Prime grinned. "I do not want to give false hope to those who wish we were not here. It was your actions that brought us and initiated first contact between your people and mine. You had Megatron, held for almost eighty years, as well as the Allspark. You had no idea of the incredible danger you were in. If he had gotten loose and retrieved control of the relic, I shudder to think what would have happened.
"We came here to rescue you, then stayed to defend you against not just Megatron but his patron, the one we call The Fallen," Optimus said. "It was taken out of their hands, this contact and it has been immensely beneficial to you, though those who wish us gone will never see that as true."
:There's no repercussions about you being here?:
"No," Optimus said. "We came to retrieve Megatron and our relic, then stayed because the Decepticon threat was immediate and sustained. There was really no hope they would ever leave when they found out how much energon could be had here with very little effort. It is our lifeblood, energon, and they would never give up until they controlled every inch of this solar system and beyond. This group sees us as guardians and are aware of our efforts to protect you and assist with your planetary problems in a non-exploitative manner. It prevents conflict involving them to protect you that we are here doing this. We are also not signatory to their treaties and agreements, though we find much that is amenable to further negotiation. We want to be good neighbors to everyone here."
:You mentioned The Fallen. I realize that He's partially taboo and that to talk about Him would be pushing the envelope. But I would really like a good understanding of who this mech was and why He was such an influence toward negativity. He's rather the patron saint of the Decepticons. Prime grinned slightly, then quieted himself. He felt a soft touch against his helm, an energetic nudge in the lower right corner of his head. He recognized the energetic signature of Prima and listened. A voice speaking a language as old as the universe whispered a moment, then he looked at her. "You are speaking of a God, Leonora Huttle-Bradford, one of The Pantheon."
She stared at him, then sat up straighter. :Say again?:

"Well, he's going there," Sun said with a chuckle. "This is going to be interesting."
"The Fallen is a fragger," Smokey said with a frown. "I wish I was there when Prime took him out. HE TORE OFF HIS FACE!"
Everyone grinned at The Kid™.
"I do believe there's more to the story of Prime and The Fallen than meets the optic," Jack said as he winked at Auntie Lissie.
She grinned, then nodded. "Much, much more. Listen up, infants. If he tells the whole tale, it'll be for the first time since The Beginning."
The kids glanced at her, then the other elders. They looked like a row of Buddhas and exuded the same miraculous wisdom and inscrutability. Everyone perked up immediately.

"I was there when Prime ripped his face off. We were doomed until Optimus did it," Will said. "That fucker was the apocalypse."
Niall nodded. "He was so huge. I can't get over how big he was. He seemed invincible."
The civilians with them stared at them, then the screen.

"The Fallen," Cam said. "Where the hell do they get their names?"
"Listen and he'll tell you," Rick said as he stared at the screen.

"The Fallen was one of the original Thirteen Primes, created in the Beginning of Things when the universe was young. He was the darkest one, enmeshing Himself in dark matters. His transformation to His present state relieved Him of aspects that He held no value for, such as empathy and and ethics. He is pure hate. He was skilled with making and unmaking things. All darkness and dark arts interested Him. He could travel through dimensions at will and He was implacable in His will to control all things. He was very powerful and turned on the other Primes, His brothers and sister, working to turn Them against each Other. There was massive conflict, some died and He was made a prisoner against ever coming among The People again. He cannot ever be trusted. He is dangerous. He was freed through treachery by Megatron during the period in Egypt and if we had not taken Him down it would have meant the end of this world."
:How so?: Leonora asked. :I'm aware of the story about harvesting our star. I don't know what's Hollywood storytelling and the truth:
Prime nodded. "There was license in the stories told but He was determined to destroy this star. It was a desperate struggle to prevent it, which we did. He is enormously dangerous but He is contained once again. I am not much inclined to tell you more about that because He is shameful and banished from our record. Just understand that there are Powers in this universe that are aware of His malevolence and have Him under control."
:But He was killed in Egypt. Right?: Leonora asked.
Prime grinned. "No one ever dies. All of us are immortal beings of spiritual substance having a life in a material existence. Megatronus who we call The Fallen because He was and is disgraced amongst us can no more die than you and I can. We all transform, all of us, Leonora, when we pass from the life we live now. He is contained by very powerful forces. Do not worry about Him. He will do no more harm to anyone anymore."
:He harmed the other Primes, His siblings. What happened to Them, these other Primes?:
"They live. They exist as multiversal singularities, moving between dimensions as They contribute Their part to the well being of the universe. They keep a special watch over Cybertron and our people which by virtue of us includes you and your well being. It comforts me to know that our far flung people are ever in the sights of The Powers."
:Tell me about Them if you can, Optimus. I am so honored that you're telling me about Them. They're revered among The People and I find Them fascinating myself. You also have a special connection to Them through the Matrix. That relic connects you to Primus and The One. Correct? If you can tell me, that is:
He considered that and felt the same murmur in his mind. "They are The Beginning, perhaps the first group of individuals who ever populated the universe. They were created by Primus, our warrior God to defeat His brother, Unicron of whom Megatronus is mentored. Understand. There is duality in all things because it creates balance. If there is dark, there must be light. If there is up, then down exists. Primus represented balance and calm. Unicron represented chaos and discord. They clashed for eons before it was obvious to Primus that He could not end the destruction of His brother. They were equal in all ways but outlook, primal forces of nature and existence.
"So He created the Primes and with Them contained Unicron so that the universe would be able to proceed with creation and expansion. Primus trapped Him in a planet while doing so Himself. He had to so that He could go into a deep stasis sleep. As long as He was detectable to Unicron, then war would never end and there would be even more destruction than before. It was through the eons that Primus remade His world into Cybertron. Cybertron is not naturally a metallic planet, though they exist in rare cases. Cybertron is the reformatted body of Primus."
:I've been to Cybertron and its a strange sensation to walk around on the surface of a sentient being:

As for speaking with Them, the Matrix is the interface through which I communicate with Primus, the other Primes and The One. It is through the Matrix that I can access the accumulated wisdom of every Cybertronian that ever lived including The Powers and The One."
:I know that this is strange and Earth may have a time processing this. But The One is The Creative Force of All Things, correct? The one we call God?:
Prime nodded. "There are many names for this Being. Some species call this Being God. Some call this Being Prime Source, The Source, The One … you have many names for this on Earth. We have a unique history in that we have direct contact with this side of the universe, the spiritual side if you will. We see and hear our infinite Beings and most of us have some sort of feeling and understanding about it.
"We have many different ideas and processes about it but we know that this energetic source, if you will, exists. During the Festival, all of Them bless us, something that we share with great happiness with you. You can call it what you want and imagine it anyway you want but its all the same thing, the same source, the same infinite love. There are few words I know that can tell you of the comfort it has given me over the course of my life. I am never alone, though it sometimes felt like it. We are never alone, Leonora. No matter how we see or feel it, the connection to the divine is never severed. It it was, we would not exist. To exist is to be part of the Divine and without that connection there is no existence."
:The Primes … are They all aspects of some part of Primus or The One?:
Prime considered that. "I suppose you could say so. Some of them are integral to the running of the universe. Vector Prime has aspects of time and space to manage. All of Them serve some function that helps things to happen. They are led by Prima. They are called Micronus, the first mini-con, Solus, the first creator of tangible things, A-3 who is the chronicler, Alchemist who manages elemental structures and can see farther than anyone else … Nexus was the first combiner. Onyx is a spiritual being who can see anyone, anywhere in any time and place, past, present and future because that is how time exists, all of it happening all at the same time.
"Amalgamous Prime was the first transformer. Quintus was a scientist, the first one. Quintus Prime can create life. Liege Maximo was incredibly toxic and separated early on. He has disdain for everyone and everything including us.
"You are aware of Megatronus. He ended up where He belongs. The last of Them was Thirteen. He had no name other than that. It is said that He shares the same spark as Primus and because He does helped put Unicron into status back when the universe began. All of them are holy to us with notable exceptions and all of them are storied and fabled. We possess many of Their devices and possessions, some of which require a Prime to handle because they are that dangerous to others or are too heavy for anyone but a Prime to pick up. The Matrix gives me some special properties that allows that to happen."
:I've seen some of those items including the Star Saber of Primus that's yours to use. Solus Prime's forge as well. Its said with it you can take any metal, focus your intention, hammer it and the thing will appear:
Prime grinned, then nodded. "And only a Prime can wield it. The relics are brought out during Festival to show our people. We want them to understand that they are from a great civilization, an ancient one. We want them to remember who we are and that there is good in our species, that they create wonderful things. We also want them to understand that our history and beliefs are not just words on a page but a living knowable thing."

Prime shook his helm. "No. I have seen all of them through the Matrix and other experiences. There are even more Primes through the Functionalist practice of the Guiding Hand. One of those associated with the legends is Dai Atlas."
:I've met him. He's pretty cagey about talking about this. What do you think? Is he an original Prime or what?: Leonora asked with a smirk.
Prime considered her, then grinned. "I would not be surprised."
Leonora Huttle Bradford would never know how close she was sitting to an original Prime herself. But then, Thirteen was always the most modest and the acknowledged best among Them by Them.

There is a very complicated event called the Shrouding in which Vector Prime undid a bunch of slag that Megatronus did that ended the Primes as multiversal singularities. I'm not really going to get into that because I like them being in all places all the time. Because of this event, it saved the dimensional boundaries to some degree which were falling apart with dead universe stuff (Its part of the Shattered Glass story line) and stole one of their more interesting features to do it. Frag Megatronus Prime. It was done to straighten out the bios and such of a number of the Primes as well and frankly, you need a slide rule to work with it.

The other Primes are Logos, Alchemist, Autonomous Maximus, Solomus (the patron of Prowl's family) and Epistemus Prime. Toss in Dai Atlas with the Guiding hand and you have most of them, if not all of them.
