"Good morning Jess! Or should I say afternoon now. Time seems to have gotten away from me today. " Diana smiled warmly at Lena's assistant and held out a plastic bag, a square outline of a plastic container revealing itself within the thin textile. "I happened to be at that charming diner you and Kara are always raving about and snatched a couple of slices of apple pie." She winked before setting the bag down on Jess' desk. "I made sure to save you a slice." Jess snatched the bag from the edge of her desk and drew it close to her chest. "Oh my gosh, you're the best!" She exclaimed excitedly.

Diana laughed, apparently Kara has rubbed off on Lena's assistant more than she realized. "I aim to please. Is Lena around?"

Jess picked up her desk phone and pushed the speed dial. "Miss Luthor, Diana Prince is here." She nodded once and picked up her pen and scribbled a few notes into her note book. "Right away Miss Luthor, of course I'll let Veronica know….I'll send her in now."

Diana took her cue and smiled gratefully at Jess who squinted her own smile and lifted her bag as thanks in return. She made her way to the door and upon opening it watched as Lena smiled and stood happily from her desk.

"Lena. Thank you for seeing me. I know this wasn't a planned meeting."

"Of course, what brings you in today?" Lena walked around her desk. Her hands reached out in welcome as they met near the middle of her office.

"I actually have some great news. The location for the fundraiser we've been putting together has an opening. I got word from the vendor that the event center just had a cancellation and we can get a date scheduled by the end of next month."

"Oh, wow that is good news. A month isn't much time though, It'll be tough to get everything coordinated by then. Do you think we can manage it?"

"Most of the planning has been taken care of, we just need to send out the invitations and call the other vendors to nail down the final details."

"Alright, we will need to coordinate with Sam. I'll have Jess call to reserve the—" Lena stopped abruptly when a familiar thud of boots landed on her balcony.

"Big Belly Burger delivery service. As requested. You know it's a funny thing…" Kara announces as she walks through the open balcony doors not glancing in Lena's direction. Her hands are full of take out as she makes a bee line directly towards the open counter top, depositing the bags there with a flourish. "They have delivery services that can do the same thing, but I suppose having an in with Supergil has its perks. Though I feel slightly taken advantage — Diana!" Kara stops suddenly mid turn as she realizes she's amongst company. Diana chuckles and waves her fingers at Kara who lights up and before she has a chance to blink Kara is in front of her pulling her into a hug. "What a great surprise!" She turns around and beams at Lena "You planned this?" She asked happily the surprise still lingering in her voice as she wraps her arms into Diana's.

Lena shakes her head. "I'm afraid not. Diana just stopped by for a quick visit." She and Diana shared an amused look between them at Kara's expense. "Though you are welcome to stay for lunch. I'm sure Kara wouldn't mind sharing one of her five burgers with her girlfriend." Lena teased playfully.

Diana looked between the two of them with a questioning look not sure whether or not to intrude on their lunch plans, which she knew, from Kara's weekly updates on them, was a common occurrence. However, knowing they had scheduled lunch plans every Friday and seeing it seemed to do two contrastingly different things to her heart. Both looked at her happily as Kara added her own sentiments "Yes, stay! That is, if you don't have somewhere else you'd rather be?" She added as an aside.

"I don't know…" Diana said playfully as she pulled Kara in closer to her. "I've been told never to eat a Kryptonian's food… in fact I have it on good authority that doing so would risk an arm or a limb and I do so like everything attached to me."

Kara hummed a laugh as her eyes glanced down briefly at Diana's body before turning her attention towards Lena. She quickly pulled herself away from Diana's embrace, making her way over to the food. "If on good authority you mean Lois and the kryptonian in question is Clark, then yes, eat at your own peril. I, on the other hand, learned how to share." She said as she tossed a burger in its wrapping paper at Diana's head, who caught it with ease.

"Well then I guess that's settled." Lena said promptly. She thanked Kara for her own grilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries which Kara had plated and handed to her as she sat down in the armchair while Kara and Diana found spots on the sofa.

"So what's the sitch?" Kara asked as she unwrapped her own burger and took a bite out of it.

Diana looked at her with a blank expression. "The what?"

