The Diego Diaries: Crisis Point (dd8 108)

=0=On a sea far away

They sailed onward through the darkness heading toward a sentient light far away. Sitting or standing on the deck of Their vessel, the Pantheon waited, some chatting together softly or standing along the deck to stare into the distance.

"This is a novel way to call," Solomus said as He stood at the prow beside Micronus.

"Its a glorious way," Micronus said as He floated in the air next to His brother, the one whose wisdom was a great solace as well as asset. "We pay a call to Father in a way befitting Our brethren, explorers on a lost and tempest-tossed sea."

"True that," Solomus said. "Every step forward seems ten steps backward."

The sound of furling cast their optics upward to the sails. They were moving in the force of an unseen wind that powered their vessel across the dark sea of space. It wasn't just any space. This was the realm of The One, Prime Source, the Emanation Point Of All Existence. Their ship was a schooner, one from the history books of Earth or perhaps other places as well that was made of silver. Its tall spires held up the sails that seemed to be undulating copper.

The 'beams' of the ship creaked as if wooden, as if sailing a real sea. The deck was flat and all around Them They could see other travelers making their way toward the epicenter of All That Is in many different manners. The ones They saw go past were flashes of light, some small and others great heading at various speeds directly toward the same direction. They were racing toward a great city made of light. It was ahead of Them as They rolled on an imaginary sea aboard an imaginary ship.

The City ahead was emanating blue light bleeding into white that was darker along the corners and edges of the buildings that could be seen within. It was massive, so tall as to be incalculable and from its upper regions light beaconed upward to disappear into infinity. The glow was beautiful, blue bleaching toward white as it radiated from the center of the construct. Flashing into and out of it, lights and sometimes discernible figures could be seen flying their way forward. It was up to the traveler how they would but most were aboard ships both modern and ancient like Their own.

Solus Prime walked to the prow to stand between Them. "This is beautiful. I do like coming here. I must do it more."

"There is so much to do," Solomus said. "We all should come here more often."

Big lights streaked past them heading toward the city. They were brilliant white beings going to see the Central Being Of All That Is. In the distance all around, the usual constructs and lights of space were evenly spaced and elegant. They were where they needed to be and none of them read as galaxies, comets or stars. They were instead universes, endless universes filled with life and purpose. They radiated from this point as did All Things.

The ship sailed onward as the city began to grow. It was beautiful and the light was sentient. It bid welcome and caressed Them with love, endless unconditional love. It knew who They were before They even arrived. They were nearly at the home of The One.

=0=There

They went through their orn doing jobs that needed to be done.

Ironhide was on Cybertron helping with the new armories here and there in places where military bases were being created. They would be highly secured, supplied and because they were the homes-to-be of soldiers and Seekers, towns were being created around them, a change in the planning. Families and others who wanted to live in military areas would have a decent home and city with all the amenities that entailed. No longer would they live wherever they could in drab places with towers of apartments that had no beauty and minimal comforts. Quality of life was a very important part of any rebuilding going on here.

Ratchet had called in and would meet them, Ironhide, his elders, the usual mob and Prime who were on inspections, endless inspections and morale boosting visits to The People at 1400 at the Crossroads on the Hydrax Plateau. Until then, it was an endless drudge around the planet.

=0=At the Point Of All Things

They walked through the streets heading for a magnificent house at the end of the main street that led to the center of the construct. Everything radiated out from it and on all of the streets leading in all direction magnificent buildings could be seen. Individuals were everywhere, those some cultures might call angels and others who were of all manner and type of being from the universes beyond. They appeared to be busy doing the work of Creation and supporting of souls everywhere.

Climbing the steps that led to massive doors, the Pantheon walked onward passing those They knew and those They didn't. It would take a while to get where They were going.

=0=Elsewhere

They stood in a group staring at a pool of water in which there were fishes swimming. It was an aquarium built into the floor of one of the many sections of the Science Center at their school. Around them were any number of stations related to the content they were staring at but this one was among the most popular. All manner of Cybertronian fishes and small aquatic life were at home here in this, a very large tank where one could look at them.

A see through covering, hard and protective was placed over it so that the children who visited it could walk over the pond to look inside. They did, many of them and were very happy pointing out this and that thing.

Sitting nearby watching as they explored, teachers waited for them to exhaust their curiosity so that the lesson could begin. It was amusing and interesting to listen to them point out this and that, walk over to this and that part of the construct and be genuinely delighted at the sights therein.

Han and Praxus were standing over a small group of turtle-like creatures who were sitting on rocks out of the water. They were holding each other's servos as they did. Nearby on his hands and knees, Orion along with Olo, Bleu and Mimi were exclaiming over fish.

"Those are so pretty. I like the blue ones," Mimi said in her tiny voice. She pointed to blue fish that lit up with different colored body lights. Most of the Cybertronian flora and fauna of a type did so and she was enamored of it.

