Mahjong tile)
Scene switches to the Hong Kong ferry terminal where we see the Best Friends, Slackers, Monster Fighters, Time Travelers, and Brothers enter the 3rd ferry and proceed towards Macau.
Marco: I think we may've jinxed ourselves when we said this would be our lucky leg.
Star: Oh come on. Who believes in that stuff? (at that moment, the captain comes onto the intercom)
Captain: Attention folks, we've just received word that rough waters will be approaching. To ensure your safety, we've been issued a two-hour delay in order to wait it out. (everyone voices their complaints)
Jude: Totally harshing my mellow, dude.
Star: So? It probably affected the other ferries as well.
Captain: Please note that we're the only ferry affected, as the others made it to the other side before the report was issued.
Star: (laughs nervously) Um… coincidence?
Scene switches to the Macau ferry terminal where we see the 2nd ferry arrive, with the Complete Opposites, Daters, Warriors, Safety Patrollers, Married Parents, Weirdos, Brother & Sister, and Mother & Daughter exit the ferry and enter taxis which proceed towards the Venetian Hotel.
Fillmore: (taking in the sites) Wow. It's like Vegas out there. Dawg.
Ingrid: The Vegas of Asia.
Fillmore: Guess so. (they laugh)
Scene switches to the Casino where we see Hanzo & Genji have managed to win 9 of the 10 games required to obtain their tip. Thanks to a bit of luck, Hanzo & Genji manage to obtain the final Mahjong tile, revealing their next location.
Hanzo: Yes.
Genji: (receiving the tip) Thank you. (reading the tip) Travel to the A Ma Cultural Village where you'll find the next Don Box. Let's go. (they change out of their formal attire and proceed to leave)
Not long after they leave, the teams from the 2nd ferry arrive. They get into their formal attire and take their seats. Soon, they begin playing.
Ingrid: Interesting. It appears as though this isn't your typical card game.
Theresa: Let's just try it and see how we do.
Pretty soon, teams are placing bets left and right on who'll win and who'll lose. After some doing, the Safety Patrollers, Warriors, and Mother & Daughter manage to win ten rounds and receive their next tip. Once they've changed out of their formal attire, they leave and head towards A Ma Cultural Village.
Scene switches to the A Ma Cultural Village where we see the Ninjas arrive and receive their next tip.
Genji: It's a Botch or Watch. Who Can Crack the Animal Code?
Don: In this Botch or Watch, teams must figure out the order of the Chinese Zodiac using only the clues provided to them.
Clues
- 1968 was the year of the Monkey.
- The Rabbit hops once to the left.
- The Horse is two years after the Dragon.
- 1984 was the Year of the Rat.
- Dog chases the Rooster just before it ends.
- 2008 was the start of the new Zodiac cycle.
- In one way the Pig couldn't be farther from the Rat. In another it's right before.
- The Ram stays where it is.
- The Snake slithers to the left.
Don: Using these clues, they must place the animal signs, each representing a year in the 12-year cycle in the Chinese Zodiac, in the correct order. If the order is correct, the gate with open, and they can run to the Chill Zone. The last team to arrive, may be cut from the competition. Teams that are not familiar with Eastern Mythology, will have the odds stacked against them.
Hanzo: I'm up. (he proceeds towards the lanterns and begins sorting them. However, he doesn't appear to be using the clues provided)
[Solo Confessional: Hanzo]
Hanzo: Something my father taught myself and Genji when we were boys was the twelve symbols of the Chinese Zodiac. We may be Japanese, but we had to study Asian symbols and their meanings. I memorized the order fairly quickly.
[End Confessional]
Soon, Hanzo finishes the challenge and motions for Genji to join him at the gate. Soon, the gate opens, and they enter the A Ma Cultural Village, making their way towards the Chill Zone.
Don: Hanzo & Genji. You're team #1. (they cheer and congratulate each other) Well done, you two. I had very little doubt that you would succeed.
