A/N: Hi there, welcome. Just wanted to come in and thank you for coming to read this fic - the first Gwain Saga fanfic in - and to just tell you that: yes, this is the first chapter, but I feel that it has enough differences to be able to read it as a whole. Besides, it's only when Geo encounters Ami that's similar, even with a few more changes (more info on why there's so many changes down below).

And a small tidbit: if you don't know much about Gwain Saga or have never read it, no worries! I've tried my best - and will continue to try my best - to try and describe everything as if the reader hasn't got a single clue on what Gwain Saga is, or what the characters look like. Keyword on "try."

I uploaded two chapters in one go so people will get a proper feel for the story and how it changes. Now,

Have fun reading Combined Struggle.

In lands uncharted by no one - where just inhaling its very air could permanently damage someone - there lay a certain swordsman with his friends, planning on slaying the beast that aims to corrupt all of the world with its vile breath, and bring chaos to all life. Yes, that's right... before them, was a dragon.

It screeched. The dragon, a beast many times the size of a person towering over them like a mountain would, engulfed the skies in an after shower of its fire and smoke. So unbelievably hot that you could hear the very air crackle under the heat. Even then, the heroes stood strong, chin up and eyes with a fiery determination that could rival even that of the dragon.

The young man in the middle - not even in his 20's and already a prodigy, commanded with so much respect throughout the entirety of the world due to his good deeds - raised his sword towards the dragon, pointing it towards it in a clear show of defiance. Through his shiny white enchanted helmet's visor made from the world's purest ores, you could see his clear dark eyes.

"Foul beast! You dare not only threaten my kingdom, but my very world? And dare you think it is JUST to claim it as yours? Death follows you with every step, innocents die simply by you looking at them, and so many families grieving! All because of your greed!" The hero, the famous Geo, slashed his sword down, leaving an arc of wind that could slice most evil.

With that signal, the rest of his friends started to gear up. All of them had magic, something he had and never would have, but even at the start he had his determination. And with training? He could easily be called above all of them in raw strength.

Looking back, he could feel his eyes tear up at the memories. This is it, this would be the end, what they were all aiming for and what they've all been dreaming to do as "legendary heroes." Funny how things turn out.

One of them placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, and it really didn't matter who it was considering Geo trusted each and every single one of them with his life.

The legendary heroes picked up their weapons, and so did Geo. Before, every movement was filled with passion - the hero giving a voice to all those who met its end thanks to this dragon and its legion; but now, every movement was made with a clear intent to kill.

Even from his stance you could feel his raw power...

A second passed, just a measly little second felt like an eternity to all of them, but it was the silence of the immediate storm. When the dragon roared, everyone charged in. Geo at the front with his friends, and the ranged and supports at the back!

'This is it, what I've been waiting for!' he thought, as the dragon raised its mighty jaw, charging for an attack!

When the boss lowered its head, it made the most agonising sound he's ever heard. Ringing at high pitches that seemed to make everything around them crumble just from the vibrations alone. Geo was no exception as he fell to the cold hard floor of his bedroom as he slipped and fell from his bed.

Above him wasn't the mighty dragon, nor was he looking at some other corrupt part of the landscape, no. Above Geo was his bedroom's ceiling, and looking up even further he met eyes with the alarm clock on the bed table.

He squinted his bleary eyes as he realised...

That he'd been dreaming.

A sigh came out of his mouth as he rubbed his tired face. What he wouldn't give to go back to bed to finish the dream, but with the alarm still going off, he didn't feel like he could.

He got on his knees, and looked straight at the mighty dragon alarm clock. In reality, it was just a wide box with a screen that was flashing red text that read "09:00", there were buttons on the side for its control, and a big snooze button ontop. Gently putting his finger to the side of the machine, he turned it off, even though he wanted so badly to just throw it at the wall.

That's one problem solved. Now, for the rest.

The routine to getting up was something he was used to, even if waking up early wasn't.

Still, he got himself looking nice and ready for the day! Or, well, not. But at least he's passable. Again, Geo took a look at the bathroom mirror.

Wrinkly clothes with a smudge that just wont go away (he's tried everything except actually washing it); unkempt dark hair which in his honest opinion, looks better now than when he used to style it. Too many jagged points, and his hair got oily fast when he was constantly fixing it with his hair.

'So, not nice and ready, but passable.'

He sighed as he opened up the door of his house. He had a feeling today was gonna be a long day.

It was close to the end of the day, and he was already done with college.

Not that "already done" meant he got off early, or that the day today was easy, no. 8 hours overall, and it was now 5 PM. "Already done" just meant it was done.

"I should be getting payed for this, not the other way around," he grumbled, no real heart behind it. Geo knew that this was necessary, and he already came to terms with it when he was in school, much less now that he was an adult and in college.

