Wanda rang Vision before she left with Loki, he was relieved she was okay, and hearing his voice was enough for her to feel safe.

"Do you trust Loki?" He asked her after learning their plan

She took a few seconds to respond "I was given a second choice, survival makes everyone turn to the easiest dark path, besides I feel like I can protect the stone, as much as I'll try to give him a second chance, I want to make sure the stone is safe until it's destroyed, until you're safe"

"Wanda" his tone had changed "I want to apologize to you if things don't go as planned, I know all the plans we have made, but please-"

"I love you" she interrupted him "Goodbye"

"I love you" he finished as well.

She hanged the phone and went to Loki.

"No, I will not be taking a child" he began protesting.

Wanda saw a teenage boy between him and Stark, he looked uncomfortable.

"What is going on?" She asked them

"Peter is the only person Stark trusts with his technology, and since you two will be wondering alone with a stone, we need full communication" Steve explained

"Umm hi" the teenage began "my name is Peter, and I offered myself, I know I might not be wanted but I know I can help"

"Hey" she greeted him "we are putting our lives at risk Peter"

"I can assure you I can defend myself" he added "i have special abilities as well, I promise I won't stand in your way"

He will drag us down Loki spoke in her mind

He also might help us to stay alert

"You can come" she agreed

The boy smiled and began getting instructions from Stark despite his disagreement on him joining.

Loki walked to her "When did you name yourself the leader of the team?"

Wanda turned to him perfectly calm "I might trust you, but I can't trust your reputation, I need to make sure I can contact the team in case you decide to run, it won't happen of course, so let's consider Peter as an assistant, alright?"

Loki pulled the stone from his hiding spot
"Arachnid child, we're leaving"

Peter had to blink a couple of times before understanding Loki meant him and running to them, he carried a backpack.

Loki extended his arm, Wanda placed her hand on top of his and Peter followed quickly, the three of them teleported into a desertic looking place.

A few buildings stood close to them, they seemed abandoned despite the futuristic technology, the air had a grayish tone.

"Where are we?" Peter asked

Loki ignored him completely and immediately hid the stone.

"What is this place?" Wanda asked him again

"A reaped planet" he answered "I wouldn't expect him to look for us here, there might be some people but from what I can see I'd say they weren't so lucky"

Peter's stomach began to grumble, they both looked at him.

"I'm sorry" he apologized

Loki gave Wanda a look and began walking to the nearest building.

Wanda gave Peter a reassuring nod and they began following him.

"He's not so bad" Wanda promised Peter

"How long have you known him?" The teen asked her, he was grateful for the interaction.

"Less than a day"

"And you know him?"

"He's really not that difficult to decipher"

"I can hear you!" Loki yelled to them

"See?" She smiled to Peter "Loki called you a name, what did he mean?"

"I was bitten by a spider; I can't explain how or why but it gave me abilities" he told her

Loki chuckled and muttered high enough for them to hear: "Humans"

They arrived in what seemed to be a luxurious apartment building, some windows were broken but aside from that it seemed almost untouched, Loki took appeared a pad and opened the doors, they entered a lobby and closed the doors again, she guessed he activated an alarm sort of system from the pad.

"Should we be alert?" Peter asked her

"No need" Loki finally acknowledge him, he crossed the lobby and opened the concierge's key compartment, grabbed a specific one and closed it again "this place has been inhabited for a long time, I used to come here before Asgard's whole affair happened"

He threw the key to Peter and the boy caught it with ease and speed.

"You might be useful after all" he told him "Second floor to the left"

Peter nodded and ran upstairs, Wanda gave Loki a disapproving look and he ignored it, the two of them calmly walked up the stairs while they could hear Peter opening the door.

A huge suite waited for them, golden decorations of alien looking style filled the room, Peter quickly made the way to the sitting area and took from his backpack technological artifacts and began setting up a working station.

Loki walked to the windows and took a controller; he activated a mirror mechanism so they wouldn't be seen.

Wanda closed the door, and began exploring, she knew Peter was hungry and her stomach also began to feel empty, she reached the kitchen looking part and began opening drawers, she found some covered packages with foreign language and a bottle with purple liquid.

"That's an alcoholic beverage" Loki suddenly walked up to her

"Do they have water?" She asked putting the liquor aside

Loki reached for a cabinet and took out the pad, he clicked a few things, a few noises were made and from the same cabinet a glass bottle emerged, he handed it to her and proceeded to repeat the process for another two bottles.

"What about those packages?" She asked him "are they food or some strange shampoo bottles?"

He arched his eyebrows amused "Nonperishable foods" he explained and inspected them "these must be similar to one of your plant-based meals"

She took two of them and signaled him to sit with Peter, Loki sighed but agreed.

Peter was deeply focused so Wanda put the food close to him and sat down on one of the couches.

She opened her package and stared at a green/brownish square bar, definitely not something that looked desirable to eat.
She quickly glanced at Loki who was laughing.

"You have to bite it" he told her and showed her.

She expected the worst but still tried it, a new flavor expanded inside her mouth, to her surprise the bar had a soft texture and as she chewed it she could notice different tones of flavors, it reminded her of lentils.

"It amazes me how much you trust me" the god of mischief exclaimed "it could've been a hygiene product"

She took another bite "Well I don't have much choice, do I?"

"Oh my God this is great" Peter suddenly spoke, his bar was halfway down "we have to take some of this home"

She smiled and took a few more bites, there was a great chance of not returning home, she pictured her funeral, death wasn't a distant thought, and it happening to her at any moment felt almost normal, a horrible thought invaded her peaceful death, she saw herself returning and seeing Vision lifeless, now that was something that she could not allow.

"How's the installation?" She asked Peter as she put her bar down on the table.

The teen had a mouth full but gave her thumbs up, he awkwardly sped up chewing "It's on, I just sent Mr. Stark an encrypted message, he hasn't responded but I'll be on it"

"Thank you, Peter,"

He smiled again and looked over at her food, she nodded, and he took it.

"Not only has my home planet been destroyed but also the ship I was traveling inside of and apparently my normal life, so if you'll excuse me I will be going to rest" Loki exclaimed and stood up "There is another bedroom, and arachnid child can stay here. Don't leave the room and less so the building, and last but not least, do not disturb me unless Thanos himself knocks on that door"

They watched him walk to the right and open one of the doors at the end of the hallway.

"Spiderman" Peter said under his breath

"What?" She asked him

"That's my alias, Spiderman, not arachnid child" he explained "at least it's clever"

She wanted to laugh but decided against it, Peter seemed really nice and her joining Loki in his jokes was out of place.

"Mr. Stark has answered!" Peter said triumphant "we have established communication"

Wanda smiled "I think I'm going to sleep as well, are you okay with staying here?"

"Yeah of course, I have algebra homework anyway" he assured her.

Wanda chuckled and walked to the hallway where Loki had disappeared into, she opened the door next to his room and found the other bedroom, it was spacious and luxurious, he had probably taken the master bedroom, but this was already more than she had ever been in.

She felt bad for leaving Peter alone, but she was so tired and stressed that sleeping and zoning out seemed like the only healthy choice she could make.