Hanzo: Thank you. (they leave)
Don: (turning towards the camera) Well, with the top spot taken, our remaining teams better skedaddle in the hopes of avoiding elimination.
Scene switches to the Casino where we see the teams continuing to play Baccara. Apparently, a couple teams developed a strategy.
[Confessional: Jay & Theresa]
Theresa: We figured that, since it was basic luck and chance, we decided to always bet on the dealer. We were able to win most of the hands dealt to us.
Jay: It wasn't the greatest strategy, but it was one that worked, so I'm not complaining.
[Switch Confessional: Jonny 2x4 & Rolf]
Jonny 2x4: Our strategy was to let Plank take the reins. He's a master at this sort of things.
Rolf: Those folks had not a brain between them. Amateurs I tell you!
[End Confessional]
Jay & Theresa and Jonny 2x4 & Rolf finish the challenge and collect their tip. Not long after, Brother & Sister, Complete Opposites, and Married Parents complete the challenge and leave.
Don: Now that all the teams from the 2nd ferry have completed the challenge, ferry #3 has arrived in Macau.
Scene switches to the Macau ferry terminal where we see the Best Friends, Slackers, Monster Fighters, Time Travelers, and Brothers leave and proceed towards the Casino. Scene switches to the Casino where we see them arrive and get suited up. They make their way towards the tables and begin playing.
Ford: It appears as though it's a complex pattern of intricate gameplay maneuvers. Now, we need to figure out a plan to…
Stan: (cutting him off) Actually, I already have a strategy. (he then begins placing bets and begins winning several hands. Upon seeing this, Jonesy & Jude follow his example and begin winning as well, soon, both teams win 10 hands and get their next tip) See? Easy as that.
Jonesy: (approaching him) How'd you do that?
Stan: Simple. I just used something a little… unorthodox. (whispering) Card counting.
Jonesy: Isn't that illegal?
Stan: Not if you do it discreetly. And I happen to be a master at that. (straightens his bow tie and leaves with Ford, with Jonesy & Jude not far behind them)
Scene switches to the A Ma Cultural Village where we see the Safety Patrollers, Warriors, and Mother & Daughter arrive and begin the challenge. The team members participating in the challenge are Fillmore, Atlanta, & Pharah. They then begin the challenge. However, Atlanta appears to be struggling a tad.
[Solo Confessional: Atlanta]
Atlanta: I'm familiar with Greek Mythology, not Chinese Mythology. How am I supposed to know what animal goes where in the Chinese Zodiac?
[End Confessional]
As for Fillmore & Pharah, they manage to complete the challenge. Fillmore then approaches Atlanta to help her.
Fillmore: Hey, since we're allies, I'll help you out a bit. That goes there. That one goes next. That one goes there. Got it? (Atlanta nods) Good. Follow the clues and you'll be alright. (Atlanta gives a thumbs up as Fillmore & Ingrid head towards the gate, only a few steps behind Ana & Pharah)
Scene switches to the inside of the A Ma Cultural Village where we see Mother & Daughter and the Safety Patrollers check in.
Don: Well done teams. Mother & Daughter 2nd, Fillmore & Ingrid 3rd. Congrats. And props to the Safety Patrollers for being courteous and helping your fellow teammates. And it appears as though it paid off. (Fillmore & Ingrid turn and see Archie & Atlanta approach the Chill Zone and check in) Archie & Atlanta take 4th place. Well done. (they cheer)
Scene shows the Daters, Complete Opposites, Weirdos, Brother & Sister, and Married Parents arrive at the A Ma Cultural Village and begin the challenge. The team members participating in the challenge are Jay, Herry, Rolf, Ronnie Anne, & Dick Daring, which begins worrying Odie, Jonny 2x4, & Agent K.
[Solo Confessional: Agent K]
Agent K: No offense to my husband, but he isn't exactly the smartest man alive. I'm not sure how well he'll do, given the many concussions he's suffered over the years.