Staring out the train window, he rubbed his sore neck with his free hand. 'I don't even do exercise, my body has no right to be hurting this bad. I guess not doing exercise isn't excuse enough to not have a sore body...'

Few more minutes passed by, and the train doors opened up again, this time to his stop. The place around him was about as crowded as you'd expect, with people coming in and out from the train doors.

From behind him, Geo could hear the train start up and leave as he took a small second to take a breather and choose what he wanted to do. He could go to his humble abode and just stay there until he inevitably has to go to sleep - maybe get on his computer and just play that MMORPG he's been so into lately; or he could go take a little walk around his village, see if there's any place to go.

It has been a hot minute since he's drawn anything in his book. He decided to wander around, maybe find his secret hideout.

It wasn't long before he found his tree out in the outskirts of his town. It wasn't literally his tree, but it was a place he often went when he was little-er.

Taking a seat down, he looked at the city in the distance, the city he's studying in now. Seemed faraway at the time, but not really as much now, which is something that made him chuckle.

He set his bag down and rummaged through it, his hand finding the familiar feel of his notebook. A shame he can't use it as much as his younger self did, but that's the price you pay when you decide to major in business.

There was a small sad part inside him that ached a little when he reminded himself that he wasn't going down the art route he wanted, but he shook it easily enough. He could still draw, he could draw even now, there's no reason why he can't. This choice was better for him, he knew it.

Even if he had no passion in this business thing.

Taking a quick breath out, Geo took a pencil out, and let his mind run free.

It's pointless to think of what he could and couldn't do, since what he really wanted to do was... well, go to another world. One with magic, with weapons, with dragons, with fighting, and with cuties. Really, the average things anyone would want.

Of course he couldn't do that, but a man could dream. He thought back to his literal dream of this morning, and he started sketching parts of that.

There was no way in hell he was gonna draw a dragon, not with just a pencil and eraser, so he went with something a little simpler. First, the basics: elemental powers.

Fire was always cool, and the first thing that came to his mind when he thought of elemental powers. Raising up a fist and having flames engulf it always seemed like the coolest move someone could do when they were mad. He sketched that in, leaving in a small part in his paper a cartoony hand in flames.

What about the opposite? Ice. Ice was even cooler, and there were so many ways to imagine the power and its uses, that he wasn't really sure what to do with it. In the end, he just drew an anonymous figure that coincidentally had the same dishevelled hair as him surfing on a patch of ice he formed, his hand glowing and shooting a ray of ice.

He kept going. Wind, earth, dark, light, water, lighting, etc. All of his sketches were quick things, not really to practice.

He looked down at the arsenal in his hands, and imagined himself with any of them. He placed himself in similar situations to what he first drew the powers in - from happy moments to angsty moments.

'Still... Elements aren't the only powers... I guess telekinesis is also pretty fancy...' he thought, placing his notebook down on his lap and ignoring it for a bit.

'Flying, too... Being up in the air in the same level as the clouds, or just being able to go anywhere... Man, it'd be so much cooler if I could just FLY to my school!'

'Hm... Teleportation, but I've seen way too many sci-fi videos that tried understanding what teleportation really was, so maybe not. Then again, it IS magic, so...' Geo let the thought die off, not really excited for teleportation, even if he knew of its theoretical advantages.

He adjusted, his back hurting from sitting up against the tree for so long. Hell, maybe that could be a super power, just instantly get a super body and not have to worry about these things.

'Well... I'll be happy if I were to even go to another world. But I know the chance of that happening: 0%. Closest I got are my games.'

Geo went back to drawing in a much better and relaxed mood. Since he hadn't really done much to practice yesterday, he looked forward at the city, and decided to just scribble that instead.

A few minutes have passed in quiet silence as he just sketched parts of the city into his notebook, genuinely trying to capture the essence behind the working society. Still, he couldn't stop the quiet mutter that came from his lips.

"Still... Would be cool, I think. To go to another world..."

An idle minute passed where nothing was really happening except for the twist and turns of his arm as he sketched; where all you could get in the silence were just the scribbles of his pencil across the paper. Even though it was still the middle of the day, sunset only arriving a few hours from now, it really did feel like he was all alone in the world...

He scribbled down something that might look like roads from far away, and looked up to take more of the city. That's when he saw a floating white orb infront of him, slowly levitating upwards.

A pure white orb of light, shining, and hovering, before instantly phasing up to the sky with a 'woosh' sound. Then came another one, then another one, and then too many to count.

A look of amazement was shared on his face before he thought to ask what was happening, and before he did he could feel his body become lighter and lighter, as if the orbs were picking him up. Then, a huge flash of white happened from nowhere in particular, which didn't even hurt his eyes, it really only felt like someone was putting a blanket over him.

And then someone pulled that blanket off and decided that a good prank would be to throw him off a helicopter he was never on, resulting in him appearing in midair above a cliff.