It was Kara and Lena's turn to eye each other knowingly a small challenge in Kara's eyes as she nods towards Diana, while Lena shakes her head in defiance. Then Diana watches as the two share an entire conversation silently with non verbal cues before Lena sighs heavily and Kara chuckles at Lena's amused and rather annoyed look. Lena rolls her eyes and groans half heartedly as she looks back at Diana for sympathy. "I can't believe I know this now…It's from a cartoon and it—"

"Name the cartoon Lena." Kara interrupts.

Lena groans but the smile is only increasing in width upon her face. "Kim Possible…" She glares back at Kara who claps proudly before she gestures for her to continue. "She's asking us, in her childish lingo, what we've been talking about in her absence." She glances at Kara who just looks absolutely elated at the moment. She thrusts her plastic fork pointedly at Kara, a sweet potato fry still skewered at the end of it. "That's your one for the month, Kara."

"Oh, but it's just so fun when you explain fun pop culture idioms instead of me." Kara turns to Diana. "It always sounds so much better when Lena explains a turn of phrase. Plus I love it when she gets all riled up. See, when I do it I have to explain the entire plot of the show or movie I referenced which according to some…" Kara nods in Lena's direction.

"Most Kara, not some." Lena corrects.

Kara flings a french fry at Lena who swats it away and laughs as she plunges a fork into another one of her orange fries and pretends not to listen.

"SOME…" Kara emphasizes, "is way too much information and borders on harassment." Kara scoffs her mouth hanging open like she's been personally attacked and asking Diana for back up. Diana just watches her with affection and titters lightly as she takes a bite of her burger.

"And the 'one for the month' comment?" Diana prods Lena.

"You have no idea how many times she will insert those little diamonds into conversation. They inevitably will get a similar reaction as yours and despite her pleading, I refuse to let anyone know how truly indoctrinated I have become to the pop culture world and instead pretend I am just as clueless as the next person for 29-30 glorious days of the month."

"She only acts like she's put out." Kara leans into Diana's side as if she's sharing a secret, but she speaks loud enough for all of them to hear. "But she secretly loves that she now understands the references."

"Thank you sensei." Lena tips her head playfully in a bow.

"You're most welcome padawan." Kara bows back in turn.

Diana watches them as they banter back and forth as she peels back the wrapping of her own burger taking another bite. Something between the two of them is charged in a way that Diana can't quite place. She chalks it up to them having known each other for years and leaves it at that having no further reason to really dwell on the matter further.

"Well I guess, in answer to your question then, I came here in regards to the fundraiser we are putting on. Turns out we should be able to have it by the end of the month." She and Lena smile at each other, both of them pleased with the tremendous progress they've made so far in such a short time frame. "This program will help a lot of people. In fact, I ran across someone last night on my way home from Kara's who I think would be a great fit for the program once it's launched."

Lena perked up at this. "Oh?"

Diana nodded excitedly. "John Henry Irons. You may have heard of him. He was very well known in the engineering community before–"

"How in the world did you run into Henry?" Lena asked stunned, her food suddenly forgotten as she fixed her attention onto Diana.

Diana wiped the corner of her mouth with a napkin and straightened. "So you have heard of him?"

"I've heard of him." Kara chimes in. "Wasn't he the guy that Superman saved during the Doomsday battle years ago? The one that nearly took his life." Kara shudders when she recalls the newspaper trimmings of that battle. She was still trapped in her pod in the Phantom zone. Clark had just revealed himself to the world as Superman when Doomsday appeared. The image of Clark in Lois' arms limp and lifeless is hard to forget. "He did an interview shortly after where he talked about a kind of organic steel compound he had been trying to gain traction with. A kind of super soldier…"

"He's a genius, LCorp tried and failed years ago to recruit him onto our research and development team, but he apparently got an offer from Amertek he couldn't refuse." Lena explained hastily, her brows knitting together as she tried to fit certain puzzle pieces together in her head. "How did you meet?"

"I found him homeless and begging on Kara's street corner. I offered him food and he had a lot to say about the program, especially what it could do for kids interested in the field of engineering. He didn't elaborate on his whole story, but Amertek made it next to impossible for him to land any job. Essentially blacklisting him. He's been struggling ever since." Diana explained. "I thought maybe I could get him in touch with you?" Diana asked Lena, already feeling significantly more hopeful for her new friend knowing both Lena and Kara had heard of him before.

"I'll do you one better, have him stop by and I will personally offer him a job. I could use another competent engineer in the labs to help Brainy out of the mess my senior project manager got us into."

"Really? Just like that?" Diana asked, a bit stunned.

