Episode 19: Hawaiian Honeyruin
Don: Last time, on The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover! We arrived in the Futurama where the teams had to guard a box. Trust me when I say the challenge is more thrilling than what I'm making it out to be. For you see, the box contained a parallel universe, and the teams got a glimpse at this universe, discovering several noticeable differences involving attire, personality, affiliation, and love interest. Yeah, I don't think I'll ever get the images of delinquent Fillmore & Ingrid kissing. Speaking of which, Universe 2 Fillmore & Ingrid nearly destroyed several universes, but thanks to the valiant efforts of the teams from Universes 1 & 2, they were defeated and eliminated in Universe 2, while I decided to make the last challenge in this Universe a non-elimination. Man that's confusing. Hopefully, things will be a lot simpler here on today's episode of, The Ridonculous Race Cartoon Crossover.
Cue Theme Song
Don: We're back in the Futurama Universe, where we shall be departing shortly. And because there were no placements given last episode, we'll just keep the same placements from Hong Kong. So that means, the Ninjas are first once again.
Hanzo & Genji step up to the Don Box, pressed the button on top, and received their next tip.
Genji: Proceed to enter one of the Dimension Cars and enter the portal towards your next destination. (to Hanzo) Let's go.
Hanzo & Genji proceed to enter one of the Dimension Cars. Once they do, more teams step up to the Don Box, collect a tip, and enter one of the Dimension Cars. Once everyone has entered the cars, they proceed into the portal towards their next destination.
Don: Car #1 contains the Ninjas, Mother & Daughter, Safety Patrollers, and Warriors; Car #2 contains Brother & Sister, the Daters, Complete Opposites, and Best Friends; Car #3 contains the Time Travelers, Brothers, Slackers and Married Parents; and Car #4 contains the Weirdos.
Don: For now, they can kick back and relax until their next destination.
A SpongeBob timecard pops up with the words, "At that moment…", written on said card. The French Narrator then proceeds to say the phrase written on the card.
French Narrator: At that moment…
Scene switches to the Ying-Yang World in the Xiaolin Showdown Universe where we see Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko, & Clay looking around for Reaper, Widowmaker, Demoman, & Pyro.
Omi: Hurry, we must find the villains before they release Chase Young and the others.
Raimundo: Yeah. I can't even imagine what'll happen if those guys get loose.
Clay: I can. And let me tell ya, it's about as pretty as a swarm of ticks. (Kimiko shudders upon hearing this)
Kimiko: (notices something) Come on, I think I see something up ahead.
The monks proceed towards the object that has caught Kimiko's attention. We then see Stewie hiding behind one of the pillars, flashing a mirror on the object that has fixated the monks' attention. Upon discovering the object is a mirror, Kimiko picks it up, and notices in the reflection that Stewie is behind her and the others.
Stewie: Greetings. (the monks turn around to face him. Kimiko recognizes him immediately)
Kimiko: Stewie Griffin.
Omi: The infant who was eliminated in the first episode?
Stewie: Correct. However, there's more to me than what meets the eye. For you see, I have an ingenious plan to steal all the Shen Gong Wu, and use it to take the world. And once the world is mine for the taking, I'll move on to the next world, and the next, and the next, until every world is under my control.
Raimundo: Whoa. That is one evil baby.
Omi: You may just be a child, but we must stop you. (they get in fighting position)
Just then, one of Demoman's bombs rolls towards them and blows up, resulting in them being caught in the explosion and covered in soot.
Clay: (coughing up smoke) I feel crispier than a chicken that's been cooked on the grill for too long.
Demoman: (appearing) Just something I thought I'd give you to weaken you.
At that moment, Reaper, Widowmaker, & Pyro appear from their hiding places.
Reaper: Prepare to lose. (he activates his Shadow Step ability and appears right in front of the monks)
He then begins firing upon them with his Hellfire Shotguns, prompting the monks to try and avoid his shots. Omi then activates his ability in the hopes of getting Reaper.
Omi: Tsunami Strike! Water! (launches a large water current towards Reaper. However, Reaper changes into his Wraith form, and the water goes right through him, much to Omi's shock and terror) Uh oh.
Reaper activates his Shadow Step once more, and appears behind Omi, kicking him from behind into one of the buildings. We then cut to Kimiko battling Pyro, who tries to burn her.
Kimiko: Please, you think you can harm me. Fire's my element. Judolette Flip! Fire! (launches several fireballs towards Pyro, who uses his flamethrower's secondary ability: compressed air. This allows him to redirect the path of the fireballs to Raimundo & Clay, completely scorching them) Oops. (Widowmaker then activates her Venom Mine at Kimiko's feet, knocking her out)
Widowmaker: Magnific.