His mind's first thought wasn't that he was just teleported, or that he was falling, or even that his notebook went with him but not his bag. No, his first thought was:

'Oh. That's why I feel lighter.'

It was a beautiful day out in the Gwain Mountain Plains, the fruit was ripe, the animals were cheery, and all around her was nothing but peace and quiet. Not usually what she liked, but today was a bonus.

She always did enjoy places like this, her mother was strict to how and where she goes, saying something like "you're the princess of our nation, people might take advantage of that and take you, so that's why you need to be" blah blah blah, like Gwain really thought she didn't know what to do.

'I'm an adult now, I can do what I want!' Ami pouted as she stared down at the fruit in her hand. An astrocot, though not really coming from space, it was just named for that the star shape that's in the bottom of the fruit.

She picked it up and munched on it as she continued walking. The fruit tasted sweet in her mouth.

Ami looked left and right, gazing at the trees and forests. She was sure her friend'd like this place, but she might just like it because Ami was here, she doubted it was for any actual desire to be in a forest.

'Althooough, she'd probably like this place more than Agni would. He'd have to be SO careful to not burn it down!' The princess giggled at her own thoughts.

She happily sighed. Her friends were wonderful, even if she had so few of them. She wanted so desperately to make more, but there were so many things stopping her... But of course being the daughter of the queen made that impossible.

Trudging along for a little while longer, Ami enjoyed a little bit more of the mountain plains, even going around and trying to see if she could try and catch a fox tail (to no avail). After a few minutes of fooling around she starts to think that she's lost. While walking, she took out her map, and tried to see where she was on it.

"So, I'm..." her gentle voice came out as she traced her finger on the map.

'Started here... Went to here... Dipped in here for a bit,' she cringed when her pointer drifted over a pond, remembering the charade she had with an animal. Sweet Gwain, if someone saw her like that, running around naked like a madman... she quickly drifted over to her next area, forgetting the past for a second.

In the distance, you could almost hear the distant sound of something heavy crashing down into rock, but it was so far away that it sounded muted, and Ami was a little too focused on what she was doing.

'Went through the cave, made a big circle...'

Louder now and closer too, the sound of something colliding against something hard could be heard, and then again, faster than before.

'If this path is correct...'

The distant sound of something rolling down was getting closer to her, Ami being completely oblivious.

'Then I should be...' slowly, she traced her fingers.

Leaves could be heard rustling from directly above, and soon after, branches snapping.

With her finger at the map, the index was pointing at some part of the woods, her only landmark here being the two giant pikes next to her, one smaller than the other. 'Here!'

Then, she came face to face with a white-haired man, hearing the loud rustling of vines that was holding his heavy body in place.

And in that moment, their paths crossed, and the girl reacted as mature as possible, befitting her adult title.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Or maybe she decided to uncharacteristically yell at the top of her lungs. That works too.

Geo's ears were ringing so badly, he didn't even realise him trying to cover his ears lead to him breaking the vines and leading to him landing on a nice soft rock. Breaking something in half that - to his belief - wasn't his skull.

If he was in a clearer mindset, he might look up and try to get the pink girl's attention by coughing, or saying something, but a lot happened today and he was having a hard time processing some of it.

First, his friends over at the college decided to prank him by giving him a shaken soda can that almost ruined his passable facade.

Then, when he was on the tree, he erased too hard and ripped part of the paper, making all the drawings on that sheet look like crap.

Afterwards, he was transported high into the air, CRASHED into at least 10 mountains (probably), fell down through a bunch of trees and got hit so many times in the face that he isn't sure how he hasn't lost at least an eye...

And then got yelled at by a weird cosplaying pink-haired catgirl.

'I feel like I'm warranted a few minutes in relaxation, DESPITE the hand constantly poking me.' And lo and behold, the girl was poking him in the head. She was probably trying to see if he was alright, but he couldn't really be bothered. A lot was happening right now.

After a few seconds she stopped, and he relaxed a little more. His body still felt weird and even everything around him felt odd, like there was something more to it. Like the rock he landed on wasn't just rock, but was more than that; same with the grass, trees, the wind that caused a certain someone to gasp in embarrassment.

Geo took a quick breath, inhaling the smells around him. Other than the sweet somewhat alluring smell of the girl, he... had no idea how to describe his surroundings, or at the very least, what's beneath him.

If he had to guess... Nature. It just smelled like nature, but doubled somehow.

'One thing at a time. Right now, standing up.'

Placing a hand down on the ground, he tried getting himself up like he always would, just raising himself up. He didn't expect his muscles to suddenly push him up harder and faster. He rolled over to the side, rolling himself against a tree and going through it like it almost wasn't there. A hole was carved at the base of it, and without any structure, the tree fell over. Right ontop of him.

He put both his arms infront of him, protecting his face like he's seen so many people do. When the tree fell ontop of him, he could feel its weight, but his body didn't cave in under its weight or any of its pressure.

