Thor had been pushed alongside Drax and Rocket, he felt responsible for having dragged them into this, he thought of a way they could take Thanos out, but as much as he hated to admit it, Thanos had an advantage, perhaps his younger self would have made a bold and striking move, however not only his life depended on him, but the people of that place and his new addition of allies.
Chains had been put around his hands and the three of them walked towards a chaos of people, he looked around searching for a vulnerable spot, nothing.

He then had a strange feeling, as if someone whispered into his mind.

Thor

A female voice echoed amongst his thoughts.

We're here, try to blend in.

Although it seemed distant and strange he went along with it, the existence of that voice might have been at jeopardy but since he didn't have a plan it sounded good enough. If he had learned something is that stalling for time usually works for lost causes.

"I suppose we will be the main sacrifice, nothing better to show your strength" Thor began yelling to Thanos "Go on then, let them fear you by showing them Odin's son's head"

Drax and Rocket began complaining but he just grinned, he did hope it would work, it always did for Loki.

Thanos slowly turned to him, his blank expression now showed some disdain.

"To create fear is not my purpose, Thor of Asgard" He began "on the contrary, I seek justice and peace, with a small but reasonable sacrifice"

"And yet here we are, a God and two warriors, go on then, present us first" Thor tried again "let them see your power"

Without another word Thanos ordered them to mix in the crowd, since they were nothing more than soon to be dust, lines of people had been formed and the three of them had been pushed on a far corner, Thor wondered if he had helped or made things worse.

"What now?!" Rocket yelled "you saved us from being killed instantly to being killed some time later... genius"

"I could've killed him" Drax added "now we're too far away"

"Listen" Thor began "I can't explain it but we did the right thing, at least we have more time"

Far over Thanos had begun his speech, Thor began looking over, they could try running for the alleyways but the soldiers rounded them.

A huge explosion was heard, a building fell next to Thanos, he wasn't hit but the closeness alerted him enough to pause the reaping. Thor began looking around, this was their chance.

"You" one of Thanos children pointed to them and hissed "come with me"

The whole commotion had made people try to escape and few other began firing back.

Just as Thor was about to strike him, the alien put a hand on his arm.

"Let's get help, shall we?" It hissed

Thor had to blink a couple of times but followed him and instructed Drax and Rocket to hold back.
The commotion had begun to calm down as the alien lead them away, the commotion began changing, what was pure chaos now turned to screams, the alien didn't look back and neither did them, finally it lead them outside the collector's den.

He pointed his spear to them and cut their chains.
A golden ring appeared in front of them and Stephen Strange put a finger to his lips and pointed towards it, Rocket and Drax didn't ask any questions and jumped in.

Just as Thor was about to ask the alien his true self they heard Thanos voice asking for Maw, which they guessed was the aliens name.
The alien smiled to Thor and pushed him inside the ring.
He reappeared inside what he recognized as Stephen Strange's sanctuary, a few moments later Tony Stark, and Stephen Strange joined them,the golden ring closed.

"Loki!" Thor yelled "that was Loki, where is he?!"

Stephen took a deep breath "We were on a mission to rescue you, I told everyone that if the time stone was in danger I would leave no matter what, Thanos had found us, we could not stay"

"Where's the little witch?" Tony added "where's Maximoff?"

"She would not leave him" Stephen added

"Go back" Thor exclaimed "open back the portal"

"No" Stephen finished.

Loki felt relief as he pushed Thor inside, his idiot brother would live, he'd have to improvise now. Stephen pulled in Tony Stark and signaled Wanda to join, Loki looked at her and bowed his head thanking her for the help.

She bit her lip and shook her head to Stephen, Thanos footsteps grew closer and the Sorcerer didn't ask twice, the portal closed.

Loki looked at her, she was an idiot. She looked shocked as well but ran and crouched between some garbage bins.

Pretend to be wounded she said telepathically

Loki appeared a dagger in his side and limped. Of course he would have.