[End Confessional]
Meanwhile, Jay & Ronnie Anne manage to complete the challenge. And, just like with Fillmore & Atlanta, Jay helps Herry, allowing him to complete the challenge. All three teams head towards the Chill Zone and check in.
Don: Brother & Sister 5th, Jay & Theresa 6th, and the Complete Opposites take 7th.
Odie: (breathes a sigh of relief) Still here for another day.
Herry: Yep. (to Jay) Thanks for the assist.
Jay: No problem. (they leave)
Don: Half the spots have been taking, leaving the other half in danger of elimination.
Scene switches to the Casino where we see the Best Friends, Monster Fighters, and Time Travelers complete the challenge and collect their next tip. They leave soon after and quickly head towards the A Ma Cultural Village. Scene switches to the Village where we see the Slackers and Brothers arrive and begin the challenge. The team members participating in the challenge are Jude & Stan, much to Ford & Jonesy's chagrin.
Jonesy: Ah man. We are so f***ed.
Ford: Watch your tongue, young man. But I agree. We're f***ed.
[Solo Confessional: Ford]
Ford: My brother knows a lot of things. History is not one of them.
[End Confessional]
Scene shows Jude, Stan, Dick Daring, & Rolf struggling with the challenge, even with the clues provided to them.
Jude: "The snake slithers to the left." Um, how far?
Rolf: What? The pig is last! And the ox is second to a rat?! Poppycock! (to the temple) May the onion of agony soil your macaroon!
Stan: Did anyone else catch that?
Dick Daring: Not a clue. Kind of like this puzzle? (begins scratching his head in confusion)
Soon, the Best Friends, Monster Fighters, and Time Travelers arrive and begin the challenge.
Marco: Chinese Zodiac? Yeah, I think I can do that.
Jen: Actually, you can't. You faced the bullet ants in Brazil, so it's her turn. (points at Star)
Marco: Oh no.
Star: Yeah! I can't wait to see what cute animals there are.
Alongside Star, Jen & Dakota begin doing the challenge as well. And thanks to Jen's study time and the fact that Dakota's a time traveler who has to study history in order to time travel, both teams complete the challenge and advance towards the Chill Zone.
Don: Best Friends take 8th while the Time Travelers take 9th. Still in it for another week. (they cheer before leaving the mat) It's down to the last five teams. And given the fact that the players participating the challenge aren't doing so hot, this may take a while.
Scene shows the bottom 5 team members struggling to finish the challenge.
Marco: Yeah, we're doomed.
Agent K: Oh don't worry. I'm sure she'll get it.
Marco: No she won't. She hasn't been on Earth for very long, meaning she has zero clue about Earth's history, meaning she doesn't know about any Zodiac symbol.
Agent K: Wow. And I thought my husband was worse off.
After several trial and errors, Stan & Jude complete the challenge and make their way towards the Chill Zone.
Don: Ford & Stan 10th, Jonesy & Jude 11th. (they leave the mat) It's down to the final three, and things have never been so intense.
We cut between Dick Daring, Rolf, & Star, who're intensely focusing on completing the challenge, despite their lack of knowledge. And despite using the clues provided, things are not looking up.
Rolf: Rolf does not think the ox should go there. It should go here. (places the ox in the wrong position)
Dick Daring: "The Ram stays where it is"? What does that mean?
Star: Uh… what is Chinese exactly? (Marco facepalms)
Dick then begins trying to take it slow and steady, and trying to impress his wife as best he can, he eventually manages to solve it.
Dick Daring: Yes!
Agent K: Great job, Dick! I knew you could do it. (they kiss) Let's go. (they arrive on the mat as quickly as they entered the Village)
Don: Married Parents take 12th. Still in the race.
We then cut to the Botch or Watch where we see Star hasn't moved any of her lanterns while Rolf still refuses to move the ox, pig, and ram from the top three spots.
Jonny 2x4: Come on, Rolf. You gotta move them to the correct positions.
Rolf: Rolf believes that livestock are superior. They should not be placed in such low positions.