Looking up from the gap between the tree, he saw the girl from before looking down at him with a look that was a mix of worry, and of laughter. Laughter wasn't just because of his blunder though, Geo saw that she had his notebook in her hands, a few pages in, and her eyes drifting from him, to what was on the paper.

'Wait, was she looking at one of my drawings? One of my drawings of me? One of my drawings of me with POWERS?'

Quickly, he raised an arm, but that only served to launch and break part of the tree, and for him to hit himself in the eye. Probably the first thing that actually hurt since his fall, if you don't count said fall. Rubbing his eye, he left his other more functioning eye roam to her, and he could see that she probably jumped a few steps back away from him, and had a worried expression on her face. Not a scared one, a worried one.

He ended up just giving up. Letting his surprisingly uninjured hand - 'don't understand, don't care' - fall to the ground, ignoring the small crater it caused. Geo just looked up at her, examining her instinctively for her odd and bright looking character.

If someone asked to describe this girl in only one colour, he'd probably just say "pink." Everything about her seemed pink, from her obvious pink hair to her pink eyes of the same shade; and her clothes - looking like some sort of jacked that doubled as a skirt - looked to have almost no colour in them except white. Hell, the darkest thing he could see on her was the grey stripe in her mechanical... cat ears?

Staring up at them, he could actually see that they flinched a bit, which surprised him. Looking a little further down, she noticed her big adorable eyes that looked like they belonged more on a kid than on an adult. If she was an adult.

Speaking of, she was staring back at him about as intensely as he was her; and being the first to break out of that trance, he looked away, a small blush coming to his face.

Not a second later, he heard steps being taken, and his own notebook being shoved in his face. Not any open pages or any blank pages, but just her tapping the cover of it, a specific part of it too - the labed. "Geometric Works Book," or more specifically, the bold "Geo" above it.

'Uh-huh...' he nodded, confused, not sure what she was pointing out. It looked a little faded, yes, but what was wrong with it?

She tapped it again, dragging her finger below the word "Geo."

Geo...

His face brightenned up in the form of surprise when he realised that Geo... was his name!

'Huh, would you look at that. Neat.'

Looking up at her, he nodded more assuredly this time, having a feeling that she was probably asking for his name.

In response, the girl - that he didn't know the name of - smiled brightly at him, glad that she was able to sort that out. Opening her mouth, she aimed to say something...

Before immediately closing it, a look of struggle on her face. Instead, she peered down at the notebook, her expression changing to a brighter one once she realised something.

Taking the pencil between on the floor and seeming to struggle a little with positioning both the pencil and the paper, she started sketching something on it. When she turned it around to face him, the drawing wasn't of any sort of person, certainly not her drawing herself with powers to make fun of him. No, instead all he saw was 3 symbols.

Geo looked up at her with a confused expression, her returning an expectant face. She flipped a page and drew again, even more symbols.

He looked up at her again, already feeling what's about to happen and already bored of it. The pink girl took it as a no, and did it again.

Again, she scribbled down a few symbols that might mean something if he knew the language.

Then she did it again, and again, and again; it took a little while, and Geo had finally decided to shove (launch) the tree ontop of him away and finally start getting up - which was a struggle all on its own considering anything he put weight into seemed to crumble and break, the ground too sometimes - but when he was trying to control his quivering legs that seemed both heavy AND light, Geo's own notebook was shoved into his face again.

Just as he was getting ready to shove it back into her - delicately so he wouldn't accidentally give her a black eye - he saw the 3 symbols on the notebook again.

There, in hand-writing he could only describe as "cute," were 3 letters of the alphabet he knew, and it read...

'Ami. Ami, is that her name?' he looked up at her, a look of understanding that hinted that he finally understood something she wrote.

He opened up his mouth to test the name, to just see how it rolls off the tongue, to give her actual confirmation, and just out of instinct. Because hey, he hasn't said anything to her yet, and his throat's been feeling a little dry and tight since he was pushed out that imaginary helicopter.

So, he opened up his mouth to say her name... And heard nothing come out.

He tried again, opening his mouth wide, and then closing his lips. 'Ah~ mi.'

Still, nothing came out. He didn't feel anything, his throat didn't feel sore, it just felt like the breath that was coming out of him didn't... count for his vocal chords?

He looked up at Ami, a freakout beginning to break out, but he didn't see a worried expression, a scared expression, or anything of the sort. Ami - the pink girl who he can't say the name of - just looked at him innocently. Which... actually helped a lot with his nerves.

Before he could say anything or do the closest thing to "talking," a swarm of weird fox balls(?) ran past, fooling around and playing with one another. He payed attention to them just because of how weird they looked, but he didn't pay much mind to it besides that. But maybe he was just unfocused enough to not hear someone sneaking up on him and grab his hand, pulling him forward to join in on the run, be it at a light jog.

