Wanda locked herself in her room, she hoped Stark would contact them soon, of course she knew Loki was being insufferable just because he could, but everything she did seemed like a test to prove if she was worthy enough to be there or if she had managed to come that far just by accident, she had nothing to prove to him, to anyone.

She lay on the bed and closed her eyes, no more distractions, she was there to do a job, and she would give her life protecting that stone.

Loki on the other hand, left his room and debated wether it was a good idea to knock on Wanda's door or if he should leave the whole affair behind.

"She seemed upset" Peter said from the living room "I wouldn't bother her"

Loki nodded and walked to the kitchen, the boy seemed nervous around him, good, at least someone recognized his authority.

"I'm sorry about your planet" Peter began "I heard Thor mentioning it was destroyed"

Loki reached for the alcoholic beverage and poured himself a drink, he downed the first glass without flinching "Well it's what they got for not wanting me to rule, I would've made their lives much easier"

"Why weren't you King?" Peter asked.

Loki downed a second glass "Two posible options, one would be that they considered me too evil, whatever that means, and the other one was probably that I was not actually Asgardian"

"What do you mean?"

Third one down, nothing mattered anymore "I was adopted, well adopted is a romantic term for saying: taken as a war prisoner in hopes of negotiating peace with Asgard's enemy once I became of age"

Peter stared back horrified "I didn't know that"

"Neither did I" Loki exclaimed with a laugh before taking another drink "all in the past now, Odin is dead and so is the planet that caused me, and many more, so much pain"

"What are you drinking?" Peter asked

"Want to try?"

"Ammm"

Wanda woke up to loud yelling, she quickly reached for her pocket and found the stone safe and sound, she stood up and ran to the living room.

No, Thanos had not decided to invade them, but did she expect to see Peter and Loki dancing in circled with arms intertwined? no she didn't.

Loki was singing in a strange language and Peter yelled back his best impression of those words, they both laughed and crashed into each other.

"What is going on?!" She yelled

Loki stopped right away making Peter fall down.

"Nothing" they said in unison

She looked over at the mess they had made and found the bottle Loki had catalogued as alcoholic beverage.

"Are you drunk?" She asked them

"No" Loki said definitely drunk

"Ohhhh that would explain why he's being so nice" Peter muttered and stood up

"He's like fifteen!" She yelled at Loki

"I don't know how humans work!" He yelled back "besides he barely had a chance to try it, I drank the whole bottle and his drink after he had a sip, I swear on Odin"

"He's dead"

"Ouch" he laughed "on Thor then"

"You literally stabbed him"

"As brother's do!" He exclaimed

"It's true Wanda, I only took a sip" Peter promised

"Then why were you dancing like that?" She asked him

He shrugged "Loki was being nice to me"

The god of mischief put his arm around Peter's shoulder "Pete Park is like the brother I never had, I would give my life for him"

"It's Peter" the boy corrected him

"Shhhhh Pete, I'm speaking with Wanda, I don't want her to have a bad impression of me"

"I think that's too late" she told him

He looked sad, genuinely terrified "But why!? I think you're a great human, and I don't like humans, tell her Pete. I wish we were in different circumstances, I could teach you all the enchantments I know"

She arched her eyebrows and looked over at Peter, the boy nodded.

"Wanda" Loki continued, he walked to her and reached for her hair, she took a step back and he begged "I'm not going to hurt you, let me show you something"

She sighed and nodded, with a smile he reached for the back of her ear and appeared the same flower from his memories, except it was scarlet red, he held it to her face.

"I can create visual illusions" he explained "but you...you brought back her fragrance, how did you do it?"

Wanda relaxed "I don't...I don't know"

"Thank you" he whispered "thank you" he repeated even lower.

She felt bad for him, for the first time since they've met he was being open. He sat down on the couch.

"I haven't been honest with you" Loki began "I tried escaping earlier, and I really do think this whole plan is going to kill all of us"

"But?" Peter added hoping Loki would continue explaining after a long pause.

"But, my dear Pete" he resumed "I am tired of running, and you two have been genuinely accepting of me, so I give you my word that I will stop scheming"

"No" Wanda replied immediately after his sentimental speech had finished "I want an apology"

He sighed and stood up, he stumbled a little bit but managed to stand straight.
"I let my emotions run through my head, I apologize for having talked to you that way"

"And for lying" she added crossing her arms

"Lying?"

"You said the memory illusion was wrong, I know it wasn't, I made sure it was perfect"

He nodded "It was perfect, too perfect, you are right and should always demand respect, I apologize"

She scanned him and he threw his hands in the air surrendering his mind.

No one should underestimate you, and if they do, it's because they are weak.

Loki calling himself weak in his mind was enough for her to forgive him, she wouldn't lie, she truly felt pretty good about herself.

"Very well then" she agreed and extended her hand to him "we will trust each other now"

He nodded and went completely serious, he shook her hand, and they held each other's gaze, he hadn't noticed before how her eyes were green.

Peter's hand awkwardly joined theirs and the three of them silently pulled back from the handshake.

"You're part of the team then" Peter exclaimed happy

Loki made a disgusted face "No avengers, I'd like to be excluded from that narrative, just us three"

"Should we get a name?" Peter said excitedly

"And wear matching outfits too" Loki said sarcastically

"Oh that would be so cool, I could definitely add a patch to my suit so we could sort of match" Peter said completely missing Loki's tone.

The god of mischief rubbed his temples and Wanda just smiled, she liked her team.
