Draco Malfoy smirked, gesturing down to his body - and his immaculate clothes. "What's there not to like?"

Harry's eyes bugged out, and he said, "Oh, I don't know, your attitude?"

Draco Malfoy turned towards Hermione, and got down on one knee, taking her hand in his.

"Stop! Stop stop stop!" Harry said. Simultaneously, Pansy said, "Oh, just gag me and get it over with."

"Hermione Granger, love of my life, you make me whole." Draco Malfoy said. And then he stood up, and kissed her soundly.

Harry Potter's jaw dropped open, and Draco Malfoy had the absolute gall to smirk, and ask, "What? What were you expecting?"*

Pansy just started snickering at Harry Potter's expression, and then Hermione started laughing, and then the four of them were all laughing at they'd-forgotten-just-what.

Hermione suddenly tugged on Harry's robe, "Harry, You've got to talk with Bill."

Harry nodded, "You're right, he'll have some good advice. And maybe some intelligence."

"Who's Bill?" Pansy asked, her eyes bright.

"Bill Weasley, who works at Gringotts." Hermione Granger said.

Draco Malfoy opened his mouth, and immediately found a sock in it. A literal sock. "Mrowh. I've got cotton mouth."

The responsible Harry just grinned. "I'd better write quick. When Ron finds out..." Harry shook his head, "It's not gonna be pretty."

"When the Weasel finds out what?" Draco Malfoy asked.

"That I asked you for help. That I decided to ask Hermione instead of him. That you're dating. Take your pick." Harry said, and looked so sad that Malfoy was almost moved to... he wasn't sure what.

Hermione looked at everyone, and said, "I'm going to go study this in the library, the sunlight is better on my eyes."

Everyone nodded, and Hermione left in a whirl of hair and books.

Draco Malfoy said, "I bet I can find something to read too."

"Wait," Harry Potter said, "I want the whole truth."

Draco Malfoy's face reflected only confusion, which was a rare look on him.

"About calling Hermione a Mud-" Harry couldn't get the word out.

"Okay," Draco Malfoy said, "I wasn't doing it out of some selfless 'don't let her get hurt' principle. I hated you back then - or rather, I thought I did. A child's hate, not worth beans in the scheme of things."

Harry nodded, "It was easy to hate you too, you know." Harry smirked, "Not real hate. Not you-killed-my-parents hate."

Draco nodded back, continuing, "I didn't want the school shut down. My mother and father had argued over whether to send me to Durmstrang or not. Well, my mother wanted to be certain that I'd be on her side. So she told me every horrible story, and made a few up I'm sure. I REALLY didn't want to have to got to Durmstrang."

Pansy spoke up, "Are you going to tell Hermione?"

Harry looked at her, looking, of all things, surprised, "No, why would I?"

Draco asked, "Are you planning on blackmailing me then?"

"No...?" Harry Potter said, looking even more confused.

"Then why'd ya ask?" Pansy said, exasperated.

"I don't like people withholding the truth from me. Bad things happen that way." Harry Potter said.

"Gryffindors!" Malfoy said, throwing up his hands as he walked out the door.

[a/n: Harry's not that noble. He just is really curious, and doesn't tend to scheme unless he's given good reason.