Ami looked back at him - all smiles - even as he replied with a dumbfounded look on his face. Still, he let her guide him. She was probably the only guide that'd show him around this new world, after all.

'New world... I guess I am in a new world...' He smiled slightly, a little pool of glee coming from his chest.

'Neat.'

And so, the two ventured forward. Geo looking around the world, intrigued by the similarities between the animals and the fruit of his world, and his. Even if some of the main differences didn't make much sense to him. Like, why did the foxes have to be shaped like soccer balls?

At one point, he was so focused in the fox tail's bouncy and round body that he hadn't even realising that his body was rearing up for a kick. Hell, maybe he'd even her a "goal" over at wherever it landed.

Suffice to say, he got nagged on by both Ami, and the other fox tails that were around.

As weird as the foxes were, at least the bees were normal. He could fact check it too, he got a good eyeful at them when he tried impressing the pink-haired girl by trying to get a fruit just by punching the tree. Beehive landed right on him.

Throughout the entirety of the journey, Geo's body was slow to adapt to whatever-this-place-was-called - something he can't really ask Ami due to his newfound muteness, which wasn't something that took him too long to adapt. But slowly, he did. Geo came to realise that his body didn't get heavier, or lighter, it was just that his body gained... power.

He would go as far as to say that he's got super human strength. And also super human durability times two, since when he first realised that his strength might've multiplied tenfold, he decided to dash forward. To note? Doesn't increase reflex time, as he couldn't think fast enough to block his face from hitting the hard rock wall infront of him.

Left the wall with a hole the shape of himself, and Ami actually had to come help him.

All was fun, and he had gotten the hang of it much later throughout the day. He'd had spent the entire day just roaming around the plains, forest, and at the end of the day, mountains; all with Ami.

He hadn't even realised she was leading him up the mountain until he broke part of a stone bridge and had to go through a repeat of when he first came here, him tumbling down a mountain. Hewas then forced to climb all the way up, and that's when he decided to chance it and finally started trying to speed up. By time he caught up with Ami, he picked her up and just zoomed the rest of the way up in record time.

He sat down at the top, not exhausted, but really just tired.

'Huff... Is it just my imagination, or shouldn't night have come by now? I swear, if the days here are longer...' He thought to himself, before remembering first seeing the sun of this world. Nothing was wrong with the sun, perfectly normal, it was just now that he realised that the sun wasn't even in the middle of the sky. It hadn't even been midday when he got here, and in his world, it was already getting dark.

Geo let out a wind of air, not being able to let out the groan he so wanted. As uncomfortable as the rocks felt behind them, they felt pretty comfortable for his tired brain.

That was when someone took hold of his arm and started pulling, jostling him awake. He just looked up at the prosecutor, and noticed Ami's flustered face and her agitated movements. What? Was he about to miss something? Why does he need to get up?

Now really wishing he could groan, Geo got up and followed Ami down the other side of the mountain, a small naturally formed walkway bridging two mountains together. At the end of it, Ami stopped at the edge and looked ahead.

The boy was confused at first, but he soon realised why the girl was in such a rush. Over the mountains, the forest, and the plains, the sun was going down behind it, giving the two a clear view of it and what its rays were doing to the world. It almost hurt to look at, but he couldn't turn away from the colours that the rays turned the clouds, the water, and everything else.

"It's beautiful, right?" Geo heard someone say. He turned to Ami, his amazed look turning to one of slight shock. Hearing the girl next to him talk was a tiny mindblow for him, even if Ami had used her voice many times throughout the day - be it mainly gasping, awwing, yelling (at him mostly), and other sounds; he had totally convinced himself that she couldn't speak.

Ami just looked ahead, but as if he could feel his gaze on her, she turned back to meet his eyes. She didn't say anything else, didn't elaborate on what was beautiful, or even give him an introduction to the world like "welcome to Urf." She just smiled back at him.

He had no words, both literally and actually. So, they just stood there watching the sunset for a while; waiting for it to rest over the horizon and for night to come.

It was really peaceful actually, so much so that Geo had troubles staying awake.

It was night now and they were back in the plains, passing by Geo's surprise landing onto the floor and other catastrophes he made while trying to get a handle on his new power. If he had to guess, she was probably taking him back to her town or something, he saw a glimpse of a town when he was climbing the mountain, that might be it.

Geo flexed his hand, careful not to accidentally do something stupid, like create some sort of shockwave just by closing his hand too fast/hard. He wasn't a man to be surprised easily or to even to be excited for too long; but he couldn't help but feel amazed at how fast he was, not to mention how durable he was. He could barely register any pain, not even when he went at top speeds towards a rock wall face first. Barely a scratch, even on his clothes.

'Still,' he numbly tested out his hand, focused on thinking, 'I wonder if I have anything else? Ami hasn't really shown anything, but her hair's way too vibrant for it not to be magic.' He half-joked, a small smirk on his tired face.