Raimundo: Typhoon B- (before he can finish his phrase, Demoman launches a Sticky Bomb at his face. He then activates it, blowing up Raimundo's face) Ow. (he then collapses)
Clay: (looking towards the villains) Alright. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Let me show you how we do things Kung Fu Cowboy Style. Seismic Kick! Earth! (steps on the ground, causing a boulder to be lifted in the air, and for him to launch it at the villains. The villains manage to avoid it, and Widowmaker uses her grappling hook to launch it back at Clay) Uh oh. (the boulder lands on top of him and the other monks)
The villains approach the scene. Stewie then pulls out a blaster, which turns out to be an anti-gravity gun, and lifts up the boulder, revealing the monks have been pushed into the ground.
Stewie: Good job.
Reaper: This better be worth it, child.
Stewie: Trust me… (Brian arrives, rolling the Sphere of Yun onto the scene, which still contains Chase Young, Wuya, and Jack Spicer) If all goes according to plan, I… I mean, we will be living large and in charge.
Demoman: Just do it already.
Chase Young: Indeed. We don't have all eternity. Well actually, Wuya & I do, but I doubt the rest of you have an eternity to complete the task at hand.
Stewie: Reversing Mirror! (Stewie reverses the effects of the Sphere of Yun, freeing Chase, Wuya, and Jack)
Wuya: Finally. It smelled revolting in there. And Jack wasn't helping things.
Jack Spicer: Hey, don't judge me. I get gassy when I'm nervous.
Wuya: I thought you get overly emotional.
Jack Spicer: Whatever.
Stewie: Pardon me, but there are more important matters to be attending to. Sphere of Yun! (he activates the Sphere of Yun, which he begins to use on the monks. Then, just before is completely closes, Stewie throws the Yang Yo-Yo and Reversing Mirror inside the Sphere of Yun. He then pulls out the Ying Yo-Yo) Ying Yo-Yo! (he opens up a portal back to the real world and pushes the Sphere through with the monks still inside. The portal then closes, leaving the villains in the Ying-Yang World)
Widowmaker: Now what?
Stewie: You'll see.
At that moment, a portal opens, and we see the monks jump out of the portal. The villains prepare for what they assume is a fight and get into battle stance. But then, they notice the monks look different. As opposed to their red robes, blue sashes, and black pants, they're now wearing black robes, red sashes, and white pants. The monks they bow their heads at the villains.
Omi: We are ready to aid in your quest.
Kimiko: Once we've claimed all the Wu, it's world domination, baby.
Demoman: What just happened?
Stewie: Simple. Since I placed the Yang Yo-Yo in the Sphere of Yun, and sent them into the real world…
Jack Spicer: They turned evil, because if you enter the real world with only one of the yo-yos, then your chi becomes reversed.
Chase Young: (to Stewie) Very impressive. Your plan does indeed seem like it has potential, especially now that you have the monks on our side, but I've tried this plan once before.
Stewie: I'm aware. But your mistake was only turning one of the monks evil. With everyone on our side, we'll be able to take the Wu with no complications. And if anyone tries to stop us, we'll be ready. (smiles evilly)
Scene switches to a tropical location where we see a portal open up. We then see the cars exiting the portal and landing on the beach. The teams proceed to exit the vehicles and begin observing their surroundings.
Jude: Whoa. Is this heaven?
Jen: I don't think so. But it is nice.
Cavendish: (observing his quantum localizer) It says here that we're in… Hawaii.
Dakota: Ooo. Looks like we'll be working on our tans.
[Place Description]
Don: Hawaii. Home to beautiful sunshine, ukuleles, and shirts that should only be worn ironically. Now that the teams have arrived, they'll approach the Don Box and proceed to begin the next challenge. (points to a Don Box wearing a Hawaiian shirt)
[End Description]
The teams proceed towards the Don Box located next to a dock and proceed to collect their next tip.
Agent K: It's a Botch or Watch. Whoever didn't organize the zodiac lanterns in Hong Kong has to go diving for wedding rings?
Don: In this challenge, botchers must dive into Hawaii's most popular wedding bay, and retrieve one of the rings from the bottom.
Jay: Then swim to the beach at the tip of the bay to meet your partner.
Genji: Let's do this.
