Peter typed down the message and sighed, he truly hoped Wanda was okay. Earth was in full alert now, they knew Thanos could arrive in any second since he thought they still had the stone in their hands, they would use that diversion to face him and fight while the other two stones were safe and sound far from them.

Mr Stark had told him to go back to New York, he would definitely not do that, instead he called aunt May and without explaining himself he just told her to keep safe and alert, Tony was not particularly happy to see him suited up and ready to fight alongside the Avengers risking his life, but he respected his decision and instructed him to stay as close as possible.

Stephen had returned to Earth, they had all been quite confused since he was the one who wouldn't risk the Time Stone, he only told them to accept the situation, to be honest Peter didn't receive a lot of information but he heard a thing or two about the Team not being sure of what was the plan, Peter remembered Wanda's words and somehow felt less pressure, no one really knew what they were doing, still he hoped everything would turn up alright in the end.

They had move to a new safe location, Loki had explained they were on a far corner from the Galaxy, there were a few people but everyone seemed to mind their own business, the place was mixture of old stone buildings and acres of crops, there were aliens as well as human looking people, and archaic technology.

Just for precaution Loki disguised himself with a beard and both of them wore clothing that covered most of their faces, the two of them walked to an Inn that looked like an old yarn, and asked for a room, she let him do all the talking. The woman lead them to the second floor, a simple bedroom with two beds and a small window placed just below the roof, it was almost completely dark but functional.

She prepared the set up once they were both alone and sent notice of their change of location.

"We'll move tomorrow" he told her, they normally had stayed about three or two days in each new location

"Too crowded" she agreed "at least we'll be able to tell if something is wrong"

He nodded "That could be an advantage"

"We'll see how people react to us when we go to find some food" she told him "do we have money?"

He appeared a medium fabric bag and threw it to her, she catched it effortlessly and opened it, a bunch of silver and gold coins, she inspected them rather curious, they had small signs written on them.

"They usually work everywhere" he explained "and if not we can always improvise with magic"

"Or we could ask them" she offered a solution

"You're no fun" he joked

Wanda gave him a small smile before looking down and closing the money bag. She looked at the set up and saw a confirmation reply.

"Let's go" she said to Loki "don't forget your beard"

He reached for his face.

"Made you look" she smirked and opened the door.

The two walked down the Inn, so far no one seemed to glance at them, everyone on that small village seemed to be passing by, each one of them to busy in their own schedule. They arrived to the square town and walked through the different shops, the Inn always in their sight.

There was a fountain on the middle of the square, a few children played around it, splash of water and laughter filled the gray zone making it rather charming.

"Try this" Loki called her keeping her from zoning out, he drew near her mouth a small spoon with some yellow thing that looked like ice cream, without thinking too much she opened her mouth.

It was actually a salty food, something close to a chicken broth.

"Oh my God" she let out impressed.

He smiled triumphantly and pulled her hand inside one of the restaurants.
Wanda didn't say anything, but knew Loki was taking care of her, she appreciated, her mental health had never been a priority, she had always learned to keep on moving, maybe that way the past would disappear behind her.

Once they finished eating one of the waitresses came to the table and gave Loki a courtesy drink, the girl was clearly flirting with him and he returned the gesture, ever so the charming gentleman.
Wanda was pretty amused, spending time with him was never boring.

Out of politeness he offered her to try the ale, on other circumstances she wouldn't, they were supposed to be alert, but the peace of that place and her disassociating herself were just perfect, she accepted the offer and drank several gulps of the ale before giving it back to him.

"Are you sure you don't want more?" He asked

She wiped her mouth "I'm not sure if it's bad or completely horrible"

He took a sip "I've had worse"

"Can't imagine what that was like" she was horrified

"I made Thor sneak inside the guards chambers and steal liquor, let me tell you I had never tasted something stronger than whatever it was they were drinking"

Wanda laughed "Why did Thor agree to that?"

"He had lost a game if I remember correctly, or perhaps I had... either way he chose to listen to me"

"You really were a bad influence, didn't you?" She took a few more sips of the ale

Loki grinned "The worst"

They payed their meals and left the restaurant, the sweet waitress shot Wanda a murderous glance, at first she got nervous thinking the girl had somehow recognized them, she went inside her mind and found something completely different.

Wanda let out a laugh.

"What?" He asked

"That waitress was upset you didn't pay her attention, and gave me your drink"

"Well it was not very clever of her to try to approach someone with company" He told her

"And that happens a lot?" she asked

He chuckled "It has happened"

She laughed, her head was beginning to feel lighter, she was a little tipsy.
They went back inside the Inn, and up to their room, there were no new messages, Loki got rid of the beard, and Wanda took of the cape she had found on the last safe house alongside her shoes, she lay down on her bed and minutes later Loki lay on his, both of them stared at the ceiling.

"Thank you" Wanda said after a while.

Loki turned his head to her, her eyes were still glued to the ceiling.
"What do you mean?"

"Thank you" she repeated without explaining herself, and turned to the other side to sleep.
