"There is no emotion, there is peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

There is no chaos, there is harmony.

There is no death, there is the Force." -The Jedi Code

Ahsoka repeated those words to herself as she sat in her prison confinements. If there was one thing Ahsoka didn't like, it was being captured. You know, being an apprentice under Master Skywalker, one tends to find themselves in situations such as this one, only you don't expect it from your own side.

She had been captured plenty of times before. She often had to think on her feet in order to get the mission accomplished, whether it was taking a sepertist fleet or command point. The temple had just been bombed and she had been brought in by the council as a third party investigator.

If she was captured by the Sepertist, she would sit and wait for republic reinforcement to come and rescue her, often in the form of her Master Anakin. Now, she was so close to revealing who the true perpetrator was and she was found in the evidence by Commander Wolf. The council had expelled her from the Jedi Order in order to give her a military trial. Now she was sitting in a prison cell waiting for her 'trial' to begin. She knew that someone had used the dark side of the force to choke out the life of Letta Tourmand. Anakin had promised to investigate what was really going on and get to the heart of the matter and bring justice to whoever was really behind this attack.

She didn't know what to think or how to take all of this in. One moment she was trying to solve the mystery of the bombing and was making some headway, and next the suspect in front of her is choking out and she is suspected of doing it. Someone had to be behind all this. She had her thoughts that it was Ventress, but she couldn't be sure. Everything felt clouded. She felt like she was trying to find her way through a heavy mist that refused to lift. She took another deep breath as she sat there mediating, trying to recall any detail that could help her.

Ahsoka's eyes popped open as she felt a force presence coming towards her. It felt hidden to everyone else but her.

"What the...Aaargh!!!" A clone screamed at the end of the hallway that led to her cell.

She saw the two troopers outside her cell move against the attacker, only to be flung back a second later against the wall, knocked unconscious. A cloaked figure stood there. After a quick nod, the figure activated their lightsaber. A blue blade sprung from it, going into the control panel and deactivating the ray shield that kept her here. The lightsaber turned off and the figure removed their hood.

Barriss Offee stood before her, a gentle smile on her face. Ahsoka couldn't help but smile as she saw her friend before her.

"Good, I'm not too late." Barriss said, giving her friend a quick hug.

"Barriss!!!" Ahsoka cried as she quickly returned the hug. "What are you doing here?"

"After I heard what they did to you, expelling you from the order, there was no way I could stand by and let that happen to you. So, here I am." Barriss said.

"What about your status with the Jedi? Aren't you jeopardizing your position within the Jedi Order to rescue me?" Ahsoka questioned.

"The Jedi and I...don't exactly see eye to eye anymore. They are too stuck in their ways to see the threat before them." Barriss said as she quickly backed up and looked down the hallway to see if anyone was coming. Fortunately, none seem to be coming...yet.

"Here's your lightsabers. You're going to need them if we're going to escape." Barriss said as she quickly produced a lightsaber hilt and a shoto.

Taking them quickly, Ahsoka felt a sigh of relief overcome her. She quickly attached them to her belt. Moments later, they were off, speeding down the corridors. They ran into pockets of clone troopers, but were easily disarmed and knocked unconscious. They ran into what seemed to be a dead end.

"What now, Barriss? I'm assuming you have a plan in order to escape." Ahsoka asked, a quiet worry in her voice.

"We can't exactly go out the front door, so we'll go around the back." Barriss said as she put her hand against the wall and focused.

Ahsoka backed up in shock as the wall began to separate and opened up a path that was a secret in the temple.

"What the…" Ahsoka began to say.

"No time to explain, right now, we need to go. It won't be much longer till they figure out where we went. I'm not the only one who knows about this." Barriss said, as she took Ahsoka's hand and dragged her along.

Soon, they got to Barriss's stealth fighter and we're making their way into space. As they boarded, Ahsoka noted that this was unlike any ship she had ever seen before, but it was definitely not a republic ship, which was a good thing.

No one pursued them. Barriss was prepared when hyper traffic wanted to know what destination they had in mind. She told them the planet, Corellia, to visit some family. As soon the jump was clear, Ahsoka saw the stars blurr before her eyes.

"So, are we really going to Corellia?" Ahsoka asked, amused.