The teams proceed towards the edge of the dock overlooking the bay, with the team members participating in the challenge readying themselves for battle. The team members participating in the challenge are Genji, Ana, Ingrid, Archie, Bobby, Theresa, Odie, Nikki, Cavendish, Ford, Jonesy, Agent K, & Jonny 2x4. After limbering up, team members begin diving in. Jonny 2x4 then proceeds to hand Plank over to Rolf.
Jonny 2x4: I can't let Plank get wet. It would do him great harm. So you need to be extra vigilant with my buddy, or else he'll suffer more brain damage. (jumps in the water, leaving a bewildered Rolf with Plank)
Rolf: The wood has a brain?
Before diving in, Ingrid hugs Odie for encouragement.
Ingrid: For luck.
Odie: Thanks.
They both proceed to dive in. However, while Ingrid lands in the water, Odie ends up hitting a rock, much to everyone's discomfort. Archie then turns towards Jonesy.
Archie: Cannonball? (he & Jonesy then jump off the dock)
Jonesy: Yes! (they cannonball into the bay)
Jude: Woo-Hoo-Hoo! Yeah!
Atlanta: Go, Archie! You got this!
We then cut underwater where we see teams searching the area. After a brief period, most of them had to resurfaced in order to catch their breaths.
Cavendish: This may take a while if we're forced to catch our breaths every few minutes.
Ana: Don't worry. It'll work out in the end.
Bobby: (looking around, notices something) Hey, where's Genji?
The team members look around and notice that Genji is indeed not with them. As it turns out, thanks to his cybernetic implants, he's able to hold his breath longer than the others, allowing him to search longer. Eventually, he manages to find a ring and resurfaces.
Hanzo: Well done, Genji! I'll meet you at the tip of the bay.
Genji: Will do. (he begins swimming towards the tip of the bay to meet up with Hanzo)
Jonny 2x4: Wow. They got done with the challenge fast. (turning towards the docks) I'm going as fast as I can, buddy! (dives underwater)
We cut underwater where we see teams searching for rings. We cut to Ford searching in some seaweed and grabbing what he believes to be a ring, only to discover it to be a baby octopus, which sprays him with ink.
Scene switches to the surface where we see air bubbles rising to the surface, as the team members not participating in the challenge watch anxiously to see who surfaces. After a moment, Ford surfaces with a ring in his hand.
Stan: Yes! Good job, bro! Good job indeed. That ring is worth a fortune.
Ford: Focus Stan. Meet me on the beach.
Stan: Right. (begins heading towards the tip of the bay)
We cut back underwater where we see the teams continuing their search. Soon, Jonesy finds two rings on a bed of coral and, noticing no one else is around him, takes the two rings and swims back to the surface.
Jonesy: I got two!
Jude: Sweet!
Nikki: (resurfacing) Seriously?! Not a single ring anywhere?!
Jonesy: Aw man! I was gonna sell this one for cash. (gives one of his rings to Nikki) Here.
Nikki: Thanks. (takes it from him)
Jonesy: (notices the two rings they have in their possession) So Nikki, have you ever given any thought to this someday? (holds up the ring)
Nikki: I'm good with the here and now. I know how much you hate spoilers. (they laugh at this, kiss, and then swim towards the tip of the beach)
Don: As the top 4 teams head towards the next challenge, the rest of the teams are still searching for rings and coming up short.
We cut underwater where we see teams trying and failing to obtain a ring. We see Cavendish reach into a cave and grab what he believes to be a ring, only to discover it's an electric eel, which shocks him; we see Bobby grab onto something and smile, only to discover an eel biting his arm, causing him to scream.
We then cut to Agent K & Theresa going after the same ring. When they lock eyes, they begin minor tussle, until they notice shark swimming towards them, causing them to hold each other and scream. K then gets a determined look on her face and punches the shark in the nose, hard, causing it to swim away crying. However, this caused K to get distracted from her true objective, allowing for Theresa to take the ring and swim back towards the surface. Upon realizing what happened, K snaps her fingers in annoyance.
[Solo Confessional: Agent K]
Agent K: While I am annoyed that I made such a silly mistake, I gotta admire someone who takes full advantage of a set of circumstances presented to them in a certain scenario. I'm impressed.
[End Confessional]
Don: As more teams continue to fight for survival, our first-place team say aloha to challenge #1, and aloha to challenge number #2.
We see Genji swim up onshore and meet up with Hanzo, who proceeds to collect a tip from the Don Box.
Hanzo: (reading the tip) It's an All-In. In this Hawaiian Wedding Ritual, teams must walk on-
Don: (cutting off Hanzo and completing the sentence) Fire!
We cut to the Don Box walking on hot coats in his bare feet.