Jonny 2x4: I don't get him either, buddy. What's that? Huh? You think so? Okay, if you think that'll work. (clears his throat)
Holds Plank up and turns him towards Rolf and, after a moment a Plank staring at Rolf, Rolf suddenly freezes before beginning the place the lanterns in their correct positions, managing to complete the challenge.
Jonny 2x4: Nice work, buddy. All that studying really paid off.
Marco: How'd you do that?
Jonny 2x4: Don't ask me, ask Plank. He's the one who studied hypnosis.
Marco: (uncomfortable) Right. Anyway, you can go. We'll just wait here to be eliminated.
Jonny 2x4: Oh well, it was nice meeting you. (holds out his hand)
Marco: Likewise. (he shakes it as Jonny 2x4 heads towards the gate with Rolf)
The Weirdos then proceed to check into the Chill Zone, saving them from elimination.
Don: Weirdos, you're in 13th place. Saved by the skin of your teeth. Well done.
Jonny 2x4: Golly, Plank. That was close.
Rolf: Yes. But thankfully, Rolf finished the challenge and succeeded.
Don: Yep, totally. (they leave; under his breathe) If only you knew. (he then walks away from the Chill Zone and heads towards Star & Marco's location. When she sees him, Star stops what she's doing and turns to face him) Star & Marco. All the teams have checked into the Chill Zone before you could complete the challenge. This means you're the last team to arrive, and unfortunately, you have been eliminated from the race. (they sigh in defeat)
Star: Sorry Marco. I jinxed us. I caused us to lose.
Marco: Hey, don't worry, Star. It happens. Besides, I'm glad I got to do this with you. It was fun.
Star: Yes. Yes, it was.
Marco: We may not 've won, but hey, it was still worth it.
Star: Definitely. See ya, Don. (they begin leaving) Almost, sorry about some of the property damage I caused. Hopefully it wasn't too bad.
Don: I covered it. Don't worry. (she gives a thumbs up before she & Marco leave) Well, they took their elimination better than most. That's good to see. (to the camera) With yet another team eliminated from the competition, things have never been so intense. What'll happen next week? Who'll win and who'll get the boot? Find out on the next exciting episode of, The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover.
Scene switches to the Xiaolin Temple where we see a portal open up. We then see Brian, Stewie, Reaper, Widowmaker, Demoman, & Pyro exit the portal and observe their surroundings. That's when they spot the Moller 2000.
Brian: Good thing the monks didn't get rid of it.
Widowmaker: I believe they wanted to keep it as a trophy, to remind them that they won.
Demoman: Makes sense. I do that too.
Reaper: (rolls his eyes before turning towards Stewie) Can you get it working?
Stewie: Of course. (enters the cockpit and hotwires the device so that it can work) With any luck, will dig out the Wu from right under them. And if all goes according to plan, we'll be having a very Merry Christmas.
Reaper: It's April.
Stewie: Potato, tomato. We'll have a Happy Easter. Big deal. Just get in. (everyone gets inside the Moller 2000) Everyone ready? (they nod) Good. Let's go steal some Shen Gong Wu. (smiles sinisterly as the screen fades to black)
Well, that was a fun chapter. Now, as some of you know, I have based a couple episode plots on some episodes from The Amazing Race. But I kind of wanted to expand a little bit, so I decided to base this episode off of an episode from one of the international versions of The Amazing Race. This is one of my favorite episodes from The Amazing Race Australia, so I decided to base this chapter off of that episode. Also, I wanted to include a Hong Kong Phooey reference. Now, as for Star & Marco's elimination, they didn't have much going for them. Plus, they were causing some property damage, and I don't think Don's pockets run as deep as you may think they do. So I had to eliminate them, and their elimination here made sense because Star doesn't know Earth history, so she'd probably fail at it. Plus, this does answer a question JTWAS1994 had in one of his reviews. Hope that clears things up. And of course, there's the bad guy plot. In order to understand that, you'll have to read and find out what's going to happen. As always, please like, review, guess the references, and I'll see you all next time. Zàijiàn.