Out of nowhere, a still-warm already-bitten apricot was shoved into his mouth, completely cutting off his daze as he turned his eyes to Ami, jogging forward to get something.

A crystal? Whatever it was, it was something shiny that was stuck in a bush. Must've been important to her with how suddenly she took off.

Just as he was about to take a bite out of the fruit, he heard something else in the bushes, like the whimper of a wolf. Turning to Ami, he saw her foot ontop of a furry tail, which quickly retracted back.

What was a pretty tiny and fluffy tail quickly turned around and gave face to a huge purple wolf probably twice the size of both of them. And from the looks of it, it looked pretty pissed off with Ami.

It took one massive step outside the bush, the pink girl taking a few more back. There, it stood menacingly, frightening its prey before actually attacking it.

Geo took a step forward, and whether the wolf felt it or heard it, it turned around to him all the same. What ticked it off was probably Geo's hardened gaze directed straight at itself.

Before Geo could even think up of a battle plan - which'd probably result in nothing even if he had the time - the wolf opened its mouth and some sort of magical purple blast manifested, before shooting directly at the boy in question. Without any preparation, he was an easy target and got hit...

!

And for the first time since he appeared in this world, Geo felt pain. Excruciating pain that racked his body, and his mind; it was like his body had never touched fire, and his first experience with it was being burnt alive.

His vision turned blurry, and the last thing he could see was the wolf looking down at his distant falling body, and Ami's innocent face finally turning to one of panic.

Then, everything went black.

He woke up with a daze, his vision still blurry and his head ringing. His hearing was blurred too, but he swears he could hear something coming closer?

Who was it? Did he fall asleep in class or something? Why is it dark, did they shut off the lights? He didn't think he'd have a bad enough reputation for people to not wake him up, but maybe his friends decided to do it, he wouldn't put it past their humour.

A foot entered his view, which gave him the idea that he wasn't sleeping on a desk, but on the floor.

Geo numbly looked up, his vision clearing up when he saw the face of the person infront of him. Pink glowing eyes whose colour looked a little familiar, but the contrast of the white hair and the black lolita-esque clothes were different from who he was thinking of.

The person kneeled infront of him, her absurd glowing pink (or are they red?) looking directly at him.

Her monotone voice filled his ears, "do you remember where you are?"

'Where I am? I... Oh...' He remembered the whole falling from the sky thing, where he crashed through mountains and through trees. That's when he met... Ami, right!

'Where's Ami, though?' He thought for a while, before clarity slowly reached his eyes on why he's even in the ground sleeping. Not sleeping, knocked out. He immediately got into a seating position, alert.

"Glad to see you remembered. The princess - Ami - is in trouble, and she desperately needs your help." She put a hand on his shoulder, like a queen would a knight when setting him out for a mission. "Do you know what to do?"

Geo was mid-nod before he stopped to think that he didn't even know where to begin. Seeing how quickly this person changed the topic to Ami's rescue - 'those damn wolves...' - he figured she could help her.

He shook his head, the white-haired woman expecting it, and pulling out something from behind her. Looked to be some sort of arc, a headband even. Looked oddly familiar.

"The princess has an unknown illness, one that saps away her lifeforce over time. If she goes hours without this," she lifted the mechanical headband, "she will die."

Geo's eyes squinted seriously, and he felt her opening up his hands and planting it between his fingers.

"Your job is to find her, and put this on her." She gave him the simple order, lifting herself up, and waiting for him to do the same.

Geo looked over the horizon, over at where the wolf and Ami were before he got shot with that wolf's magical roar blast. He wasn't a hunter, he hasn't seen any videos about hunters, or even switched the TV to watch the Discovering channel; he didn't really know how to follow the path left behind.

He turned to the red-eyed girl still next to him, her looking in the same direction as him, her arms crossed but a neutral - if a little foul - look on her face.

Upon Geo turning to her, she looked back, and looked to already know his dilemma on how to find Ami. So, she started explaining, "you've noticed your powers, correct? Enhanced strength, increased endurance, boosted speed?" She faced him.

"That is not all you have."

"I do not know the specifics of it," she continued on after a quick pause, "but I know it allows you to sense Ami. You must focus, learn it, and acquire it; and with it, you will be able to save Ami and carry her to safety."

Geo looked down at his hands, clenching them open and closed, feeling the power in hands to be able to rip bare trees in half, but not really the... power she was going on about. But if it's something he needs to learn to get to Ami, he will.

Looking at the woman straight in the eye, he nodded. She smirked in reply, before turning a little more serious.

"Go! Find the princess, she will guide you thereafter!"

He wasted little time, turning to where Ami last was, and sprinting ahead. He can't really sense her yet, but he wouldn't let that stop him. He'd go even further, if it weren't for the same woman as before calling out to him to stop.

"I've forgotten to mention, but... Welcome to Teora."