"Of course not, we may make a slight detour on the way and happen not to report it." Barriss said, an amused smile also coming over her face.

A moment of silence passed between the two friends.

"While I'm not ungrateful for you rescuing me, why are we…" Ahsoka began to say.

"Leaving Coruscant? It's because I want you to meet some people, Ahsoka. You have seen how the Jedi have treated you, treated us. We're nothing more than pawns in someone else's game." Barriss said, anger creeping into her voice. Ahsoka could feel the dark undertones in the force with Barriss. While she would continue to trust her friend for now, she had definitely changed in the time passed since she last saw her.

"Are you sure about that? I know the Jedi have…their flaws, sure.." Her mind went straight back to the trial she had before the council and how Anakin had said that they had already made their decision before she could plead her case, her side of the story. "But are they really at fault? Everything feels so...messy right now."

"I know this is all fresh and new for you Ahsoka, but believe me, the Jedi are not perfect, nor are the Sith. Both are pawns in someone's game. The people who I am taking you to understand that. Not only do they understand that, they are actively working against such schemes. I need you to trust me on this. This may not all make sense now, but I hope in time, you will see how shackled you have been, both by the Jedi and the Sith." Barris said.

An alert came up on the console, they were exiting hyperspace. A flush green planet was beneath them. Ahsoka couldn't help but stare in awe at the beauty of the planet. Immediately, she felt how powerful the force was here and could only wonder how the Jedi had not found this place before.

"Welcome to Vorir." Barriss said. She turned back to the controls and began their descent towards the planet.

As they landed, Barriss turned and faced her friend and smiled a sad smile. She reached around and placed a device on Ahsoka's neck.

"Barriss, what are you doing?" Ahsoka began to question.

"I'm sorry that I have to do this, but for you to see the truth, your eyes must be open." Barriss said.

Ahsoka immediately felt an electrical shock flow through her body, incapacitating her.

"You must learn what it means to be a slave before you can be free from it. Mistress Coria will guide you as I once was guided. Once you do, you will know freedom like never before."

Ahsoka continued to stare up at her 'friend', helpless to respond or make any movement.

"I may lose your trust for a while, but it will all be worth it in the end." Was the last thing Ahsoka heard before darkness took her in.

"Yes, Ahsoka has escaped. She apparently had help. We are tending to the troopers now, but none seemed to be seriously injured." Obi wan Kenobi said. His face looked as thoughtful as ever.

"Disturbing, this is. Where she had gone, we do not know." Yoda said. "Find her, we will not."

"Let me go after her. She's my padawan. She's my responsibility." Anakin said.

"She was expelled from the order Anakin. She is no longer your padawan." Obi reprimanded.

"Would you say the same about me, Master?" Anakin asked, the emotion evident in his voice.

"Remember the Jedi code. There is no emotion, there is peace." Obi wan reminded, despite his own emotions raging beneath the surface. He too, was concerned for Ahsoka's safety.

"High alert, we will be. The war, too big, to search for her now. An attack on Botor, underway it is. Need reinforcements, you two will go." Yoda said.

"But Master…" Anakin began.

"It is not your place to question the council Anakin." He turned and faced Yoda. "We will supply reinforcements. We will leave as soon as possible. Isn't that right, Anakin?" Obi Wan said in a stern tone.

"Yes Master. I'll get my ship ready." Anakin said, his displeasement evident on his face. Nothing more was said as he set off, obeying the orders he was given.

"Does she know?" A female voice asked.

"No, my mistress. She does not know that it was me that set her up with the murder of Letta Turmond, the one responsible for the bombing of the temple." Barriss responded.

"Does it bother you that you betrayed your friend?" The voice asked again.

"No, my mistress, for I did not betray a friend, but rather gained a sister, even if she does not see it that way currently."

Silence stood in the air as the figure considered Barriss's words.

"Well said, sister of the night, for your words ring true. Thus, your words have pleased me. You may drink from the fountain." The voice said.

"Thank you Mistress Coria. I live to serve." Barriss said and then darted toward the fountain, looking at it as if it held more value than life itself.

Coria smiled as she watched Barriss drink from the fountain. She sensed that this Jedi would be difficult to break, but they all did in the end. This one would be no exception. No, she would become putty in their hands, showing her the life she was always meant to live, in servitude and in pleasure.
