The trio had relaxed around each other after Loki´s promise, they sat in the living room waiting for something to happen, Wanda was deep in thought hoping Vision was okay and Thor was succeeding in forging the correct weapon to destroy the stones, it felt surreal that Vision´s wellbeing depending on such a small thing that she kept on her pocket, it almost felt like a burning sensation, but it was just a simple stone, in no way she wanted to activate it.

Peter was focused on a notebook, with his pencil he seemed to answer homework questions. Meanwhile Loki's alcohol level had downed since he passed out on the couch. The god of Mischief opened his eyes slowly, and for some unknown reason waking up to the sight of Wanda Maximoff didn't alert him even though she was a powerful stranger. He composed himself and noticed Pete Park scribbling down on a notebook.

"What are you doing?" he asked him rather confused.

Peter looked up, he looked tired but enthusiastic "Homework, well extra work, I'm failing a class"

"Aren't you supposed to be outstandingly smart?" He asked the boy

"I'm not failing because of my grades, I am usually absent from school or miss deadlines, it's hard to keep both sides of my life working, but I don't mind" Peter explained.

"What exactly is that you do?"

Peter looked kind of uncomfortable "I kind of have a secret identity, I use it to help people around the city"

Loki tilted his head "Why?"

"Because no one else does" the boy explained "and since I have the ability to help, I try to"

He didn't want to seem insensitive, he understood most of the Avengers had the glorious purpose of being heroic and selfless, but Pete was younger than all of them and he had to admit it was admirable that the boy was putting his life at risk next to the rest of them who were more experienced and had less to lose.

Loki nodded and cleared his throat, he was bored. "Can I see your scribbling?"

Peter nodded and handed it to him.

He was familiar with Midgard's universal language, mathematics, quite a rudimental and strict language to base the explanation and laws of a planet, perhaps that is why humans hadn't been able to expand their horizon.

"They teach you all of this?" he asked him.

"Yeah, is it true? Do you…do you understand it?" Peter was now rather curious

Loki frowned and studied the writing "Yes, I understand the concept, perhaps if I had time to translate this, I could get the hang of it"

"I thought math was universal" Peter spoke

Loki chuckled "In a way it is, the universe shares the same elements, however every species or planet finds a way to interpret these elements and translate them into their own understanding capacity. Humans chose to limit the universe into what you call science."

"What did Asgardians choose?" Wanda suddenly entered the conversation.

He extended his palms and green flowing magic appeared.

"Magic?" Peter responded.

"An overly simplified answer, but yes, let's call it that" Loki agreed.

Peter's set up bleeped and he ran to the computer, Wanda and Loki rushed to it as well and they stared at the white screen, letter by letter a message appeared.

Thor has begun; we're waiting for him.

Stay hidden and moving no matter what.

"What about Thanos?" Loki asked

"Ask them about Vision" Wanda pressured Peter

Peter quickly typed: Thanos? Vision?

Steve sighed as Tony read out loud Peter's message, the rest of the avengers staying in the Sanctuary had suited up they had alerted the New York population to evacuate since Stephen had the stone there, meanwhile T'Challa and Wakanda were on high alert as they prepared the extraction of Vision's mind stone.

"We should tell Wanda about Vision" Steve spoke

"You saw what Vision wrote" Natasha reminded him "We need her to protect the space stone"

"And if something happens to him?"

"This is bigger than any of our lives" Stephen jumped in "she'll understand"

Tony looked over at Steve, he nodded, and the billionaire typed: Vision is safe. STAY HIDDEN UNTIL THOR FINDS YOU AND DESTROYS THE STONE.

Stark was a terrible liar, Loki glanced at Wanda, she was frowning and not believing any of that.

"Wanda" he called her, she looked hurt, mad, hopeless, and yet ready to take on the world herself "we need to listen to them"

She looked back at him, her flowing red magic "No"

"What is going on?" Peter asked

She took some steps back without losing sight of the two of them "They're going to kill him, he's the only one I have left"

"Wanda, calm down" Loki repeated calmly.

She reached for the stone on her pocket "I'm sorry"

"Wanda!" Loki yelled now.

In a swift moment she pulled out the stone and closed her eyes, Loki knew what she was going to do, the energy of the stone covered her and without thinking twice Loki jumped and grabbed onto her, they both disappeared.

Peter just stared at where the two of them stood before disappearing, he quickly typed. LOKI AND WANDA LEFT WITH THE STONE.

Perhaps a second before Stark would have been able to read the message, the screen showed the words, but no one was in the room, Thanos had arrived.