"I could interview him if you like, but if he's got half the brain he once had he'd still be lightyears ahead of most of my team." Lena looked at her seriously, "and my team is comprised of the best in their BBQ fields. He deserves a second chance, and I have the ability to give it to him, so why not?"

Kara sat back and studied Lena for a moment and shook her head in a state of awe. Lena shifted in her seat and looked at Diana before looking back at Kara. "What?"

"You are truly a kind and generous person, Lena." Kara said affectionately. "It's, in every respect, something remarkable to see and it goes unsaid too often. Kindness is so easily dismissed and taken for granted. People feel they are entitled to it, but rarely dole it out on those who most deserve it. Generosity is easily bought and people hide behind their good fortune and charity. Yet you give both away so freely and in tandem and it shouldn't go unrecognized."

Lena smiled softly and a subtle blush dusted her cheeks which she quickly shielded away with her glass of water. Diana fiddled with the folded wrapper still held tightly in her hands and didn't notice Kara's eyes lingering on Lena's before finally breaking, finding the coffee table suddenly much more appealing. There wasn't much else to say after that and all three of them let Kara's words of affirmation linger in the air. The consequence of their uninterrupted silence allowed the heartfelt sentiment to settle between them, as each interpreted the meaning behind the accolade differently.

"Awkward in what way?" Sam asked. "We all know Kara loves to reside within the margin of what's considered normal behavior." Sam sat back on the palms of her hands as she crossed her legs out in front of her. She watched as Lena flitted through her bedroom in her black bra and the skirt from work she had yet to remove. There was a small neatly stacked pile of clothes resting to the side of Sam on Lena's bed that Lena had sifted through about seven times already as she made her rounds around the room.

She swatted at Ruby's hand as she tried to discreetly snag another shirt to try on while they both waited impatiently for Lena to get dressed. Ruby swatted back at her mother before Sam glared at her as only a mother knows how effectively making her adolescent child cower. However, not before said adolescent snatched the shirt, and shot her tongue out of her mouth, causing Sam to launch herself toward her. Ruby dodged her mother's advance, a small squeal escaping her lips as she threw her hands up in the air, mouthing a victorious 'ha' with a wide grin on her face as she waved the confiscated shirt in front of her before retreating to the hallway bathroom.

Sam smirked at the doorway, before averting her attention back to Lena.

"Just awkward. I mean the lunch was fine, enjoyable really, but it's Diana and Kara. It's hard to find fault with either of them." She glances over at Sam who quickly changes her gag face to an overly sweet and innocent smile. Lena chooses to put on her earrings and ignore her friend. "It wasn't awkward until Kara said… what she said… she had a whole motivational speech and everything."

"God I hate that about her." Sam said, causing Lena to whip her head around and Sam threw her hands up in surrender. "Joking."

Lena gave her a warning look before she went back to her prepping. "It just sent the whole room into a cone of silence."

"A cone of silence?" Sam asked, trying her best to hide the laughter from her voice in hopes that Lena wouldn't catch it.

Lena fumbles with the clasp to her bracelet and Sam comes to her rescue. "You know, like from the show Get Smart?"

"Hmm?" Sam asks as she also fumbles with the tiny clasp.

"It's a show about an inept spy who tries regularly to use a sound dampening device for secret conversations but it never works… I'm saying that we were all in a weird silent stand still… though that reference doesn't really apply now that I think about it because the whole joke around the cone of silence is that the device prevents those within it to hear anything while everyone outside of it hears everything… or something like that…"

Lena looks up from where Sam had stilled at her wrist to meet Sam's gaping face. "What?" Lena asked.

Sam watches her silently as her lip quivers with restraint. "Me what? You what?" She asks ineloquently. "Lena what the hell was that? Did you just become Kara for a second there?" Lena wrenches her wrist out of Sam's hands with a loud scoff and walks toward her clothes. "No really, I want to know. That was eerily uncanny and I have no words to describe how I'm feeling right now. Is this what an out of body experience is like?" Sam looks down at herself then around as she twirls in a quick 360º.

"Please shut up now." Lena begs as she tries very hard not to pay her friend any attention. She chooses a loose fitting satin maroon blouse and black denim jeans and starts the process of getting dressed. "I'm just saying that what she said was like—-" she searches for the right set of words to convey to Sam. "I don't know, it bordered on flirting, God you should've seen the look she gave me."

