Marc woke up in the motel room, he stared at the empty bed that once sat Lena.
"What do we do now?" Steven asked.
"We kill Hathor. But first, we torture her. I want to know why she left Polly alone. I want to know what happened, why I couldn't protect her!" Marc threw a nearby lamp across the room.
"I'm angry too, but vandalizing property won't change anything." Steven told him.
"Khonshu!" Marc yelled "Khonshu!"
The God appeared on Lena's bed. "You rang?"
"Where is Hathor?"
"Hathor's light is already out. I'm sorry, Marc Spector."
Marc tried to size up the God "You're kidding me, right? You're lying!"
"I would never lie to you." Khonshu lied.
"How? How did she die? We have the only two items able to kill Gods!" Steven asked.
"Yeah, good point. Well?"
"Perhaps she was killed by Set. Died before Paulena Peters. Would be a better thought than that poor child being abandoned." Khonshu explained.
"She wasn't abandoned. That's the only solace I take. She wasn't alone." Marc sighed "We should return these to Anubis."
He reached into the closet and took out the Was-sceptre.
"Steven, where's the gun?"
Steven was taken aback "Why would I have touched the gun?"
It was placed upon a table next to a pair of black gloves.
"Found it." Marc said.
Before he left the room to meet Ben, Marc turned to Khonshu.
"Is Hathor really dead?"
He nodded.
"Shame. There's not a lot of Gods left. I wish I knew how she died. If she suffered like Polly did. If she died alongside her. I wish I knew the truth."
"Sometimes the truth is a luxury we can never know." Khonshu told his avatar.
Marc closed the door of the motel room and the lights shut off behind him.