Don: Technically coals. In this challenge, brides wear a grass skirt, and grooms wear a wreath of mahi lei, as they carry their brides across this path of hot coals. It's a test of strength, and honor, and if any part of them catches on fire, grass skirt included, it's back to the start. (makes it to the other side where he lands in front of Hanzo & Genji) Once they reached the ended untoasted, it's a race to the Chill Zone. Last team to arrive, made be cut from the competition.
Hanzo: Wow. You took those burns in stride.
Don: I did this last year. I think I can handle it from here on in. (leaves for the Chill Zone)
Genji: How would you feel if I asked you to be the bride? (Hanzo looks at him, stoically) I'll take that as a yes.
Hanzo: What makes you say that?
Genji: Because I have metal feet that won't get burned. (Hanzo looks at Genji's feet before looking back at Genji)
Hanzo: Good point. (Genji hands him the grass skirt)
Scene switches back to the 1st challenge where we see teams searching through every nook and cranny, turning over every rock and shell, trying to find a ring. Eventually, several team members find a ring and head towards the next challenge. As they do, the bottom teams get more and more worried.
Pharah: Come on, mom. Where are you?
Ronnie Anne: Come on, Bobby. It can't end like this.
Bobby: (resurfacing and coughing up water) Ronnie Anne… I got it! (holds up a ring)
Ronnie Anne: Yes! Nice work, Bobby. Now hurry! We can still make it. (Bobby begins swimming towards the beach. Soon after, Ana surfaces)
Pharah: There you are, mom. I was worried about you. I… Mom? (Ana begins swimming towards a rock, desperately trying to catch her breath) Mom, are you alright?
Ana: Yes… I'm fine… Just… need… to catch… my breath.
Pharah: Mom?
Ana: Sorry. I'm not as young as I once was.
Scene switches to the 2nd challenge where we see Genji successfully walking across the coals with Hanzo on his shoulders without so much as batting and eyelash. Soon, they make it towards the other side and race towards the Chill Zone.
Scene switches to the Chill Zone where we see the Ninjas check in while Don is relaxing on a chair in a shaded area with a fruity drink and his feet in a bucket of ice.
Don: Hanzo & Genji, you've taken first place yet again.
Hanzo: Yes! We are victorious once more.
Genji: Well done, brother. (they proceed to leave the mat)
Don: (turning towards the camera) The race for first has ended, and now the race to avoid last place is on its way.
Scene switches to the start where we see the teams… (minus Ana & Pharah) readying themselves for the upcoming challenge.
Odie: (looking at the grass skirt) Why do I have to be the groom? (Herry looks at him in incredulously, causing Odie to realize the answer to his own question) Right. Because I couldn't lift even if I tried. I'm the brains, you're the brawn.
Herry: Hey, don't feel bad, Odie. That's just life. Sometimes strength just comes naturally. Besides, that big ol' brain of yours is pretty useful.
Odie: Yeah, well, Ingrid seems to think so. (smiles at her as she's putting on her grass skirt) Still, it would be nice to have some strength.
Herry: I don't think Ingrid goes for that kind of stuff. Besides, she's already your girlfriend. What more can you ask for?
Odie: Yeah, I guess you're right. (Herry picks him up and they begin walking across the coals)
Stan: (looking at the skirt) Yeah, no, I don't do skirts.
Ford: I figured you'd say that. Look, there's no point in fighting over it, so I'll wear the skirt.
Stan: Thank you. (puts on the wreath)
Jude: (putting on the skirt while Jonesy helps him out; falsetto voice) Thank you, dude.
Jonesy: Why is it that you always play the girl?
Jude: (normal voice) Delicate bone structure.
Dick Daring: (admiring his wife while she's putting on her grass skirt) You know, for someone who doesn't wear skirts, it suits you very well, K.
Agent K: Thank you. But don't get used to it.
We then see several teams walking across the coals and making their way towards the Chill Zone. During the process, Theresa's skirt, Jude's skirt, and Ford's skirt catch fire, forcing them to go back to the start and try again after extinguishing the flames in the water. And while several teams make it to the end, Archie & Atlanta manage to bypass them thanks to Atlanta's speed. However, she ends up tripping on a rock, allowing for Herry & Odie to pass her and Archie. Though, they quickly get back on their feet and get on the Chill Zone before the other teams.
Don: Herry & Odie take 2nd, Archie & Atlanta take 3rd. Well done.
Atlanta: We could've done better, but finishing in the top 3 isn't too bad, is it Arch?
Archie: Nope. Not bad at all.
