Wanda had not expected to be tackled by Loki, the movement had made him crash into her, they fell on their new destination.
"Stop!" He grabbed her arm before she could stand up
"What are you doing?" she tried to push him off but he resisted
"This was not part of our agreement!' he said back "Thanos will kill us all if he gets the stones, you're making this easier for him"
Wanda stopped resisting and covered her face, Loki sighed and stood up, they had appeared in an empty hallway, in complete silence...
"Wait" he said suddenly whispering
"What?" She uncovered her face and began standing up, he offered his hand, she shot him a murderous glance but took it.
"We're alone" he whispered
She noticed the silence as well, Loki was right, something was off. She had instructed the stone to arrive in Wakanda, this place was completely new to her, everything was white and perfectly polished, but empty.
Wanda searched for any trace of Vision. She took a deep breath and opened her palm, she took Loki's hand and placed the stone in his hand.
"This was not part of the whole plan of defeating Thanos" he told her "the only thing that made me come back was believing you and your ludicrous plan, and now that trust is completely gone"
"I'm sorry okay?" She told him "I can't just let him die"
"That is not your choice to make" he whispered back
She blinked a couple of times "Go back to Peter, I know you're capable of doing what I couldn't"
"Destroying the stone?" He laughed
"No, doing the right thing" almost instinctly she reached for his face "I trust you Loki, I've seen your mind, I know you've changed, I believe in you"
Perhaps for the first time in a really long time he felt... vulnerable. He'd always been expected to be the unreliable one, and to have a person he had just met tell him that she trusted him...it woke something inside of him, without thinking too much about it he whispered:
"Then stay..."
Wanda tilted her head, something in his tone had changed, something in his eyes...she noticed her hands were still on his face, she let him go and looked down "I'm sorry, but he's all I've got"
Slowly she took some steps back and ran in Vision's direction.
"Wanda!" Loki yelled behind her, he grunted and went back to Peter.
The teenager still sat in shock, he sighed and just hoped he would get a chance to return to Earth.
Loki appeared, frustration on his face.
"Loki!" Peter said relieved "wait where's Wanda?"
He had the stone back, that was the only reason he had followed her for, he owed nothing to Wanda, she did help him in Knowhere, but it was her who chose to risk her life to help him, which had been completely unnecessary and stupid, and yet he felt uneasy knowing she could die.
Wanda ran through the halls following Vision's mind until she found a closed door, she opened it.
"Wanda?" Vision asked rather confused, he lay on a lab bed, a helmet looking thing on top of his head, a girl next to him with a pad seemed to control it.
"Let's go" she told him and pointed at the girl "don't touch him"
"I asked for this" Vision yelled from the table, he stood up, wires glued to his head "Wanda, we can't do anything about it, Shuri here will remove the stone"
"We can run" she told him "I can hide you somewhere"
"You already put everyone's life in danger by coming to Wakanda, people will die in vain" Shuri spoke.
"Let me speak to her" Vision asked Shuri, he took off the wires and left the room with Wanda "we got notice of Thanos's children, two arrived in New York and other two here, both situations under control, but he's coming"
"Then I will stay with you" she told him, tears in her eyes.
"No" he simply said "I might exist thanks to the stone, but you gave me the privilege of living, and I will not have you be here risking your life, nor do I want you to see me...not being me"
She hid her tears with a hug "I gave Loki the stone"
"Wanda..." Vision kissed her head
A sharp knife cut through the air, it traveled at great speed and it was targeted at Vision's head, Loki jumped and caught it before it landed.
The god of Mischief fixed his hair
"You're welcome"
A child of Thanos ran at great speed towards them, Loki pulled out his daggers and jumped above him, the alien caught him and sent him flying, in a swift move Wanda shot him red energy, he stumbled a bit and she made him get on his knees, webs covered him like a cape he couldn't scape, Loki ran and stabbed him, a dagger in each side.
The Child of Thanos screamed in pain, and Vision shot him directly with the stone.
"You came back" Wanda said out loud
"Pete was worried, you promised him matching outfits" Loki joked
Peter took a deep breath "We wanted to make sure you were okay"
Wanda nodded and looked back at Vision.
Come with us she pleaded.
Vision shook his head and walked to her, he whispered in her ear:
"You have done so much for me Wanda, let me do this for you"
She hugged him with all her strength and he held her.
Loki and Peter turned around to give them some privacy.
Vision wiped her tears and smiled "Shuri is trying to capture the the essence of the stone, if we're lucky we'll see each other after all of this is over"
"You promise?"
He kissed her forehead.
They smiled to each other and Vision went back to the lab room. Wanda took a deep breath and fixed herself, she walked to Peter and Loki and cleared her throat, the boys turned to her.
"No more escaping" she promised and extended her hand.
Peter beat Loki and took her hand, Loki sighed and joined their handshake.
Down the hall they could hear people coming their way, probably chasing down the child of Thanos that had gotten to the lab, the trio left.