"I'll pass." Sam said quickly.

"It's crazy though right? I just read too much into it. It's Kara after all. She says things like that all the time."

"Not to me." Sam mutters under her breath trying very hard not to roll her eyes.

"What did you say?"

"I thought I saw a bee."

Lena levels a glare at Sam knowing she's full of shit, but not really feeling the need to pry information out of her. She buttons her jeans and looks down at herself before getting a thumbs up from Sam in approval. She puts her hands on her hips in a very Kara-like fashion, which Sam bites her lips to prevent from pointing out, and turns her head towards her closet. "Ok shoes…"

Lena disappears into her master bathroom in search of a pair of heels while Sam settles back into position on Lena's bed again. She picks at the fabric absently, "Why didn't you ask Andrea to come tonight?"

"Why on earth would I do that?"

"I don't know, I just figured since Kara and Diana are dating…"

"I'm not really interested in a fling or any relationship really."

"Not even to make her jealous?"

"It wouldn't be fair to that Andrea or whoever anyways so why put myself or them through that?" Lena said matter of factly. "Seems like a pretty petty thing to do anyway."

"I just figured it might help alleviate a need if you catch my drift."

"I'm good thanks… I'm happy where things are with me and Kara. Do I like being in a room with both of them at the same time…no. But I wasn't really expecting anything from Kara more than friendship anyway. If sometime down the road things were to change…or if I meet someone I like, well that's different isn't it." There was a long silence, the sound of light rustling as Lena continued to move around her closet. "I guess that's why lunch felt so weird. It was like something shifted between us."

"Well as long as you're happy…" Sam tapered off and lay sideways on the bed pulling a pillow into her side. "So…Is Alex going to be there?"

A muffled 'that's generally the expectation." Was heard in response.

"How is she doing by the way? You know since Kelly left for Star City."

Lena appeared from her closet looking down at her pumps as she put them on while leaning against her bathroom doorway, but the smirk on her lips was still visible and Sam tried her best to pretend not to notice it. "Central City." Lena corrected. "Which you knew already, based on the number of phone calls you got from Alex during that time."

"I haven't really spoken to her much since they broke up. Which was, what, six months ago now?"

"Are you asking me? I've got my own Danvers I'm pining over. I don't keep track of the other sibling."

"I'm not pining." Sam said all too quickly.

"Now who's in denial?" Lena laughed amusedly.

"I don't like this shift in dynamic. Quick, let's talk about Kara again." Sam deadpanned.

"No, no, you brought it up and I want to enjoy this." Lena said, her attention now fixed on Sam and a broadening smile reached across her face as she made her way to the bench at the foot of her bed. She sits down sideways on it to keep Sam in her view. "Yes, six months. She's single and ready to mingle."

"You're the CEO of a tech conglomerate who single-handedly made an anti Kryptonite suit in under an hour a little over a year ago and a yellow sun bomb a few short months later. Please refrain from ever using phrases like 'single and ready to mingle' ever again. It doesn't suit your image."

"You're deflecting and I won't let you."

Sam huffs and slaps her hands on the bed forcing herself upright. "Fine. I like her ok. I like her a lot. I can't get her out of my head and every time I'm around her my brain short circuits. Happy?!"

"Very much so, yes."

"I hate you."

"You love me."

"It's a thin line."

"Kara! Pizza guy is here!" Alex yelled across the flat. Kara rushed out of her bedroom still towel drying her hair, a loose v-neck tank top and pajama shorts adorning her person as she stamped down quickly on bare feet towards her kitchen. She leaned over the island reaching for her bag and slung it across the room towards Alex to pay the man.

"Thanks Rick!" She called back as she half jogged back into her room.

"Of course she knows you by name." Alex mumbled as she pulled an extra set of bills from Kara's wallet out as a hefty tip then swapped the money for the pizzas. "Thanks."

Rick lingered at the front door, his eyes darting back towards where Kara disappeared and sighed heavily, disappointment etched over his features. "Something I can help you with there buddy?" Alex asked, already eyeing the boy warily.

"I -uh, She's–" Rick stammered. "She usually gets the pizzas."

"Yessss." Alex drew out. "That's how ordering works…"

Rick seemed to realize suddenly he was being watched and he quickly drew back on his heels, focusing his attention on Alex. "She orders a lot."

