Chapter 1: Birthday surprise
October 9th, the day before a certain blonde boy's birthday. The day he hated the most. He is about to be thirteen years old. As Naruto lays in his bed, thinking about tomorrow, he hears something coming from his front door.
"Who's there?!" he shouted as he got up.
As he turns the corner to enter his living room, he is hit with a hard object on his head. He falls to the ground as he listens to a group of voice talking and shouting in his home.
"Your time is up Demon Boy!"
"It's time to get rid of you for good."
"You're gonna pay for what you did thirteen years ago."
Naruto slowly begins to hear less and less as he slowly goes into unconsciousness. The group begin to drag naruto out as the rest of Konoha sleep soundless
Monday, October 10th.
Sakura and Sasuke are waiting on training ground 7 for their loud mouth blond boy and their silver hair jounin sensei. After three hours Hatake Kakashi finally appeared, in a puff of smoke, giving his signature eye smile. "Yo," he said, greeting the two.
"Where's naruto?" He asked his two students
"I don't know Kakashi-sensei, he never misses training," the pink haired genin said, while her hand stroked her chin.
"Hm," grunted Sasuke. He couldn't care less where the blonde dobe could, but he does think it is strange for him to miss a training session.
Kakashi decides to continue with their training as usual, without Naruto, so his other two students could at least get some training in before the festival. Kakashi knows that today is Naruto's birthday. He also knows that Naruto is always abused on this day since it also happens to be the same day the kyuubi was killed by the fourth Hokage. Only a certain few know that Naruto is the vessel for the Kyuubi and the fourth Hokage's son. After a few hours of training with Sasuke and Sakura, Kakashi lets them go for the day.
"Kakashi-sensei, where do you think Nartuo is?" Sakura asked.
"I don't know, Sakura. Why don't you two go on and enjoy the festival and i'll go look for Naruto." Kakashi gave them his signature eye smile.
"Make sure to scold him for missing training, that Baka." Sakura shouted.
"Hm." grunted the Raven haired Uchiha.
With those final words, Kakashi shunshin from their view. Kakashi appeared in front of Ichiraku Iamen. As he enters, he finds a chunin and Jounin eating two large bowls of Ramem.
"Yo, Iruka, Anko." Kakashi said in his calm voice. Iruka and Anko both turned away, while still slurping their Miso ramen.
"Oh, hey Kakashi. What brings you here?" Iruka asked as he finished sipping his bowl of ramen.
"Oh I was looking for Naruto. He missed today's training, it's not like him to do that. I was just looking for him in his favorite spots."
"Well he isn't here, but you're right that isn't like him. I'm done with my food so I'll help you look for him. You should check his apartment and I'll check the Hokage Monument." Iruka said as he left his seat.
Sasuke is walking around the festival while Sakura continues to follow him and try to convince him that they are on a date.
"You know Naruto has been acting weird for a couple of days. Remember how he was yesterday?" Sakura said quietly.
Flashback to Sunday, October 9th
It may be October but in Konohagakure it never gets cold and stays warm year round. On this particular day the weather was warmer than usually, as team 7 is getting their daily training in. As Kakashi and Sakura watch the blonde boy and Raven hair boy spar, they see that Naruto is sweating more than usual.
"Alright, that's enough for you two." Kakashi said in a calm manner, to try and prevent the two from fighting once more. Sakura moves closer to the two with Kakashi. She sees that Naruto is breathing harder than usual.
"Hey Naruto, why don't you remove your sweater. It's too hot to be wearing that." Sakura moves close and grabs his arm, moving the sleeve upwards for him. Naruto suddenly flinches as if trying to hide his hand.
"Don't do that!" Naruto yelled as he put his hand behind his body. "I'm sorry I'm not hot or anything. Kakashi-Sensei, do you think I can go home early? I have to go get more groceries for the week." Kakashi looked at his student, puzzled at the fact that Naruto wanted to leave training. 'Naruto wants to leave early!? He lives for training.' Sakura thinks to herself.
"Sure Naruto." Kakashi gives him a small eye smile as he watches the blonde boy run back home.
"Hm" is all that Sasuke could reply with. Sasuke would never admit it or tell anyone but he also thought that his rival's attitude was stranger than normal yesterday. As he continues walking he hears Sakura tell him something unexpected.
"I think we should check up on him and see if he is alright." Sakura looks to her teammate for approval. Sasuke looks at her and decides to agree as he nods his head. Together both genin take to the roof to get there faster. A few feet away, Shikamaru is eating Dango with Ino and Choji as he watches the two members of team 7 go on the roof.
"Hey guys, It's time to go. I think something is up with team 7." The black haired Chunin says to his two teammates. Ino and Choji look at each other as they begin to get up. They soon take to the roof in pursuit of Sasuke and Sakura.
Sasuke and Sakura finally reach Naruto's apartment complex. As they go up the stairs and reach the end of the hall, they are surprised to find the door busted in. Sasuke enters the home first, with a kunai in his hand. Sakura enters after him. They look around his small kitchen/living room. They turn on a light and their eyes begin to widen. On Naruto's wall they can see that someone spray painted horrible things all over his wall.
"Your time is up Demon Boy!"
"It's time to get rid of you for good."
"You're gonna pay for what you did thirteen years ago."
"The Demon's time is up. He will die soon."
As they continued to look at the wall, they heard a creak come from the entrance. Both genin turn around, in a fighting stance. They are surprised to see Team Asuma, standing in the entrance.
"What are you guys doing here," Sasuke asked the trio.
"I had a bad feeling after not seeing Naruto with you two at the festival." The young Nara says in a Lazy manner. As the trio continue to look around, they finally walk into his bedroom, that is when Sakura stepped in a puddle. As Sasuke turns Naruto's bedroom light on, Sakura screams in horror. The group suddenly sees a puddle of blood, on the floor next to Naruto's bed.
"What happened here?" The silver hair jounin says as he walks into the bedroom. Horrified with the scene he has walked into.