"Father!" He called for Thanos

The tall alien finally appeared by him, he seemed ready to kill, upset.
"Where is the God?" He asked ignoring the limp and dagger.

"He took off" Loki explained "he must be around, let me look for him, I have failed you once, not again"

Thanos looked around not convinced, somehow his sight had glued to the bin where Maximoff was.

Loki remembered Thanos had the mind stone in his power, perhaps it would've been a bigger threat for people without his and Wanda's abilities.

Thanos walked to the bin, he pushed it aside and Loki could do no more than to wait for the alien to pull back Wanda's head.

And so when he pushed it aside Wanda was there, crouching down with red eyes and red energy flowing through her hands, she looked directly into Thanos eyes.

Loki almost gasped, Thanos stared back at her but did nothing, he blinked a couple of times and looked back at Loki.

"The God, look for him" he ordered.

Wanda had stood up and walked to the opposite alley, her concentration and energy remaining the same, as she disappeared into it. Thanos put a hand to his forehead and pointed the stone to where Wanda was, he scanned it and destroyed it. Nothing.

"I'll find him" Loki promised again "thank you Father"

Thanos looked back at him for a few seconds before dismissing him, Loki walked into Wanda's alley and pulled her hand leading her out of the way in case Thanos changed his mind.

They entered a random building and locked themselves in a room, it looked like some sort of shop, metallic floors and walls as well as alien merchandise, half of it laying on the floor, people had been forced outside their homes and businesses leaving them intact.

Wanda closed her eyes and rubbed her temples, she buried her face behind her legs and hugged them.

Loki turned back into his form and sat down on the floor tired and in shock.

"You tricked him" he muttered to her "created an illusion of some sort, while he carried the reality stone"

She looked back up at him

"How did you do that?" He asked

Wanda frowned at him "We almost died and you're asking me that?"

He laughed despite himself "I suppose we should discuss how to leave this stranded and forsaken planet"

Wanda stood up "I suppose he's going to Earth now, to get the other two, do you still have yours?"

He reappeared the Tesseract in his hand "Yes, and I do not plan to return to Earth"

"You gave your word Loki" she exclaimed

He smirked "As long as I am concerned Stephen Strange left me to fend for myself, ourselves since you decided to join the narrative, I'm not sure why but I must say I'm impressed and grateful. He must think we are dead, I doubt he'll mind if I keep hiding the space stone far away from Earth"

"I need to go back" she exclaimed

"Why did you not leave then?" He questioned "you literally had the opportunity at hand"

"He was going to find you and kill you" she explained flustered

"I had a plan" he exclaimed "I do not need your help, I do not owe you anything and neither do you"

"I vouched for you" she said a bit louder without being too loud "I need to make sure you keep the stone safe, that you destroy it"

"You have no idea of how powerful it is, it can be used against Thanos, we could-"

"No" she cut him off "we need to destroy it, he needs them all. Strange won't give his and the other is unknown, the one you have is the only dispensable one"

"The Humanoid" Loki finally said understanding "you want to protect him"

She gave him a murderous glance and corrected him "I will protect him"

He stared back at her for a few moments before finally letting out a low chuckle "A strange choice for love and affection, but respectable"

"Oh I'm sorry, I don't remember asking you for your opinion" Wanda snapped back

He laughed "My apologies Miss Maximoff"

She rolled her eyes and sat back down "We need to go back"

He didn't say anything at first, only seemed to study her, just as he was about to say something they heard people at the distance followed by a ship's launch.

They shared a quick glance before someone opened the door, perhaps the woman was too tired or upset, she didn't mind two strangers inside her property, she just entered and fell to the ground.

Wanda shot him a worried look, he shook his head, and the two left the place.
People around seemed lost, defeated, there were some cries and others just wandered around.

Without saying anything, Loki gently pulled her arm and they went into an alley, he reappeared the Tesseract and sighed.

"I knew I could trust you" she joked

He fake smiled and grabbed her shoulder.