She nodded slowly. This seemed to only make Rick squirm which Alex found very entertaining. "She also knows me by name." Rick continued eyeing Alex with a look that practically begged her to understand without him having to explain any further.

"She's got an excellent memory." Alex confirmed.

Rick combed his hair back with his fingers and Alex watched as he found his resolve. "Do you think she might want to go out w—" The door slammed in his face as Alex kicked it closed. A stunned "Hey! Not Cool!" was heard muffled on the other end. Alex smirked and walked the pizzas over to the bar setting the boxes down. When she looked up, she saw Kara brushing her teeth from her doorway with an eyebrow raised. Alex lifted her shoulders up and smiled at her sister as she watched her shake her head and return back to her task of brushing her teeth.

"What time is everyone getting here?" Alex asked, not bothering to raise her voice as she made her way through the kitchen pulling out plates and napkins and plastic cups to set up for everyone to use.

"Any minute now." Kara called back, a small cabinet closed from the room she was in followed by a loud bang and whispered "Crud!"

"What was that?" Alex asked as she made her way to where the noise came from. "Oh no!" Alex threw her hand to her face to stop the laughter.

"Don't!"

Alex reached for her phone.

"Alex, don't you dare!"

The flash answered for her.

The doorbell chimed happily right after and Alex looked back towards the front door and laughed as she turned around. Kara shook the baby powder off as best she could. "I just took a shower." Kara lamented.

Alex jogged to the front door. "Hey Lena, Sam…Ruby!" Alex pulled Ruby into a big hug lifting her slightly off the ground. She called back towards her sister as she heard her growl in frustration "This is one of those times where it's a good thing you have superspeed."

Lena and Sam gave Alex a questioning look before Alex lifted up her phone where she showed them the picture of Kara sitting in her bathroom covered in baby powder, her hand outstretched towards Alex mid-protest.

"Doesn't work well in the shower when the droplets basically come to a standstill Alex!" Kara darted over to her laundry room and threw off her tank top shoving it into the washer with frustration. "Oh! Hey guys!" Kara smiled at her friends.

"Are you baking again Kara? I thought Alex banned you from ever using flour without supervision." Sam chided.

"Et tu Sam? That was 15 years ago and she still holds it over me!" Kara protested as powder puffed in the air when she flung her arms out indignantly. Kara grabbed a hand towel out of the hamper as Alex pulled Sam into a strong side hug. "You try teaching a Kryptonian preadolescent how to open a bag of flour and see how you fare."

"Ha ha, and no, this is baby powder. I exploded it and not on purpose."

"Is it ever on purpose Kara?" Lena chimed in. Her eyes fixed on Kara's.

Kara's mouth hung open at the betrayal. "It's fine. I have it under control." Kara wiped her face with the towel quickly and put her hands to her hips instinctively, realizing suddenly that she was only wearing her pajama shorts and a cotton bra. She stiffened when Lena walked over to her and gently tapped her nose pulling her finger back to show a layer of white powder where it once was clean. "Missed a spot."

A deep blush rushed over her cheeks and Kara's eyes widened slightly before she steeled her features. "Uh, sorry, excuse me for a sec." She vanished into her room instantly, the sound of the shower turning on soon after.

Alex pulled Ruby into an arm lock and walked her over to the pizzas. "Kid! I haven't seen you in forever, you're huge now!"

"Yeah, yeah, let go!" Ruby squirmed to try and get away but Alex held firm.

"Your gettin' soft Rubes, come on I taught you how to —Ooof!" Alex released her in favor of holding her ribs as she sucked in some air. "Solid hit kid."

"She's not a kid anymore." Sam remarked, her voice tinged with a hint of melancholy at the fact. Sam turned to Lena and snapped her fingers at her friend whose eyes were still transfixed towards Kara's room. Lena turned her back to Alex and gave Sam a look, mouthing "oh my god!" as her eyes rolled back and she snapped her teeth together with an audible bite her hands clenched into fists at her sides.

"Get a grip." Sam said through gritted teeth. "We just walked through the door."

"Did you not see the restraint I had by not shoving my tongue down her throat? Give me some credit here." She whispered back. Sam scrunched her face in disgust and moved past her towards Ruby and Alex who were already pulling out a bowl and bag of popcorn. Lena made herself busy by removing her coat and placing her things on the coat rack. She made her way to join everyone in the kitchen, pulling out a glass and pouring herself some wine. If this was how the start of game night was going to go she was in trouble.