They stared at one another for a bit, before Geo nodded, saluted, and went; the two parting their ways the same time.

Geo sprinted ahead, his eyes slanted as he tried to focus on his "power."

His feet thumped down on the grass, deeply embedding his footprints into the ground as he thought of ways to activate it. Was it just thinking about her that could let him sense her? Whilst trying to keep an ear out, he thought hard on Ami, who he just now found out was a princess.

So, Geo tried thinking about her. Tried thinking of her pink hair, her pink eyes, her white clothes, all of Ami's most recognisable features. He even tried gripping her headband a little tighter (only slightly, of course), to see if that helped.

How focused he was and how dark it was, that he didn't even see the dead end he was running towards. It was only after he could no longer feel the ground beneath him did he realise he was running straight out a cliff.

Well, he had fallen enough times today to know how to do this. He fell through the air and in a matter of seconds he was on the ground, leaving a crater beneath him, and a shockwave of sound reverberating across the forest.

He hasn't been here before, so he tried looking around to see if there were any clues on where he was, or where Ami could've went. Wouldn't she have tried to go back? He never did look at the map, but it's entirely possible she's safe and just missing the headband...

'Maybe I should backtrack?' He looked back up the mountain, having a sneaking suspicion he could probably jump it.

Before he could think further, he heard a growl behind him, and saw the same wolf as before. Or, well, maybe it's a different wolf? Doesn't really look that different, not to his eyes, at least.

As if it could heard his internal monologue and took offense to it, the wolf started to summon a brand new attack in its mouth, like the other one.

'No.' He thought, not wanting to stick around to deal with the pain of that again. He jumped further down, escaping the wolf through a path in the woods.

Still, more decided to come, and more decided to charge up their attacks to hit him. Looked like those were its main attacks, but if he could just outrun them, he should be fine.

'I still need to find Ami, though.' It sucks that he couldn't call out to her, but he can't really do much with so many wolves hot on his trail. So, for now, he just decided to run, try and lose them.

The headband felt heavy in his hand as he genuinely did feel like he was ditching her, but he still had no idea how to active is power! 'Do I just need to look at a certain direction?' He thought, looking around.

Smell in a certain direction? He thought desperately as he started sniffing the air. Nothing came except for the foul smell of the wolves, which didn't even make sense to him. They didn't smell like anything, it was just a neutral smell that he automatically categorised as "bad" or "evil."

An evil smell, right. Geo rolled his eyes, missing the brigade of wolves up ahead ready to pounce on him.

He was capable of stopping just in time, dashing to his left to a bunch of forests, leaving the wolves who were about to attack him get hit with a multitude of energy blasts of its own brethren.

Dashing through the woods, he felt a droplet of water fall on his face as he kept running, and then more afterwards. Looking up for a quick second, he saw rain beginning to start up. Great, as if he weren't already handicapped, it's not like he was trying to outraces wolves in the woods or anything.

Still, it wasn't too long before he reached a clearing. Taking a quick look around, he pretty much just saw a pretty wide clearing filled with broken down machines that were overgrown, and a forest around them. The clearing wasn't closed off by just trees though, it seemed like the clearing is connected to some sort of big cave, connected to a series of cliffs.

But that wasn't the most important part, the most important part was what was at the entrance to the cave. There, a pink-haired girl stood. Unconscious and with a pained expression, she was laying down almost in a fetal position. Ami looked hurt, but not from any extreme damage from the wolves. She looked fine.

He stood there shocked for a moment, actually surprised he could find her, and happy that she was safe. It was obvious he wasn't used to being in extreme situations, as he immediately got tackled by all the wolves that were after him, the headband in his hands getting thrown many yards infront of him, almost to the middle of the clearing.

At first, it was a only one holding him down. Obviously underestimating his strength, and getting easily thrown back just by him flinging his body back. Then came more onto his back, then more actually holding part of his limbs. His limbs, his hands, feet, and even head were held down by at least a dozen of wolves.

Maybe he could've thrown them all away, and he was sure he could if he weren't so tired. He had woken up probably around 24 hours ago, and the nap that was forced into him by one of the wolves before didn't really do much to restore his energy. Add that to all the walking he did, and the sprinting prior?

That just left Geo a wiggling mess on the floor as he tried to muster up strength to throw any of them off. All he could resist, was the paw that was forcing his face to the ground, only capable of looking ahead and at Ami.

It was dark out, but Geo's had adapted to the darkness, at least enough for him to see areas under the moonlight. It was in the cave where Ami was that he saw something. With the moonlight seeping into it, he could see a giant wolf slowly appear from deeper into the cave, its fur blacker than the wolves untop him, and he could barely see the scars on him.

'Is that...' He slowly started to freak out, wiggling harder than before, 'Is that a boss monster? They're planning on giving Ami to it!'