"I like them, Mimi," Orion said with a giant smile. "Them my shes!"

El walked over to them, then pointed down. "Are those your shes, Orion?" she asked with a big smile.

Orion laboriously stood, then walked to her. He slipped his arm around her shoulders gently. "Them my shes. You my she. You good, El?"

"I'm good, Orion," she said as she put her arm around his waist, the one given back to her by the Matrix. "Are you good, too?" she asked sweetly.

"I, Orion good. I good me. I good you. I good Boo, Mimi and Olo. You my shes. I good you. You good me. We good." He grinned his pac man grin as everyone patted him.

"Those kids are so cute," Laret said. "I have a dream job, just so you know."

Mr. O-27 or 'T' grinned. "You and me both."

It would go on like that for a while.

=0=In a room made of light

They gathered, the Powers, greeting each other with sibling affection. As They waited They caught up. No one spoke of the problem yet. It would show itself and then They would pool their wisdom to see what could be done about it. Until then, They were 'good' to each other for a few moments.

=0=In line going onward

They took their handhold on the rope line, then followed Laret and Mr. 'T' as they walked out of Science Lab-Flora and Fauna #2 toward the elevator and break time in the classroom on the 18th floor of Sparkling Day School #1 in Terra. Walking along chatting things up, they entered the elevator, waited until it went down, then walked out again. It was a talkative good time to the door where they went in to sit at their little tables on their little chairs.

The aides, a room granny and a visiting amma helped the staff hand out cookies, a nice 'juice' drink and cloth napkins that were washed in the basement. It was more ecological to do cloth than paper it would seem. It was a bustle of very happy adults assisting the staff to get things ready for the babies. Then they were served at last. Stepping back with smiles, everyone waited for the teachers to signal the okay.

All of the children sat on their tiny chairs looking up expectantly at Amma Laret aka Lo-Lo for permission. She gave it, then they began to eat and sip. It would be a very sweet low key moment or two in the classroom snack area.

=0=In a sacred space

They turned to the sound of footfalls as two individuals walked toward Them with smiles. They bowed their helms slightly, then shook servos and gave hugs. At last, They gathered around a table that seemed made of light that materialized out of nowhere. Everyone sat, then waited.

Finally, Prima stood, then bowed His helm respectfully. "We are glad You are here. We have a problem that affects You, Father."

Primus who was sitting next to the Allspark nodded. "I am aware. Please … tell Me more."

They would.

=0=Lunch at 1400 joors in a train yard on the Hydrax Plateau

They ate out of food boxes that Ratchet and three boys from Speedy Delivery brought through a bridge. Setting them down on the ground next to a ship filled with mechs and the Prime of Cybertron, the kids glanced around in awe. After a few moments of their questions, they reluctantly left their home world (for the first time ever) to go back to their life on Mars. It would be with a sense of amazement when they did.

After a moment of pitching food boxes around to the punters and setting out the beer color, everyone sat and began to eat.

It was quiet a moment, then Prime glanced at Ratchet. "How are things on Mars?"

"Slammin'," Ratchet said. "All is well."

"You've been getting down with the kids again, Ada. I don't think that's a good idea. You have to get back up again," Springer said as he ducked a beer bottle.

"Fragger," Ratchet said with a brilliant smile laced with battle lust. He glanced at Prime. "Anything yet?"

"No. Not much that I can figure out. Something is there though," Optimus said. "Something is getting ready to show itself but its faint yet. What that can mean in the end is anyone's guess."

"We're supposed to depend on yours," Ratchet said.

Prime grinned faintly, feeling some of his equilibrium coming back in the company of his great and good friends of a lifelong struggle. "Then pity you."

Huge laughter greeted that.

=0=Sparkling Day

They worked on writing, each of them laboriously working out the letters that would be the key to unlocking the future to whatever they wanted to do. It would be easy for some and harder for others. Han would ace writing. So would Praxus and the others. For El and Orion, it would be a work in progress.

=0=In an ethereal place

"There are many timelines swarming around this, Father," Prima said as Vector and Onyx nodded. "All of them have their own outcomes and if the energy here picks a favorite it could mean trouble for You."

"There is a calmness thus far given that The People don't know about it. If they did then things would be so unpredictable that I could not say what would happen," Vector said.

"Whatever gets the energy gets the go ahead," Micronus mused. "If there's enough energy from the collective to have war then war happens. If the wrong path is taken, Father, then You will pay the price."

"The Imperialis brothers are very tough," Primus said as He mused on the problem. "They hold a lot of different outcomes in their servos. But the main problem will always remain."

"Free will," Solus said. "Even You cannot upend what they choose. Though … Your will must be considered also. Its a very strange and fraught situation."

"It is," Primus mused.

Elsewhere in the great construct, the Central Power of All That Is was listening and watching as ever. What everyone decided would be exciting to observe. The Creator of All That Is was a spectator, too.

Free will was sacrosanct.