Soon, more teams arrive and check in. Scene shows the order in which they arrived.
4th! [Fillmore & Ingrid]
5th! [Jen & Nikki]
6th! [Agent K & Dick Daring]
7th! [Jonny 2x4 & Rolf]
8th! [Cavendish & Dakota]
Jonny 2x4: Right on! (to Plank) What's that? (chuckles) Stop, you'll make me blush.
Cavendish: You know, I almost feel bad for that kid. I fear he's a few screws loose. (notices Dakota admiring the skirt) Um, you can take that off now.
Dakota: Actually, this is kind of working for me. (Cavendish face palms at the sight of Dakota doing a hula dance) What? When in Rome… er, Hawaii.
Don: As more teams check into the Chill Zone, our last place Mother & Daughter are still struggling.
Scene switches to the 1st challenge where we see Ana still hasn't found a ring. Another problem is that she hasn't resurfaced in a little while.
Pharah: Where is she? Mom?! Where are you?! Mom?! (at that moment, Ana resurfaces, gasping for air) Mom?! (tears begin forming on Pharah's face) Mom? (Ana swims towards the shore as quickly as she can while Ana gets down from the dock to meet her) Mom. Are you alright?
Ana: I'm sorry, Fareeha. I can't do it. It's too hard. I'm sorry.
Pharah: Hey, it's okay, mom. It's okay. (hugs her mother as she lets her rest)
Scene switches to the 2nd challenge where we see the Daters, Slackers, Brothers, and Brother & Sister doing the challenge. Midway through the challenge, Ronnie Anne's skirt catches on fire, forcing Bobby to run back to the start and extinguish her flame in the ocean. However, the other teams manage to get to the other side and race towards the Chill Zone.
Scene switches to the Chill Zone where we see the teams arrive, avoiding elimination yet again.
Don: Daters 9th, Slackers 10th, Brothers 11th.
Jude: Sweet. (hugs Jonesy) I'd marry you all over again, bro.
Jonesy: Okay, this has officially hit awkward status.
Don: Speak for yourself. (sighs) I love weddings.
Scene shows Bobby & Ronnie Anne trying their hand at the challenge once more, and managing to succeed. Soon, they arrive at the Chill Zone, surviving yet another day.
Don: Bobby & Ronnie Anne take 12th. Well done. You're here for another week.
Bobby: Phew, that was close.
Ronnie Anne: Yep. Still, feels good to still be here.
Scene switches to the 1st challenge where we see Ana has been attended to by staff members in order to get her to full strength. Soon, Don arrives with a somber expression.
Don: Ana & Pharah. All the teams have checked into the Chill Zone. This means, you're the last team to arrive. And unfortunately, you have been eliminated from the race.
Ana: (sadly sighs) We figured.
Don: You know, you two put up one hell of a fight. You strived for success, but I guess today just wasn't your day. I'm sorry.
Ana: It's alright. At least I had fun with my daughter. And at least I saw Reaper & Widowmaker get exactly what was coming to them.
Pharah: That was satisfying. Come on, mom. Let's go home. (they proceed to leave. Don then proceeds to wipe his eyes, trying to hide his tears)
Don: (under his breathe) Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. (inhales deeply) Don't cry. (normal tone) You know, I'm gonna miss those two. They were a great team. I wonder if there's some sort of curse that causes Mother & Daughter teams to do poorly in Hawaii. Oh well. Prepare to be captivated, because we have something big planned for next week here on, The Ridonculous Race: Cartoon Crossover!
Hey everyone, thanks for reading. Now, I know this chapter was short compared to the previous chapters, and that's because I kind of needed a break from the extremely long chapters I've been dishing out, which have taken some time to write. So, I wanted to make a shorter chapter for this episode. But rest assured, the chapter will be a long one. In fact, it's a chapter I've been waiting to do since the very beginning of this Fic. What is it? You'll just have to wait and find out. Also, sorry for the wait. You see, last week my computer crash and "genius me" forgot to save the data on the drive, so I had to start from scratch. But rest assured, that won't happen anytime soon... I hope. Now, as for Ana & Pharah's elimination, well they didn't have much going forward, so I had to eliminate them. Also, I kind of thought it would be humorous that they'd be eliminated in Hawaii, given the fact that Mother & Daughter teams seem to do poorly in Hawaii. (coughs) Kelly & Taylor. (coughs again) Dr. Wakeman & XJ9 (Jenny). Anyway, the other reason I eliminated them is because I require 12 teams for the next chapter in order for it to work. Can't wait to start working on it.