And it was obvious what it wanted to do with her, with its jaw open and nasty looking drool coming from it, the light of the moon bouncing off of it as the drool bounced off of Ami, too.

The wolves untop of him started to struggle in keeping him pace, Geo being able to move his hands in quick bursts, but still not able to shake them all off his body. His hands were infront of him now, nails embedded in the soil as he tried to crawl himself forward with the wolves. Amazingly, it worked, the wolves actually being dragged along with him.

But even if he could get there this way, he wouldn't get there in time. No, by time he got there, Ami would've already been bitten, chewed, cracked, and dead.

In a desperate attempt, he tried lifting his hand towards him, trying to summon up anything from inside him. Anything, anything at all, to at least distract it. What would he do after distracting it? He didn't know, he just really wanted anything to happen!

'Anything! Please! It hasn't even been a day, this isn't meant to happen!'

He opened up his mouth in a quiet scream, again nothing coming out except his own breath.

Ami's face was scrunched in disgust, and it was probably from the foul smell of the wolf's breath directly ontop of her, maw all open and in place to take off her head.

In one final desperate movement, he swung his hand up towards her first friend in this world, the one who showed her this wonderful place, and potentially even the one who'd show him more of it. Of Teora, he remembered the other woman say.

'ANYTHING!'

Then, a loud boom came down in the middle of the clearing, light like lightning leaving the entire forest around him in a wave of blinding light, probably lighting up the forest a good bit around him. It was enough to stun everything and everyone in the clearing, even the rain for a small second.

Still, he didn't feel exhausted, he didn't feel used, he didn't feel like he did anything. Whatever wind that came with him thinking that that was his power, dropped when he came to that realisation. And the facts added up when the light faded away, and he could see a person there where the light lightning struck.

Yellow hair, yellow eyes, and white battle-ready clothes that looked to have armour around the joints of the arms and legs. If he'd wager a guess, he'd say this person was related to Ami, and the way she was looking at the boss wolf preparing to eat Ami seemed to further cement his belief.

She took a step back, put a hand behind her, and then launched her hand infront of her, index finger forward and pointing at the wolf. Immediately, a beam of yellow light came from her finger, and went STRAIGHT through the wolf's eye, coming out the other side of its head. He, and probably all the wolves too, could see this in clarity with how the beam light up everything in its path.

Before the wolf's corpse could even slump backwards, every other grey wolf in the area fled the opposite way of the warrior, the ones ontop Geo included.

Still, so shocked with the display of strength, that Geo didn't think to move. He just layed there in the muddy ground as the rain continued pouring down on him.

He saw the yellow woman pick up Ami's headband that he launched when he got tackled, and walking over to her. Ignoring the giant corpse of the wolf, she kneeled next to Ami and nestled her arm behind the princess' back, lifting her up. Planting the mechanical headband on her head, Geo could see the sigh of relief that came out of her mouth, and a few words spoken, too. He could barely hear it with how faraway they are, but he could hear the motherly worry that came with her.

It wasn't long after that that Ami was picked up bridal carry by the golden warrior, and literally shot into the air and back where she came from, a small glow coming from her.

Geo stared at where he could last see them, body still in the ground and exhausted from the exertion. But above exhausted, he felt cheated and disappointed. He was supposed to unlock whatever power he had and save Ami, and if it weren't for the other woman coming in to save her, she would've died.

'Shit...' He thought, as he weakly punched the ground. Wasn't even enough to crack it this time.

A/N: Sorry if the cuss was too much, I didn't wanna do something so heavy in the first chapter but I really wanted to show people the crushing fact that'll be shown more throughout the fanfiction: Geo's power isn't something easy to acquire.

Now, to explain the main AU and why Vania (that's the name of the red/pink-eyed vampire, yes she's a vampire) didn't give Geo any weapons. To put it simply: it isn't only Geo that has powers, it's the entire human race in Teora and that includes ones that already existed. Now, I won't go full butterfly effect and change every single thing, but I'll change a few things, such as:

Humans are akin to dragons in Teora's folklore, and they're less forgotten creatures and are treated more as myths. Vania - or whoever she got the info from - knows that Geo has powers, but the only concrete intel they got is that he has some sort of magic that goes beyond the superhuman strength and resilience. So, she thought that all Geo'd need is a push in that direction, believing he'll achieve that forbidden power and easily save Ami.

He didn't.

Lol.

Other changes also exist, like a small spoilers: Gwain's much more wary of humans, one would even say scared of them. Now, the story's already completely different so it won't go down the original GS timeline, but it's still something to note in the future.

See you in the already-uploaded next chapter.

P.S. The main reason why I made a fanfiction was because of how barren Gwain Saga was in relation to its fan stories. I hope that this little project of mine will push others to be able to make and post their own stories on here. Fanfictions are backbone to when a series goes into hiatus, and I feel like it could definitely engage the Gwain Saga community a little more - be it with reading, or creating, stories.
